Chapter Eleven
FBI Evidence Garage…
Megan came into the garage and meet with David and Colby already there and from the looks of their faces, she could tell that they were eagerly waiting for her to get there and get one of the techs to give them some answers, hopefully.
"Sorry it took me so long to get here…" Megan started to say
"It's okay Megan, the guy looks like he is almost done, anyway." Colby interrupted to reassure her.
The tech, Andrew Carson, looked up and went to them while putting some of the evidence he found into some plastic evidence bags.
"Any idea as to where the car was in the last couple days?" Colby asked eagerly
"Well, we found some wrappers that indicated that the car has traveled quite a bit between California and Nevada in the last couple days, and, luckily, we found a tracking system in the car and we looking through it as we speak to see if it was sabotaged or not."
This surprised the agents and they didn't expect to get this lucky in finding something that could help them find the missing three but there was something on their minds.
"Carson is it possible they may have used the car to distract us or is it something else?" Megan wondered
"I don't think so but it could be possible and, again, we are looking through the car to see there was anything else in there that could help us figure out where else they have been." Carson answered
"Any DNA?" David asked, feeling hopeful
"Like I said we are going through the car and, while there is DNA in the car, there is no guarantee it will help identify who was in car, as it could be contaminated but I'll see what we can do."
"Thanks Carson." Megan said, still hoping that they will find something in the meantime while the agents themselves continue with any records they can find about the car and the persons who stole it.
"Hey, we will do our best and find those guys, as I owe them for helping my family find two cousins we thought we would never see again."
"Will do and thanks for telling us what you guys have found so far." Megan said with a knowing smile as she walked with David and Colby to head back to the FBI and see what they could do on their end.
Unknown location…
Don was feeling sore in his gut from the punching but he was still determined to find a way out but he knew it was going to be even more of a challenge now as one of their captors men were watching them.
'I just hope Charlie is okay because I can never forgive myself if anything happened to him and I really wish he didn't have do what those people want him to do, I just hope he can find a way to send some kind of message.'
Other unknown location…
Charlie was feeling apprehensive as he and Thomas walking into a small room with a computer and another guard waiting for them. As much as he didn't want to help, he couldn't let his older brother pay for his own refusal to cooperate.
'Focus, Charlie, you need to mislead these people and get a message to Larry or Amita and let them know what is going on and maybe they can find us here.'
It was a long shot but as he settled in front of the computer and was given instructions by Thomas, he started working out what to do and what program to send out and hoped that someone would understand it.
'Lets hope it works.' Charlie thought as he went to straight to work on the computer, knowing he was being watched and hoped that his brother and Agent Malone would be all right.
