"Do you ever go to class" a timid voice asked as they walked up to find Harry lounging back on a bench, his head hanging off backwards, basking in the sun.
His head tilted and an upside down smile appeared on his face, "Erica! How nice to see you, and even from this angle you look good!"
"Stop!" she said blushing, "I never look good."
"Do we have to have this argument again" he said jack-knifing his body and landing on a three point landing on the slender bench, a hand down, his feet planted firmly.
Erica gasped, "You landed like a cat!"
"You like cats," Harry asked with a growing smile.
"Yeah - I suppose," she said, "Had a couple growing up. And you move like one."
"I suppose there must be a good reason for that then," Harry said with a secret smile, "But to answer your question I'm on strike to show my displeasure." he said, "The Government forced me into High-school despite the fact I could easily now pass my GED they won't let me. So I refuse to go to class, and when they spring a test on me, well I tend to ace that anyway. Academically I'm above reproach, so there is little they can really do to me. Besides, I actually have a growing list of distance learning degree's to my name that make me better qualified than some of the teachers in this place." he said sliding down into a seating position. Then he patted the bench, "You on a free?"
"Yeah," she said, "I had a doctor's appointment, and they gave me the morning off, but I got out early. Thanks to Scott's mom actually. She's a sweetheart."
"And kinda hot" Harry said sagely.
Erica laughed, and then sat down beside Harry, "You should go to class. I know the Art History teacher is getting really pissed that you don't turn up."
"Like I said to Allison, what possible use I will ever have in my life for that subject?" he said with a laugh, "I don't much like art that doesn't do anything."
"Do anything, it's just for looking at." she said confused.
"I like stuff that moves, I like computer art, I like modern art, and I hate stuffy old paintings that have far too much to say for themselves."
She shot him a strange look.
"Ahh yes, that would make me seem strange, but if you grew up where I did you'd know why I said that," he said with a chuckle, "Anyway, how are you? Are you still looking forward to our date? Sorry it's taking so long, but seriously, I had to tear down an old house and get a new one built. I'm still living out of my suitcase in the only half decent hotel in town." he said apologetically.
"That's fine, but you hang around with Allison, and word in the school is that something happened between you and Lydia Martin. I don't understand what you like about me, when you have those two in your orbit." she said self consciously.
"Well that's for me to know, and maybe for you to find out then. But you seem to think you're unattractive, just because of your illness. I'm here to tell you that I see the hottie under the surface, and it's a thin surface at that. You've got a wicked sense of humour, and a nice twinkle in your eye. I knew a girl growing up you see. No one really saw her, don't know why. Ended up going out with my mate actually, but she grew into a real beauty, but everyone saw that she didn't make the best of herself and ignored her. I see below the surface and I did with her, and I do with you." he said, then looked at her for a long moment.
"I'm willing to bet that you're every bit as hot as Lydia, and as beautiful as Allison. You think you don't make the best of yourself, am I right?"
She nodded, looking at him with large doe eyes.
"So why don't you then?"
"Because it would be a wasted effort." she said, "I'd have a fit or something and ruin it all."
"That's the dumbest thing I've heard today." Harry said bluntly, "And excuse the bluntness, but you shouldn't make an effort for anyone but yourself. If you feel good, if you and only you feel like you look your best then it's not a wasted effort, because you did what you set out to do. Don't get dressed up for anyone else, do it because you feel you want to look your best."
"Huh" she said mulling that over.
"See my point" he asked with a grin. "Now don't get me wrong, I'd like to see you dolled up. I'd get my jollies because I fancy you." He said, "I know what that baggy clothing is hiding because I'm not as stupid as the rest of the men around here." He said with a wink making her laugh again, that slightly dirty laugh of hers that reminded him of Tempe.
"Maybe you'll see something then, because maybe you're right," she said.
"Of course I am," he said, then smiled, "Anyway…what do you do for fun. If'n I'm going to take you on a date, it would be as well to know what you like to do. I was thinking dinner, how about that?"
"Sounds good, there are not many places to go here," she said seriously, "But a few nice ones, an Italian in town."
"Oh good, I love Italian food, so I'll book a night there then?"
"Okay" she said with a large smile, then checked her watch, "Unlike you I actually have to go to class" she said, standing. Then she smiled, blushed and leaned down and kissed his cheek, "You are a darling – whatever else you might be – thank you."
"I'm going to take that as a compliment," Harry said with a half smile.
"We both know you want in my panties" she said with a chuckle, "That makes you a womaniser I suppose, I've known one of the biggest in the history of the town, and you remind me of him. He was my uncle, is my uncle I suppose, but he's been absent for a while now."
Harry nodded, "I'm not sure I like the term, but nothing else really fits. I'm not ashamed of what I am. I am what I am. I don't think if I'm honest about that, that anyone will get the wrong idea."
"Oh no – I know what you want, but you're doing it in a way that's doing nothing but boosting my rather bad self image, for that I thank you. Maybe, just maybe I'll let you between my legs, but not on a first date."
"I look forward to that," Harry said with a sexy smile.
She paused, "But…we'd have to be careful."
"Worried you'd have a fit. I'll make you a guarantee darling; you'll never have a fit in my presence. If you want to prove that's true, you'll just have to hang around me – won't you."
She smiled, "Why do I have a feeling you're telling the truth." The bell rang and she glanced around, "I have to go…but I'll see you soon." She said smiling, then turning and virtually bouncing off.
Harry watched her go with admiration in his eyes. Some people were just so blind it was a crying shame. A little, tiny bit of work and that girl would be an absolute goddess. He could see it and the fact no one could see past the slightly dowdy look of her made him concerned for humanity. Her hair alone was just glorious, and those doe eyes of hers!
He shook his head at it all, then span, lying down and let the sun bask him again. It may be winter but this wasn't Scotland it was California, the sun was way hotter and the cat in him loved to nap.
If he was at least AT school, they really couldn't complain in his opinion. Even though frankly he had better things to be doing, like, you know – running the oldest, largest company in the history of the entire world!

Allison looked at Harry who was once more chatting up cheerleader types in the cafeteria. He was sat at a long table, totally surrounded by some of the best looking girls in the school. Various range of types, ages and in general just all women.
He was getting some nasty glares from the men in the school but he didn't care. He carried himself in such a way that no man their age was going to tangle with him even slightly and that meant he had free reign in the school.
She didn't really understand how it was that he was getting away with not turning up for class, and knew eventually some kind of sanction would be applied to him for that.
For the moment thought the principle seemed just glad he bothered to turn up at all. She was aware he was very highly qualified as a student, and could probably write out on his GED, and wondered why the government weren't letting him do it. Or indeed why they forced him into school when he was so obviously needed elsewhere.
He ran a HUGE multi-national company, and seemed to have to do so by distance, while the US of A kept him in school. She had to wonder why they were doing that. He had no parents to threaten for the truancy. In general, she just wondered what was going on.
She watched Lydia enter the room. She was dressed particularly well that day. She totally blanked Jackson, who glared at her and said something nasty. Then and only then did she look at him. Allison watched as Jackson visibly wilted under the force of that glare and then she smiled, walked over to Harry's table, and lent over his shoulder.
"Hell Yeah!," she said.
"Right ladies, I've got to go" he said to much disappointment, "I'll see you all later." He said, and then Lydia smiled sexily, was taken by the hand and dragged away quickly.
Allison knew her friend was a passionate woman, but this was twice in as many days, and she suspected this was not making out in coaches office. This was full on, full Monty sex, and with someone she really barely knew.
The fact that Allison had waited for Lydia yesterday and watched her 'limp' out of the office just made Allison champ at the bit all the more. She had decided to give her and Scott a week, and then she was going after Harry full tilt, and she wasn't going to hold back in the least.
That said the girls at Harry's old table were all looking at each other with interested gazes. "That's all it takes?" One asked.
"We just say – Hell Yeah?"
"Did you SEE her yesterday – she was limping!" another said. "I've gotta get me some of that!"
Allison sighed, this was not going to be as easy as she had imagined. There was a lot of competition at just that table, that's ignoring the likes of Tempe.
Allison felt she was perhaps classically better looking, but Tempe had something about her that made men stupid. Then there was the fact Harry already had some sort of date lined up – with whom he hadn't said, just that he had one lined up.
Also, Harry wasn't really looking for a classic sort of relationship in the first place. She either had to accept that, or move on, or backwards come to that. She needed this week, she needed to think about her options, and really she needed to decide if she could handle what her place with Harry would really be.
She'd assumed he would drop everything and go out with her. Just seeing that table disabused her of that notion. She may be beautiful and it wasn't hubris to say that, but so were a lot of girls, and Lydia was not exactly a slouch in the looks department. Her code word had just spread throughout most of the eligible girls in school.
Now Allison had to decide if she wanted to make use of it herself, try something new – or something else, she just didn't know yet. She knew exactly one thing though. She wanted Harry, he spoke to a part of her long since buried, and the more it came out, the more she enjoyed being herself once again.
It was a new balance between that girl who played with jocks and other men, so badly they had been asked to leave. Well that and...other reasons. And also a balance with the new 'Good Girl' Allison who was looking for stability.
Somewhere between the two was the new Allison becoming, and Harry WAS going to be a part of that, she knew that in her heart.

"Hey; you! Come down here!" a female voice called.
Harry opened one eye lazily. He'd retreated up a tree that day. One of the largest in the quad, something he was only able to climb because he had his own built in set of crampons.
He looked down; there was a rather gorgeous 'thirty if she was a day' woman there. She had shoulder length blonde hair, great body, lovely deep brown eyes and killer legs in good sized 'Kitten Heels'. She was also looking pissed, and looking up at him furiously.
"Don't make me come up there and get you."
"Not in that skirt," he noted wryly, mostly to himself, and then shuffled to the edge of the last thick enough branch he'd reached. Then kicked off and swept down, landing lightly and then straightening up. Coming face to face with the angry eyes of the Teacher; he assumed. "Can I help you Miss?"
"Help ME?" she demanded furiously, "Yet AGAIN you've not turned up for my class, and it's time you stopped being childish. I'm not just any old teacher Count Noir, I've been sent here as your temporary oversight from the government. And I'm here to tell you that you're being a giant child! It either stops or I will make sure that my government deports your ass back to England where I believe that your old culture has a death warrant in your name. If that's not enough I will make damn sure we pull your government contracts as well!"
A pair of slightly glowing Emerald eyes looked at her for a long moment. She felt a quiver of fear in the flat look she was receiving, and in truth she just didn't have the clout to do some of what she'd just threatened. Really she just wanted to make sure he realized he was being a little ass-hat and it was time to stop. "I know you don't want to be here, but this is part of the deal - you made in good faith."
"I agreed to come to school, which I do - every day." Harry said, "What's your name Miss?"
"Walker, Annie Walker."
"CIA I would hazard," Harry said, "Must be annoying for you to be assigned babysitting duty." He noted. He was right, it was, and she'd had enough of skirting around him being a little shit.
"Either way, you'll come to heel or I'll MAKE you come to heel. Now you're going to be in my lesson Monday and EVERY lesson after that from now on, unless you're officially signed out of school. I know you have a business to run, but right now this is important, you're here to learn. By god, learn you will! Starting with how to stop being a brat!"
His lips twitched, "I see," he said. "You do realize that if you tried to stage economic war on me - I would win." he said seriously, "I could break this entire little country of yours and not lose sleep."
"If you want to be a little pissant, then sure - you go right ahead, you'd ruin a lot of lives because, Boo Hoo, we're making you do something that EVERY teenager your age is legally required to do. No, you can't have your GED, you will come to school, you will learn to be an ADULT in this world, and you will stop acting out!"
Harry was silent for a long moment, then to her relief his shoulders sagged, "Very well - I do see your point Miss Walker, thank you."
"I...very well." she said, turning on a kitten heel she walked away.
He watched her go, a tinge of admiration in his eyes for her form, and her gumption. He was very aware that a lowly CIA operative didn't have that sort of power, but then again - she was also right.
He'd been acting out more than a little, and the problem was - he thought he was a bit more mature than that. He was disappointed in himself, so he would do as he was told for now. He would toe the line and he would stop being bratty. Of course, they weren't going to get away scott free either, and certainly not her.
He was the richest man in the country maybe the world, and perhaps the most powerful both personally and economically. He literally couldn't let her get away with treating him like that, or the sharks would be ALL over him as they sensed weakness. He wouldn't do anything nasty, but he have to do something, or it wouldn't look...right.
He set his shoulders and pulled out his tablet phone. It had the SIM in it he'd always had, but this was a very new type of phone, well ahead of anything on the market, using a chip architecture he'd created.
He was due to release these shortly which he suspected would make a killing on the market. They were ten times more powerful than anything on the market, and could run just about anything with the right emulation software. He'd created the OS himself, and then sent it to one of his subsidiaries to work out the kinks, something they had done very well.
He checked his schedule, finding he was due for a free anyway for the rest of the day and chuckled. Okay - so Monday it was. In the meantime he had some research to do on a certain CIA agent that had just treated him like a child, even if he'd been acting like one.

Annie Walker glared at the name on the list that was currently and yet again, absent! Then a knock at the door redirected her ire. "Come" she said in a clipped tone, making everyone look at her, and then the door.
Then Harry walked in. He wore a business suit in pitch black, even his tie and shirt were black. With an Emerald green silk pocket kerchief in the top pockets the only splash of colour.
The suit itself would've cost more than Jackson's car, and he reeked power in every single way imaginable, he glided into the room, "I'm so sorry I'm late Miss Walker, I had a breakfast meet in L.A.. Here's my Tardy" he told her slipping a piece of paper on the desk.
He was unusually serious, and leaned in close to the blonde beauty, "Turns out you were right about my old country" he said, "I'm afraid that I'm going to be going to a lot of meetings this week, but I've already cleared them with the Principle."
"That's fine," she said at the same volume, "That is actually a good reason to miss the class and thank you for at least getting here – even if it was late. Take a seat, and if there's anything you need from me or the government – ask."
Harry nodded, and then every single eye that was female, or like minded, followed his progress. He looked around, spotting a desk at the back of the class, and frowned, "Really?" he said sounding amused, then shrugged and walked over to it.
He glanced down with a look of mild distaste at the all in one desk and chair, then unbuttoned his exceptionally expensive and well made jacket, and took it off, placing it carefully on the back of the chair. Then he rolled up his sleeves to show very powerful forearms that had most of the women, including Annie, drooling at the sight of them.
For his forearms to be that powerful meant it was highly likely the rest of him was built like that. The silken material of his high cotton count shirt stretched as he sat down. Then he flipped open a legal pad, a pen in hand. Then he looked up, "Well?"
Annie frowned at the tone, "Right – now we can start." She said and launched into her class. Harry knew that given her role there she was probably learning the material the night before to impart the next day.
That said, she was good at it. She had an oration that was simply amazing. The class was rapt, especially the men as she was indeed gorgeous and it was no time at all until the bell rang.
Everyone got up.
"Allison..." Harry said his voice cutting over the din to the girl in question easily, "...A moment." He said with a soft smile, reaching into the briefcase. It was a FAR cry from the usual backpacks in the place and probably cost a fortune. It was also expanded to hell and back inside and he slid out a thick file and then placed a large Tome on top, both had her family crest on them.
Annie hung around a moment, and then met Harry's Emerald regard. A rather flat look was sent her way. She frowned; thinking she had a way to go to make up some relationship of a working type after her little speech, then beat a retreat. Now wasn't the time. But it would have to be soon even if she had to flirt her ass off.
Allison slid into a chair beside Harry, her eyes on the folder and book. "Is that for me?"
"It is, and I have to say – I've become increasingly impressed with your family, at least until later generations. You have one HELL of a proud history and frankly your family is the last name in hunting. Your family pretty much set up the entire SOP for hunting and what to hunt and it's not until your grandfather that things started to get weird."
He tapped the file, "This is everything I could find, your entire family history, usually hidden or otherwise, and this book is the hunting guide written way back in France when you officially started. That said, from what I can tell your family hails way back into the Romany tribes, and they were there at the final battle with demons."
"Demons" Allison said her gaze snapping to Harry, "They are real? Pitch forks and all?"
Harry chuckled, "No – hardly, that's a weird Hollywood vision, no they are a LOT meaner than anything you've seen in a Disney movie, tend in some way to feed on humanity and not in the more gentle way the Fae do. They are scary, and your family know how to handle them and fight them. You've got DEEP roots my dear woman. So deep you make my family while still older, less ancient than I thought they were."
"How old is your family" she asked.
"That's not something I'm ready to tell" he said simply. "Let's just say before your roots helped kick the demons of the planet my family already were recording their genetic history." He smiled, "I'm proud to say it's highly likely one of my ancient ancestors was partnered with one of yours in the battle of Cl'ath'manae"
"That's a mouthful."
"From an ancient dialect, simply meaning the beginning of the start. Until that point we were living moment to moment, life times were terribly short and billions of humans were killed for sport. Then we rebelled and we rebelled HARD!" Harry said with a smile.
"One of my ancestors was probably standing next to yours, sending out some of the most potent battle magic ever dreamed of, while yours handled the cursing and healing. While others still ran battle tactics and hand to hand with things that could crush them with a single finger. It was a grand time, epic battles, epic struggles and I hope the world never has to do it again. We wounded Gaia to get them off the planet, and she's only just recovered some hundred million years later."
"That…is not possible, there were no humans then! Right?"
"Don't be wrapped up in modern science and history Allison. Magic and Science generally argue about who is right. I'm here to tell you, it's magic – not science. All traces of humanity were nearly wiped out, back to primordial ooze and we came back a long time later, crawling out of swamps into trees and eventually – we are perhaps a tenth of the way back to the grace we once knew."
Allison shook her head, "That's amazing…how do you know this?"
"I've got a source of information that was around back then, has ALWAYS been around, every place, everywhere, every time, just all of it. The word in any language and the only word ever invented that covers it is 'Versalial'."
"What does that mean?"
"Think bigger than universal, that there is not just one universe but in actuality billions and trillions of universes, sub universes, alternate realities and so very much more – that's Versalial." Harry said, "This is information that the world isn't ready to know yet…so keep 'mum' huh?"
"So why tell me?"
"So you understand that while the modern family you have is guided incorrectly…well, you have a LONG proud heritage that people here, they just can't possibly imagine. Be proud Allison! Be VERY proud! It also explains a few things to me personally about you, that have been bugging me like crazy." He said the last with a grin.
"Like what?" she asked, a feminine smile on her face.
"Like why you feel familiar. We're products of a billions year old breeding program you and I Allison, some familiarity was bound to happen. But that said, I'm stepping into my rightful position in the world – it's time you did the same."
He paused tapping the top of the Tome, and then continued, "The Argent family is very right thinking in my opinion. They aren't led by men, but by the women. You are the rightful Matriarch of the entire world wide clan and probably a few Romany tribes thrown in."
"Crap, I'm…just 17!" she said.
"I know, but you won't get much sympathy from me there. By rights I've been leading my family since I was 12 years old. I was just never told at the time, and unlike you, I have no other family, in fact – I have no family, period. My ancient noble house is all but dead; I'm the last one for the moment. You on the other hand have perhaps thousands of relatives both distant and more closely linked. I'm rather jealous of that."
Allison sat back, "Can I take that."
"Of course, I got it for you, read it, learn it, feel it Allison – this is YOUR heritage"
She nodded, and then smiled in a way that just melted him, "Thank you – I appreciate this – a LOT"
Harry smiled, "You asked for help, I granted it – it was nothing."
She took the file, wincing, "This is not nothing!" She said weighing it and the book, "This is a lot."
Harry smiled, "I've got a lot of very interesting contacts building, an entire network eventually and soon, something to help combat things around here, as well as help protect me from something I had to do in England that it turns out they aren't too happy about."
"If you need help…just ask."
"Well now…when you're the Matriarch of the Argent family, I may very well need that sort of help. But until then – let's just say this was a favour for a friend."
"Thanks Harry" she said slipping out of the seat. She then watched a tall blonde girl walk past her, and up to Harry. She paused just long enough to hear, "Hell Yeah!"
Harry looked at the blonde cheerleader and then smirked, "Alright then."
Allison rolled her eyes and then walked off. Now wasn't the time to get involved in that. Soon though, she may say that herself.
