Much to Blake's pleasure, she did get her kiss from her mate, with some tongue-wrestling thrown in. Much to her disappointment though, she and her mate didn't go any further than that. While she did voice her disappointment, she respected that Luna said that she wasn't ready to go further. So she engaged another make-out session with her mate, being satisfied that they had reached that phase. Of course, while Luna was the one controlling the pace of their relationship, Blake showed her mate what to expect. When it came to the phase that Luna was comfortable with, Blake proved herself to be the dominant one, taking charge of the make-out session.
As the two of them had to separate due to running out of air, the pupils of Blake's silvery grey eyes turned into slits. Something that Luna noticed and made the blue-and-red-eyed girl start to worry what was going on with her mate.
"Must… mark… mate." Said Blake inbetween pants, seeming to struggle with (or rather against) something. Luna didn't get the chance to ask what the Demi-Dragon Goddess meant as the silvery grey-eyed girl suddenly embraced the Demi-Goddess and just as suddenly bit Luna, sinking her teeth into the blue-and-red-eyed girl's exposed right shoulder, to the point of drawing blood. Yelping in surprise and slight pain, Luna returned the embrace. As Luna embraced Blake tighter, she could feel the silvery grey-eyed girl licking up some of her blood. Once she felt her mate remove herself from Luna's shoulder and apparently heal the minor puncture wounds caused by the bite, both of them finally fell asleep, completely exhausted.
When Luna finally woke up in the morning she noticed a few things. One, her right shoulder was exposed. Two, Blake was embracing her in a less possessive manner than usual, still in a possessive manner, but not to the same degree. Three, she could still feel a minor ache in her right shoulder. And finally, there was a crest on her right shoulder that definitely wasn't there before. The crest was similar to the one that Blake had on the left side of her neck, but unlike the one Blake had, the one on Luna's shoulder lacked the circle surrounding the stylized infinity-symbol. And when she actually thought about it, the crest was in the spot where Blake had bitten her, the bite-marks of Blake's canines being in the holes of the symbol.
Being thankful that yesterday was a Saturday, therefore meaning that it was Sunday today, Luna gently started to shake her mate in order to wake her up and confront her about why she bit her last night. Grunting slightly, the Demi-Dragon Goddess seemed particularly reluctant to wake up.
"Come on Luna… just another hour or two." Muttered Blake, clearly being more asleep than awake and reluctant to do anything to change that.
"Blake. There's a crest on my shoulder that definitely wasn't there yesterday. The same shoulder that you bit before falling asleep last night." Deadpanned Luna, causing her mate to actually sit up and become closer to being more awake than asleep.
"May I see the… crest?"
"Sure go ahead." Turning around and giving her mate a clear view of the crest on her shoulder, Luna didn't hear anything from her mate for about a minute.
"Hmm. I've heard about these but never thought that I'd be able to make one." Stated Blake in a tone of genuine surprise, if one could tell the difference in her tone, which Luna could.
"Okay?"
"…"
"Well, what is it?"
"A Mate-mark."
"Mate-mark?"
"Yes. Certain species of the Supernatural World, most notably Dragons, can leave a physical and magical mark on their mates. The mark always appears on a spot where they've bitten their mate. And the marking of one's mate is very instinctual."
"Okay. That explains the mark, but why did you think that you wouldn't be able to make one?"
"I'm not a true Dragon Goddess, only a Demi-Dragon Goddess."
"Hmm. I could be wrong, but I think that won't be true anymore in about three years."
"Why?"
"What's to say that you won't ascend to true Dragon Godhood once you reach a certain age?"
"That might actually be true, but why in three years specifically?"
"Call it a hunch."
"Okay then."
