Day 25: Headcanon Ryou. I don't actually know what Ryou Bakura's canon is concerning his family, but this is canon to the backstory I used in Coming Home. True drabble.
Restraints
In Ryou's nightmares about the accident, the radio was always playing. He could never make out the song, only Amane's enthusiastic singing from the front passenger seat while the rain beat down on the sedan roof. Then his mother's rebuke: "Sweetheart, turn it down, I'm trying to—"
He wondered what would have come next. Was she trying to concentrate? Trying to see?
She didn't see. The other car slammed into them with no warning, not even the flash of headlights. And then Ryou was hanging upside down, suspended by the restraint that saved his life.
While nothing saved them.
