The Misadventures of Caulifla and Kale: Episode Twenty-Two- "Friends Stick Together"
*Flashback- (Five Years Ago, Planet Sadala, Renso's Cabin)
After being saved by Renso and the SDF Elites, Kale find a new home with her new "friend." She's on the couch, in the living room, watching some TV. She feels off, being in this new home. She still feels sad for her parent's death and the fact that she was in the way of the falling building. Kale feels like their deaths were all her fault. Meanwhile, Caulifla, Renso's younger sister, is in the kitchen, trying to get something to eat. She's thinking of why Renso would allow a new girl into his cabin. Why would he just bring her to an orphanage on this planet. She sees a can of soda and grabs it. She later looks at Kale on the couch. She feels bad that her parents are gone and she has to be her friend. She wishes that she could do something for her. She grabs another can of soda and walks out of the kitchen. She jumps on the couch, next to Kale and gives her the can of soda.
Caulifla: Hey! (Gives Kale a can of soda) Do you like soda? It's my treat!
Kale: (Looks at the can of soda) T-Thank you.
Caulifla: You don't have to be that sad! I know how you feel about your parents, but that doesn't mean that you have to be this sad about it! (Pats on Kale's back) You and me are going to have a good time together! (Smiles)
Kale: (Looks at Caulifla with a worried expression) I d-don't know. Renso, your brother, should be home and he says that we're going out for lunch.
Caulifla: He'll change his mind, saying "We can't go out today, because of work I have to do." Like that.
Kale: (Nervously laughs) I guess that makes sense. It happened yesterday.
Caulifla: Before he gets back home, how about we go outside and do some fun. Right?
Kale: Hum…
Caulifla: Come on! You need the excitement! (Jumps off of the couch) I'll show you how to be fun and open-minded! You'll like it! (Runs to the door)
Kale: (This girl is weird. At least she's not treating me badly, like the children around my area. Oh...Wait...they're gone. Along with my parents…) (Sees Caulifla leave the cabin) Okay. If she says that we should have fun, then we should have fun. (Jumps off the couch and runs to the door)
Caulifla and Kale are outside, starting their fun. Caulifla's first game is using an old shopping cart that she found in a dump and riding it down a hill. Kale, at first, is scared of going on the cart, thinking that it might break and one of them will get injured. Caulifla persuades her to do it for fun and she promises that she'll save her, if things get too bad. Kale believes her, because of how kind Caulifla is to her. The two get on the cart and wait for the strong wind to blow them down the hill. Once it does, the cart goes down the hill at a high speed. Kale is screaming to the top of her lungs (In fear), while Caulifla is also doing the same thing (In excitement). The cart hits a tree and sent Caulifla flying to the ground. Kale is able to stay on the cart by holding onto it tightly. She sees Caulifla on the ground and goes after her. When she does get to her, Caulifla gets up and starts laughing. "That was bad-ass! Let's do that again!" said Caulifla. Kale is still curious of her behavior towards her. It seems like she wants her to have more fun. They do this for thirty minutes, until Renso comes home from his mission. They run to the cabin with some dirt on their clothes. Renso sees this and says to them to clean up. They're going out for lunch. One hour has passed and Kale and Caulifla are in the play pen in a restaurant. Renso is making a call to one of his teammates, while they're playing. Kale is having a good time in the jungle gym. Caulifla doesn't like being in here, because of how boring it is. Their "boring" funtime turns into some enjoyment, when a small group of saiyan boys see Kale and throw some colored balls at her.
Kale: (Gets hit by a red ball) Ouch! (Rubs her head)
Saiayn Boy#1: Hey! Right here! (Throws another ball at Kale)
Kale: (Dodges the ball and looks at the boys) That's not nice to do that! Stop!
Saiyan Boy #1: (walks up to Kale) Or what? You'll beat us up!? Hahaha!
Kale: (Looks away) M-Maybe, but I don't know how to fight.
Saiyan Boy#2: Hahaha! She can't fight! (Points at Kale) This is going to be too easy!
Kale: (Steps back and starts running) AHHH! Don't hurt me!
Saiyan Boy #1: Go after her! (Chases Kale)
Caulifla: (Swings from the swing) This is soo boring! Renso send us here for lunch! He better make the next time more fun, because I don't like playing her-
Kale: Caulifla! Help me! (Gets behind Caulifla)
Caulifla: (Looks at Kale) What's wrong, Kale?
Saiyan Boy #1: (Looks at Caulifla) Hey, girl! Do you want to be next?
Caulifla: (Looks at the boy with an angry expression) What did you just call me!?
Saiyan Boy#1: I just called you a girl! Girls on this planet are weak and don't know how to defend themselves. That's why most of the men are more stronger than girls. If you not want to get punched by us, then you can kiss our feet! (Slides his foot to Caulifla)
Caulifla: (Grunts, while getting off of the swing) That's it! I'll show you that girls are more powerful than boys are! (Looks at Kale) Right, Kale?
Kale: (Makes a shy expression) Um...I-I c-can't f-f-
Saiyan Boy#2: Hahaha! That girl behind you can't fight! She's useless!
Caulifla: Don't worry, Kale. Just stay behind me. I'll take care of them for you.
Saiyan Boy#1: Oh! And what are you doing to do about it?
Caulifla: (Grabs the boy's arm and throws him to the other side of the jungle gym) That!
Saiyan Boy #2: It was just at throw! What else to you have?
Caulifla: (Makes an obvious expression, while charging her attack) You have three seconds to get ready, before I shot.
Saiyan Boy #2: (Runs towards Caulifla) Hhhhhaaaaa!
Caulifla: I'd warned you!
(Caulifla beats up the rest of the saiyan boys with ease)
Caulifla: (Walks to Kale) That takes care of the nuisance! (looks at Kale) Kale?
Kale: (Shyly looks at Caulifla) Y-Yes, Caulifla?
Caulifla: Is it true? You don't know how to fight.
Kale: I-I don't. I want to fight like my dad, but he didn't get the time to teach me. He's gone and I'll never get the chance of learning to fight for myself.
Caulifla: (Puts her hand on Kale's shoulder) I'll teach you how to fight. Friends always stick together and that's what I'm going to do. We'll be sisters in arms. From now on, you'll be my friend to the very end. Got it?
Kale: (Smiles at Caulifla) Okay, sis!
With that said, the two girls leave the play pen and start their long friendship. Every morning, Kale would get lessons from Caulifla in fighting. They would later have some fun and talk to each other. This keeps going for at least two years.
Planet Sadala, SDF Headquarters (Two Years Later/*Three Years Ago in flashback)
In the headquarters, Renso and his team are in the Negotiation room, talking about their next mission. Since he doesn't have the time to get a watcher for Caulifla and Kale, Renso brought them along to the headquarters, so that he can still watch them, while doing his work. Meanwhile, outside of the Negotiation room. Caulifla and Kale, who are both ten years old, are sitting at a table. Caulifla is mostly bored of sitting here and not doing anything fun. Kale is sitting there, looking around the place. She likes the area with it's white designs and clean floors. Caulifla's stomach begins to growl for food, making her moan. She can't wait any longer. She has to leave this table and find something to eat. She sees a cook with a tray of food in his hands. He leaves the area and into what seems to be the kitchen. Caulifla wants that food, but has to convince Kale to join her. She knows that her friend is a good person, but how long is her brother going to be in that stupid room. She taps Kale's shoulder to get her full attention.
Caulifla: Kale!?
Kale: (Looks at Caulifla) Yes, Caulifla? Are you okay?
Caulifla: No! I'm bored and hungry! I just saw a cook with a tray of food and he went into the kitchen. Maybe we should get a "little" snack, before my brother's meeting is over. What do you say?
Kale: I don't know, Caulifla. Renso said we should stay on this table for a little while, until he gets out of that room. (Points to the Negotiation room)
Caulifla: (Rolls her eyes) You and always sticking to the rules! Look...I promise as a sister in arms that we'll be back, before his meeting is over. Okay? (Clasps her hands and makes a pleading expression) Please!
Kale: (Looks away) Maybe...She did said that we'll just be getting a small snack. Hum… (Looks at Caulifla) Okay! Promise that we'll be right back, before his meeting is over?
Caulifla: (Puts her hand on her chest) I promise!
Kale: (Smiles) Okay! Let's go! (Leaves the table)
Caulifla: Hell yeah! (Leaves the table)
Caulifla and Kale leave the table and follow where the cook went. Them leaving is bad timing, because Renso's team is done with their meeting, right after they left. They said their good byes and go to their normal business. Renso comes out of the room and looks at the empty table. He makes a shocking expression, knowing that Caulifla and Kale are missing. He has to find them and give Caulifla a punishment. He already knows that she's behind this, not Kale. He turns left, for which is the wrong direction and tries to find the girls. Back to Caulifla and Kale, they reach the kitchen. Caulifla peaks out of the door and sees a bunch of cooks, cooking some food. She sees the same tray of food on the table, along with a larger tray of food. Her mouth drools for a little, but she wipes it off. She tells Kale that they need to get the two trays of food and go to a hiding spot. Kale nods, knowing Caulifla has an answer. The two saiyan girls wait for the cooks to leave for their lunch break. Once they do, they run into the kitchen, grab the trays and leave the area. They see an area underneath a flight of stairs and place the food there. Caulifla opens the two trays and sees two piles of meat with and without bones. They hit the mother load! She and Kale eat right into the juicy piles of meat. This goes on for thirty minutes, until both of their stomachs are bloated with meat. Caulifla is on the floor, rubbing her stomach with pride. Kale is doing the same thing, but in pain, since she ate a pile of meat. She later sees a pile of bones on two trays and ask Caulifla, if they should clean the pile up.
Caulifla: Huh? (Tries to get up and looks at Kale) What do you mean by "clean up?"
Kale: (Tries to get up and looks at Caulifla) I mean...should we clean this pile up, before anyone sees it?
Caulifla: (Looks at the pile of bones) Hum...You're right. We don't want anyone to be suspicious. (Walks to the trays and picks one of them) Let's put the trays back into the kitchen, before any of the cooks figures out that we ate them.
Kale: (Grabs the other tray) Okay.
The two walk to the kitchen and put the trays back to the right places. As they walk back to the area, they see that a boy is there, looking at the drops of meat juices on the floor. He has a blue outfit on, has black, spiky hair with one bang on the left side of his face, and black eyes. Caulifla makes a worried expression, while Kale makes a confused one. She was going to ask the boy about the mess, but Caulifla pulls her to a corner to talk.
Caulifla: Kale! Don't do it!
Kale: Why not?
Caulifla: (looks at the boy and then back to Kale) Because he's the student to my stupid brother.
Kale: Oh! You know him?
Caulifla: Yes! His name is Cabba and he does not want to see us!
Kale: Why? He's our age and doesn't seem to be curious.
Caulifla: Because...If he knows that we ate the meat and left the area, then he'll tattle-tell on us through Renso!
Kale: Ahh! (Makes a scared expression) That's bad news! (Looks at Cabba) Or maybe… (Rubs her chin) We could make up the story and he won't.
Caulifla: Huh!? What do you mean?
Kale: I mean that we ask him that the meat juices came from something else. He won't tell on us and we can still have some time to get back to the table and not get into trouble. Does that solve your question?
Caulifla: Umm...Maybe you are right. If he understands the story and not tell on us, then we might be save. You're a genius, Kale! (Smiles)
Kale: (Blushes) T-Thank you!
Caulifla: Now, let's meet this nerd! (Walks to Cabba)
Kale: Coming! (Walks after Caulifla)
Cabba: (sees Caulifla and Kale) Hi, Caulifla! How are you doing here?
Caulifla: Hmph! Doing fine!
Kale: (Looks at Cabba) H-Hi, Cabba. My name is K-Kale.
Cabba: (Looks at Kale) Hi! I was walking back from the training room and saw these meat juices on the floor. I was wondering who or what might had been here, eating meat.
Caulifla: Oh! About that. We saw an animal and it went to the outside of the building. It must have been hungry! (Looks away)
Cabba: (Rubs his chin) It makes sense. So...Where's master Renso? I want to know if we should continue the training in his cabin.
Caulifla: He's still in his meeting.
Cabba: Oh. He's in the negotiation room. I'll show you where it is. I'll tell him that we have a hungry animal around here and he should take care of it. (Walks to the negotiation room)
Caulifla: (Breaths in and out) Good! He's not telling on us! Come on, Kale! We're going back! (Walks after Cabba)
Kale: Okay! (Walks after Caulifla and Cabba)
The three saiyan children go to the table section and wait for Renso to be "done" with his meeting. Renso does come back from searching for Caulifla and Kale, only to see them and Cabba on the table. He takes some deep breaths, before getting interrupted by Cabba. He says of the animal eating some meat and might be outside of the building. Renso tells his pupil to not worry about the animal, saying that it might have been hungry and left to go home. He later looks at Caulifla and Kale with a serious, angry expression. They see him and shake in fear. Cabba says that he should go to his cabin for their training, since he's done with the meeting. He only smiles at his pupil and says that he's invited. Afterwards, the four leave the headquarters and go to Renso's cabin.
Planet Sadala, Renso's Cabin
Renso is in the backyard, training with Cabba, while Caulifla is washing some dishes for what she done in the headquarters(Excluding her eating the meat from the kitchen). Kale is in the living room, watching TV. She's not in trouble, since Renso doesn't want to hurt her feelings. After their training is done, Renso tells Cabba to relax in the living room. He has to make a call to his team about the mission. Cabba runs to the living room and sits on the couch, startling Kale. Caulifla comes into the living room with wet spots on her t-shirt and sits on the couch next to Kale.
Caulifla: Ugh! That brother of mine! He told me not to leave the table and wait for him, but doesn't he know that I hate waiting.
Kale: (Looks at Caulifla) Well...at least he doesn't know about the other incident.
Caulifla: You mean the meat and that fact that we- (Looks at Cabba for a few seconds) Oh! You mean that one!
Kale: Caulifla! You almost spilled it!
Cabba: (Looks at Caulifla and Kale) Spill what? I don't see any spills on the couch.
Kale: (Looks at Cabba with a nervously happy expression) No! T-There's nothing wrong here!
Caulifla: (Looks at Cabba) So...I've heard that you're going to this Sadala Defense Academy in a couple of years.
Cabba: Yes! Renso just mentioned the school to me, saying that it's the best school for any saiyan to go to be a SDF Elite. I'm going to be the best Elite on this planet and make my dreams cone true!
Kale: (Smiles) That's a good dream to have.
Cabba: Thank you, Kale!
Caulifla: We're not here to talk about our dreams! We're here to make some fun! Let's get outside and play.
Kale: Really? Will Renso know that you didn't do the floors of the kitchen?
Caulifla: (Makes a worried expression) Hehehe!
Cabba: I'm sure that Master Renso will understand. Let's do it! (Leaves the living room and cabin)
Caulifla: (Jumps off of the couch) Write a letter to Renso and tell him that we're outside. (Leaves the living room and cabin)
Kale: (Sighs) Okay.
Kale writes a letter to Renso, before leaving the cabin to get to Cabba and Caulifla. The three children are playing normal games, such as "Hide and Seek" and "Tag." Kale is still nervous that the real story behind the meat juices might be revealed, but she doesn't have to worry about it. Just as long as Cabba doesn't know and she and Caulifla will be save. They keep playing for twenty minutes, until Renso comes out of the cabin with an angry expression. He yells out Caulifla's and Kale's name and tells Cabba to go back home. He understands and he leaves the two girls to face Renso's "Situation." Before he could hang up, he hears another ring. He picks up the phone and notices that the cook from the kitchen is on the line. He says that someone ate two trays of meat for the soldiers and he suspects that it's his sister that done this. Renso was about to say that an animal was responsible for the incident, until he remembers that Caulifla and Kale left the table, after his meeting was over. He makes an angry expression and says that he knows who's behind the incident and hangs up. In the cabin, Renso is sitting on a stool, in front of Caulifla and Kale, who are on the couch. He's still making the same angry expression on his face. Caulifla is not so worried about how her brother feels, but Kale is shaking in fear. She's completely worried of what will happen to them, if he figures out.
Renso: Caulifla! Kale! Do you two know why I called you inside of the house? (Crosses his arms)
Caulifla: (Shakes her head) No. Got no clue.
Kale: (Shakes in fear) N-No.
Renso: Well...I got a call from the cook at headquarters and he says that someone ate two trays of meat for the soldiers. I was going to say that an animal ate the food, but then I realized…
Caulifla: (makes a curious expression) Realized what?
Renso: You two left the table, after my meeting was done! I kept looking for you and then you were there with Cabba.
Caulifla: (Gulps) Y-Your meeting was over. How long was the meeting!?
Renso: I told you that the meeting was about thirty minutes.
Caulifla: Heeeh (Looks away)
Renso: Caulifla!
Caulifla: I might have...left and played with Kale for a while. (Looks at Renso with nervous sweats)
Renso: (Leans close to Caulifla) Tell me the truth. Did you ate the two trays of meat, while I was gone?
Caulifla: (Makes a nervous expression) …
Renso: Did you!?
Kale: (looks at Caulifla and Renso) (Sis...I can't let her take the blame. I was with her, so...If anyone should be in trouble, then it should be me!) (Looks at Renso) Brother Renso?
Renso: (Looks at Kale) Yes, Kale?
Kale: We did leave the table, because we were hungry, but...It was my idea that we leave the table and eat the meat. Caulifla is innocent. (Looks at the floor, depressed)
Caulifla: (looks at Kale with a sad expression) Kale…
Renso: Kale...You don't have to take the blame.
Kale: (Looks at Renso with a surprised expression) What?
Renso: I'll tell the cook that you two did it, but it was my fault that I didn't get someone to watch you two, while I was in the meeting. I'm sorry for yelling at you. I don't want to hurt your feelings.
Kale: It's okay, Brother Renso. (Gets off and hugs Renso)
Caulifla: Right! It's completely your fault that you didn't get a watcher for us! (Makes a funny smile, while rubbing her head)
Renso: Caulifla...You are going to be grounded, if you don't apologize for what you done and hug me and Kale. (Looks at Caulifla)
Caulifla: (Grunts) Damn it! (Gets off and hugs Renso) I'm sorry that I ate the meat and involved Kale into it!
Renso: Good! I have to make the call and take the blame for it. You two watch some TV. (Walks to the kitchen)
Caulifla: (looks at Kale) Kale...Thank you for the help. I never thought that you would take the blame for me.
Kale: (Looks at Caulifla) It's nothing. I wouldn't want you to be sad and you did gave me some lunch. (Smiles) So everything is fine with me!
Caulifla: (Smiles) Yeah! Maybe, when we're twelve years old, we could start our own gang and do whatever we want! (Grabs Kale's arm) You in?
Kale: Yes! I'm in!
That's exactly what they did two years later. Caulifla and Kale go to an abandon headquarters, hired some thugs, and start their own gang. Their gang would steal good and treasures for pleasure and money to buy food. Caulifla becomes an infamous gang leader and prodigy for her amazing skills. Kale becomes Caulifla's sister in arms and always follows her rules. The two never argue and they always stick together. "Friends always stick together. Me and you are going to be the best in the universe. Right, Kale?" are Caulifla's words after the tournament of power. "Of course! We'll always be sisters in arms...to the very end!" are Kale words back to Caulifla. With that, their friendship is solid and will never break.
