Author's Note: One step closer in finally reaching the ending of this story! Just a heads up, the ending will be kind of a mixture of both the original game and the Shattered World arc of the PSG of Archie Sonic comics.
To TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3: First off, thanks for the reviews and advice, I'll do my best with the emotional scenes. Secondly, uh...well, I kinda don't have any further plans with the Werehog-Beast as it's appearance was mainly trying to take over Sun's body and eat Sonic, and it being set free wasn't originally going to be long. Sorry if you're disappointed in how it's freedom was short-lived.
To Nathan Saylors: While I won't be giving any spoilers about Sun's fate, we'll just have to see what happens, but I do know what will happen to him and, let's just say, he won't be forgotten anytime soon. Glad you really like Sun the Hedgehog!
Now then, without further ado, let's head onward!
I do not own Sonic the Hedgehog. The franchise belongs to Sega. I only own Sun the Hedgehog and Kaiser the Myth Hunter, Keith and Master Koga, and another OC who makes an appearance here.
Chapter 23: Dream of Light and Life.
After their little relaxation in Empire City, Sonic and his friends had left the city behind and returned to Shamar, feeling just as good as they felt when the crisis began. Now with only two continents left to go, they felt that anything could be possible. Yet three of them still felt the uneasiness within themselves which promptly left some mental scars.
For starters, Sonic, despite being one step closer in saving Mobius once again, still felt guilty for being the catalyst which left him in an mental war within himself. He blamed himself for the world's shattering and wished he could've prevented himself from falling into Eggman's trap. At the same time, however, the blue hedgehog knew that if he did, then Sun wouldn't be born which there was still the fear of losing him to Dark Gaia despite what Professor Pickle had discovered, and then the hero of Mobius wouldn't have met him or Chip.
Which brings to the next problem which also worried the pixie-dog; he was gradually regaining some bits and pieces of his memories, but Chip was worried that it could take years to get them back, which again, Sonic blamed himself for and wished he could've prevented his new friend in losing his memories in the first place.
Finally, there was Sun who, despite now knowing that his body may be artificial made of quills, emotions, Dark Gaia, flesh and blood from Sonic, his soul, heart and mind were his own, felt uncertain about his future. He put his full trust into his brother now, but there was still the chance that he could end up like all of the other 'clones' in the previous times and be sacrificed like his predecessors. The dark-blue hedgehog was happy to be a living being on the inside, because he had friends and family who saw him as one of them, just like Shadow.
But how long will that last?
Despite these concerns in the trio's heads, they attempted to push those aside for the time being until those moments came. Right now, Sonic, Chip and Sun followed Tails and Amy into Pickle's lab where the aforementioned human, as well as Knuckles, Shadow and Rouge waited for them.
"Ah, you're all back. Thank goodness! I was greatly worried despite what Knuckles and Shadow had informed Rouge and I." Pickle greeted.
"It was nothing we couldn't handle. That overgrown hairball is gone." Sonic said dismissively. "Sun's the real hero in taking that thing out."
Sun would've made a comment, but the way how the blue hedgehog described him made the dark-blue hedgehog glance at the hero of Mobius in bewilderment. "Me? A hero?"
"You bet, bro! A hero means doing the right thing, and following your heart's instincts." The fifteen year old replied, smiling at his brother. "It's not about relying on super powers or goofy costumes or even being famous half the time. Though the power part does help in some cases."
"...I...I don't feel like a hero." Sun replied, shrugging a little. "I'm still adjusting in being myself within this cloned body. Or rather, trying to get used to the idea that while I wasn't born like most people, my soul isn't different to everybody else's either."
"At least you're not a robot." Knuckles pointed out, which earned him annoyed or angry glares from the rest of the group except for Shadow who just rolled his eyes. Seeing their reactions, he asked cluelessly. "What? It's true."
"You can't say things like that, Knuckles!" Amy said angrily.
"He has a point, though." The dark-blue hedgehog spoke up, agreeing with that knowledge, much to his brothers' and friends' surprise. "I don't know how that Dr. Fatso managed to make robots like they're people in the inside too, but between the two, I'd rather with what I am right now than being a piece of metal junk that can talk."
Sonic, despite the surprise that his brother wasn't taking any offenses from the red echidna, smiled and said teasingly. "Just be careful in not letting Omega hear you say that, Sun. He used to be with Eggman, until that guy stuffed him in a dingy closest on babysitting duty for Shadow 'til Rouge found him. Now that robot's desire is taking Egg-Belly out."
"Omega was not my babysitter and I don't need one. I was in a coma with amnesia." Shadow reminded sternly, to which the younger hedgehog wasn't concerned about as he dismissed the stern tone with a shrug.
"Hey, Sun. What happened to your face?" Rouge spoke up, and when the young hedgehog looked at her skeptically, the bat thief approached him and pointed at his right cheek where the cut, having healed and stopped bleeding, plus having been cleaned off when he and his friends went to the hotel in Empire City, now had bandage on it.
"Oh, this? It's just a scratch one of those annoying monsters, summoned by the beast, shockingly, gave me." Sun replied, placing a hand to where his injury was. "This is nothing compared to what that stupid Myth Hunter did to me after trying to kill Sonic."
The albino bat smiled in some form of relief, knowing that the dark-blue hedgehog was right. Even so, she couldn't help but ask teasingly. "Aw, the big, grown tough hedgehog got a little boo-boo. You want Auntie Rouge to kiss it better?"
"Wait, what!?" The dark-blue hedgehog exclaimed in disbelief and disturbance. He could hear the teasing in her voice, but what was he, a five year old? Well, okay he was spiritually a newborn, but he gained knowledge of a teenager and was physically one too, but still...
"It always makes tiny little scratches heal up." Rouge continued, plucking her lips which began to quickly disturb Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, while Chip looked a little scared, Amy looked annoyed, Shadow once again exasperated, and Pickle began to chuckle under his breath.
Quickly becoming scared despite the teasing, Sun held up his hands in defense and panicked. "N-no way! No thanks! I don't need any kissing!"
"Maaaaaybe we should head over to Adabat before Rouge really decides to kiss Sun." Sonic suggested scaredly.
"Yeah, good idea. Rouge is scaring me." Chip whispered as he nodded.
"Me too." Sun confessed, despite feeling more than a little embarrassed to admit it, which made Rouge giggle along with Amy despite the annoyance.
"You're just as cute as Knuckie when he gets flustered or scared." The bat thief said, poking at the dark-blue hedgehog's left, uninjured cheek which made him groan despite trying not to laugh at the fact that Rouge just called Knuckles 'Knuckie'.
"Rouge..." Shadow started in a tone that said, 'don't start'.
This made her finally stop her flirting at Sun and rolled her eyes. "Oh, alright. But you have to admit, he reminds me of Knuckie-poo in slight personality."
"How many times...DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO NOT CALL ME KNUCKIE!?" Knuckles shouted in aggravation.
'Do I feel sorry for this guy? Sure hope Rouge doesn't decide to call me Sunny.' Sun thought to himself, cringing.
An awkward moment of silence save for Knuckles and Rouge starting to bicker again.
"Um...Next stop, Adabat...?" Tails awkwardly announced.
No one else argued with him over that.
After the awkward moment with Rouge, and a helpful advice from Professor Pickle, Sonic, Tails, Chip and Sun bid farewell to them, Amy, Knuckles, who decided to stick around for a bit longer before returning to Angel Island, and Shadow before boarding the Tornado 1 and flew towards their next destination. Along the way, the group chatted a bit about what Adabat was like, and what they would expect to find. After a little while, they fell into a somewhat comfortable silence.
'Man, this has been one of the toughest adventures I've ever been on, and it's almost already over. I don't think I've ever felt my heart pump in so many exciting, fun, and scary experiences in ages. But that's how it usually goes for me.' Sonic thought to himself as he reclined in the middle seat. Still, he couldn't help but feel the unbearable guilt rise up in his chest for what as happened.
To think all of this started was because not only Eggman had once again discovered something that the blue hedgehog himself never heard of, but Sonic hadn't been careful. Despite that it would mean that he never would've met Sun and Chip who had become part of his extended family, the more logical side of him said that it was a price to pay and the world wouldn't have been split into seven pieces in the first place. The Werehog-Beast said that when Sonic rescued Sun, Eggman's absorbing machine also absorbed the darkness of Dark Gaia that lingered into the blue hedgehog's heart, thus curing him from the darkness itself.
Sonic lowered his gaze in despondent, thinking that maybe he let the power of the Chaos Emeralds go into his head, having used their light to become Super Sonic for so long that it finally brought out the true darkness within his heart. Turning him into a monster that almost completely destroyed the world.
'Oh man...I've really become a monster. How can I fix this up if I helped the worst guy in history who is already a monster to cause the world to be split apart?' Sonic thought to himself, the horror of that kind of realization struck another cord in him.
Mentally gasping as he realized then what he was thinking, the blue hedgehog squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head. 'No. I'm not a monster. I just messed up big time, and I'm atoning for that mistake...'
It was then that he came a true realization; Sonic had realized just how reckless he'd been. Cocky and overconfident, and careless. This is how he had always been, and now his eyes had finally opened to the truth. The blue hedgehog loved to have fun and longed for freedom, but he failed to absorb the lessons from when he almost died during his adventure in the Arabian Nights. Shahra died because of him and he used his first wish to bring her back to life after he defeated Erazor Djinn.
He knew then, unlike all of his previous adventures, he wasn't going to recover from this anytime soon. This adventure's trauma was going to take more than weeks to regain his normal self. It may take months despite with what he had. Or even years.
'Even with the darkness inside me gone...I can't just go back to being my true self when this is over. Not straight away, at least. It's gonna take me a while but, I think I can manage it.' The blue hedgehog sighed and did his best to think about all of the fun he had, all the good times with his friends, all the victories and peace...
Which soon lured him into taking a short nap.
When Sonic opened his eyes, he gasped in shock and absolute horror when he found himself standing in a desolute wasteland of just...rock and darkness. Bewildered and feeling like parts of him falling into pieces from inside out, the teenage hedgehog looked around from left to right, but to matter where he looked, there was nothing else to see. No trees, no grass, no cloud, no water, no...people. Not even the sun, moon, or stars.
Was this...the world of complete void of death and darkness?
"Where am I?" The cobalt hero muttered, trying to keep his cool despite that the air felt cold and dead. He rubbed his arms and shuddered. "It's colder here than in Holoska..."
"WHAT YOU SEE IS THE AFTERMATH OF DARK GAIA'S DESTRUCTION, CHOSEN ONE. DEATH AND DARKNESS ALL AROUND." An echoing yet strangely familiar voice spoke in the air, startling the young hero.
"Is anyone there? Who are you?" Sonic called out, lowering his arms and looked around again for the source of the voice. If there was someone else, then that was a good sign, yet it sounded quite big which made him nervous, but he to keep up his courage.
Then, strangely feeling a case of deja vu, there was a burst of light coming from behind him which made the fifteen year old slowly look over his shoulder, shielding his eyes with one arm before it dimmed enough for him to lower it and look up. What he saw made him gasp in fear, because there stood, memories of the dream he had back in Mazuri and he began to wonder if he was dreaming again, was the same colossal giant, apparently made in stone, glowing in white and green light, towering over him.
Sonic felt frozen in terror, backing away from the giant slowly and almost screamed when it reached out it's hand to capture himself. He then turned and quickly began to run away only to skid to a stop when he saw, to his horror, he was trapped as the road ended with a cliff which lead only to the endless abyss of darkness. Terrified and unable to esacpe, the blue hedgehog spun around and could only watch helplessly as the huge colossal thing reached out for him.
"SOMEBODY HELP ME!" Sonic screamed as he braced himself, crying out louder as it grasped him with a finger and a thumb, lifting him up as he quickly tried to pull himself free. "Hey! Let me go! Let go of me!"
The giant brought the trapped hedgehog to it's face which terrified him even more as it gazed thoughtfully at him. Sonic whimpered and shivered as he looked back at it's strangely gentle green glowing eyes which looked rather calming, but it didn't stop him from feeling scared.
"DO NOT BE AFRAID, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, HERO OF MOBIUS. I WILL NOT HARM YOU." The giant told him, again in the echoing but familiar voice.
"How...how'd you know my name? What do you want with me?" Sonic asked, nervously and despite what his captor had said, he couldn't help but be frightened. He then cried out in alarm as it then lifted him higher, but to his surprise, it gently set him down onto it's shoulder which was weirdly like standing on a floor of a building of sorts.
Come to think of it, now that he got a slightly better look of this unusual gentle giant, it looked like it was made out of rock and buildings. Confused as he stood with pillars there, like he was on a sculpture or an oddly shaped building, the blue hedgehog looked up at the giant's face as it now gazed at the wasteland of darkness. It then held out it's arms and in an instant, a huge flash of light spread out from it's body which made Sonic shield his eyes once more.
When the light died down moments later, the blue hedgehog hesitantly looked up to see what happened and gasped in shock and awe when saw that the darkness and the wasteland were gone. In it's place was the most beautiful scenery he had ever seen. There were mountains that looked like in Holoska, only the top of them being the only source of snow. There were lush green fields with wonderful flowers of all colours and shapes, a nearby forest full of flickies and other woodland Mobini critters. A river and a waterfall flowing. In the far distance, the ocean glittered in the light of the rising sun as a new daw dawned, with clouds being as fluffy as ever.
It was a perfect picture scene beyond his wildest imagination.
"Whoa...! This is takin' beauty to the next level." Sonic whispered, feeling his heart at ease at such a sight, a wide smile on his muzzle. To think that this giant that he had been so afraid of, had actually made this as though it just...brought life and light back.
Then a thought occurred to him and he glanced up at the odd being who continued to stare ahead while lowering it's arms. "Are you...Light Gaia?"
If Dark Gaia destroyed the world before, then this guy who had placed him onto it's shoulder must be Light Gaia, the one who chose Chip for saving the world, and...restoring it. Which would explain why life was still around today.
Just then, as the being, one whom he suspected was Light Gaia, gazed at him, it suddenly disappeared and despite Sonic's cries for it to wait, he suddenly found himself standing in the field as though he'd teleported there. Blinking in confusion on where 'Light Gaia' had gone, the blue hedgehog looked around only to hear more welcoming, familiar voices call out his name. When Sonic looked up ahead, to his great relief and happiness, were all of his friends; Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, the Chaotix, even Shadow and Omega, surprisingly a young six year old rabbit girl in an orange dress, Cream the Rabbit, and an adorable familiar blue Chao with a red bow named Cheese, and both Sun the Hedgehog and Chip standing there in a short distance, most of them waving at him, others just standing there, but all with smiles, some bright and some relieved.
For the first time in ages, Sonic felt his heart swell up with emotions and so he waved back, calling. "Hey!"
Sonic then raced over to greet his friends and happily embraced his little brother, self-proclaimed girlfriend and not once even minding her kissing him on the cheek, Cream and Cheese, Chip and even Sun, with Charmy joining in and Vector playfully ruffling the blue hedgehog's quills. They all laughed and smiled in this wonderful reunion, with tears forming in the cobalt teenager's eyes. It was like the best miracle he could ever hoped for.
Then, Sonic found himself playing with most of his friends, who were playing around in peace, the blue hedgehog racing with Tails and Chip, chilling out with everybody else, and as though later, the group found themselves at a cliff on a tropical beach-side, lounging around under palm trees. Everyone except for Omega were having nice fresh coconuts, as Sonic and Sun both laid against a tree, and Chip drank his in content, before looking at the blue hedgehog's, to which the teenager smiled and handed his to the pixie-dog who took it happily...
Only to have his face stuck in it's shell. Chip frantically tried to pull it off which made Sonic and almost everybody else laugh before the hero of Mobius stood up and decided to help his friend. But as he was about to do so, Chip managed to yank it off, only to send himself flying and the shell clonked Sonic on the head.
"Whoa!" Sonic yelped, stumbling as he accidentally bashed into the tree, just as Knuckles, Vector, Espio, Charmy and Tails approached to see if he was okay. As the six of them and Sun looked up, they all cried out in alarm before the name number of the fruit fell down and hit them one by one on the head as they all yelped in pain.
Once they recovered, the girls, Shadow(who smirked in amusement) Chao and Chip approached once more, the latter gazing at the fallen fruit and Sonic just smiled. He and the other guys then cracked open the coconuts and then they all relaxed either on the grass or against the tree, with Cream on her stomach with her hands under her head, as they all happily and peacefully watched Chip strangely gather seven straws and slurped away at the fruit while lounging in the air.
Sonic smiled in content, before turning his gaze to the bright beautiful sky and ocean over the horizon, the sun's reflection making the water sparkle. He was vaguely aware of Tails gently mutter his name as he closed his eyes, taking in the wonderful day with a warm smile on his face. He didn't want this to end.
It was...so peaceful...
But as he turned to gaze at his friends again, the blue hedgehog blinked in confusion as Chip gazed him with a warm smile...yet he was glowing in green and his expression...it became faded as light filled the teenager's vision...
"Sonic? Wake up, Sonic."
"Huh-wha?" Sonic groggily murmured, opening his eyes and found, once his tired brain was starting to catch up, he was in the Tornado 1 with Tails(who had called out to him), Chip and Sun looking over him, and that they weren't flying anymore, but were on the ground. Whatever he saw, made him realize that he had fallen asleep.
What had started as a terrifying nightmare turned into the best dream he ever had in a very long time. He could've sworn he saw Light Gaia, who had restored the world, brought his friends back and then just vanished. Sonic remembered having fun with his friends in the dream, the peaceful relaxation, and then Chip...glowing in green light with a warm smile, yet it also looked so...
So sad. What could it mean? That made him concerned, but realizing that it was just another unusual dream, one of the best ones he had in the last nearly couple of weeks, he decided to worry about that later.
"We're here already?" The blue hedgehog yawned, stretching his arms upward. "And I was having a really nice dream."
"That battle against the Monster-Guy really must've tired you guys out." Chip remarked, hovering over to his friend. "You feeling okay?"
Despite that he still didn't understand the connection between the pixie-dog and the huge giant which Sonic now figured was possibly Light Gaia, he just smiled and reassured. "Don't worry. I'm okay. Nothing like a nice little nap."
"Sounds like you take naps a lot, don't you?" Sun said sarcastically with a smirk.
"Hey, I don't just run around, being a hero and eat Chili Dogs all the time. Even a guy like me needs to take a break." The blue hedgehog half-joked.
"The local townsfolk should know where the Gaia Temple is. I'd go, but I need to give the Tornado 1 a check up just in case." Tails informed apologetically.
Sonic nodded in understanding as he and the others hopped out of the plane, the fifteen year old giving his little brother a thumbs up, promising they would be back soon. Since they landed just outside of the village, which he could see that it was tropical, with houses made of wood and perched onto stilts over the water, wooden platforms with boats here and there, palm trees near the edges, the place being a mixture of a tropical paradise and a dense jungle nearby, which the blue hedgehog guessed was probably the only place to find the temple.
It reminded him of South Island and Westside Island combined, mixed with the Emerald Coast and Seaside Hill Zone all in one. To his, Sun and Chip's surprise as they reached the village, it looked rather small and...not a lot of people around. If anything, it appeared to be maybe four, five or six in total. An uneasy feeling formed in the pit of their stomachs.
Was it always like this? Or...did the world splitting apart caused casualties?
That latter thought made Sonic become horrified. If this is true, then...people really have died here, and it was all his fault. All he could do was whisper. "No...Please, no..."
"Sonic?" Sun muttered, noticing his brother's shaken look and both he and Chip, also noticing, instantly became worried.
"Tell me this isn't...all that's left of the people here...It can't be true...It can't!" The blue hedgehog muttered pleadingly, not responding to the dark-blue hedgehog's query. He hugged himself while feeling like he was about to hyperventilate, similar to how he almost broke down in Holoska, or that vision the Phoenix made him see in Chun-Nan.
It wasn't until Sun grabbed hold of Sonic's shoulders and began shaking him that the teenager began to realize what was happening, the forming calling out. "Sonic, snap out of it! Calm down!"
"Take deep breaths, Sonic! Breathe in, breathe out." Chip added as he flew over, demonstrating the breathing technique, which Sonic slowly repeated, beginning to calm down as the pixie-dog instructed. "That's it, keep going."
Finally after a torturous minute, Sonic sighed and smiled gratefully at his friends. "Thanks, guys. For a second there, I was about to have a panic attack."
"And it's usually me who does it." Chip added, gently patting the blue hedgehog on the head.
"Yeah, talk about a role swap." The hero of Mobius agreed, before sighing as he lowered his gaze. "Still...Why are there so few people? I hope it's not what I think it is."
"As much as I hate to suggest it, the best thing to do is to ask what's going on. Plus, we have to ask for directions on where the Gaia Temple is." Sun stated.
While Sonic didn't like that idea either, he knew that his brother was right. So he nodded in reluctant agreement and lead his two companions into the village to ask any one of these six people for information. One man was at the Shallow Waters fishing, another was hammering away at a building, apparently patching it up from a recent event which made the blue hedgehog on edge even further, a one girl, about Sonic's age, was happily carrying a basket of fruit while humming to herself, a little boy was playing at the beach with a Mobini Dog, playing fetch, and near by in one of the houses seen from the window was a middle-aged woman making some kind of salad made from fruit.
Still, it put the trio, despite how nice this place looked, on edge at just how little the populace here was.
"Okay, I think we should ask one of these people on where the Gaia Temple is, and figure out what's going on. Like why are they the only ones living here?" Sonic paused while placing one hand on his hip, and shrugging with one arm.
"So, where should we start then?" Sun asked.
Chip looked around until he spotted someone and suggested. "How about her?"
"Huh?" Both hedgehogs muttered, gazing at the same direction as their friend and saw, to their surprise, was another female hedgehog, about fourteen years old, emerging around the corner, looking around with a map in hand.
She was lavender wisteria in fur colour, her quill-hair styled in pink lavender similar to Amy's hair-style, but decorated with a glittering star-shaped hair clip on the right side just above her ear, periwinkle coloured eyes, peach muzzle and arms, white gloves, a light-blue T-shirt hoodie with star patterns and pockets with strings hanging loose, purple shorts with black and midnight blue stripes that almost matches Sun's fur colour. She was carrying a back-pack with a compass like watch, and on her hips were gripping hooks of sorts.
Though the moment the trio laid their eyes on her, Sun couldn't help but feel suddenly enchanted by this female hedgehog. The dark-blue hedgehog wasn't sure why, but there was something...very unusual about her, in a good way. Sure Amy was pretty, but she was crazy and claimed herself to be Sonic's girlfriend, plus she wasn't Sun's type. But this hedgehog girl, he couldn't help but feel attracted to her. He began to feel giddy, his heart racing in his chest and he felt frozen in his place.
'Wow...She's...she's beautiful.' Sun thought to himself absent-mindlessly.
"Sun? Yo, Mobius to Sun! Anybody home?" Sonic spoke up, waving his hand in front of the somewhat dazed dark-blue hedgehog's face, which snapped him out of the sudden trance.
"Huh? What? What'd you say?" The dark-blue hedgehog blinked, realizing that he suddenly went into dream land or something as he gazed as his best friends who looked at him, puzzled and slightly concerned.
"I said we should ask her, via Chip's suggestion." The blue hedgehog said. "You okay, dude?"
"Uh, yeah. Sorry. Must've zoned out." Sun replied, blinking as he mentally shook his head to get a hold of himself.
While Sonic stared at his brother in surprise before a thought came into mind, which surprised him even further and he couldn't help but think that, given the odds, that the dark-blue hedgehog's feelings were definitely real, Chip decided to fly over which got the other boys' attention.
"Excuse me, miss?" Chip spoke up, getting the hedgehog girl's attention as she turned to gaze from her right and lowering the map.
"Hm? Oh, hello there." She greeted with a bright and kind smile. "May I help...you?"
She trailed off, however, as she stared at the pixie-dog in confusion, as though she didn't know what to make of this unusual Mobian. But as Sonic and Sun approached as Chip asked what was wrong, the lavender hedgehog blinked with a thoughtful look and realization on her face.
"Wait...Could it be?" She whispered, confusing the boys who shared a glance, as the fourteen year old then excused herself for a minute, rolling up her map and slid out of her backpack and rummaged into it, pulling out some kind of book which, to Sonic, Chip and Sun's surprise, had the same design as the Gaia Temples and shrines and even the Manuscripts.
The girl flipped through the pages until she found what she was looking for and gasped in surprise. She looked at it for a moment before gazing up at Chip again, then back and forth until recognition dawned onto her.
"Oh my...oh my gosh!" She softly exclaimed, standing up as she gazed at Chip excitedly. "It's you! I can't believe it!"
"Um...D-Do you know me?" Chip asked, both with hesitation and in a moment of hope. Could this girl be someone from his past, that can help him get his memories back? If she knew him, would that mean she knew his real name?
"You're the legendary Messenger of Light, Life and Rebirth! It's an honor to meet you!" The hedgehog girl responded, then did a curtsy which confused Chip, Sonic and Sun who stared at her.
"Um...Thanks, I guess." The pixie-dog replied, awkwardly. First he was known as chosen one by this 'Light Gaia' person, then as the Guardian of the Light by Korso, now he was called the Messenger of Light, Life and Rebirth? For some reason, it sparked another trigger in his mind. It felt and sounded even more familiar, but again he couldn't figure out how or why.
The hedgehog girl stood up and said to the two hedgehogs, "And one of you must be the chosen one, selected by him to restore the world."
While the two hedgehog boys blinked even further, they then remembered what Sierra told them and Chip days earlier, that this Light Gaia had a connection with the pixie-dog and that Sonic himself was chosen as the one worthy to help him restore Mobius considering how he saved the planet for the past four and a half years.
"Um...you mean me?" Sonic asked, pointing at himself, before remembering the two dreams he had of that giant thing, the first time having the silhouette of Chip, and the second time, it spoke and called him a chosen one before restoring the dream version of the world.
'Is that why I had those dreams? Was it really Light Gaia itself? But then, how is Chip involved? Guardian of the Light and Messenger of Light, Life and Rebirth? This must be the important thing he was meant to do, and that I'm somehow worthy enough to help restore it.' The blue hedgehog thought.
"I thought so. And given your cobalt colour, you're Sonic, right?" The girl nodded.
That made Sonic grin as he proudly pointed at himself with his thumb to his chest. "Yep! The one and only! Guess you heard of me too, huh?"
'Oh, boy.' Sun rolled his eyes with an exasperated smile. It figured that the blue hedgehog he originated from would let his ego go to his head.
"Anybody who hasn't heard of you would be living under a rock." The hedgehog girl giggled, then finally turned her gaze to the third traveler of the group and blinked in surprise. Like with Sun towards her, she saw something quite enchanting with him. Despite that he looked like a spitting image of the hero of Mobius, just in different colours of his eyes, fur which wasn't that different, black gloves and green and white shoes with the silver buckles, her eyes widened as her heart leaped a little.
To her, this new hedgehog boy looked quite enchanting and mysterious.
'Goodness...what a handsome hedgehog.' She thought to herself, before smiling warmly at Sun who blinked in surprise as she gazed at him, before she greeted. "Hello there. Are you a new friend of Sonic and the Messenger?"
"Uh, y-yeah." Sun replied, before clearing his throat to snap out of it, but he couldn't stop thinking about just how gorgeous this girl was.
"It's nice to meet a friend of Sonic. You look just like him, but there's something quite unique about you. What's your name?" The hedgehog girl replied.
"My name is Sun the Hedgehog." The dark-blue hedgehog answered.
"Sun the Hedgehog...it goes with the light. But where are my manners?" The hedgehog girl giggled, then introduced herself. "My name's Staria Amantha. My friends call me Star, since I like to stargaze a lot."
"Nice to meet you too, Staria..." Sun said, unconsciously blushing pink on the muzzle. Even her name, as far as he was concerned, was beautiful.
Even though Sonic felt a bit left out that this girl, pretty as she was despite that he wasn't into romance, seemed to be more interested in his brother, he couldn't help but smirk and then snicker which he tried to hide by covering his mouth with his gloved hand, but was unable to stop himself.
'Oh man...I can't believe Sun just met a girl he actually really likes and she likes him already too!' The blue hedgehog thought to himself. He felt quite happy that the dark-blue hedgehog really is real in spirit, but it couldn't help but think about all the teasing he could come up with, especially towards his brother's newly developed crush.
Noticing the blue hedgehog snickering, Sun again snapped out of his trance and asked, raising an eyebrow. "What's so funny?"
"S-Sorry, Sun. It's just that...you're blushing!" Sonic snickered uncontrollably, pointing at his brother who blinked and, realizing that Chip started to laugh and Star blinked before trying to cover her giggles as well, looked away with his arms folded.
"Am not! I'm just st-still recovering from Shamar's heat!" Sun denied, which resulted in him blushing even harder.
"And now you know what it was like for me when it came to Amy." The hero of Mobius mocked with a grin, making the dark-blue hedgehog groan, facepalming himself as he realized that he hasn't forgotten about his own teasing towards Sonic's complicated relationship with the pink hedgehog back in Spagonia.
Star giggled, "You guys seem to be very close friends, and it's so amazing that you are the chosen one worthy to be with the Messenger."
"Yeah, about that...and um, another thing." Sonic began, shrugging as he decided that they couldn't waste anymore time teasing and asked. "How'd you know about Chip and that I'm worthy?"
"Chip? Is that what you called him?" Star blinked, gazing at Chip who nodded.
"Yeah, the problem is, I lost my memory a while back and Sonic found me. Then we met Sun after this awful villain Dr. Eggman split the world apart and we've been fixing it up. This is actually the sixth place we're here for to find the Temple of Gaia." The pixie-dog replied.
The lavender hedgehog softly gasped, before glancing at the three of them and frowned in concern. "I thought so. It's 20,000 years too early for the actual beckoning to happen."
"You were studying the Gaia Manuscripts, weren't you? We know a guy named Professor Pickle who's with friends of ours in Shamar." Sun asked.
"Of course I was, and Professor Pickle is my old teacher at high-school. I traveled around the world studying the legends of the Messenger of Light, and I recently found a clue and location of the Gaia Temple here." Star explained, before sighing. "Still, I can't believe it was Dr. Eggman who caused all of this to happen."
"Tell us about it." Sonic sighed, folding his arms. "It...was my fault that I fell into his trap and I couldn't stop him. It's a long story short, actually. I'm helping out my friends here to get their memories back and fixing up the planet as well as the Chaos Emeralds. We've already restored five continents."
This got Star's attention as she glanced at the trio, before nodding. "I think we should talk about this somewhere more privately. I have an idea on what you're talking about."
Even though they felt uneasy on how much this girl knew, Sonic and his friends nodded in agreement before they followed the younger hedgehog down the slightly more deserted part of the beach from the six citizens. Once they found a decent spot close to the shoreline with rocks lined up in a circle, the four of them took seats with Chip deciding to rest on Sonic's lap.
"Okay, this is going to be shocking, but, you know of the legend of Dark Gaia, and everything else? The world splitting up, the clone being born with two entities inside the body, one a soul, the other an embodiment of the dark creatures, that sort of thing?" Star began carefully.
"Pretty much." Sonic shrugged.
The young hedgehog girl nodded slowly and, even though she didn't sense anything wrong with Sun despite that she quickly and sadly realized who he really was, muttered softly. "And you came from him, didn't you?"
Sun gasped as did his brother and Chip, before they shared a worried glance and then back to Star, with the dark-blue hedgehog, feeling his heart ache, sighing as he admitted. "Yeah...I...my body was cloned from Sonic due to Eggman, but my heart, soul and mind are my own. I didn't know at the time."
The trio then explained everything that has happened including the beast inside of Sun, that Sonic tried to help the dark-blue hedgehog to find a cure, to help but Chip's memories back, putting pieces of the world back together, and the recent events that occurred in Shamar just hours ago including the demise of the Werehog-Beast that wanted to take over Sun's body and eat the cobalt hedgehog.
"And that's why we're here. Doing the same thing as we've been doing five times before." Sonic concluded, sighing again. "I'm really sorry."
"Don't be, Sonic. It's not your fault. Everybody knows how much of a creep that Dr. Eggman is." Star shook her head, smiling softly which confused the trio. "The fact that you made it this far just proves that you really are a hero. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, Sun is just like everybody else and while we've only just met, like you, I think he's handsome."
That made both hedgehogs surprised, with Sun blushing once more. Realizing what she just said, Star covered her mouth which made her blush heavily as she stuttered. "I-I'm so sorry! I-I have no idea why I just said that!"
"Um...Thanks, I guess?" The dark-blue hedgehog blinked.
"Guess you had a crush on me before, right?" Sonic teasingly asked.
Groaning, Star nodded as she admitted. "Yeah, but I knew that I'd never get a chance, since, well, even though you're very nice and heroic, I'm not your type, and you already have that beautiful, cool girl Amy Rose who I'm also a fan of, and sweet smart little Tails too. I even had a crush on Knuckles, but he's, well...too hot headed."
"It's okay. I'm not offended. Hey, Tails is near by and Amy's with Professor Pickle in Shamar. If ya' like, you can come with us to meet them after we've placed Adabat back into orbit." The blue hedgehog replied.
"Really!? That's so cool!" Star said happily, before stating. "And as for a return, I'll help you with locating the Gaia Temple. It should hold the key in restoring Chip's memories."
"Really? You think this temple can help me get my memories back?" Chip asked excitedly, flying off of Sonic's lap.
"Of course. While I'm still researching on your true name and why you are the opposite of Dark Gaia, this book shows of a prophecy of many important things of Mobius' history." The lavender hedgehog nodded, opening up her book once more and turned it around to show the trio the page she found.
When Chip, Sonic and Sun stared at it, the trio's eyes widened in surprise when they saw a slightly blurred and silhouette image of the pixie-dog covered in light, with writing in an ancient language neither of them could understand. But there was no mistake of the familiar gem the figure was wearing. Given how hold this book looked, it sent shock-waves into the three Mobians.
"Is that...is that me?" The pixie-dog asked, shocked.
Star nodded. "That's right. It says that every tens of thousands of years, when Dark Gaia comes to destroy the world, the Messenger would appear and restore it. But no one really knows if it is true or not, save for a prophecy."
"What is the prophecy?" Sonic asked, curiously.
"According to the ancient lore, if Dark Gaia was unleashed into the world too early, it would be incomplete and spread across the world. It would try to absorb the darkness and emerge from it's resting place, beneath the final Gaia Temple. The Messenger of Light, along with it's chosen one, would form an armor of the Temples to combat it and with the seven gems of light and darkness, of positive and negative emotions, with enough positive energy would not only save the chosen one's brother or sister, but also transform them into a true human, Mobini or Mobian. But only if they are protected with enough love. But the first two times had failed and the newly born...well..." Star explained and trailed off, lowering her head.
"They would die and never be seen again?" Sun guessed, desponded. To think that twice it happened, and yet his preceedors had fallen and died as a result. Despite Sonic being chosen by the Chaos Emeralds and believing in the bright future, there was a realistic chance that the dark-blue hedgehog won't be saved either given the best efforts.
"Seven gems...The Chaos Emeralds." Sonic realized, despite that he too felt desponded on his brother's fate. While he himself wanted to save him and believe in the brighter future, which he did, the blue hedgehog felt part him say that Sun's demise was unavoidable.
"Yes. The ancestors of those who wrote and hidden the Gaia Manuscripts until the time was right had built the temples to ensure the world would not be destroyed and the armor for the Messenger would be ready. If the world is fixed up before Dark Gaia fully awakens, then there shouldn't be anything to worry about." Star said, before continuing. "However, it would also take the light from the messenger to be inside the chosen one's newly born sibling in order to make him or her's body to be real just like their heart, mind and soul."
"That's not very promising." The dark-blue hedgehog sighed.
"We'll figure something out, Sun. I'm not gonna let you die!" Sonic vowed, determined to make a difference, no matter what it took.
"Me neither! I don't remember what I'm really supposed to do, but I'll do my best to help!" Chip added.
"It's going to be okay." The blue hedgehog continued, placing a hand onto his brother's shoulder. "You're family now."
Sun stared at his brother and friend, before smiling emotionally and wiped away the tears that developed. "Thanks, guys. It means a lot to me."
Sonic and Chip both smiled warmly and the three of them shared another high-five.
Star, even though she hardly knew the trio, couldn't help but feel her heart warmed up. Plus, she dearly hoped that Sonic can do the impossible and save Sun. The young lavender hedgehog wanted to get to know the hero's newest brother.
"Well then, let's get going. The quicker we find the Temple before Egghead blows it up or whatever, the better." The hero of Mobius declared, as he and his friends stood up. "Staria, can you help us get there?"
"Absolutely." Star stood up. "You guys are gonna need all the help you can get. I'll do my best to help out."
"Great! Let's go!" Sonic cheered and his friends including a new one cheered.
It wasn't long before Sonic, Chip, Sun and Star headed down the path following the young hedgehog girl's directions following the map and the boys felt that they were already heading towards the right way. They passed by houses and stilts and to the blue hedgehog's relief, they found more people around. Not much, but maybe a bit more in numbers than in Holoska, and rather lively as they seemed to be decorating.
Star obviously knew the people since she has been staying here for quite a while, so the local were friends of hers. The group of four friends passed by and raced across the rooftops as they headed towards their destination.
"So, Star. I was wondering." Sonic spoke up after they came a good distance from the entrance. He did his best to have his friends keep their pace with him despite that Chip was the only one that was keeping up with him and Sun and Star both lacked the hero's speed. "Why are there such a few people at the village? Was it because of the world splitting apart?"
"Not exactly. The numbers have always been like this and those who grow up either want to remain here or go out and find their places in the rest of the world. They would come and visit, but from what I heard, five of them had gone missing and were presumed dead since ten years ago. They were among the 50 people that were never found." Star explained.
"Oh...Then they were victims of Kaiser's cruelty too." The blue hedgehog muttered, disheartened. While he still felt guilty for not saving the evil Cheetah, Sonic was still furious with the Myth Hunter's animalistic desires of life and had become just as twisted since this started.
"Who's Kaiser?" The lavender hedgehog asked, wearily.
"He's a horrible Cheetah who hunted anything that's Myth and killed a lot of people because he wanted to." Chip explained, shuddering.
Sun groaned, "He was known as the Myth Hunter, and for around 20 or so years, he's been trying to prove that Myths were real and wanted to kill them so that he could sell their dead bodies for money, and he'd kill anyone either who tried to stop him or plainly because he didn't care."
Star gasped in horror. "That's horrible! He didn't try to hurt you, did he?"
"He thought that Sun's you-know-what form was a Werewolf form and wanted him and Chip." Sonic began, before he and his friends explained their first encounter with Kaiser, learning of the horrible Mobian's history, right up to the hunter's death, having been eaten by the Werehog-Beast which Eggman had inadvertently released, before Sonic and Sun defeated the monster.
"I never knew...I'm not sure if I should feel sorry for Kaiser and how he died or not, seeing how he killed so many people. So many lives lost, families torn apart." The fourteen year old girl muttered as she and her new friends paused while nearing the jungle's entrance.
"Same here. I feel bad for not saving him even though he was on GUN's top most wanted list, but I'm furious with all the killings he did. To Mnyambo's people, everybody in Holoska, in Chun-Nan, those fifty people ten years ago..." Sonic paused, lowering his gaze at the reminder of the truth he also learned yesterday. "And...my Uncle Chuck, too."
This made the younger teenager gasp with her hands covering her mouth in horror, while both Sun and Chip gazed at the hero of Mobius in sympathy and sadness before she shared that feeling, and said. "I'm so sorry, Sonic."
Sonic shook his head with a sad smile. "It's okay. I try not to dwell into it. Plus, with Kaiser now gone, I think it gives everybody who lost their friends and families some justice he kinda deserved. Not comfortable with it, though."
"I hate to interrupt, but can we not talk about this? Even with the beast gone, I'm still uneasy with what happened." Sun asked.
Even though none of them could forget it and Star certainly felt torn like the boys did, they decided that it was a good idea to not think about the Shamar incident. So the three hedgehogs and one pixie-dog carried on towards their destination, taking out sudden ambush attacks of Eggman's flying robots. Sonic, Chip and Sun were quite surprised that, as the two hedgehogs took out some of them, Star turned out to be not just a really smart and kind researcher, but also a decent fighter too. She performed a series of using her gripping hooks to lift her up to the side of the buildings and swing-kicked at one of the robots towards a river, smashing it.
She then used the nearby stilts to perform the arts of gymnastics, swinging herself and twirling before kicking another, causing the robot to crash into another which resulted the two destroying each other. Star flipped before letting go and landed safely on the ground, after Sonic defeated two more with his Homing Attack and Sun, getting a little bit better since his brother taught him how to master it on their way through here, Spin Dashed into another robot without crashing himself.
Sonic whistled as he, Sun and Chip regrouped with their new friend. "That was really cool, Star."
"Yeah, wow...You were...amazing." Sun stuttered, stunned with awe.
"Thanks. I did practice in martial arts to defend myself, and I was also the champion in gymnastics of the entire team before I left." Star replied, blushing a little over the compliment.
"That was amazing, Staria! You should have some chocolate!" Chip cheered, handing over another bar to the lavender hedgehog who blinked in surprise, before thanking him.
While Sun gazed at Star for her amazing skills, knowledge and kindness, and even...her beauty, Sonic noticed and smirked, gently elbowing him on the arm. "You're growing up already, buddy."
"What are you talking about?" The dark-blue hedgehog asked, skeptically.
"Come on, bro. I know that look on any guy who quickly becomes head over heels with a girl, and sometimes in reverse. You really like her, don'tcha?" The blue hedgehog replied.
That made Sun blush again before looking away to avoid his face been shown and grumbled. "Zip it! I only just met her."
"Relax, I won't say anything." Sonic chuckled, patting his brother on the shoulder and gestured him to follow. The other hedgehog groaned before he followed his brother quickly to catch up.
After catching up with Star and Chip, they, Sonic and Sun continued onward towards their destination and finally reached the jungle which, despite that the dark-blue hedgehog wasn't looking forward in going through another jungle, was absolutely beautiful. It had lots of forest greenery, rocky cliffs, fallen trees, vines which Sonic happily grind-railed on for fun and the others followed, waterfalls and large rivers.
But when it came to leaving one part of the jungle and into a clearing, the four travelers came a stop when they saw they were standing on a cliff with a huge tree branch looming over them and over a large body of water which made Sonic nervous. Sure he could run over it, and Chip could fly, but he wasn't sure about Sun and the blue hedgehog certainly didn't feel like another watery death trap after Chun-Nan.
"Uh, anybody got ideas how we can cross?" Sonic asked, sheepishly.
"If I were in my Werehog form, I could stretch out my arms to grab that branch while you guys held onto me and we could swing over. But waiting for nighttime would take too long and I don't fancy of turning into that again yet." Sun sighed, folding his arms.
"You can do that?" Star asked, surprised.
"It comes in handy. Actually, that's one downside in being cured. I kind of like doing that, and it helps with climbing too." The dark-blue hedgehog admitted.
"Yeah, it was fun climbing up that wall the other night." The blue hedgehog remembered.
"Well then, maybe I can teach you use to use these and then you can do it whenever you want to." The lavender hedgehog suggested, adding. "I can get us across."
The boys stared at her in confusion, before she unhooked her gripping hooks, aimed carefully and fired which had the claws and rope swing around the branch until they were tied up and once she made sure they were nice and firm, she instructed Sonic, Sun and Chip to hold onto her. Despite the concern of being too heavy for the girl, they did as they were told before Star lifted her legs and the four of them swung off the cliff and right over the water. As Sonic and his friends cried out in alarm at first, the blue hedgehog soon quickly cheered which was shared by Chip and even Sun, amazed by these very useful items, smiled happily and gazed at the female hedgehog for coming up with this idea.
Now he really wanted to know this girl better. Despite that he knew he should be careful in trusting other people, the dark-blue hedgehog felt his insides tell him that she was a person to be trusted, and be friends with. Sun could only hope that he would be saved so that he could get some gripping hook lessons from her and whoever else would know where he could get his own once he was cured and made a real Mobian.
Once the group made it to the other side, Star untied her hooks that came apart from the branch and returned to her before she put them away on her belt.
"Tada!" Star grinned proudly.
"Thanks a bunch, Star. Great job!" Sonic praised, giving his new friend a wink with a thumbs up.
"That was so cool!" Chip cheered.
"Thanks!" The lavender hedgehog smiled.
Sun smiled warmly at their new friend, before he said, slightly embarrassed. "If I stay alive after this adventure is over, I think I'll take up the offer in learning how to use those things. I like them already."
Star blushed in surprised, before giggling, her hands clasped together as she felt bashful about the dark-blue hedgehog. While she was aware that he originated from Sonic, he was already a real Mobian and she found herself wanting to know more about him as well. Secretly behind Sun, Sonic and Chip both smiled proudly as the two other hedgehogs seemed to already be getting along.
Despite Sun's moody nature, it was nice to see how much he'd grown to live a bit more lively.
But as the four of them hurried to move on, Sonic suddenly felt the back of his neck and his quills prickle a little, making him slow to a stop which confused the others who paused in their steps as well. He held out his hand while gesturing them to keep silent, glancing around the trees as the blue hedgehog sensed that they weren't alone. The group moved a bit more slowly, unaware that there were pieces of rope within the trees. Which unfortunately as the blue hedgehog and his friends took another step, the ground suddenly gave way and the three hedgehogs all feel into the pit trap.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Sonic, Sun and Star all screamed before a net suddenly came up and caught Chip, who didn't fall since he was floating and screamed as he was also captured, and it held them all trapped inside and hanging up from the trees.
"Oh, come on! What now!?" Sun exclaimed angrily, having had enough of being captured and ambushed in one week.
"I don't remember reading up about any traps set around here!" Star cried out, nervously.
"Hey! Let us out!" Sonic shouted at whoever it was that set up the trap, as he and his friends struggled to free themselves, but they were all piled up in an awkward position and couldn't get out.
"HELP! We've been captured!" Chip cried out, pleadingly, and soon Star and Sun joined him and Sonic crying out for help and/or to be let go.
It wasn't until they heard something approach from the bushes and as Sonic and his friends struggled to break free, the four of them saw a shockingly 35 foot tall male Mobian Gorilla in dark grey colours, wearing hand-made clothes from old material. Shocked and becoming scared despite both the blue and dark-blue hedgehogs attempting to hide their fears with glares, they, the lavender hedgehog and pixie-dog tried to free themselves harder in desperation while the Gorilla stared down at them, before he simply plucked the net from the tree and held the smaller Mobians still trapped inside the net to his face as they tried out in alarm.
"I don't know what this is all about, but let us go!" Sonic demanded bravely, glaring at the huge ape.
The Gorilla stared at the teenager back, before asking in a deep voice. "Sorry about that. I thought you were those pesky robbers trying to steal my fruit again."
"Huh?" The group muttered in confusion, before being gently put down and the net was cut open and they were freed.
"Um, thanks. But, who are you?" The blue hedgehog asked as he and his friends stood up slowly.
"My name is Gaiver. I've lived here for the last twelve years." Gaiver the Gorilla replied. "I can guess you're wondering why I'm, uh, not an average height Mobian."
"That was the second thing on my mind. Do you usually capture people thinking they're thieves or something?" Sun replied.
"Not really. But if you see those two dumb Chimp thieves, you might want to tell them that the next time they try to steal my fruit from the trees, they would be dumped in a pit of dung beetles that would be shoved up their noses." Gaiver said.
"Ew." Star cringed in disgust, and Chip, Sonic and Sun shuddered. "That's just gross."
"I second that." Sonic muttered in agreement. "But those two guys sound pretty dumb if they're that hungry."
"Excuse me, Mr. Gaiver. How did you grow so big?" Chip asked, curiously.
The over-grown Gorilla sighed. "It is a very long story, little one. Twelve years ago, I was an archaeologist learning the history of our world, until an evil scientist captured me and wanted me to provide information. He was taken to his lab in a region far from here."
"Scientist? He wouldn't happen to have been a fat human guy who used robots to attack people?" The blue hedgehog asked, frowning in anger. If Eggman was behind Gaiver's sudden growth problem, then the mad doctor was really in for it big time.
"A human with robots? He wouldn't happen to have been riding in that strange hovercraft, piloting a giant spider like robot?" Gaiver asked, becoming concerned.
That made Sonic's group frown even further in concern, sharing a knowing look as Sonic muttered with narrowed eyes. "Eggman. He's already here."
"Great. Trust Ro-butt-nik to be causing problems in this place too." Sun groaned in annoyance, facepalming himself.
"That guy causes problems wherever he goes." The blue hedgehog pointed out.
"Good point." The dark-blue hedgehog nodded.
"Which way did Beach-Ball Man go?" Chip asked, worriedly.
"I only saw him fly over to the jungle and if the legend is true, the Temple of Gaia is located there. But I overheard him say something about attacking a blue hedgehog, which must be you and your friends, child." The huge Gorilla replied and said to Sonic.
"Pretty much. I'm Sonic the Hedgehog, and these are my friends, Chip, Sun the Hedgehog, and Staria." Sonic responded. "We're on our way to the Temple to save the world and stop Eggman from taking it over."
"We're sorry we can't stay to hear how you grew, Mr. Gaiver, but this is very important." Star apologetically said.
"Which way did Eggman go?" Sun asked.
"Follow the vines and the river." Gaiver instructed, before telling the younger Mobians. "Be careful."
"Thanks, Gaiver, and don't worry about that trap. We'll make up the misunderstanding later." Sonic nodded, giving the huge Gorilla, who he now knew and sensed that this guy, large or not, wasn't that bad. He then told his friends to hold on and after the four of them said their goodbyes to Gaiver, they rushed off to find Eggman and once again stop him from causing anymore problems.
While preparing themselves for what kind of other dangers that may be in the jungle, hoping that they weren't too late.
A/N: Not as good as I hoped, but I'm trying not to make this continent only just one chapter. The introduction of Staria Amantha just came into my head and I think she may play another, larger role in future stories. Hard to say at this point. Anyway, the next chapter sees the group fight Eggman again.
See you later!
