The next chapter is posted! Enjoy :)
Angel lost track of the time they have been stuck on this planet. Only idea she had was since she been stuck here, she had her period three times. So she can only estimate that they been here around three months. She's also been keeping her distance from Frieza, since that stint back during her first bathing fiasco. And he was back to being his usual asshole self.
She can also tell his patience was chipping away little by little each day. It's funny, how someone as intelligent and sophisticated as Frieza; could act so puerile and immature at times. Three days ago in his anger, he decimated a good portion of the forest down below. It was reckless and callous. But she understood his frustration and anger.
Mainly because they seemed no closer to finding a way off this planet, anymore than they did when they first arrived. Another concern of Angel's is that the familiar tingling feeling came back and she felt the pull of the Daigon Sphere's mystical energy. It still felt like it was far away. But it felt a little stronger and closer each day. Normally, she would've been happy at the thought of finding one of them.
After all, they had the power to send her back home. It was rather ironic that in this whole entire universe, the planet they happened to randomly crash on; coincidentally had one of the spheres on it. But right now instead of feeling happy, she was concerned and worried. Because she also knew Frieza was trying to get his hands on one of them too.
Another thing that irked her, was how she didn't notice before that he wore a thin metallic band around his right wrist. It was even more odd, because as far as Angel knew, Frieza never wore any clothing or jewelry of any sort. When she inquired him about it a few nights ago, he shrugged her off and lied about it. For the most part, it's still hard to tell when he's lying. But sometimes if she's lucky enough, she'll catch him in that lie. So when Angel asked about it again, he snapped at her, and told her to mind her own business. She stopped prying shortly afterwards.
Angel also learned a few new things about this world since she's been here. For one, it strongly resembled the tropics as it has been hot and humid everyday since they got here. Which wasn't always pleasant. Flying in it just about all day everyday; was a pain in the ass. She wouldn't be too surprised if she sweat off a few pounds from the heat alone. But the weirdest thing of all was, she never once got sunburn. Which was a blessing for her. She's no stranger to sun poisoning. It can be rather painful and dangerous.
It was around twilight now and soon they will find a spot to settle down for the night. Angel only hopes it could be by water. Because she was really getting thirsty. She was looking down as they flew. Trying to see if she could spot any sign of water. She may as well tell Frieza, to keep a look out too.
"Hey, try to keep an eye out for any body of water. I don't know about you, but I'm thirsty as hell. We can also stop by there for the night to rest." She shouted ahead to him.
Frieza didn't say anything. But Angel knew he heard her, when he briefly glanced back over his shoulder. They flew for probably about another half hour. Until they spotted a stream down below under the canopy. So that's where they both headed. Just like all the previous stops, they were surrounded by beautiful scenery. Like always, Frieza made a look of disgust as he looked around their new surroundings. Once Angel asked him why he would do that sometimes when they landed.
Eventually, he told her because some of the scenery reminded him of Hell. This spot by the stream was probably no better. Lining the stream on both sides, were wildflowers that stretched all the way to the nearest trees. The forest was teaming with all kinds of insect sounds, including crickets chirping. But by now, they knew looks could be deceiving. Because they had quite a few close encounters with some more predators during their stops. Angel almost touched what Frieza identified as 'poisonous' flowers.
Whether that was true or not remains to be seen. A part of her called him out on bullshit. But he was fairly adamant they were.
"No matter what planet your on. Something with bright vibrant colors like that; tends to be poisonous." He stated.
Angel just snorted and said, "Whatever."
That wasn't the only time they debated with each other. They also still occasionally gotten into fights, because they both can be rather temperamental at times. Usually, Angel would come out with more injuries. But that didn't mean she never got off any good hits on him. He had a nice share of cuts and gashes himself. Frieza would end up teasing her afterwards; and call it her 'psycho mode'. Which only fueled her annoyance more.
The stream was quite shallow. Which made it very easy to see the fish traveling upstream. Angel knelt down by the water's edge and cupped her hands. The water was cool and refreshing. Leading her to take several handfuls. Frieza settled on a nearby rock. Afterwards, Angel took some water and threw some on her face. The unusually large moon, was bright and full tonight. It made the scenery even more beautiful, both to her delight, and to Frieza's dismay.
She then got up and walked over to the rock he was sitting on.
"Your not thirsty?" She asked.
He shrugs. "I'll drink some water later."
Frieza didn't say anything else for a moment. He then finally asked her the question he's been wanting to ask her for the last few days.
"Just how much training did you have with those monkeys?" He finally asked.
Angel arched a brow. "What?"
He sighs, "You told me sometime ago during conversation. That you have been training with my old foes Goku and Vegeta. How long have you been training with them?"
She went and sat on another rock nearby.
"You mean before you conveniently came and took me from earth? I'd say over a month, maybe closer to two. Why do you ask?" She asks.
Frieza leaned back slightly. "Because your fighting style is a little confusing. It's very accurate for the most part. But at the same time, it's rather sloppy, and clumsy. It's as if your still getting use to the strength and speed you possess. Reminds me of a young child who just discovered their abilities and are still acclimating to them as they train for the first time. But your no child. Had you any previous training before meeting the saiyans? Because it doesn't look like you have."
Angel looked up at the moon.
"I have some background in kickboxing. But before I met Goku and Vegeta, I haven't practiced it in a long time. So I guess compared to you guys, I am an amateur." She paused and turned her gaze back to him. "But obviously, you already knew that."
He smirked slightly. "Yes, but you still have yet to give me answers, as to why you don't seem acclimated to your strength, speed, and power. Why is that?"
She looked down at the flowers in front of her feet.
"Because, before I came to this universe. I didn't have any of this power. It's still strange. I have lived my whole life without this power. And then, as soon as I find myself in this universe; it's like a switch has been flipped. And suddenly, these powers manifest. A lot of it seemed to happen once Lord Beerus and Whis informed me that I was a Kandusai.
Which I had no idea what that was. I kept telling them that they were mistaken. It wasn't until I blocked an incoming hit from Whis, did I start to see otherwise. That and blasting Goku through a thick metal wall and a few dozen trees." She added.
Frieza's eyes widened.
"I'm sorry, did you just say you blocked a hit from Whis?" He asked, in surprise.
She blinked a few times.
"Yeah, why?" She asked dumbly.
He veered his head back slightly, like she just grew another head.
"Why? Because it's not everyday someone can successfully block or deflect a hit from a divine being. And you make it sound as if it were no big deal." He exclaimed.
"Of course, I knew it was a big deal. Took me a while afterwards to get over the shock. Think even Lord Beerus was just as surprised as I was." She stated.
"And you truly don't know a thing about your race?" Frieza asked.
Angel crosses her arms. "I know they were an ancient race of superhumans. That they were just as strong as the Saiyans and your kind. And that your asshole of an ancestor wiped them out, because he was afraid of them. So, it looks like the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree. Considering you eradicated the Saiyans for the same reason. Because you were afraid of them."
Frieza snorts. "Is that all they told you? You mean to say they didn't tell you the other reason why Froze destroyed your ancestors birth world?" He snapped in annoyance. Seeing he was still seething from being called out on being afraid of the saiyans.
She sat up straighter. Curiosity flashed through her blue/gray orbs.
"And what other reason was that? He throw a tantrum when their King didn't invite him to the ball or something?" She asked sarcastically.
Frieza gave her a knowing smile, that made Angel a little uneasy on what he was about to say.
"Actually, it did have to do with Planet Kandu's Royal Family. More preciously, their Princess. Don't get me wrong. A lot of it did have to do with them growing in power. But the other reason was because, the Princess spurred Froze's advances. And he didn't take the rejection quite well. Even when he asked King Silas for his daughter's hand in marriage, he refused Froze's request. That right there signed the planet's death warrant." He informed her.
Angel shot to her feet, rage was ever present on her face.
"Are you fucking kidding me? He threw a hissy fit like an overgrown child! All because a young woman refused him!? I must say, your family truly is fucked up in the head! It's one thing to not be able to take rejection well. But that should never warrant decimating an entire race!" She yelled.
Frieza also got to his feet and stood in front of her.
"No, it's what we do when someone gets in our way. Like the Saiyans, the Kandusai were growing in power. They could've turned their backs on us and become a huge threat to our race. And he certainly wouldn't have that. So he eradicated the threat." He snapped.
"You can twist it however you want. It doesn't change the fact, that your all nothing but murderers and monsters. The only real threat was your ancestor. And the reason why the Saiyans stood up to you, was because they were sick and tired of being your goddamn slaves. So could you really blame them for rising up against you? No race likes to be ostracized and controlled by another. When that does happen, of course a war, revolt, or revolution will happen. Because no other highly intelligent beings are meant to be controlled by another." Angel declared.
He shot her a glare. "You don't get it. Power is control. What is the point of keeping all that power in, if we can't reinforce it on others to show them where they stand in the pecking order of the universe? And as far as intelligence goes, your kind may have been well endowed with knowledge. But the Saiyans were brainless brutes. Ones who'd know sooner, charge head first into battle without a good solid plan or strategy. Putting them out of their misery was the best thing that could've ever happened to them."
He couldn't say anymore. Because next thing Frieza knew is that he was sent flying backyards. Angel sucker punched him in the face. Which sent him sailing back into not one, but cut through several tree trunks before coming to a full stop. As he got up, she appeared in front of him and slammed her knee into his face. Blood gushed from his nose, making him even more pissed than he was before.
Frieza swung a fist her way. But Angel ducked and retaliated with an uppercut to his chin. The move caused his head to snap back. But not for very long. Because he threw it back forward and headbutted her in the face. She pulled back with a small yelp. And he took advantage by punching her in the gut, knocking her back several meters.
She winced from the hit but then quickly charged back at the tyrant. They exchanged blows for the next several minutes. While their hands were locked trying to force the other back, Frieza spoke again.
"You know, in many ways the Kandusai were not much different from the Saiyans and Arcosians. Your kind craved battle as much as we do. That's what your feeling right now isn't it? The yearning for a good fight. The satisfaction of victory. It's in your blood." He said, through clenched teeth as he tried forcing her back.
Not admitting out loud that he was starting to struggle a bit. He forgot that like the Saiyans, the Kandusai also get stronger with each battle.
"Shut the hell up! You don't know the first thing about my kind! And you definitely don't know a damn thing about me!" She snapped.
Frieza smirked. "I know enough. I also know you won't be able to hold out much longer. So, I'll give you an option. Desist with this fight now while your ahead. Or we keep going until I knock you out. And I'll tell you right now. I won't be quick about it."
Angel growled and tried to force him back. Her bright orange aura flared around her like a flame. It worked for a few moments and Frieza was getting pushed back, almost to his knees actually. Getting more annoyed and angry at this new development, he too powered up. His bright reddish/purple aura mixing with hers as they try to one up the other. To Frieza's shock, his power up wasn't doing the trick and he was still losing ground.
"Enough of this!" He snapped.
Then there was a bright yellow flash and a few moments later, he was in his golden form. This seem to do the trick and soon, Angel was the one being forced back. After a couple minutes he brought her down to her knees. But even then she didn't give up. Losing his patience, he threw her hands out last second, causing her to lose her balance slightly. Shock and confusion decorated her face.
And before she had time to get back up. He slammed his fist into her temple, knocking her unconscious. Or so he thought. His mouth parted slightly in surprise, when he noticed she was still conscious. But it did stun her. Quickly getting over his shock, he threw his arm back, and hit her upside the head again. This time, she did get knocked out.
When it was all over, Frieza powered down. He stood there for the next minute or two, looking down at the girl. He was huffing and puffing a bit from the exertion she put him through. Then what he did next even surprised himself. He picked Angel up bridal style and walked with her back to their spot by the stream. Frieza stood there and looked down at the unconscious young woman.
"If there is one thing I'll admit. It's that your quite a unique fighter. Truly one of a kind." He said, before he laid her down in a bed of flowers.
Frieza knew she was going to wake up the next morning with one hell of a headache. And most likely be cranky as hell too.
With that in mind. He figured he better get some rest too, while he still had the time. Might as well be well rested, before facing the music in the morning. Whether or not it turns into another fight has yet to be seen.
Looks like Angel is more special than Frieza initially thought. It will be fun to see how things develop now. Until Next Time ;)
