Chapter 10: A Trip to the Magical World

I woke up to an excited Sally flopping onto me. She was practically vibrating with excitement. I just rolled my eyes at her and pushed her off my bed looking at the time.

"It's 5:24, and you have to hurry up! Toby and Helen are already making breakfast, and if you don't hurry then we'll leave you behind!" she said with a giggle, before she teleported away, probably to the dining room. I shook my head at the empty space she occupied and stood up, starting to get ready for our trip to Diagon Alley. A few minutes later I was walking into the kitchen where everyone who was going with us was. Helen was trying to help Toby make pancakes but it was proving to be quite difficult.

"Okay, good! Now just stir that while I get the pan ready," Toby nodded and looked over at me.

"Hey ki-kiddo, how-dip-oops that's a bit messy-DIP- …maybe this was a bad idea," Toby said. The first tic hadn't been too bad, it just caused him to dip his finger in the batter, the second one, however, had caused him to shove half his hand into the mix. E.J. reached over and took the bowl from him, telling him to wash his hands.

"So, how did you sleep Harry? I think that was what Toby was trying to ask." E.J. asked me while whisking the batter. After a bit of small talk(and Toby throwing an egg while saying 'fly birdy, fly') Helen put a plate of pancakes in front of all of us. Toby was talking to his dads while making wild gestures, with the occasional tic.

"Hey Harry, do-o ya think-bitch-I am so sorry, do ya think Slen-lender would let you g-get a cat as yo-our pet?" Toby asked me, hitting Hoodie in the side of the head with a tic.

"Even if he would, I'm getting an owl, my dude," I said, leaning back in my chair. Masky checked his phone and stood up.

"C'mon, it's almost six, time to go," he said, tucking his mask in his bag. E.J. rolled his neck and grabbed his bag, putting up a glamour and hooking his cane onto his wrist. Sally scrunched up her face and shook her head a bit, then looked over herself to make sure there was no blood left. Toby put a facemask on, along with the gauze on his cheek, while Hoodie and Helen just put their masks in their bag, same as Masky. As we walked the short distance to the Slenderport I talked with Sally, who was on Toby's shoulders. As we reached the treeline I remembered we were supposed to be meeting Carea somewhere in Britain.

"Hey Helen, where are we meeting CeCe?" I called to them. They looked up from their drawing pad and tucked their stylus behind their ear.

"We were going to meet her near the Slenderport, she said she'd be waiting in one of the local bars," they said while checking their pockets. They pulled out a slip of paper and passed it to me.

Hey morons. Meet me at Rosealine's Bar, it isn't too far from the port y'all are coming through, six a.m. your time. It'll be around 11 here, and it's a bit chilly so bring a jacket. Don't keep me waiting for you dumbasses. -c

I chuckled to myself, handing the note back to Helen. CeCe could be a bitch sometimes, but she was a really cool person once you got to know her. Once our little group of phycos were through the Slenderport we started looking around for Rosealine's Bar, knowing that CeCe would kill us if we wasted time. The bar wasn't that hard to find, and as soon as CeCe saw us she downed whatever she had been drinking and walked out to meet us. She nodded to us and tapped the bottom of her chin, which was her way of telling us to hold our heads up and walk with confidence. After following her for a bit we stopped at a street corner, and CeCe drew our attention to a worn down and dirty pub across the street. The sign read 'The Leaky Cauldron' and the whole place had the faint glow of a 'notice me not' charm. Carea led us to the pubs front door before she turned around and pulled off the beanie she had been wearing.

"Okay idiots, Harry is well known here, so be on the lookout," she offered the hat to me "wear this, and keep that scar covered." I took the beanie and pulled it over most of my hair, brushing my bangs down in a way that covered my scar. CeCe looked at me and nodded, walking into the bar with a confidence I tried to replicate. The pub looked even more run down on the inside, but the feel-and sight-of magic was much more promenade here. Carea started weaving around chairs and people, making her way to the back, with us trailing behind. A few people called out to her, and she nodded in response, but besides that, we weren't stopped until we had almost made it out. The barkeeper called out to her before he stepped around the bar and grabbed her hand.

"Carea dear, it's so nice to see you again! How are you? On second thought, what are you even doing here? Weren't you tutoring someone all the way in America?" I was honestly surprised he was anywhere near her, normally anyone outside of the mansion avoided her like the plague. She rolled her eyes and gestured to us, then pushed past the man and led us the rest of the way to the backdoor. Once in the alleyway behind the pub she pulled out her wand-cherrywood, with a thestral hair core-and tapped a certain brick. The wall melted away and we stepped through the newly formed entryway into Diagon Alley.
