Chapter 13: Numeracy 101
The Batmobile was just approaching the orphanage once more and once it came to a stop in front of the entrance, Batman and the rest jumped out. "What do you guys think his test will be this time?", Olaf asked. "Not sure, Olaf. But we're about to find out.", Elsa said. "Whatever it is, we can deal with it! We have to if we want to get Anna and Catwoman out of Nygma's clutches.", Jacob said. They then entered the building and made their way towards the two girls, but were stopped once there was a gate in between the room where the girls were and where they were. Riddler appeared on the projector and said, "Welcome back to the Riddletorium! Do not fear, your friends have not been harmed. But before I allow you to see them, however, riddle me this! A puppet to my king with power unseen. I have seven siblings just like me. I'm used with little care by most, but if at the end I take up post. What once was weak becomes strong. What am I?", Riddler said and then asked. Before the Arendelle Crew had at least 5 seconds to think it through, Batman said, "Pawn. The answer is a pawn, Riddler.". "Correct, Dark Knight! And that is exactly what you all are! Pawns in my master plan for revenge. But I suppose you have earned the privelage to see your friends. Why they'll be as surprised as I am that you've made it this far. Go on ahead.", Riddler said as he pressed a button that opened up the gate. The heroes then went into the next room to both hostages. "Oh, good. You're back. Eddie wouldn't show us whatever deranged parlor game he's got waiting behind that door until all of you came back.", Catwoman said. "We'll get you both out of here.", Batman told them. "I'm sorry, do I seem testy? It probably has something to do with the gorgeous necklaces Eddie picked out for us. Have you seen them? They explode!", Catwoman said sarcastically. "Look, Catwoman, I want this thing off my neck just as bad as you do yours, but let's just do whatever Riddler wants us to do so we can get these damn things off and then go find him and kick his ass!", Anna said impatiently. "Agreed. Let's do this.", Elsa said. The heroes then went up in front of the green door labeled, "Numeracy 101" and then opened it. On the other side of the door, there was a room divided into two halves by an electrical fence. Riddler then came on again and began to talk. "I do hope everyone is getting along. Because you'll need to work together if you want the key hidden in here. This challenge is designed for specifically Batman and Catwoman. So, I'm afraid you all must stay back on this one, my Arendellian friends.", he said. The Frozen Cast then stood over to the side like they were instructed. Elsa then whispered to Jacob, "I don't get it. He said he wanted us to play his game and that's why he kidnapped Anna in the first place, but he has barely asked us to do a damn thing! I know he asked you to help Batman out on the last one, but that's pretty much it.". "I'm sure he has some sick plan in store for us. Let's just wait and see.", Jacob said. "First, both of you step onto the pressure pads on each half of the room.", he instructed. Batman and Catwoman did just exactly that. Once they were both on, Catwoman said, "Well this looks creepy. Someone's been reading Feng Shui For Serial KIllers.". A cage then trapped the both of them and then blue-lit question marks appeared on Batman's side while pink-lit question marks appeared on Catwoman's side. "Oh, great. Extra trapped. As if the collar wasn't bad enough.", Catwoman said. "Oh, Batman, Catwoman: Neither of you is getting out of there without the other's help. What I am about to do is show both of you a series of numbers that will be displayed upon the electric boards in front of you. Your job is to figure out which order of the question mark lights you must hit. You will each see each other's order, but not your own. Good luck!", Riddler said. Then a series of numbers that were blue-lit for Batman appeared on the electric board in front of Catwoman. The order went 3, 1, 4, 5, and 2. Catwoman had an idea by using a certain number of her fingers to tell Batman the order he should go in. He used a batarang to hit the question mark lights in the exact order that Catwoman signed him. "Well, there we go, it's settled! You're not quite as dumb as each other. Congratulations, Batman. Catwoman, you're lagging behind.", Nygma said. The electric board in front of Batman turned on with pink-lit numbers that went in the order 1, 3, 4, 2, 5. Batman did the same thing for her as she did for him by using his fingers to signal the order in which she should go. Catwoman used her bolases to hit the lights in the order he signed her. "Oh, Dark Knight. I can barely describe to you what a pleasure it is to see your brow furrow over the simplest of conundrums. I do apologize for not creating a riddle that you can pound into submission. Here, why don't you take out those primitive frustrations on my automated assistants? Your frozen friends may join in on the action as well.", Riddler said after the challenge was completed. After he said that, about two dozen more robots came out of nowhere and started making their way towards the heroes. They all then teamed up by using the same methods they used to destroy the last batch which included pounding, freezing, batting, charging, and picking. All 8 of them worked well together in destroying all the robots that were attacking them. After all the robots were in pieces, Riddler began to speak once more. "Well then, it seems you've earned another key.", Riddler said. Catwoman just gave out a deep sigh and said, "This is going to take all night, isn't it?". "I sure hope not! I just wanna go home!", Anna said. "And we will, honey! Trust me, we will!", Kristoff told her. "Here, I'll help you guys get the key.", Elsa said as she approached the glass cabinet that was just revealed. Elsa then froze the glass and it broke into little shards on the floor. Elsa then grabbed the key and handed it to her sister. "Thanks, Elsa.", Anna said. Anna then used the key on her collar and then gave it to Catwoman. Catwoman then used it on her collar and she threw it aside. "Well, that was fun. At least I got to hit something.", Selina said. The heroes then walked through the door and back into the center room of the building. Once they got in, Riddler showed up again. "I wouldn't celebrate just yet, heroes! Dark Knight and Company, my next challenge can be found beneath Elliot Memorial Hospital. Conveiniently, located for when you pass out due to mental exhaustion.", he said and then went off the screen. "you still haven't apologized!", Catwoman said to Batman. "For what?", Batman asked with confusion. "For Eddie treating me like a white hat Like one of your sidekicks! Y'know, half the crooks in Gotham think I feed you info.", Catwoman said. "You do.", Batman said. "Well, yeah, when there's something in it for me. They think I'm doing it on principle!", she said. "So, I guess I would be one of your sidekicks too, huh?", Anna asked Batman. "Yeah, I guess us too?", Olaf asked. "You're all equally important. Let's just get going to Elliot Memorial!", Batman said. All of them except Anna and Catwoman left the orphanage to the hospital for the next challenge.
