The Reunion:
Ever since the day they spent time together as 49ers, Jay, Jason, and both Phillip have put aside their differences and became close teammates.
On practices, there were no arguments from Jay, Jason, Halpert, or Schrute. All four of them were firing on all cylinders, making Coach Larson proud. Impressed with the way Halpert and Schrute were playing by example and leading their team by example, he made them captains of the team, alongside Jay, Jason, Issac, and Logan.
Although the majority of the 49ers had a little rough time adjusting to the arrival of both Halpert and Schrute, they managed to get along, just like they did Jay and Jason.
While all of the 49ers were practicing on Friday, Coach Larson ended practice a little early for some good news.
While all of the players stopped what they were doing, they rushed in their practice gear, huddling around their beloved coach.
"All right, folks. That's all I needed to see form y'all today. But before we hit the lockers, I have a few announcements to make. The first announcement is that I've been very impressed with how all of you have been firing on all cylinders. The Buccaneers are a powerhouse. Ever since Tom Brady's nephew took over the Bucs as their starting QB, they have been undefeated like us. But that's all about to change," Coach Larson stated. "Second of all, I have been informed that one of our players is going to be a father. Who is it?"
Realizing that it's time that he can no longer hide this news, Jay reveals himself.
"What?! Holy shit! Jay?!" said a surprised #44 Nathan Sun.
"You're kidding me! He's too good-looking to be a dad!" said #72 Aaron Quill.
"I didn't see that coming!" said #97 Henry Bosa.
"Damn! That's awesome!" said #86 Lawrence Hudson.
"Congratulations man!" said #82 Jordan Malone.
As Jay walked toward the center of the hole created by the huddle, Jay announced that he's going to be a father.
"Coach's right! I'm gonna be a dad! But guess who I'm married to," Jay challenged.
"Wait a second. Isn't it that woman who was with you when we had the scrimmage on Tuesday? #55 Issac Martinez asked.
"Yup. And guess who that woman is," Jay hinted.
A realization dawned upon #98 Percival Brewer.
"Holy shit! You're married to Astrid Levinson, the gorgeous Oscar-winning actress?!" Percival asked.
"Yup. Been married to her secretly for 3 years," Jay proudly announced.
"Bruh! Congratulations on the marriage and being a parent!" Percival congratulated.
As the rest of their teammates congratulated Jay, Jason and both Phillips didn't congratulate him because they knew already when they met on Tuesday.
"Ok, last but not least, I'm proud to announce that we've been named the Team of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicles," Coach Larson announced.
As the entire crowd cheered at the news, Coach Larson proceeded to say another thing.
"I've been proud of all of you for stepping up. But get your bodies, right. No staying up late. We need to be fully functioning. Now go ahead, hit the lockers," Coach Larson said.
As the entire team headed to the lockers, they still kept congratulating Jay for his marriage and being a parent.
"My boy! I thought you never wanted to get laid because of your celibacy. But now I know it's faithfulness. Mad respect, man," #25 Jayden Sherman said.
"I know. But I wanted people to stay out of my private life," Jay said.
"That makes sense. So you often keep to yourself about your personal part of your life?" Jayden asked.
"Yeah. But, no hard feelings though," Jay said.
"It's cool dawg," Jayden said.
"As Jay was packing up, he was met by Phillip Schrute.
"So, are you ready for Sunday's game?" he asked.
"Hell yeah, man!" Jay answered back in enthusiasm.
"Oh, and congratulations, by the way. Ever since we watched Gay Witch Hunt, we were really grossed out," Phillip Schrute said.
"Yeah! I still can't believe Jason's dad made him feel uncomfortable like that. I mean, he had good intentions, but the planning and execution were botched in a manner that I find offensive," Jay said.
"You guys talking about the Office documentary?" Jason interjected.
"Yeah, man. Hate to say it, but your dad looked like an offender of homosexuality," Jay frankly admitted. "No offense."
"None taken. My dad was like that. In some cases, him and I don't have anything in relation to personality. In case you're wondering, the episode Gay Witch Hunt was filmed before my dad met my mom," Jason said.
"Hmm. That's good to know. You know, I was kind of sad when I learned that Halpert's dad had moved to Stamford. I get why he moved, but he should've stayed," Jay said.
"What about my dad?" Phillip Halpert interjected.
"About your dad moving to Stamford in the Gay Witch Hunt episode," Jason told.
"I see. Yeah, I thought it was a dick move too. I heard there's gonna be a reunion for my parents and their ex-colleagues from Dunder Mifflin," Phillip Halpert revealed.
"Really? Let me guess, they're gonna meet the day before the game?" Jason said.
"Yeah. They will meet the day before the game," Phillip H. said.
"That's expected. What's also unexpected was that my dad retired from the post as Head of Paper Distribution in the Natural Resources Department, saying that he'll be working with me as his sports endorsement manager," Jason said.
"Are you serious? So your mom and dad are going to be moving out to California?"" Phillip H. clarified.
"Yup. And trust me, my dad's a very good salesman in his day. He was one of the best," Jason stated.
"Indeed. My dad said the same thing. In some ways, he's a great boss. In other ways, he's a comedic buffoon," Phillip H. commented.
"You got that right!" Jason said, snickering at Phillip H.'s comment.
"Hey, anyhow, we'll see each other on game day. See you guys later," Jay said, who is departing with his sports bag.
Jay's talking head: With all due respect, I think the way we
- (24 hours later) -
At one of Hilton Santa Clara's exclusive conference rooms, the Scott family, the Halpert family, the Schrute family and Jan were discussing about how their lives are after they left Dunder Mifflin. They were being filmed by a few cameramen who filmed the documentary 23 years ago.
"Michael, are you serious? You got shaped into a respectable person by your son?" Jan asked, under surprise of how Michael behaved.
"Hey, he's my pride and joy. Though he gets me, the only thing he's intolerant of was ill-conceived antics which endanger one's safety and well-being," Michael said.
"Like what?" Jan asked with curiosity.
"Well, he requested me to stop with spreading rumors and holding meetings which are no use to work. And also to keep some secrets which are best kept safe," Michael said.
"Wow. He really did shape you into a respectable person," Jan said.
"Let's put my life aside. You should hear how my son's doing," Michael said.
"Like what?" Jan asked again with curiosity.
"My son's actually thinking about endorsing Dunder Mifflin. Although he was heavily against it due to personal reasons, I convinced him to only look at it as a business deal," Michael said.
"Michael, that's a bad choice," Jan said with disappointment, showing her dislike for Dunder Mifflin.
"Look, he doesn't like the company overall. He personally hates David Wallace," Michael said.
"Does he have a reason?" Jan asked with interest.
"Well, a lot of personal reasons. One, David was the guy who split me and Holly up nearly 3 decades ago. Two, Jason saw David as nothing but a businessman who tends to show no place for relationships in the workplace. Three, David rubbed Jason the wrong way when he called me a lucky dummy. And four, he hired the one guy from my branch who hasn't made a sale because he held an MBA and look what happened," Michael explained.
"That makes a lot of sense. Given that Ryan committed fraud to the company, which led to his downfall. But didn't Dwight really bring him down?" Jan questioned.
"What do you mean?" Dwight asked.
"I mean, you beat his website in sales many years ago. Ok? There were numerous projections that Ryan's website would outsell every salesman in the company. And you had beaten the odds, proving that a website in unnecessary. And the aftermath included problems on Ryan's website, leading him to commit fraud to mislead the shareholders," Jan explained.
"I get what you're trying to say. You're basically implying that I was the beginning of Ryan's downfall from corporate?" Dwight asked, wondering if Jan's theory is correct.
"Exactly. Look, Dwight, honestly, you would've made an excellent fit to corporate as the Vice President of Northern Sales. Given your sales numbers and the way you sell, you're one of the best salesman. How can David Wallace not consider you for the job that I held?" Jan said.
Everyone was looking at Dwight. Jim realized that Dwight had a real chance at being Vice President, but was confused why David didn't call him up for the interview.
"I dunno. Maybe because I wanted to be Regional Manager. But, it doesn't matter. I'm really happy with the people that are with me today. Angela and my kids. That's who I care about," Dwight humbly said.
"Well said, Dwight," Jim praised.
"Thanks, Jim," Dwight said back.
"So, we're all under the agreement that David Wallace is not the best CEO we know?" Jan asked everyone.
Everyone including Pam, Angela, Jim, Dwight, Holly, Michael and Jan raised their hands.
"That's true to a certain extent, though we have various degrees of respect for him," Pam said.
"Hmm. That's right," Jan said.
"Remember the dinner party that I hosted and what happened when all hell broke loose?" Michael asked, trying to make a change in conversation.
Everyone laughed, remembering what really happened.
"Yeah, that stuff is pretty unforgettable. Remember the quiet confrontation that we had?" Jan asked Pam in a jovial manner.
"Oh yeah. Boy, that's unforgettable," Pam said with a smile.
"Yeah. I have to say it was one of the weirdest nights we've ever had," Jim said.
"Speaking of weirdest nights, I think I've met your daughter a few nights ago. Is your daughter Astrid Levinson, an Oscar-award winning actress?" Dwight asked.
"Yeah. Why, you know something about her?" Jan asked.
"Yes, I met her husband that same night I met your daughter. My son and his girlfriend had dinner with both of them," Dwight said.
"Wait, you know who her husband is?" Jan asked, feeling a little anxious.
"Yeah, they also told me that they're becoming public," Dwight revealed, easing Jan's anxiety.
"Speaking of Astrid's husband, we know it's Jay Sharma," Michael revealed.
Jan was surprised that Michael and Dwight already knew about Jay.
"Wait how do you know Jay Sharma, Michael?" Jan asked.
"I met him many years ago. He was Jason's roommate back in Stanford. They played football back in college and are playing on the same team in the NFL. Jason told me about their secret marriage a few days ago. He was Jason's best man," Michael revealed.
"Woah. I know the world is so small, but I never expected to be this small," Jan said in surprise.
"Yeah, actually my daughter is good friends with Astrid as well," Pam revealed.
"Wait. Cecelia is good friends with Astrid? That explains something," Jan said.
"Explain what?" Pam asked.
"Astrid had this best friend who was a few years younger than her back in UC Berkeley. She also told me that she had this crush on a Stanford wide receiver who played alongside Jay. She also told me that while her and Jay met, Jason and Cecelia met on the same day," Jan explained.
"We also knew that too," Jim said.
"Oh my god. I can't believe this. Now I'm starting to see the world much more smaller in terms of connection," Jan said.
As they started discussing more about how their children knew each other, they were really enjoying the talk.
While they were enjoying the talk, they were unexpectedly met by Jay, Jason, Phillip Schrute, and Phillip Halpert, who are wearing their 49ers home jerseys.
"Hey guys! What's up?" Jay said.
The Office alumna were looking at the players they have a personal connection with.
"What're you guys doing here?" Angela asked.
"Well, we found out about the reunion that you guys are having right now. In turn, we'd like you guys to attend tomorrow's home game against the Buccaneers. And we got you guys suite tickets in Levi's Stadium," Phillip Schrute said.
"Wow. I mean, This is huge. You really want us to attend tomorrow's game?" Pam asked.
"Yeah, mom. We'd really love you guys to attend. And for your information, the Office documentary have a little surprise for you," Jason revealed.
"What is it?" Dwight asked.
"This," Phillip Halpert said, pointing toward the screen, where they saw a video of a certain grumpy salesman who aged a lo who recently passed away due to old-age.
"Wait, is that Stanley?" Michael asked, surprised.
"Hey guys. If you're listening to this, I'm already dead. But that doesn't don't forget me," a recording of Stanley said.
"I want to congratulate Michael on raising a son who I've never expected to be a huge fan of. Michael, your son Jason is definitely the future of football. Although you've been a horrible boss, I've never expected you to become such a pristine human being by raising your son. Although I wanted to congratulate you in person, I fear I don't have much time to do so. I'm leaving you with this recording to apologize for the things I've said to you and for what I did to you in your time at Dunder Mifflin. I was hoping that when you watch this video, you're in a happy place with your kids. Goodbye, Michael. I'll see you soon buddy," Stanley said with a smile in the video.
After watching the video, Michael was in tears. Remembering the employee who had no respect for him, he was surprised to learn that he respected him as a parent who raised a successful son.
"Michael, you ok?" Holly asked.
"I'm sorry. It was the first time that I've heard Stanley say good things about me," Michael said tearfully.
"I never seen you get this emotional, Michael," Jan said with a genuine smile.
"Did you know that Michael was emotionally scarred as a child?" Pam said to Jan.
"What?" Jan said, confused at what Pam said.
"He was neglected as a child when his mother married his step-father. As a result of that, he became emotionally damaged, leading him to take up comedy as a recovery mechanism. It also caused this need to become very liked, which caused many of Michael's antics to rise. Remember Movie Monday?" Jim said.
"Yeah. I was upset because no one was working on that day," Jan said with a smile.
"And the time I wanted to take over Michael's job," Dwight jokingly said, trying to cheer up Michael.
As a result, Michael regained his emotional composure and became a little cheerful.
"Michael, I'm very sorry about what happened to you. I guess that your parents are to blame for raising you in a way that made you rub us the wrong way many years ago," Jan apologized.
"Same here," Dwight apologized.
While Michael felt cheered up by his former boss, colleagues, Jason and the other players, Michael decided to get cheered up.
"I never felt this confided by anyone. Not even when Jason was born," Michael said.
"Dad, I'm really happy that you have me in your life, right now. And I won't tolerate if anyone talks shit about my dad. If they do, I'll make them regret it," Jason said emotionally.
"I'm glad that you said that. I'm so proud of what you become and so happy that you turned my life around for the better," Michael said, quickly hugging his son.
"I love you, dad. God knows I do," Jason said tearfully.
"I love you too, soo," Michael said back.
Watching this embrace, everyone got emotional.
While everyone was emotional, Jay was inspired by the love that Michael and Jason have. Realizing that the love he had with his dad is nothing compared to the love Michael and Jason have, Jay knew that he can at least have the same type of bond with his children.
"Okay. Listen, can you do me a favor?" Michael asked.
"Sure," Jason said.
"Can you take up the endorsement deal with Dunder Mifflin?" Michael asked.
With a lot of thought, Jason agreed.
"If he steps out of line with me, it's over," Jason said, showing his approval under a condition.
"Ok," Michael said.
While the filmmakers were inspired by the love Michael and Jason have, the Office alumna decided to have an enjoyable discussion about how they're doing personally.
When the Halpert, Schrute, and Scott families left the conference room, Jan was secretly met by someone who she never expected to see again in her life. The person was wearing a track suit with the 49ers logo on it.
"Hunter? Is that you," Jan asked the man who is about 5' 8.5" height, average weight, has dark brown eyes and hair, about 52 years old, with an anchor beard and a disconnected mustache.
"Hey, Jan. I wanted to ask you something. Is Astrid really my daughter? If so, why didn't you tell me?" Hunter asked.
"You know. If news came out that you sired an illegitimate daughter as a teenager, then your life would've been destroyed. I know you haven't married anyone when you became a coach, but could you at least think of what'll happen if she realizes you're her father?" Jan asked.
"Look. I committed a blunder, which you protected me from. I owe you that. But why didn't you tell me?" Hunter asked.
"Listen, you're Coach Hunter Raymond Larson. Best coach in 49ers history. And I'm not gonna put your career in jeopardy. It's best if you stay away from my daughter," Jan warned, walking out of the conference. "She's not your daughter because you didn't raise her. I did. And let me remind you that your best TE/DT is not your son-in-law because you never were part of Astrid's life. He made her the happiest that I've ever seen her in my life. And I told you all about Astrid because I wanted to let you know that your relationship with me is a secret."
While Coach Larson was standing inside the conference room, he didn't realize that someone unknowingly listened to the confrontation that he had with Jan.
While Coach Larson left the conference room, the person who was in the bathroom connected to the conference room came out in shock. Jay got the biggest shock of his life. He learned that everything about Coach Larson was true. Jay realized that Jan was the rumored attractive lady cougar that charmed his coach when he was a teenager and the song That One Night was all about Coach Larson's relationship with her. What Jay was extremely appalled to learn that Astrid is the love child of Jan Levinson and his coach. Feeling the weight caused by this revelation, Jay felt his body get heavy due to the shocking news he overheard while he was in the bathroom.
"Holy shit! Oh my fucking god! This has got to be the worst moment of my life," Jay said to himself.
