The Last Jedi

Chapter 4: Masters

We see Luke in his Jedi robes now, approaching the Jedi temple with a torch in hand.

But he felt a presence close by.

He turned, and saw three familiar faces.

A small green alien, an old bearded man, and a middle aged man with gray hair.

The spirits of Yoda, Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

Luke, "Master Yoda. Ben. Father."

Yoda, "young Skywalker."

Ben, "I wish we saw each other in better instances Luke."

Luke, "I'm ending all of this. The tree, the text, the Jedi. I'm going to burn it down."

Anakin, "heh, go right ahead?"

Luke was shocked for a moment, but turned to the temple to complete his goal.

But he hesitated.

That's when all three Jedi used their power to destroy the temple with a strike of lightning!

Yoda laughs in joy, "ah, Skywalker, missed you, have I."

Ben, "we can still find ways to surprise you, hmm?"

Luke tried to run in and grab whatever was in the temple, but was launched away by the fire.

As Luke say up, he said, "so it is time for the Jedi Order to end."

Yoda, "time it is. For you to look past a pile of old books, hmmm?"

Luke, "the sacred Jedi texts!"

Anakin, "oh, you read them?"

Luke, "well, I…"

Yoda, "page-turners they were not. Yes, yes, yes. Wisdom they held, but that library contained nothing that the girl Rey and your children do not already possess."

Ben, "my granddaughter took any scrap of knowledge she could. As did your son and daughter."

Anakin, "a trait we Skywalker's seem to often show."

Yoda, "Skywalker, still looking to the horizon. Never here, now, hmmm?"

The little ghost pokes Luke with his walking stick.

Yoda, "the need in front of your nose. Hmmm?"

Anakin, "sadly, you got that from me."

Luke, "I was weak. Unwise."

Ben, "we have all made mistakes. Every Jedi has."

Anakin, "I trusted the most powerful Sith Lord in order to save your mother."

Ben, "I put blind faith in the teachings of the Jedi."

Yoda, "lost Ben Solo, you did. Lose Rey, we must not."

Luke, "I can't be what she needs me to be."

Yoda, "heeded my words not, did you?"

Luke, "always be afraid of seagulls?"

Yoda, "no."

Ben, "sticks are better than bacon?"

Yoda, "no…."

Anakin, "don't fall asleep while training?"

Yoda, "idiots, you all are! No, pass on what you have learned. Strength, mastery. But weakness, folly, falure, also. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is. Luke, we are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters."

Ben, "as I trained Anakin and you, I faced that burden as well."

Anakin, "as did I, when I took Ahsoka under my wing."

All four master's stood together as Luke contemplated on what he would do next….

….

Finn, "four parsecs to go."

Rose, "I just hope we're in time."

Finn held her shoulder with a kind look as he said, "we'll get this done. I promise."

Rose gave a grateful smile, and as their faces got closer, they heard DJ grunt, knocking them out of their trance.

Rose asked, "uh, you can actually do this, right?"

DJ, "yeah, about t-that... G-guys, I can d-d-d-do it. But there exists a pre-'d-do it' conversation about p-p-price."

Finn, "don't you work for Lando?"

DJ, "yeah, b-b-but I'll need some form of compensation for m-my services."

Rose, "once we're done, the Resistance will give you whatever you want."

DJ, "what you got deposit-wise?"

Finn, "are you kidding me? Look at us. I don't have a single pebble to my name."

DJ saw Rose's necklace. Finn didn't like the stare he gave.

DJ, "is that Haysian smelt? That's something."

Finn, "no, we gave you our word. You're gonna get paid. That should be enough."

DJ, "guys, I wanna keep helping. But no something, n-n-n-no doing."

Finn, "okay, listen here, you've gotta..."

Rose tossed the necklace with a pained look to DJ.

Rose, "do it."

DJ, "now I can help."

Finn was furious as he said, "give it back."

DJ, "what?"

Finn, "give it back! You have no idea how much that medallion means to her. What are you... Why are you ransacking your own ship? It's not your ship."

DJ, "d-d-do you personally own this ship?"

Finn, "no, but-"

DJ, "then it's n-not your ship either."

Finn, "it doesn't matter. Whether it's our ship or not, we're using it for something good. To help our cause live another day, so we can finally bring peace again. I've been running from this fight for a long time. Well no more. I'm not running again."

Rose found herself in awe at Finn's words. When they first met, she had thought him a traitor after all he did in the past few days.

But now, she looked at him as if he were a war hero.

DH, "Finn, let me l-l-learn you something b-big. It's all a m-m-m-machine, partner. Live free, d-don't join."

Rose spoke up next, "that's your policy. Ours is, peace can't be achieved unless we fight for it. They call us scum, but if it's rebel scum, I'll take pride in it!"

Finn found himself staring at Rose with admiration.

DJ, "ugh, whatever."

They crew was in silence as they continued forward.

….

The Resistance's next-to-last ship is blasted away by the First Order.

Peavey, "that was the last of their support ships. It's just their main cruiser now."

Hux, "and their fuel reserve?"

Peavey, "by our calculations... critical."

….

Aboard the Raddus, Poe grows concerned about the plan.

Poe, "but what if our plan doesn't work, the transports are unshielded and unarmed."

Ackbar, "that's why we need Finn and Rose to accomplish their mission. If they do, the First Order won't be able to catch us on their scanners."

Holdo, "you have to trust us Poe. We aren't going to take such a major gamble with so many people on board."

Poe only gave a nod as he left the bridge.

Later, he calls Finn and Rose.

Poe, "the evacuation is gonna happen soon. Where are you?"

Finn, "Poe, we're on our way back to the fleet. We're so close."

Poe, "did you find the Master Codebreaker?"

Finn, "we did, but he couldn't help us, so he lent us one of his best code-breaker's. We can shut the tracker down. Just buy us a little more time."

Poe, "all right, hurry."

….

Aboard the Millennium Falcon, flying at lightspeed.

Rey and Owen are getting into two rectangular pods.

Padme, Mara and Chewie stand nearby.

Even several Porgs, including Thumper, were huddled in various areas of the ship.

Rey, "as soon as I launch, you jump back out of range. Stay there until you get our signal for where to rendezvous."

Owen, "if you see Finn before we do, tell him…."

Chewie groaned what he should say.

Rey, "yeah, perfect. Tell him that."

Padme, "I don't like sending you two there. I should be going with you!"

Owen, "sorry sis. But if he gets his hands on all three of us, things should get bad."

Rey, "we can't risk it. If something happened to us, you'd be one of the only Jedi left."

Mara and Padme gave the two one last hug before they sent them off.

The two pods rocketed towards the hangar of the Star Destroyer.

With Kylo Ren waiting with several troopers.

….

DJ, "c-cloaking our approach. We should b-b-be off their scopes. Then we s-slice a slit in their shield. B-b-b-b-blip b-b-bloppity b-bloop, and slip right through."

Rose and Finn gave apprehensive looks at DJ as the ship through the shields unseen.

….

Poe, "Finn and Rose have made it on. Now we have to give them time."

Holdo, "have all transports on standby for deployment. We'll give them as much time as we can, but we can't make any promises."

Ackbar, "may the Force be with us all."

….

We see Finn, Rose and DJ all disguised as First Order officers, with BB-8 having a can over him to disguise his appearance.

They slowly made their way towards their destination.

….

We see Kylo Ren with Rey and Owen handcuffed.

With both of their sabers in hand.

Rey, "you don't have to do this. We feel the conflict in you."

Owen, "it's tearing you apart. Ben, when we touched hands, we saw your future. Just the shape of it, but solid and clear. As clear as we see you now."

Rey, "you will not bow before Snoke. You will turn. We'll help you. We saw it."

Kylo, "I saw something, too. Because of what I saw, I know when the moment comes, you'll be the ones to turn. You'll stand with me. Rey, I saw who your parents are."

Owen and Rey both stood side eyed as the doors before them opened, revealing Snoke and his guards there.

Snoke, "well done, my good and faithful apprentice. My faith in you is restored. Young Rey. Young Skywalker. Welcome."

….

Finn, "so this is it? The tracker's right behind this door."

DJ got to work, using Rose's necklace to help open the doors. He handed it back to the girl, who looked grateful for the act.

DJ, "Haysian smelt. B-b-best conductor. And you're welcome."

Rose turned to Finn, "good time to figure out how to get back to the fleet?"

Finn, "I know where the nearest escape pods are."

Rose, "course you do."

Finn, "hey, I apologized!"

That's when they got a call from poe.

Poe, "BB-8, tell me something good."

Finn, "Poe, we're almost there. Have the transports prepped for escape."

….

Poe said, "got it."

Poe addressed Holdo and Ackbar, "Admirals, they made it. Get everyone ready to head to the base."

Ackbar and Holdo gave nods as everyone for ready.

C-3PO rushed over to Poe, "Commander Dameron, I must inform you-"

Poe, "hold on a sec Threepio!"

….

Rose, "we're running out of time."

Finn, "come on, how's it going?"

DJ, "almost there."

….

C-3PO, "Commander, we cannot keep the ship steady if someone doesn't stay behind!"

Poe gave a grim look, "I'll do it."

….

Poe, "Finn, we're ready to evacuate!"

Finn, "now or never."

DJ, "now."

Finn, "you're up."

They opened the doors, but found themselves surrounded by troopers lead by Phasma.

Trooper 1, "you there, hands up!"

Trooper 2, "watch 'em, watch 'em."

Trooper 3, "drop your weapons, now!"

Trooper 4, "hands up, Rebel scum."

Trooper 3, "get down! I said, down!"

Phasma approached, sounding smug, "FN-2187. So good to have you back."

….

Poe, "no! They didn't make it."

Holdo, "what now flyboy?"

Poe, "we're just gonna have to gamble. I'll stay behind to keep the ship going."

Suddenly, the door burst open.

And standing there was Leia.

Poe, "Leia?"

Leia quickly stunned Poe.

The others were shocked as she said, "I'm not letting anyone else die for this ship!"

….

A rebel announced, "please board the transports according to your evacuation designation. All transports must be cleared..."

Poe was on a gurney as the operator said, "okay, help me push him up, guys."

Holdo, "that one's a troublemaker. I like him."

Ackbar, "many good soldiers back in the days of the Empire acted like him."

Leia, "I like him too. Now, time to board your transport."

Holdo, "for the transports to escape, someone needs to stay behind and pilot the cruiser."

Ackbar, "since Finn and the others were taken captive, the only way to keep them off of the transports is to distract them."

Leia, "too many losses. I can't take anymore."

Holdo, "sure you can. You taught me how."

Ackbar, "I've already fought in two wars General. I don't think I can last another."

Leia and Holdo, "May the Force be..."

Leia, "you go on. I've said it enough."

Holdo, "May the Force be with you always."

Pilot, "we were able to get the cloaking device activated. We should be off their scopes long enough. It's a pity we had to use these as a last resort, given how faulty they are."

D'acy, "let's just hope this works."

….

Snoke, "come closer, children."

Snoke used the Force to bring Rey and Owen closer to him.

Snoke, "so much strength. Darkness rises, and light to meet it. I warned my young apprentice that as he grew stronger, his equal in the light would rise. Skywalker... I assumed. Wrongly. Instead, it's Kenobi's granddaughter, and Skywalker's children. Closer, I said."

Rey and Owen are brought closer against their will."

Rey, "you underestimate Luke Skywalker, and Ben Solo, and us. It will be your downfall."

Owen, "none of our fates are set in stone!"

Snoke, "oh... have you seen something? A weakness in my apprentice. Is that why you came?"

Snoke called the sabers to him.

Snoke, "young fools. It was I who bridged your minds. I stoked Ren's conflicted soul. I knew he was not strong enough to hide it from you. And you were not wise enough to resist the bait. To see your past, and your future. And now, you will give me Skywalker. Then I will kill you both with the cruelest stroke."

Rey, "no."

Snoke, "yes. Give me everything."

Rey, "No! No! No!"

Owen, "you cruel bastard!"

Both of them screamed in pure pain and agony as they were held in the air.

Kylo Ren turned his gaze away.

….

Poe woke up going, "no. No. No, no, no!"

Leia, "Poe."

Poe saw his general and ran to her.

Both looked to see the planet they were approaching.

D'acy, "the mineral planet, Crait. An uncharted hideout from the days of the Rebellion."

Poe, "that's the Rebel base?"

D'acy, "abandoned, but heavily armored with enough power to get a distress signal to our allies scattered in the Outer Rim."

Leia, "Holdo and Ackbar knew the First Order was tracking our big ship. They told everyone so no-one would freak out. They're not monitoring for little transports. But that mission we sent Finn and Rose on would have helped any chance of them figuring out our plan."

Poe, "so we could slip down to the surface unnoticed and hide till the First Order passes. That could work. I just hope Finn and Rose will be okay."

Leia, "I'm sure they'll be fine."

Poe, "but, what about Ackbar and Holdo?"

Leia, "she and Akbar were more interested in protecting the light than they were seeming like heroes."

...

We see Holdo and Ackbar on the bridge.

Prepared to give their lives to save their cause.

Holdo and Ackbar, "Godspeed, Rebels."

….

Finn, Rose and DJ were all being held captive.

Hux, "well done, Phasma."

Phasma looked to DJ and said, "you should have taken the ship and payment."

Rose, "wait, what?"

Hux, "oh yes, rather than take the credits and ship we offered, he made it harder on himself."

DJ, "heh, you guys r-r-rubbed off on me. We got caught and I didn't cut a d-d-d-deal."

Phasma, "instead, we had to pull the information out the hard way."

Finn, "what do you mean?!"

An officer spoke, "sir, we checked on the information from the thief. We ran a decloaking scan, and sure enough, 30 Resistance transports have just launched from the cruiser."

Hux, "he told us the truth. Will wonders never cease?"

Rose and Finn looked at DJ as a tear came out of his eye, "I'm s-s-sorry. I was weak. Lando n-never should've sent me."

Rose, "no."

Hux, "our weapons are ready?"

The officer, "ready and aimed, sir."

Hux, "fire at will."

Finn, "wait. No, no. No, you can't!"

Rose, "no!"

….

A pilot messaged Holdo and Ackbar, "Admirals, we're taking fire! Do we turn around?"

Holdo, "no, you're too far out. Full speed to planetfall. Full speed!"

Ackbar, "go as fast as you can!"

….

Rey and Owen crash to the floor.

Snoke, "well, well, I did not expect Skywalker to be so wise. We will give him and the Jedi Order the death he desires. After the Rebels are gone, we will go to his planet and obliterate the entire island. And whatever Jedi remain. Tano. Kestis. Bridger. They will also fall to the First Order!"

Rey and Owen tried to run at Snoke, but are sent over to the windows, to see the First Order attacking the transports.

Snoke, "such spunk. Look here now. The entire Resistance on those transports. Soon they will all be gone. For you, all is lost. Ooh. And still that fiery spit of hope. You both have the spirits of true Jedi! And because of that, you must die."

As Snoke sent them to Kylo Ren, he said, "and a pity. I had hoped the girl would be just like her other grandfather…."

Rey grew a confused expression as Owen felt dread at the cryptic words.

Snoke, "my worthy apprentice, son of darkness, heir apparent to Lord Vader. You shall fulfill the will of our Master. Where there was conflict, I now sense resolve. Where there was weakness, strength. Complete your training, and fulfill your destiny."

Little did anyone see, the blue saber beside Snoke slowly began to move.

Kylo, "I know what I have to do."

Rey, "Ben."

Owen, "please, don't!"

Snoke, "you think you can turn him? Pathetic children. I cannot be betrayed, I cannot be beaten. Just as my own Master could never truly be beaten. I see his mind, I see his every intent. Yes. I see him turning the lightsaber to strike true. And now, foolish children, he ignites it, and kills his true enemy!"

Suddenly, the saber right next to Snoke activates, splitting him in the middle as Kylo sends the saber to Rey, who grabs the saber in mid-air. Owen summoned his own saber as the guards surrounded the three force users.

A furious battle took place, the three force users slowly making work of their foes, all three of them working like a well oiled machine.

….

As this occurred, the Rebels were desperately trying to make their way to safety as the First Order kept firing on them!

….

Soon the battle ended as Rey tossed Kylo Ren the saber, allowing him to kill the final guard.

Rey, "Ben! The fleet. Order them to stop firing. There's still time to save the fleet. Ben?"

Owen didn't like the look his cousin gave as he stared at the lifeless body of Snoke.

Kylo, "it's time to let old things die. Snoke, Luke Skywalker. The Sith, the Jedi, the Rebels... let it all die. Rey, Owen. I want you to join me. Padme as well. We can rule together and bring a new order to the galaxy."

Rey, "don't do this, Ben. Please don't go this way."

Owen, "this isn't a good path to take!"

Kylo, "no, no. You're still holding on! Let go! Do you wanna know the truth about your parents? Or have you always known? And you've just hidden it away. You know the truth. Say it. Say it."

Rey grew a despaired look as Owen could see what his cousin was doing.

Rey, "they were nobody."

Kylo, "they were filthy junk traders who sold you off for drinking money. They're dead in a paupers' grave in the Jakku desert. You have no place in this story. You come from nothing. You're nothing. But not to me. Join me. Please."

Rey seemed to consider it before Owen said, "bantha crap."

They looked at him.

Kylo, "excuse me?"

Owen, "what you said makes no sense. If they had a shuttle, why would they sell her for drinking money? And if they left the planet, why would they be dead on Jakku? And most importantly, since her grandfather is Obi Wan Kenobi, why would they just leave her. You're lying Ben!"

Rey looked at Kylo, seeing the look on his face.

He had been caught.

Rey, "what do you know?"

Kylo, "SkyWalker told you of your mother and who she came from. But what of your father?"

Owen and Rey both grew apprehensive of what Kylo said.

Kylo, "your connection to the Force. It doesn't just come from Kenobi. Your father came from a powerful Force user as well."

Owen dreaded the answer, as he remembered his vision.

Owen, "and who was it."

Kylo, "Sheev Palpatine."

Rey felt sick to her stomach as she learned the truth.

She wasn't just a Kenobi.

She was also a Palpatine.

She felt weak in the knees, but it was Owen who kept her from falling.

Owen, "how? How do you know this!?"

Kylo, "the Master Snoke served, and who I serve, has known this for years. His spirit has been piloting his own carcass for years now. Trying to regain his power. But if we join together, we could end him. And bring order to the galaxy!"

As much as Owen and Rey wanted to take Ren's outstretched hand, they couldn't.

They tried to pull the blue saber towards them, but Kylo began pulling it towards him as well.

As their power met in the middle, trying to take the saber for one another, the saber cracked!

Sending all three of them back as a loud crack was heard throughout the whole room!

….

A First Order officer said, "sir, the Resistance cruiser's preparing to jump to lightspeed."

Hux, "it's empty. They're just trying to pull our attention away. Pathetic. Keep your fire on the ship was turning right in their direction.

….

Phasma, "execution by blaster is too good for them. Let's make this hurt."

Rose, "Finn."

Finn looked to Rose.

They both reached out to one another, taking each other's hands as two troopers were ready to kill them.

DJ, "hey, if we m-m-make it outta this, I'm gonna b-b-b-buy you two all the b-blue milk you want."

Rose and Finn gave a morbid laugh, despite the situation.

Phasma, "on my command."

….

Connix, "they're running away."

Poe, "no, she isn't."

….

Peavey, "no!"

Hux, "fire on that cruiser!"

Peavey, "sir, we are receiving a message from the cruiser!"

They answered, hearing Holdo and Ackbar.

Ackbar, "General Hux? This is Admiral Ackbar and Vice Admiral Holdo!"

Hux, "what do you filthy rebels want?"

Holdo, "do you know what this is?"

Hux, "what? All I see is your damned cruiser?!"

Holdo, "this is something my old friend holds great knowledge over…."

Ackbar, "this. Is. A. TRAP!"

….

Phasma, "execute."

But before the Rose and Finn could have their heads sliced off….

….

The Star Destroyer was split in two as Ackbar and Holdo sacrificed their lives to destroy the ship, illuminating the space around them, as the crash made absolutely no sound.

Instead of it just being Yoda, Obi Wan and Anakin show up as well! And I used the OG Anakin in Return of the Jedi, not the young one.

And I hope you guys caught the references to Bad Lip Reading.

Also, since Finn and the others didn't steal a ship, the conversation changed up a bit. As well as no mutiny on the Raddus.

Ackbar and Holdo both give their lives to save the others.

I'm kinda using the idea that HISHE and others have used for what should've been Ackbars death.

And instead of DJ betraying the others, he is tortured into giving the information.

And finally, we reveal the rest of Rey's heritage as the granddaughter of Obi Wan Kenobi and Palpatine! Revealing her connection now I think is a better idea, so it sits better.
