"Da-daa!" called Trunks from the doorway.
Bulma turned around and stepped away from Vegeta's scorching flesh, leaving her feeling cold and alone. Vegeta didn't fight her retreat from him. The burning look of desire in his eyes made her heart skip and her own desire burn for him, but the look fell away and was replaced with one of surprise. Almost like he didn't know why he was there, then realizing he had witnesses to this embarrassment, he let his cold detachment slide over his features.
"Da-daaa!?" Trunks called again, snapping his parents out of their state of shock.
Turning around Vegeta saw his son walking, WALKING, towards them. Him really, if the name he was calling was any indication. Pride bloomed out of Vegeta and he walked to his son at an unhurried pace. Choosing to ignore the women cooing at how adorable they thought his son was while he too his unsteady first steps.
At the second call from her son Bulma's hands flew to her mouth as her eyes began to water. Her son, Trunks, had spoken his first word and now he was walking straight towards them. She caught the look of awe and pride on Vegeta's face when he had turned to see Trunks waking. As she watched father and son walk towards each other, this moment so bittersweet it moved her to tears.
It filled her heart with such joy that Vegeta was getting to have both of these firsts, she was glad she was getting to whiteness it too. With how much she worked she hadn't been sure she would be able to be home to see any of these. Then to get them on the same day and have Vegeta be the objective of both was overwhelming in the best way. He had lived such a terrible life and had given up on being able to have children or even a normal Saiyan life-which she assumed was similar but with less luxury, more fighting, and a ton more bloodshed-and that made this moment all the more special. She couldn't be jealous of him in this.
All three of the other women froze when Trunks called out for his dad. Then when Bulma pulled back, Candi finally noticed Vegeta and the three friends all exchanged glances, looking between each other and the non-couple with the crazy chemistry. When Trunks called again, all eyes shifted to him and the women all let out awes and oos at getting to whiteness the boy's first steps.
Trunks was not happy that he had been left in the kitchen and without any food to boot. His father had set him down and was about to reach into the big shiny box that the food lived in when he had stopped mid-reach and walked out the door. Scouting to the wall he walked to the open door his father had left through Trunks stupid there for a minute looking at all the people in his yard. He recognized his auntie Liz but the other two were unfamiliar to him, and where was his mother? Watching his father walk away from him he could see the blue hair of his mother peeking out past his father. He didn't want them to argue again so he did the only thing he could think of, he called for his dad to come back to him.
Overjoyed when Vegeta began walking towards him Trunks tried to run and seven steps into the run tripped over his own foot. The ground approached him very fast with his momentum and Trunks closed his eyes and tried to brace himself for the impact with the paved walkway. The impact never came, instead, Trunks connected with a strong hand to his chest and a warm arm beside his face. Opening his eyes he looked up into the obsidian depths of his father's.
Vegeta saw it happen in slow motion. His son's exuberance at his approach, followed by the excited rapid movements of the child's little body. The trip that removed the excitement from the boy's features and the realization that the child would probably fall on his face as he wasn't ready to fly. Moving in an instant Vegeta crouched and reached out, catching his son on his palm.
Lifting the child from the near ground Vegeta looked Trunks in the eye, "Form over speed son. Once you perfect a skill in the slowest of movements, you can begin to increase the speed at which you execute such a move. This applies to all things in life, including walking. Patience, we would not want to mar a royal face." lifting trunks back up onto his feet, Vegeta waited until the child was steady before standing back up and walking beside the boy to return to the kitchen to find sustenance for the child.
Bulma had run to save Trunks but had only made it a few steps and stopped to watch Vegeta save the boy. She didn't understand the language but some of the hand signals she recognized from Vegeta's lessons in Saiyan sign language. He had told the boy to slow or something along those lines. She still couldn't believe they had their own language it made her exceedingly happy that the cold aloof prince truly did love their son, and maybe her too?
She shivered again and gasped at the phantom feeling his body had left behind. It felt like it had been forever since she felt his hands and wondered when the last time had been. Her hands flew to her mouth when she realized the not since the night she had told him to never touch her again had he actually touched her. Did he really respect her that much, that even after a whole week of having to be near her when she was hornier than a teenager he hadn't touched her until today?
A gentle breeze picked up the string of her bikini where it hung by her hip, and Bulma looked down and saw it has half untied. Her eyes widened in embarrassment and the realization that she was THAT bikini. Quickly she fixed the bow and took a few deep breaths to fight back the memory of when they had played in the pool and Vegeta had pinned her against the edge before Yamcha had caught them. She couldn't really be mad at Vegeta for touching her, that day held a lot of special meaning for them. That was the day she had finally admitted to herself that she was falling for Vegeta, and the day he had shown her how he felt about her when he'd encouraged her into his lap to snuggle. That's not to mention how he had played with her, protected her, allowed her to pull him back from skinning Yamcha, and the prince had even admitted he knew Bulma's pain. The bluenette had successfully repressed her blush but now her eyes were watering all over again.
Behind the family moment between the members of the Briefs household, Candi skipped over to Lizz and Danna. Her smile was wide with equal parts triumph and amusement.
"Yesss!" she said as she plopped her butt on the footrest section of the lounge Danna was sitting on.
"What did you do?" Lizz questioned her friend.
"Let's just say I might have pushed him to act finally," Candi giggled and quickly related her interaction with Vegeta from the day before.
Vegeta had been training in his transformed state when the proximity sensor flashed. Checking the monitors he saw the purple-haired female approaching the ship with a large container that he assumed was his breakfast. It made him smirk a sneering grin that despite her remarks of earlier she herself was serving him. He flew up into the sleeping chamber hoping she would just leave the food and go, but when she leaned over the gravity controls he jumped down on silent feet to interrupt her possibly killing herself with the gravity.
"What the hell are you doing in here?" he barked.
Candi stood straight up with a start. Had this guy been in there watching her this entire time? Turning slowly she held up the container of food. "I brought you your food so Panchy didn't have to play at being your slave this morning."
Vegeta stiffened at the affront of someone thinking he treated the older woman like a slave, or that he would even condone slavery. True, he had joked about it in the past but he would soon just kill someone than allowing them to become subservient to another being. The Prince of Saiyans saw most of the beings he had killed in his decades-long career as a planet conqueror as a mercy kill, living under Freiza was worse than death. Clicking his tongue he crossed his arms and looked away from this female that didn't deserve an explanation.
"You should consider being nicer to that woman, she seems to think very highly of you," Candi dropped the food on the pilot's seat. "I don't see it," she added with her own sneer.
"You know nothing of me," Vegeta couldn't believe anyone thought he was mean to Panchy still. In his eyes, he was nicer to her than he was to Bulma most of the time. He was one of the few people that knew there was a mind beneath that blonde crown of curls, and he respected the woman for her insight and bluntness, even if she usually embarrassed him with it.
"Wrong," Candi said placing her hands on her hips. "I know that you knocked up my best friend and abandoned her when she was pregnant to go fly a spaceship around the solar system and you have never even apologized to her. Even after she opened her house to you and asks for nothing in return because she loves you."
"What?" Vegeta didn't dare believe that Bulma loved him even though everything else this woman was saying was true. Well, not the solar system part of her speech but he wasn't about to correct her, most earthlings didn't know that faster than light travel was possible.
"You heard me," she spat, "her and her family love you and the least you could do is show some fucking gratitude."
Vegeta couldn't believe the mouth on this female, it had been months since he wanted to kill someone and she was quickly pushing him to that edge, he opened his mouth to hell at her but she beat him to the punch.
"Don't tell me," Candi said holding up her hand, stopping his angry retort. "Prove it, to Bulma that you're not another womanizing Yamcha!"
"I'm nothing like that pathetic excuse of a man!" he yelled, clenching his fists so he didn't eviscerate the female that was Bulma's friend.
"At least we can agree on that," Candi said unconvinced Vegeta wasn't the same. She walked past him returning to the house, leaving the fuming Saiyan warrior to think about his actions.
"Wow, Candi," Danna said, watching Bulma struggle to compose herself as she stared after her son and his father. "You still love to poke the bears I see."
"Well, he let her know he wants her but I'm not satisfied, I want to test him," Candi said glaring at the large windows on the back of the house. "We need to push him further, Bulma can't get hurt again like she did with that scumbag ballplayer."
"Do you think testing him is really a good idea?" Lizz asked, she could see how the two felt about each other and after also watching Vegeta interact with Trunks she knew he was a thousand times better than Yamcha. "What if we drive him away from her?"
"Then he isn't really that serious about her," Danna said matter of factly to Lizz. "Weren't you just saying he was in love with her? What better way to find out for sure than to test him?"
"So you're in?" Candi asked Danna as the wicked grin spread across her face.
"Oh I'm totally in," Danna giggled.
"Good, I need you to try to seduce him," Candi commanded. "Tonight we should all come back here for the night and you should throw yourself at him."
"You guys this isn't going to work, he's not going to go for this," Lizz said, hopeful she was right. "Besides Bulma is going to be really upset either way this goes."
"What's wrong, Lizz? I thought he wouldn't go for it? Losing confidence in your convictions?" Danna goaded.
"Absolutely not!" Lizz pouted. "I'll bet he pushes you off and declares he loves B."
"I'll take that bet," Danna said triumphantly, the confidence she felt in not only her sex appeal but also in getting under Lizz's skin.
"What bet?" Bulma asked as she caught the tail end of the conversation.
"We are betting whether or not Gill is going to make it through the night without Lizz at home," Candi offered quickly. "I think he'll make it till midnight, Lizz has total confidence in him of course, and Danna doesn't think he'll make it through dinner."
"You're terrible Candi," Bulma smiled, oblivious her friends were lying to her. "I'm with Lizz. I think he can do it. If Vegeta can be this great with Trunks after only a couple weeks, Gill can make it one night."
The women stuck around for a little more than an hour lounging by the pool. When Trunks went down for his nap they left to go shopping and out to dinner. Each wanted to get a new outfit for the night of dancing ahead. They also spent time in the salon getting mani-pedis and their hair styled and make-up made perfect.
Bulma bought herself a very sexy dress. It was a satiny navy blue wrapped and ruched side dress with spaghetti straps, the two front panels of fabric crossed over each other giving it a very low cut over her ample breasts and raising the hem in the front to barely hide her black lace panties. She got a pair of heels that were charcoal grey lace-up bandage patchwork over her instep and ankle with snakeskin patterned souls and thin heels with a back zipper and heel support in the same snakeskin pattern in white greys and black. She wore a single diamond and platinum pendant necklace that just reached the top of her cleavage and platinum dual-bar dangle earrings.
Danna found a short rose gold sequin dress with chain straps and a plunging neckline and loose low cut back with a five-chain strap between the bottoms of the shoulder straps across her back. She paired it with clear two-strap wedges with rose gold glitter in wedges like a snow globe. A platinum choker about an inch thick and large hoop earrings.
Candi got a black mesh dress with a ruched bottom and a corset ribbed top with a built-in cup. The bottom consisted of three panels that ruched at the sides and in the back accentuating the generous curve of her ass. She wore black strappy platform stilettos with ties that went to mid-calf, and a black lace choker with an amethyst pendant.
Lizz tried to dress modestly in a knee-length dress with cap sleeves but the girls all booed her choice and scattered to find different picks, Candi returned with a metallic mini dress that was cut out under the bust and appeared to tie just below the plunging neck that came almost straight down from the frilly cap sleeves. Bulma came back with a high neck long-sleeved mini dress that looked like a sweater dress, but when she turned it around the back was cut out and the lace-up detail on one side. Danna picked out a black sheer flapper dress with beaded spaghetti straps. Lizz looked between all the dresses and back towards her dressing room mischief dancing through her green eyes.
A grin broke out on her face and she ran back to her dressing room without any of the dresses her friends had. She came back out in a pale golden sheer shift style dress with balloon sleeves, her pink underwear standing out against her dark skin under the thin fabric of the dress. A tie cinched the waist allowing the top to billow over a little, and gold strappy heels to match. Single gold bar earrings and she wanted to wear a gold bracelet that Gill had given her for their first anniversary. The round of applause from her friends drew the eyes of some of the other shoppers but she didn't care as she bowed in triumph at finding her own dress.
At the salon, Danna and Bulma got french tips with a high gloss finish for their mani-pedis. Bulma's hair was side-swept and volumized, her make up was a smokey cat eye with dark red lipstick. Danna's mid-length blonde hair was straightened and tied into a low tail over one shoulder wrapped with a length of the soft tresses. Her make up was all glittery with thick black lashes and sparkly lip gloss. Lizz got a pale neutral peach tone for hers. Her thick dark curls were trimmed, washed, and conditioned no styling needed as they were already perfect. Her make up was simple in whites and gold, pink lip gloss. Candi chose a dark shimmery purple color for her nails. Her short purple hair was styled up into a fauxhawk showing off her multitude of steel earrings, studs, and chains. She wore thick eyeliner and pink eyeshadow with a pale matte lipstick.
After they ate they flew back to Lizz's house for her to fetch her bracelet. Gill ogled his wife and told them they all looked incredible, he also called them a cab to pick them up and drop them off at Bulma's so no one would have to drive. Once they landed the cab driver called Lizz's phone and started giving the guy directions. Bulma stepped inside, she wanted to see if Trunks was still up and maybe give the baby a kiss, so she snuck into his room but he wasn't there.
"Mom, is Trunks already in bed?" Bulma asked as she reached the bottom of the stairs and walked into the living room to grab her purse and coat.
"No, dear, he's right here. Vegeta just brought him in," Panchy said and ushered Vegeta into the living room with her. Panchy plucked the tired child from Vegeta's arm and took him to her daughter. "He had a long nap today after all his walking around," she added seeing the displeasure at the late hour.
"Oh ho, did my little man practice his walking today? I'm so proud," Bulma said as she hugged her son and he threw his tiny arms around her.
"Mmhmm," Panchy said, stepping back she hinted with her eyes towards Vegeta.
Smiling Bulma knew she needed to talk to the prince of Saiyans. "Thanks, mom, good night," she said in dismissal. "And good night to you my little man," Bulma said as she squeezed Trunks in a tight hug. "You be a good boy for Grandma and go give her a hug too," she left the imprint of her red lips on his cheek and then bent down to set her son on his feet so he could practice more of his walking.
Vegeta's mouth was watering over the way Bulma looked, and he watched as Bulma embraced their son and kissed the boy, it was embarrassing. Mostly because it made him feel jealous of his son for receiving her affection. He turned to walk away in the direction of the back door.
"Vegeta?" Bulma stopped the Saiyan Prince from leaving the room and she stood from setting her toddling son on the floor.
Panchy scooped up Trunks and went back into the kitchen. "Have fun dear!" she called over her shoulder.
He turned back to her, worry and guilt all he could feel even though he tried to hide it with his expression.
Bulma took a few steps towards him, never taking her eyes from his. She could see the worry in them, and the tension in the muscles of his arms where they were crossed in front of his chest and the muscle that twitched in his jaw. "Thank you, for everything you do with Trunks. I'm happy I could be here for his first steps, and I'm thrilled he called you Dada," she smiled at him. The first genuine smile he'd gotten to see in days. "Also, I'm sorry for canceling our plans for last night. Maybe tomorrow evening after I put Trunks to bed we can get together?"
Vegeta felt undeserving of her praise but was pleased she wasn't kicking him out for laying his hands upon her. Then her admission knocked him off balance, she wasn't jealous? Her smile showed him she wasn't and her apology left him feeling disarmed. The Woman threatened his maturity by apologizing first. Even if it was only for one thing. "I'll meet you here," he nodded his head. "Sunday."
Again she smiled and nodded once, "Sunday. Sleep well, goodnight!" she finished as she rushed out the door.
He smirked at the now-closed door. Sleep? She expected him to sleep with her out of the house? He never did when she was out at night, not since he'd first come to this house. Shaking his head he headed out the back door to train until he felt her ki return to the property.
Bulma climbed into the cab where her friends waited and the hover vehicle took off into the city.
It was nearly two in the morning when the women all came falling and giggling into the Briefs house. Everyone's heels were kicked off into a heap of spikes and straps in front of the door. Lizz and Danna danced in circles through the formal dining room that was across the entry hall from the living room and into the den beyond it. It had turned into a gaming room and was where the Briefs hid most of Trunks' toys.
Bulma ran up the stairs to grab all the women clothes and blankets for the night. Candi took full advantage of her friend's distraction.
"Go," she pushed Danna to the door. "He's in the kitchen right now, Go!"
"Oh shit really?" Danna asked, checking her makeup and now loose beachy waves in the mirror. "Okay I'm going, I don't know if I want to win though," Danna added hesitating by the door. "I really want B to be happy ya know?"
"I agree, he didn't even notice the other women at the pool earlier, he only had eyes for B," Lizz added, still thinking this was a very bad idea.
"For the love of-here," Candi handed her Danna a bottle of vodka. "Take a drink and get your long-ass legs in there. We have to know he's not just another two-timing shit. That would make B happy!" she finished and shoved Danna out the door. Grabbing the bottle back she shut the door a bit too roughly.
He was in the kitchen getting himself some ice water and a small snack before he went to take a cold shower and go to sleep. The Prince felt a little better after Bulma asked to reschedule their...he wasn't sure what to call it. It felt like something important but he didn't have a word for it. He couldn't very well call it courting as they had already produced offspring, but it kinda felt that way. The thought of being alone with Bulma getting to ask her any questions he wanted, and her getting to ask him anything, excited, and terrified him at the same time. He felt nervous but also anticipated getting to spend time with her for enjoyment. Lost in his thoughts about the blue-haired bombshell he could sense upstairs he failed to notice the other small ki that was approaching him until the scent of the woman hit his nostrils.
He looked up from his position leaning against the counter and narrowed his eyes. This woman was one of the two he hadn't formally met. She was probably as tall as himself with long blonde hair and golden tanned skin. She reeked of alcohol and lust, and the look in her eyes was difficult to read. She seemed torn and almost hesitant but then it was gone as her eyes wandered his half-naked body.
Danna approached Vegeta, swaying her hips seductively as she did. She let her gaze wander his hard torso, trying to catalog the plethora of scars that marred the flawless form. Each one seemed to enhance her attraction to him. She could understand why Bulma liked the bad boys, this man seemed positively lethal. Stopping inches from him she reached out to touch the large X-shaped scar on his chest, but her fingers never connected.
Vegeta was watching the woman that was Bulma's friend as she approached. He had smelt her desire the second she had entered the room, but instead of reacting, he waited to see what she would do. Would she betray her friend and try to touch him? He understood that earthlings didn't understand their instincts and that a simple touch from another female could jeopardize his place with Bulma. Then again, Bulma was an earthling as well, would she even react with these instincts. When the woman in front of him stopped and reached her hand up, fingers extended to caress the scar on his chest. The Saiyan Prince caught her by the wrist, none too gently, and ceased her movements and growled out a warning to her.
Wincing at the pain Danna mistook his growl as an invitation and pressed her body into his. The heat this man gave off was practically inhuman and it made her core dampen with the wicked turn her thoughts had taken.
"I like it rough too, handsome," Danna purred against his ear and darted her tongue out to sweep it across the lobe and up.
Vegeta froze when she pressed into him, what was this female thinking? They were in the kitchen of the Briefs' house, any of the occupants could walk in at any time. Placing both of his palms on her shoulders he made to shover her off. Halfway through the move one of those occupants walked in, and to his horror, it was the one he wanted to the least.
"What the hell is this?" Bulma demanded, as all the cloth she carried landed on the floor. She had come to get a bottle of wine, but instead had walked in to find Vegeta with his hands on Danna's shoulders and Danna pressing into him, her head tilted, and only one of Vegeta's eyes visible to her. From where she stood it looked like they might have been kissing.
Vegeta finished shoving Danna roughly away from him and she drunkenly spun around to look at Bulma. She knew Vegeta had been rejecting her but she wanted to see how this conversation would go.
"What. The. Fuck. Are you doing?" Bulma directed her question at Vegeta.
"Me!?" Vegeta yelled, offended at her insinuation that he was an active participant in what was occurring. Not willing to give her the satisfaction of an explanation he sneered and hissed out, "If you cannot see it with your own eyes why should I explain it to you?"
Bulma gasped and placed a hand over her heart. Jealousy burning in her eyes, she tried to keep her tone calm, "Well you certainly weren't wooing her with your charms and charisma, cause you don't have any. It's not like that would stop you from walking around half-naked to seduce another woman, my friend, in my house! You're no better than Yamcha!"
"Um…" Danna said, trying to come to Vegeta's defense.
"Wha-what!?" Vegeta couldn't believe he was being lumped in with that worthless good for nothing. "You have some nerve, woman. That is a prosperous insinuation!" he shouted as he crossed half the distance between him and the blue-haired beauty.
"Excuse me," Danna, was beginning to think they had forgotten she was even there
"Oh please, you probably couldn't wait to meet another woman and take her to bed," Bulma shot back.
"Whoa, hold on," Danna said, but still neither one of them acknowledged her.
"I have heard you say many crazy things in the years I've known you but that has to be the most absurdly insane thing to fall from your lips to date." Vegeta was livid, how dare she accuse him of such a lowly act.
"Hey, don't call her crazy," Danna said to no avail.
"Fuck you, you selfish prick," Bulma's argument was deteriorating before her eyes, but she refused to believe he hadn't thought about it.
"He's telling the truth B," Danna was increasingly feeling like an unwanted third wheel.
"You would like that wouldn't you?" He would've loved it himself, but still, Vegeta baited Bulma.
"It's a figure of speech you stupid fucking monkey!" Bulma said defiantly.
"You are a vulgar, bitch!" Vegeta's control was slipping, he wasn't sure if he wanted to kill this succubus before him or pin her to the wall and plunge into her hot depths regardless of the other woman in the room.
"Wow, you guys," Danna said about both their arguing and the fact that they had seemed to completely forget she was still there.
"Well, if I'm such a bitch, why don't you just fuck Danna right here in front of me!?" Bulma had stepped into him and poked the Saiyan in the chest.
"BECAUSE I WANT YOU!" Vegeta yelled in her face. As the implications of what he said dawned on him Vegeta scoffed and stormed out of the kitchen returning to the gravity room.
Bulma stood there, her finger still raised in the air where it had been poking the Prince in the chest. The disbelief and hurt in those shining obsidian depths had been covered so quickly with embarrassment at his outburst, Bulma wasn't sure she'd seen it. The only reason she believed she had seen it was the fact that he'd said he wanted her. Vegeta still wanted HER, he didn't even care about the other woman that had been in the room. Bulma curled her finger back into her fist and sighed as a warm feeling began to build within her.
"Well, I guess that settles that bet. Night B," Danna said as she retreated to the den, Grabbing the discarded clothes and blankets as she did.
"What!? What bet?" Bulma yelled after her friend.
Notes: Yeah, I got nothing to say here. Leave the story some love! Until next weekend ;)
