Chapter 10: Meeting the Others
Hawks was in awe of the place. The halls were long and huge. "So, where are from Hawks?" Kurt asked as they left the living room. "Kyushu Fukuoka, it's an island, and the name's Keigo." Hawks said. Why do they keep calling me Hawks?
Scott pointed to where everyone slept just in case Hawks ever needed any of them. "Here we are," Scott said, stopping at the door. Hawks watches a Kurt teleports in and out. "Had to unlock it," the blue-haired teen said.
"Thanks," Hawks smiles as Scott opens the room. As they walked in Hawks's eyes widen in awe of how big the room and everything was. "This is your room while your here," Scott said to him as Hawks walked around looking at everything. "This all for me?" he asked.
"Yes." Scott smiles as Hawks half jumps on his bed smirking a bit. "Cool.." He flopped down, spreading his wings out as he lands on his back. This all mine.
"Well, do you want take a break and rest or have to look around?" Scott asked him. Hawks sat up. "Explore!" he grins widely. "I want to see more of this place." he bounced off the bed and over to the others.
"Are all the room this big?"
Scott chuckled. "How about we show you around then know where thigs are an get your answer yourself." Hawks nodded his head eagerly. "Yeah!"

Hawks was enjoying the tour a bit. He quickly noted the rooms and uses. A study where Professor X would hang out in training rooms where he saw a few others training. "How often do you guys train?" he asked while he watched.
"At least once day for a few hours sometime twice day." Scott said. "It just depends on your skill level and control over your powers." Hawks nodded as he watched. "Could I try?" he asked.
"Maybe later, when your back to normal." Hawks frowns. "What mean?" he asked Scott. The brown-haired teen ran a hand through his hair. "Ugh..I keep forgetting you don't recall." Hawks gave him a puzzled look before looking at Kurt, who just shrugged. "I have no clue what he's talk about either Hawks."
Hawks sighs and looks up as Scott places a hand on his shoulder. "Come on, there more rooms to see." Scott lead the way out with Hawks looking back over at the room once before following after him with Kurt. "Don't feel bad, they don't tell me everything either." the blue-haired teen smiled.

After a few more minutes, Hawks seen a lot of the mansion they called home. He was now wondering about alone. Taking in the place once more. Scott ad Kurt had left to deal with school work is what Scott called it.
As he entered the kitchen he stood there gazing around until the voice broke into his thoughts. "Hey, your new here aren't you," Hawk looked to see a brown skinned, blonde-haired teen walked over. A stake board under his arm. "Are you lost can I help locate someone or where you want to go?" he asked the seven-year-old.
"N-no thanks, I'm just exploring." Hawks said, rubbing back of his head. "I'm Keigo," Hawks greeted him.
"Evan nice to meet you, so what's your power? Does it involve those red wings?" Evan asked, looking at the hawk sized wings on his back.
"Yeah.." Hawks looked at his wings as he moved them. "It called Fierce Wings it my quirks." he smiled.
"Quirk? Is that what you call your mutation?" Evan asked him, leaning on the counter. Hawks looked up at him. "Yeah, that what me and a few others call our powers."
"That's so cool.." Evan beamed. "But, isn't hard having er.. a quirk? Aren't you scared what others might think of you?" he frowns look at Hawks.
"No." Hawks shakes his head. "It's common, for people to have quirks."
"Must be nice," Evan sighs, leaning on his palm. Hawks frowns, "Is things different here, does not accept everyone them?" he asked in concern.
"Well, those who have children with powers are more likely to understand us, then ones who don't. Professor X tries to keep things under wraps, but I think there is more to it. Aunt Storm, me, Jean, Scott, Logan, Rouge, Kurt, Hank, and Professor X use our powers to help others."
"Sounds like the pro heroes back home. The news show them live on tv fighting villains."
"We aren't in the public eye, not safe. So we keep low profiles for those who don't want to leave. Professor X offers them a home but, it their choice if they stay or go." Evan said.
Hawks wings lower a bit. "So, you guys aren't doing this for the fame." Evan shakes his head. "Nope, some want be heroes others just want control. What about you, Hawks? What brought you here, we don't get kids here that often."
Hawks shrugged his shoulders, making his wings move. "Curiously, mainly." he sighs and looks down a bit. "Also, I can't really go home since, I don't know if my parents are around.. or not. Plus, I don't have many people to trust."
"Well, you trust us, right?" Evan smiles at him. Hawks nodded. "Yes, everyone so kind to me." Hawks smiles shyly. "They're happy and friendly, even Silver Claws."
"Silver claws? Do you mean Logan?" Evan asked in amusement. Hawks nodded. Evan whistled. "Man, I swear he hates me, somehow I'm always on his bad side."
Hawks laughs a bit. "He's not that bad." He's scary and kind person.
"True, true. He acts tough but really has a heart once you get past his claws."
"Claws?" Hawks asked, a bit confused. "It's a just way of saying he's soft hearted with tough skin." Evan cracked a smile. "Oh, I get it, like hard shell protecting something softer."
"Yep, you going fit right in here Hawks." The blonde boy smiled at Evan.

Evana and Hawks made their way to the front. "So, what do you plan on doing now?" he asked the boy. "I don't know.. maybe solo flying for a bit, I want to get better with my wings so I can a hero," Hawks said, flapping his wings a bit. "I want to get stronger."
"Well, then. I suggested sticking close to the Institute. So you don't draw attention to yourself. "
"How come?"
"Well, we're allowed past the gates but, no powers allowed, unless you want rumors about going around."
What does he mean, what's past the gates?.
