Chapter 22 : Playing "Keep Silent" With Shirakami Fubuki (1)
It is now 6:50 PM. Ayumi needs to get back to streaming.
She was just finished setting up the additional equipments besides her computer in the streaming room. These are another monitor connected to a WLAN box.
This box can connect to any computer wirelessly. So long as she knows the IP Address and the password of the computer, she can access it and manipulate everything in that computer using her own computer.
Basically, she can do a backdoor with this box.
Her CPU was already anomalous so it can handle a lot of stress even if it was connected to a lot of servers.
Along with the second monitor is a weird keyboard that have a wide arrange of buttons compared to a normal keyboard.
This one is called as the Computer Administration Keyboard. Basically, it have a lot of buttons that will help on maintaining multiple computers. Though it is unusable to a single person. It needs at least five person to use it.
But she will use it alone, connecting her CPU functions to Fubuki's computer so she can coordinate whenever she streams. It doesn't matter how many are the buttons in the admin keyboard. She have Psychokinesis so she can easily use her mind to manipulate the keys of the admin keyboard.
She memorized every keys in the admin keyboard just so she doesn't need to look at it when she was using it.
As for the second monitor, she needs it to look into Fubuki's stream. She can't just use her main monitor to look into Fubuki's stream. She also have her own stream to do. So she needs a second monitor for that.
Other than that, she created a lot of effects with her Vtuber Streaming App so she can use it to make Fubuki's streams livelier. Just like what she is always doing in her own streams.
All of this are the things she acquired on the many chests she have several days ago.
After she was done setting up the equipment to better coordinate Fubuki's streams, she was preparing for her own equipments to her own stream.
While she is doing that, Fubuki knocks on her door which makes her stop on her preparations to her streaming. She quickly goes to the door to open it and see her with a large smile on her face.
"Are we starting now?"
It seems like Fubuki was excited for her first ever streaming as a Vtuber. And she will be streaming with an experienced Vtuber.
But for Ayumi, it was the opposite. Even if this is a different Fubuki, she still looks at her as the same.
Basically, she was seeing her as the professional Vtuber Shirakami Fubuki. And she was the one being thankful for having the chance to do a collab with her.
"Yes, we can begin. You can start your stream now. Don't worry about the effects, I'll take care of it."

As Fubuki left with a leap in her steps, Ayumi goes back to setting up her streaming equipments. She wants to do this carefully because she wants to make sure all her equipments are fully operational.

"... Huh?" Ayumi was shocked when she saw that prompt.
Along with her uttering those shocked tone are the appearance of her rewards behind her.
She looks behind her and saw that there are many chest in her room, some of it appearing on the hallways. There are one hundred slips of tickets above the chest that was near her. And there are also a hundred boxes of cake above some of the chests.
'... Just because I am collaborating with Fubuki-chan?' She thought in surprise.
But she can't move freely with these chests behind her. So she decided to use one of the abilities that she buys in her system.
A circular hole appeared in space. It was as large as a doorframe. Then, all of her rewards floated on the ground for a bit before moving at the circular hole in a slightly fast pace.
What she uses are two of her abilities, Psychokinesis God and Portal God.
While Psychokinesis is the ability to move things through mental will alone, her Portal is literally the ability to make portals. This ability makes her connect a single space to another. Basically, it's like a wormhole.
As to where she took all those items, it's on the Forbidden Room. She imagined it would be cluttered in there now because there are a lot of chests that was rewarded to her but she decided to deal with that next time. For now, she focus on starting her stream.
"... H-here I go..." She muttered to herself with a flinch as she started her stream.
"Hello, this is Sakaguchi Kotomi desu!~~" She greeted her viewers at the start with a wave of her hands.

She can feel the sincerity on Kotomi's words and quickly accepted her words.
She was just surprised because Ayumi doesn't look like someone who wanted to play with her. She always look so focused whenever she sees her on the house, even when the two of them are eating together.
She was also surprised that Ayumi, as Kotomi, sounds so different when she was in front of her audience.
As for Kotomi, she was still cowardly. But whenever she was in her Kotomi's persona, she somehow acquire a lot of courage to herself, which makes it seem like she was a different person.
"Of course I want to play with you." Kotomi replied to her like it was a matter of fact.
"I see." Fubuki uttered unconsciously.
"Anyway, what are we going to play now Fubuki-chan!~" Kotomi quickly passes the torch to Fubuki.
"Eh? Me? Ah okay..." Fubuki was flustered when she was suddenly put in the spotlight.
'Ah right, this is still the early day Fubuki. What am I thinking!?' Kotomi scolded herself in her mind as she recalled that the Fubuki in this world wasn't that confident yet in herself.

Kotomi can see all of those comments and it seems like some people doesn't like the horror like her and chose to leave her stream. Though there are also people who likes horror.
She already titled her current stream as Escaping The Horrifying Monsters (Feat. Shirakami Fubuki). But it seems like those watching her still didn't understand that it was a horror that she was going to play.
Even she won't play it if not for Fubuki's invitation.
"Yes, we are going to play Keep Silent. So I hope you also enjoy this!" Kotomi said to her viewers as she opens the Keep Silent game.
The first scene the two of them see is the logo for the developer of this game, with the name Logan Team below the logo.
Then, a sound of some wooden door opening was heard before the sound of something breezy passing through came next. Then a slow eerie melancholic music played in the background as the screen showed the title of the game and then the options that they can choose below.
"Woah, that was creepy." That was Fubuki who said that.
"Yeah... I also feel the same way." Kotomi replied while she was pointing her cursor at the local network. "So who will become the host?" She asks as she picks that option.
Ayumi's screen changes. Now there is a large panel on the top with smaller options on it. Written on those options are Create, Join, or Quit.
"I'll create a room for us. Please wait for me." She heard Fubuki said.
"Okay." Kotomi said simply before looking at her viewers. "So this is my first time playing this game." She said before continuing. "I will admit this now, I am not good at horror games. Like, totally not good at it. So if you hear me scream, that was just natural." She admitted to her viewers with a straight face.
Though inwardly, she was already becoming panicked. She was so panicked that she uttered those words so the viewers doesn't freak out when she suddenly screams. She also was feeling ashamed because she admitted one of her weaknesses in front of her viewers.

Kotomi saw a new entry in the large panel on the top that reads フブキ's room.
Going inside it, she saw that only two slots are occupied.
As to why no one can join them even with the room being public, it's because they only pick the Local Network option. This is a game where Fubuki invited only her so it seems like only the two of them will play this game.
There is an Online Mode on this game where people can join the rooms of other players to play with them. But Fubuki decided that the two of them should play at each other first as her first experience playing this game.
Yes, this is Fubuki's first time playing this game.
"Kotomi, I want to choose Mansion. Do you think it's okay?" Fubuki said when Kotomi got inside the room.
"Huh? Of course it's fine! Go on, we can do it!" Kotomi quickly gave her acceptance to Fubuki's suggestion.
She doesn't have the heart to even refuse because this is Fubuki's first time playing this game.
'I'll ask to change the map after we are done with this' Kotomi thought to herself.
She knows that it was one of the hardest maps of this game. Containing many rooms and traps that will make it easier for the monster to corner a player.
"Let's go with the medium difficulty." She heard Fubuki said that.
There are five types of difficulty on this game. Gentle, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Nightmare. The difficulty indicates how much puzzles there are in a single map, how much enemies are existing there, and how sensitive and aggressive they are to players.
It was just a quick adjustment and now they are ready to play the game.
"So are you ready?"
"Of course. Let's start the game."
Kotomi quickly replied to Fubuki while still feeling nervous about the game.
Fubuki heard everything about Kotomi being scared of the horror games. She can hear what's Kotomi is saying due to the voice chat being enabled.
In fact, Fubuki wants to try doing the game at the Nightmare difficulty but after hearing Kotomi, she decided to not be that cruel to her. Though she still wants to try the Mansion because that's the one that she saw from the Youtubers that she viewed.
When she pick ready a countdown starting to five started before it slowly countdowns up to zero.
"Okay, good luck Fubuki-chan!"

The both of them said at each other before the screen turned black. After awhile, the scenery changes.
Kotomi's character slowly opens his eyes before standing up. Then she can finally control him.
She was inside a single dilapidated room. There is a single drawer to the side and a bed besides where he woke up. There is also a frame hanging besides the bed on the wall. And the only light in this room are the flashlight that she was carrying.
Kotomi quickly manipulated her keyboard before putting a caption on the screen that reads...

If you find one lamp and a vase on your right side, move left. The shower room is easily distinguishable by a door with a tag in front of it that reads Shower. Go inside there and find the key somewhere in that room. I recommend going to the bathtub because most of the time, it was there.

Kotomi was reading all of their comments while she goes out of the room.
When she saw that on her right side, there is a single lamp and a vase in there, she quickly moves to the left.
She was moving as quietly as possible. There are different types of moving in this game, with the main three ones being running, walking, and tiptoeing. The other type are split into three categories called standing, kneeling, and crawling. Using this different methods of standing and moving, they can have a variety of ways to escape or hide from the monsters.
There are also items in a stage which the players can use to stun the monster for awhile as they try to run away. Distractions can also be used to elude the monsters like grabbing an object and throwing it somewhere or lighting a fire when they have the necessary item to do it.
Darkness is pretty scary but it is an important factor so the players can hide. Based on the lore of this game, the abominations rely on their sense of hearing and sight to hunt their preys. So darkness is one of the ways to hide against these monsters.
What Kotomi is currently doing is going on the darkest parts of the hallway without opening her flashlight. Even if it's dark, she is still willing to move around without the flashlight.
She only opens it when she predicted that no one is besides her. Because she is still new to the map so she kept opening the flashlight to see where she is going before continuing. She doesn't want to get lost.
After walking straight to the left for awhile, she opens her flashlight and saw that she was near the door to the shower rooms.
She quickly shuts down her flashlight before opening the door to the shower room.
When she opened it, she knew that she will alert a monster. They are very sensitive to sound that they will immediately go to the site where a noise was made. And the door makes a noise when it was being opened.
In fact, she also made a noise when she leaves the first room where she started. So it is safe to assume that the monsters are already there, if not still going there.
She quickly opened her flashlight and go to the side of the shower room. On one of the water sink on the floor, she saw the key in it. She quickly takes it before also looking on the bathtub and taking the rubber duck that she sees lying in there.
And then she left the room by running away. She moves on the opposite direction of where she came while running away.
When she got to the path that bends to the left, she turned around and opened her inventory in quick succession before putting the rubber duck to the slot there that makes her hold it in her hands. After that she quickly closes her inventory menu and then moves her sight a little to the above before holding the left mouse button. After releasing her hold on it, her character threw the rubber duck on the darkness beyond her vision. After that she tiptoed her way to the left bend on the hallways.
She did all that so the monsters will go to the sound where she throws the object. Based on her instincts, she felt that it was the right thing to do to survive a bit longer.
After that, she walks on the long hallway, ignoring the rooms that she passed by. She stops when she got to the fifth door.
Opening her flashlight, she saw that it was a door that leads to the Music Room. She quickly turn off her flashlight after a second and then opened the door quickly. It made a noise which makes her quickly go inside the music room and close it.
After that, she looks at the around the room and saw a drawer on her left side. So she goes on the side of that drawer and use the action to push it to block the door where she entered.
Then, she opens her flashlight again to look around the room.
While she was doing that, her chatroom is becoming amazed at her...

After taking the key, you need to get out of the shower room and find a box that contains the Golden Key. The Golden Key is either on the Music Room, Art Room, or the third room on the Right Wing. Though you might want to make haste or you'll be caught by the monsters.

As stated above, she was pretty fast at learning the controls and the tricks that most pro players uses. Though they can also see her eyes moving everywhere and her expression which is full of paranoia and fear.
They are right, Kotomi is trying to become the bait even when she is scared. This is to protect Fubuki from the monsters lurking on the Mansion.
She reads this on one of the strategy guides and it seems like this is one of the strategy used for those players who really trusts their team. Because monsters moves to the nearest or loudest noise they can hear, they will quickly move to that area.
She also wants to speak to turn their attention to her but she was not doing that due to being scared to do so. She doesn't even know what to say other than finishing all the puzzles as quickly as possible and letting Fubuki escape first before her.
She wants to make this game enjoyable for Fubuki and she thinks it would be a failure if Fubuki was the one who got killed by the monsters first. So she is using herself as a bait.
Though Kotomi wasn't thinking like that due to her being scared of the game. She was just moving by instinct, and she subconsciously wants Fubuki to be happy so it strangely coincides with her instincts.
She quickly points her flashlight to the place where the piano is located as she moves there in a sprint.
Because she was already compromised, so she was running to get to the place she wants to go much faster.
When she got besides the Piano, she quickly finds a box lying inside the piano box. She grabs it and move besides the chair besides the piano before putting it there. Then she uses the key she got on the shower room to open it. From there, she got a Golden Key.
After having that, it seems like it's time for her to go to the main hall. She looks at the second door that leads to the main hallway, just facing the direction of the piano. She moves on that door and opens it. When she got in there, she saw one vase besides one of the nearest door where she is currently located. She took that vase and put it on hold in her hands before facing the opened door where she just left.
She turned her vision high for a bit before throwing that vase on the direction where the piano is located. When she throws that, she quickly closes the door before turning her flashlight off and moving on the main hallway. This time, she was moving by kneeling, in a walking motion. She makes a noise but it was subdued unlike normally walking.
When she got two steps out of the door that she just closes, the loud sound of the piano keys being pushed along with the shattering of a vase was heard on the Music Room behind her.
"Ah!"
She heard Fubuki's gasp when that sound occurs. It seems like Fubuki is near to hear that sound.
Because of her voice, Kotomi can't help but also speak to her.
"Pssst! Please don't be so loud!" She whispered on the voice chat while she was moving on hallway. "I'll cover you so just finish all the puzzles on your way." Kotomi explained.
"Ah, okay okay..." Fubuki replied in a whisper.
After that, Kotomi moves straight on the hallway without a care on the rooms that she was encountering. After walking straight for awhile, she met a large double doors blocking her way.
She gets closer to that door and then opens it with the Golden Key. When it opened, she find herself in an expansive room. It was a room with four large double doors leading to different directions of this mansion. Where she came from is the eastern side of this four direction double doors. In the middle of this expansive room is a large stairs leading to the lower floor. This stairs leading to the lower floor was facing the double doors on the north direction.
She heard the door opens on the opposite direction and then a flash of light meets her gaze.
"Ah! It's just you..." She heard Fubuki says while the flash of light moves out of her vision.
It seems like she was moving around with her flashlight open.
"Yes, so what do you got?" Kotomi quickly replied as she moves to the northern side of this expansive room where the stairs can be accessed.
"Let's see, I have the-"
"Fubuki-chan, please move now while telling me all of that..."
"-bottle of fuel and a silver key. I just used the silver key to open this door there."
After Kotomi told her to move, Fubuki moves away to the door where she came from and go to the stairs where Kotomi is also going.

Those items must be searched through the hallways beyond the four doors. Meaning you need to go back. But if you can pass through, that means that the next puzzle is THAT. If it's THAT, a lot of things will become complicated.

Just like her HC, Kotomi was also becoming pale due to seeing the stairs not having any blockage in it. She reads the strategy guide so she knows what to expect.
If there is a blockage there, she needs to find a sledgehammer or an emergency axe to destroy the blockage. It will only take a few moments before they can destroy all of it. Monsters will most like occur on that time but they can quickly hide after destroying one layer of blockage. The northern door is pretty near and there are many hiding spots on it when they get inside of it.
But when there is no blockage in the stairs, another harder puzzle is waiting for them. It is the puzzle that makes this stage as one of the hardest stages in this game.
'Oh no, We'll be doing the fuel refilling puzzle!' Kotomi thought in dread.
Yes, it's an obstacle that quickly wipes out all the players.
While on the destroying the blockage, one or two player can become the bait to destroy the blockage, and they can also destroy the door to get outside of this Mansion. Fuel refilling is hard.
Beyond the stairs is just some random rooms and then the door to the outside of the Mansion. But there is also a gate beyond it which can't be climbed it, even the walls surrounding it is too high for them. Also, when there are no blockage on the stairs, sledgehammer and emergency axe are also not existent on that map. This makes it impossible to break through the locked gate.
So the player needed to go to the garage which is just besides the Mansion. But opening closed garage needs a pump to open it. Then fixing the car needs an electric box. Then there is also the refueling of the car, which can't be done when they didn't have five bottles of fuel. They also need to activate the car with an electric box first before they can refuel it, which will make the car turn noisy.
But when they manage to activate the car, that is when their escape will become a success. A cutscenes will occur after they are done getting inside the car.
But still, if players were given a choice whether to do the blockage puzzle or the refueling puzzle, they will choose the blockage puzzle because it was much easier and they can hide quickly. The garage doesn't have much leeway on the hiding department, and they can't go back to the garage if they leave it because the monsters will stay in there.
It basically turned a hard puzzle into an impossible one.
