With Petal...

"So the magic that you carry..." Star started off saying. "...You use it mainly for nature?"

"Yes." Petal said, answering the ninja's question.

The three girls were walking down one of the many corridors in the castle, talking about how life is on the island, as Star asked. Star had her hands behind her back, while Petal was to her right. Tulip was right behind the two, following them down the halls, coming into the conversation, time to time

So far, Star only asked about the magic that the elves use around the island. She was surprised upon hearing that the elves use their magic for only nature, and not using it for fighting or defense. To her, it would've been unlikely to hear that such magic would exist, but after what she had seen during her fight with Pine-Cone and Leaf, she honestly couldn't believe she actually saw it herself.

"We sincerely apologize for Pine-Cone's behavior back there when he came into the castle." Petal said. "Us elves here use our magic for only good rather than use it for fighting, and he doing what he did, it's irresponsible."

"No need to apologize." Star said, not looking at Petal as they were walking. "If the tables were turn, I would've done the exact same thing." Petal smiled, as they stopped at the door at the end of the corridor.

"I'm glad you're willing to forgive him on this one, Star." The ninja frowned, before turning her direction towards the elf leader now.

"I must say, however, that I do take responsibility for what had happened last night as well. Pine-Cone might've started a fight earlier today, but that still doesn't excuse my actions that nearly resulted his death." The ninja bows her head. "My apologies once again, as I only thought he was an enemy of mine instead of...an elf." She stood back up, as Petal nodded her head.

"All is forgiven there, Star. But...I must ask..." The ninja then raised an eyebrow, wondering where the elf was going to ask. "You mentioned somebody who betrayed your village, yes? I assume you mistook Pine-Cone for him, I believe." The elf finally asked the question that she's been meaning to ask the ninja about. "Just wanting to know for the safety or the elves, as well as the animals, who exactly is the person that you were referring to?"

Star places her hands behind her back, as the group entered the next room. It was going to be hard talking to the two elves about what had happened before she arrived here, even before she made left her own village. But for the safety of the rest of the elves, she decided to speak about it, just as they entered the next hallway.

"His name is Growl..." Star said, coldly. "...When we were younger, he was probably one of the only companions I had after my mother had disappeared in the forest near our own village. He and I were not always close, but we were indeed, good friends." She glares down at the ground, speaking more about what had happened in the past still. "I will never figure out why he had snapped, but when we were in our teenage years, he had began to started acting...irrational about a couple things. Nobody thought it was a big issue, until I ended up finding him in the village's garden...a sword welded in his hands...after he had taken the life of the leader of the village's ninja tribe." Star balled her fist, glaring down at the floor. "...The leader of the ninja tribe was my father..."

Petal and Tulip's eyes widened hearing all of this. "Oh my..." Tulip said, saddened at hearing the last part being said.

"The bastard stared at me after I had arrived, not showing any sign of regret for his actions." She felt tears forming in her eyes as she continued. "After all of that, he had done that, the village had demanded him to leave for good and never returned there again. Since then, I became the leader of the ninja tribe, in protection of my village's king and queen."

"Then what happened?" Petal asked.

"A couple months later, Growl somehow was able to get his hands on the Blade of Destiny without any of the ninjas looking. I vowed to go alone in order to try to return the sword and bring Growl back to the village so that he could be rightfully punished for his actions." Star looks out the nearest window, as the three stopped in their tracks again. "As I said before, I succeeded in doing both of those things, until the cargo ship somehow sank."

"So...you found yourself on this island, while he..." Tulip started to say, before Star interrupts her.

"Growl's whereabouts is a mystery to me at the moment, however, I know he isn't foolish enough to not get the mask back on his head if he were to fall into the ocean. I was able to do so also, but underwater...each resulted in parts of my mask being damaged." Star shook her head, as she held onto two parts of the window-sill. "Growl is either lost, floating out there in the middle of the ocean now, or he had drowned...but either outcome, I feel like he had gotten away with what he had done. He betrayed the village, and killed my father in cold blood, despite knowing that my mother was still missing, and he was my only parent I had left."

Star almost wanted to cry mentioning all of this, but kept herself together as she continued to stare out the window. She closed her eyes for a few seconds, before turning her head towards Petal and Tulip before her. Tears were drying up in her eyes as she spoke to them.

"The only good outcome that came out of what had happened was he indirectly made me became the leader of my father's ninja tribe, which was something I strived for...but even than...I still don't feel like what had been given to me was a reward." Star said. Petal cringed hearing that, as she stepped forward to the ninja.

"My word...if it makes you feel any better, I know how you feel, Star." Petal said. "Becoming the leader of the elves, I also felt like it was going to be the best thing in my life, but...at the same time, it costed me my grandfather, who died of old age...who was king at the time." She felt a tear rolling down her face. "Trying to keep nature in balance while protecting the elves and animals here, while my deceased grandfather being apart of my memories has been...difficult to say the least. Nobody said being a leader means that it's the best thing in the world."

Star took a deep breath, before staring out the window again. "As much as I appreciate the sentiment, I can not say that we completely relate, Petal. Your grandfather died of old age...he wasn't murdered by a close friend of yours, who had betrayed your trust." The elf queen looks down, rather saddened by that being said. "If have investigated the forest last night, and all I can tell you is that Growl is nowhere on this island. I don't know where he is, but it appears that he has most likely have drowned out there in the middle of the ocean."

Tulip looks out the window next, before shaking her head. "I sure hope so...I can't imagine somebody like him lurking around our island." Tulip said, looking very worried about their safety still.

"I hope so too, Tulip." Petal said, looking just as worried as she was. "I just hope to the Gods that he doesn't somehow find his way onto our island...if he's still alive..."

Meanwhile...

With Leaf once again...

"You live in this house?" James asked. "It looks so basic compared to my house."

Looking around the living room area of Leaf's house, it really was just a couple chairs, a table, a wooden bench, and a radio that Leaf happened to have took with him after Preston and Esma were defeated. As for the kitchen, it was really just counters and some food being out in the open. Most of the food was just fruits or vegetables, and that's really it. Nothing was really impressing James or Jenny all that much.

"Yeah...I know...my house isn't all too cool." Leaf said. "I mean, the only real cool things that are in my house are the items that end up falling off the cargo or cruise ships, and most of the items are upstairs." Jenny places her hands on her hips as she looks over to the elf.

"I totally forgotten that's a thing you do. Petal told me all about that when we were off to go save you and Makoto when Preston and Esma had kidnapped you." Jenny said. She points at the stairs, raising an eyebrow at the elf. "Are you sure that Petal is okay with you just taking all of that stuff and keeping it for yourself?" Leaf shrugged his shoulders, leaning on the stair-rails, smiling nonchalantly.

"The other elves don't see use in a lot of things that the humans use, like say my jukebox upstairs. Thankfully, I'm always around to take them for myself."

"I guess the elves didn't like a lot of stuff that ends up appearing on the island out of nowhere, huh?"

"Nope. I mean...let me show you dudes something that I can't believe the other elves didn't want around our village, like, at all."

Leaf held up a hand. He closes his eyes, causing a bunch of purple light to engulf his entire hand, making something appear in it. From the looks of it, it seems to be a Walkman, along with a set of headphones.

"Can you believe that the king and Petal think that THIS thing is some sort of danger to our island?" Leaf asked them, before he gets down to the floor. "Or better yet..."

Leaf points at the ceiling, the magical purple light still engulfing his entire hand when he pointed up there. A disco ball suddenly appeared in that exact spot. Leaf lowers his hand, as he points up at it, smiling at his two human friends.

"This thing, I think the humans call it a...'disco ball', yeah?" Leaf asked James, who nods at the question. "I mean...this stuff is so cool, and...I'm absolutely surprised that those guys think that this stuff are not worth keeping around the island. Can you guys believe it?" James crossed his arms, before he shook his head.

"Well, can't exactly say anywhere has those things anymore." James said rather bluntly, despite the smile on his face. "But...hey, still cool that you have all these things, right?"

"Totally right on that one, dude."

"Totally."

Jenny walks over to the radio. "So...does this thing still work after you just took it from...wherever you found it?" Jenny asked.

"It totally does, Jenny. Trust me." Leaf said. "Let me show you."

Leaf held up his hand, as he snaps his fingers, causing one of the buttons on the radio to glow purple. The radio turned on, as Leaf closed his eyes, smiling as he was expecting a happy song to start playing for him this time. But...sadly after he used magic to turn it on, the song 'Everybody Hurts' by R.E.M. started to play on the radio instead of a happy song as he was hoping for.

The elf turned his head towards the radio, almost glaring at it. "Are you kidding me?! How many times is the world going to outright mock me for not telling Petal my true feelings for her?!" Leaf shouts, seemingly ready to just punch the radio for playing this song right now.

James and Jenny looked at each other for a couple seconds, before James started running over to the radio to turn it off for Leaf. The geeky man turns the radio off, then turns to face Leaf once again. "You know what? I think we stayed in this house long enough." James said, hoping to try to focus on something other than Petal at the moment. "Hey, Leaf...you said that there's animals on this island, right? You think you can show us them around the forest?"

"Sure. That sounds like...a totally good idea." Leaf walks over to the front door, allowing his friends out so that he can introduce his friends to some of the animals on the island.
