(Bella's POV)
We pulled up to the restaurant and I got out of the car and walked up to see Angela and Jessica exit the restaurant. They seemed to be relieved to see me which made sense since I've been gone for a few hours and gotten lost. Looking at my phone, I saw that they left a few messages making me curse under my breath.
"Where were you!? We left you a lot of messages and you didn't answer!" Angela said worried making me let out a small smile. Glad to see they were worried.
"We could've waited for you, but we were starving." Jessica said while I let out a snort. I couldn't blame them when they turned silent. Guess Edward decided to come out of his car now, looking behind me and seeing him act like his charming self. That won't work on me but on Jessica and Angela, it worked.
"Sorry I kept Bella from dinner. We ran into each other and strated talking for a while" He said. So that's the story we're going with huh. It makes sense but I prefer the butt kicking I gave those guys than talking.
"I-We understand. We were just leaving so" Jessica answered while I rolled my eyes. I better join them since they were my ride home. Hopefully, Clint cooked something up and put something aside for me just in case.
"Okay, Thanks Edward. I'll see you tomorrow" I said to the brown-haired Cullen before starting to walk to catch up to the two.
"Maybe I should make sure Bella gets something to eat. If you'd like. Then I could drive you back myself" He said abruptly making me stop in my tracks. Did I just hear that right? Edward Cullen the guy who's been having these weird mood swings offering this.
"That's so thoughtful" Angela said looking at me with a knowing smirk. Rolling my eyes at her and Jessica wondering what was going through their mind.
"Really thoughtful" Jessica added while I debated on what to do. On one hand, I can go back, grab something quick to eat before we continue our research or I could stay here, get a free meal and try to get some answers out of Edward.
"I could eat" I told him. He guides me off while I looked behind me and see the two share a look before letting out a noiseless scream of excitement. I better hope this doesn't get out to the school
We were sitting on the dock, the waterfall behind us shimmering while I listened to its calming noise. The waitress placed a steaming plate of mesquite roasted salmon in front of me but nothing in front of Edward. It made sense since Vampires can't digest food anymore.
"This is not a date understand. You have to ask me properly first than out of the blue" I told him since I wanted to make it clear he needs to put some effort in to make me get into a relationship.
"I understand" Edward said making me nod. Looking at his empty space, it was gonna get some getting used to before shrugging.
"Not gonna eat?" I asked him as he shakes his head. I can't blame him since knowing them, they might have to throw it up afterwards.
"I'm on a special diet" He answered while trying to figure out how to ask him the things we need to know without letting him know.
"Like how you can't come to La Push?" I asked him taking a bite of the salmon. I still gotta let Jacob down since I just don't feel that way about him.
"Not exactly" He said. That confirmed the treaty between them. It must have been really irritating to him not being able to read my mind.
"So, you gonna give me answers or do I have to guess?" I asked him trying to see any kind of signs of him about to lie.
"Yes, no. To get to the other side, and 1 point 772453851" He answered while I tried not to let him know I was getting a bit annoyed with him. Letting out a sigh of frustration, I just look at him trying to figure the puzzle that was him out.
"I didn't ask a yes or no question. I didn't ask how something got across or why. I didn't even ask for the square root of pi" I told him making him look at me in surprise at what I said.
"You knew that?" He asked making me nod. I wasn't an idiot and constantly hanging out with the Science siblings, you tend to pick up some things.
"How did you know where I was? It seemed to be too much of a coincidence for you to show up all of a sudden" I asked him as he kept his stoic look.
"I didn't" He answered while I shake my head before standing up to get some fresh air. The last thing I need to do was to get frustrated right now.
"Don't go" He said sincerely making me stop. So he can show other emotions beside anger and calmness. Sitting back down, it was time to get some answers.
"So, considering everything... You were following me weren't you?" I asked him looking at him and seeing some kind of slight movement. I was on the right track.
"I feel very protective of you" He answered making me snort. Yeah right, I don't need protection. If I get threatened by even the simplest guy. Clint, Kelly and Bri will have my butt back into hellish training before I can even think it.
"So that's a yes on everything" I said to him smirking as he looked at me.
"Yes, I followed you. I tried to keep my distance until you needed help" He said while wondering what he thinks of me. A little helpless girl.
"I'm not helpless Edward and you can't read my mind which you can do" I told him surprising him making me I just smirked. Looks like everything we knew is right so far.
"How did you know?" He asked surprised while I just shrugged.
"You were getting frustrated or annoyed everytime you were near me. So either you smelled something or annoyed at me for not being able to read my mind or both" I said to him seeing him tensed up. So, it was both, didn't expect that.
"I just don't get one thing. Why can't you read my mind?" I asked him which was surprising. He looked at me surprised before smiling.
"You figured out I can read minds and you wonder why I can't read yours" He said before his smile faded away making me tense up looking around.
"What is it?" I asked him while placing my purse to my side and reaching in.
"I don't have the strength to stay away from you" The Mind Reader said making me look at him. So he's been trying to stay away from me but he can't anymore.
"Then don't. I'm the one made for you aren't I?" I answered him before he looked at me realizing something.
"How did... You're one of them, aren't you? Someone like Toby and Clockwork?" He asked making me smirk as that was all the answer he needed.
"We better go. You need to talk to my mentors" I told him standing up. He followed suit as he paid the bill and drove us back to my house.
My mind was racing through all the possibilities, but one thing was clear. I didn't get all the answers I need that we can complete the research. Why did they leave when it was sunny? If I was the one made for him then what did that mean for Clint and Kelly. We pulled up to the house as we got out of the car and I rushed to the door and knocked on it.
(Clint's POV)
It's been an hour now, we know she's still alive but something happened since it was taking her longer than usual to get here. I saw Kelly sitting on the couch petting Oreo while Bri was going through her table muttering about new medicine for certain injuries. Hearing someone knock on the door, I got up and opened it. Bella is back but I didn't expect for Edward to be there which only meant one thing.
"He knows" I said simply as Bella nodded. Gesturing for the two of them to come in, I gave a look at Bri and Kelly who nodded. Bri seemed excited since it meant that if the pretty boy did know then it meant he could help us out on something.
"So what do you know?" Kelly asked glaring at the Vampire who looked at us.
"I know Bella is part of your little group. Clockwork" Edward said while that just made Kelly glare harder.
"He can read minds" She said while I paled knowing that I was thinking of Alice a bit but nothing inappropriate since that felt weird. I could see him smirking while I just gave him a glare before he realized something.
"Wait does that mean you know we're..." Edward said trailing off while we nodded before Bri grabbed his wrist and started dragging him to the base.
"Now come on" Bri said as we were about to go down before Leah and Edward saw each other. Leah immediately rushed over to Bri standing in front of her growling. Edward stood in front of Bella protectively.
"What is a bloodsucker doing here?" The shapeshifter asked while I facepalmed knowing what it meant. Great the treaty is coming in effect and Leah has a dislike for Vampires.
"What is a shapeshifter doing here?" Edward asked back while I traded glances with Kelly who grinned before nodding. I got behind Leah while Kelly got in front of Edward grinning madly.
"Now" I said simply while I hit the backside of Leah's head while Kelly slapped Edward making the two glared at us before I gave them my own glare making them freeze up while Bella immediately hid behind Bri.
"Worth it" Kelly said smirking while rubbing her hand. Huh, so that meant he probably became as hard as a rock then.
"I will not tolerate fighting from two different kinds that have a treaty or whatever grudges and the like you have. Leave it at the door since this place is a neutral land" I told them sternly giving them what Bella described as the glare from Hades himself. The two nodded with a bit of fear while I smirked.
"Good. Edward we need your help with something" I said to Edward who looked curious while I saw Bri smiling giddily and Leah's eyes widen before she gained a small smirk.
We headed down to the Headquarters. Edward looked around appreciatively before letting out a small whistle impressed on the cars in the garage. Kelly rushed off to grab a camera to record what we were about to do and a extra one for her own usage. Bri went to the equipment room while I led Edward to the testing room with Bella.
"So what are you gonna have me test?" He asked when we entered the room. I just looked at him smirking while grabbing a tablet from a table and turning it on.
"You'll see soon enough. Shirts off please and stand in the circle" I told him while Bella look at me smirking. Oh god no.
"Clint, what would Alice think if you would see me shirtless?" She asked making me blush while Edward tried not to laugh.
"I didn't mean you Bella. I mean. Ugh" I said letting out a groan. I watched as Edward took his top off before standing in the circle.
"No staring Bella" I added in when I noticed Bella staring as she glared at me while I smirked. Bri rolled in a tray with a few things on it while Kelly brought in the camera equipment as she got set up.
"Alright. Here we go" Bri said while Leah look at the devices shivering. So, Bri had Leah test them to see how it would work on them.
"Just glad it's not me this time" Leah said scowling while Bri rolled her eyes as she kissed Leah cheek.
"Better? Good" She said while Leah just blushed lightly. Me and Bri got behind the console and started typing as a clear wall appeared in front of us.
"Why are you standing behind a wall?" Edward asked nervously. So, I shouldn't mention how the things we made tend to blow up. I probably should. Turning on a focused light that can resemble the sun own light on a sunny day, we saw Edward was sparkling while Kelly looked at him before bursting out in laughter.
"Oh god. He's sparkling. A Glittery Sparkly Vampire" Kelly said between laughs before leaning on the console laughing harder. So that meant their body composition was probably made from something that shines in the sun. If we're right then it's probably granite.
"So probably something stone like. Nothing fragile so it meant they have something like a granite body or something" Bri whispered tapping quickly on her tablet.
"Why we're standing behind a wall. It's nothing. Now mind putting on the bracelet" I told him as he did just that grabbing the small black bracelet as a green strip light up on it. Turning the light off, I snapped my fingers in front of Bella face who snapped out of it blushing lightly.
"Now tap the green strip. If it goes well then it shouldn't blow up or cause an explosion" Bri said making Edward look at us quickly hearing that.
"Blow up? What do you mean blow up?" Edward asked us while we looked at him. Bri looked at him annoyed at this point
"Just tap the damn thing" She said as he did just that. I turned the light back on as we saw he wasn't glowing and his skin started taking on some color.
"It worked. IT WORKED!" She shouted hugging me while I stood there stunned. It worked but before we could celebrate more. The bracelet started sparking before letting out a black smoke explosion. When it cleared, Edward was covered in soot.
"Back to the drawing board for that one" I said as Edward quickly removed the bracelet from his wrist.
"Yeah. We have to count in their body composition but we need to adjust that a lot. What's next?" Bri asked me while looking at the devices on the cart. There was a sword there that needed testing. I made it in mind for allowing Vampires to use it but I never had anyone test it before.
"Mind picking up the sword. It was made with the intention to help a vampire fight" I told Edward who picked it up gently admiring how it was made. It took quite some time since learning how to forge a proper blade took me two months total before being able to learn it completely but even then I had some failures when creating it on my own.
"Alright. Try using your strength and include the sword in it please" Bri said as a training dummy popped up while Edward tore it easily while the sword sliced quickly through the dummy before the handle broke. It worked but the handle needs work. I need something like light steel.
"Try using the necklace next. It should help fight back that thirst but it's a prototype so we still have no idea how it'll respond" Bri said as he gently put down the sword before putting the necklace on.
"Feel anything different?" I asked him as he shakes his head. Well that was a complete and utter fail. We saw the necklace spark before letting out smoke. It then let out oil spraying it over Edward.
"I think that's it for now" I said as Bella handed him a towel. After he put his shirt back on, we headed to the main lounge of the base.
"How long have you been hunting them?" He asked us after we sat down. How long has it been? We just didn't track time for how long now since it was just watching everyday repeat the same process.
"Probably six months by now. We have our own fair of scars" I answered before Kelly rubbed her left shoulder, Bri was clutching her thigh, Bella winced remembering her own scar and touched her side. I touched my chest grimacing.
"So how come you haven't told Alice and Rosalie you know yet?" He asked us making us stop. There was a lot of reason why, but it was just too personal.
"We can't answer that. It's just too close to us" Kelly said glaring at him as he stopped the line of questions.
"Now if you're gonna take Bella here on a date. You need to get mine, Kelly, Clint and her Dad permission first" Bri said smirking while Leah held her close glaring at Edward.
"Fair enough" He said while I gave Bri and Kelly a certain look. We need to head out to do a mission, there was a trail in Los Angeles we need to follow.
"Bella, we need to head out. There's a trail in Los Angeles we need to follow" I told Bella who nodded about to stand up when I held my hand up.
"It's just me, Bri and Clint. You need to stay here and provide the cover story" Kelly said as we stood up before going to the locker room and changing into our Hunter attire.
"If anyone asks, We headed to Los Angeles to see a Fashion designer which isn't a lie" Jane said before Leah looked at her worried.
"Stay safe. If you die, I'll bring you back to life then make sure you don't die again" Leah said making us look at her. Jane just let out a snort of amusement hearing that.
"What about me or Kelly?" I asked her as Leah just stared at us with an uncaring look.
"The two bloodsuckers can turn you or something" She said making our eyes widen. Wow, why not hit lower.
"Edward. Remember" I said to the Vampire who held his hands up understanding.
"Don't worry I won't tell them or even let Rosalie and Alice you know about them. Just tell me something. Do you like them?" He asked me and Kelly. Kelly just smirked while I remained silent. He just smirked at us getting the answers he needed as we left.
(Bella's POV)
I was walking out of chemistry class while wondering how the three were. They left me here to make sure I can provide a good cover story but it still irritates me since it meant they didn't want me to get involve in a mission like that. What reason would they have? Why won't they let me come? Whatever thought I still have stopped when I saw Alice, Rosalie and Edward standing in front of me.
"Where's Clint and Kelly?" Alice asked curiously while I looked at Edward who shrugged. Well glad to see he has my back then.
"They had to go to Los Angeles. A Fashion Designer wanted to have them model some clothes" I told the shorter girl who eyes widen before a small smile crossed her face.
"Well Clint definitely didn't say he knew any fashion designers" Alice said making me pale. I looked at Rosalie who was thinking something. Oh god, these two love to go shopping. I knew by their looks. Good luck, Clint and Kelly you two might need it.
"When did they leave?" Rosalie asked while I try to find a way to get out of here.
"Yesterday" I answered the female blonde while wondering how they were doing. Hopefully they were having an easy time since they never mentioned any kind of direct fighting. It's not like they have to fight a horde of monsters or something.
(Jane's POV)
Who in the hell jinxed us? Somehow we ended fighting a group of monsters. Toby was burying his hatchets repeatedly into a Nemean Lion back, I was fighting a gorgon while Clockwork was fighting a minotaur. It was just supposed to be a simple in and out mission that would requires us not to alert monsters but somehow, someway. Someone jinxed us.
"Anyone want to bet it's Bella again?" Clockwork asked rolling out of the Minotaur strike. Well, she can hold a grudge against a person but then again Bella did jinx her.
"Oh, come on. If it is, I'll personally give her a bit more training" Toby said before shooting the nemean lion in the mouth killing it as it turned to dust.
"Better keep that promise" Clockwork said sliding beneath the minotaur and grabbed her scythe pulling the minotaur down with it.
"Clockwork NO!" I shouted realizing what she was about to do. She just grinned wider as she pulled out her knife.
"Clockwork YES!" She shouted stabbing the minotaur where the sun doesn't shine making all male monsters and Clint winced.
"Too far Clockwork Too far" Toby said a bit scared while Clockwork just shrugged before chasing another male monster who ran off. I can't say I blame him but I don't have to feel pity for him since they were trying to kill some civilians.
(Bella POV)
They're probably fine. I looked at Edward before getting an idea. I pushed through Alice and Rosalie and went to the parking lot. I looked at Edward before getting in my car and driving to the forest. If I was right, he would be here by now.
"Hey. Where are we heading?" Edward asked getting into the car while I just let out a smirk. I stepped on the gas pedal and drove to the house. He looked at me asking for an explanation.
"We got the movie room to ourselves besides I got a few seasons of a show I need to binge watch" I answered him getting out of the car as he followed suit.
Heading to the movie room and setting up everything we need. I grabbed a soda and sat down beside Edward as the show started playing. I haven't watch Friends in a while now but it became my favorite show after Clint and Kelly showed it to me.
"Never knew you were a fan of this show" Edward said while I just shrugged at him.
"There's a lot you don't know about me" I answered him going back to the show before feeling him loop his arm around my shoulders.
"I won't be getting to know about those things then" He answered while we watch the next four seasons in silent before hearing a couple of people arriving.
"They're here" I told Edward as I saw Leah rushed to the base as we did the same. It wasn't good, Bri was wrapping a bandage around Clint shoulder and chest.
"What happened?" Leah asked after seeing what happened to him before letting out a breathe of relief after seeing Bri and Kelly were fine.
"Idiot tried to grab the file we need. He did but he got injured in the process" Kelly answered glaring at him. He looked away chuckling nervously.
"Well I couldn't let the file get lost now besides we at least have information now" He answered while Bri sighed handing him some painkillers.
"Nothing too serious. Just some light burns, slight cuts on your upper shoulder. Just take these painkillers and take it easy for now" Bri said while Clint swallowed the painkillers. Bri made these to speed up healing but the taste will make you want to vomit.
"Got it" He answered grimacing at the taste. He looked at us noticing how close me and Edward are before I pulled away. I saw Bri and Kelly look at me smirking.
"Bella and Edward sitting in a tree" Kelly started singing making Leah smirk.
"K-I-S-S-I-N-G" Bri finished making me blush burying my head into Edward chest. Kelly just laughed harder seeing this.
"Alright you two. Edward you gotta take Bella on more dates before asking her man" Clint teased Edward who only rolled his eyes.
"Shut up you three" I said growling out while they just smirked at me. Clint looked at Edward with a questioning look.
"Why do you call yourself Vegetarian Vampires?" He asked Edward who looked at him wondering where he heard the term.
"We call ourselves vegetarians because we drink blood from animals. They're like living tofu. It keeps you strong but isn't very satisfying" He answered while Clint nodded. Kelly heard something as she looked at me.
"Binge watching Friends?" She asked me making me surprised. How did she know about that?
"How did you" I was about to ask her but she cut me off when I heard how loud the speakers were.
"You can hear it from here. I can use a Series marathon" Kelly said going to change as Bri and Clint followed after her.
(Kelly's POV)
We were sitting in the living room with Clint and Alice since Rosalie doesn't trust the two alone anymore, not after last time. Bri and Leah went to the beach to hang out there while I see Edward and Bella washing Bella's Camaro. It was pretty hilarious though and I was able to get a picture. It also means I have a front row seat to Clint trying to impress Alice. Guess he finally accepted he was falling for her, but doesn't mean I can't have my fun.
"You really shouldn't worry about them doing something" I told Rosalie who was watching the two with a hard glare at the male.
"I still don't believe you. No one can be that dense and innocence" She said making me smirk. This was gonna be fun.
"Alright. I bet you that he is and if you lose, I get a kiss" I said to her smirking while she looked at me with a raised eyebrow before smirking.
"Okay, if I win I get to take you out earlier than a week" She said making me nod. I wasn't gonna deny that since either way it's a win-win. Looking at the teen, a plan formed in my head. Sorry Clint but I want to win this.
"Hey Clint, mind getting me a soda?" I asked him as he looked at me a bit surprised since him and Alice were in the middle of making the melody.
"Sure. Anyone want anything while I'm in the kitchen?" He asked Alice and Rosalie who shakes their head as he stands up and heads into the kitchen. I gave a smirk to Alice who's eyes widen knowing what I was about to do.
"Hey, Clint, did you know Alice likes someone in school?" I asked him as he looks at me in surprise but I could see a bit of hurt in his eyes.
"Really? Who's the lucky guy?" He asked me while Rosalie looked at me thinking she won while I smirked back.
"Clinton Pamplona" I said while Alice looked at me both surprised and in panic since she didn't want him to know yet. I saw the gears turning in his head before he looked at us in surprised.
"There's another Clinton Pamplona? Why haven't I met him yet?" The unofficial leader of our group asked making me burst out in laughter. Oh god, it always get funnier with each one. I saw Rosalie and Alice look at Clinton both in shock and amazement, I could feel Edward staring at him from outside while Bella just facepalmed since she knew why he was quiet.
"What?" He asked confused seeing our looks which only made me laugh harder. Oh god, I could see Alice looking at him in amazement.
"You win" Rosalie said kissing my cheek making me freeze up and blush. Did she really just kiss me? Once it set in, I grinned happily before deciding to get another one. I tossed Alice a jacket, the same one Clint was wearing before he went into the kitchen.
"Put it on" I told Alice who did just that before pulling it closer to her and just snuggling deeper into it. Clint came back handing me the soda before noticing Alice wearing his jacket who froze up and looked at him.
"So why is Alice wearing my jacket? Isn't hers over there?" Clint asked confused while I just smirked. Rosalie looked at me competitively having a small smirk since even he can't miss that. Oh how wrong she was.
"Clinton...Don't you know what it means when a girl wears a boys clothes?" Rosalie asked and I can see Clint processing it slowly before his eyes widen. Oh crap, did he finally realized while she looked at me knowing that she won.
"Oh I know...It's because she likes the color of my jacket" Clint said with his eyes close and a small smile on his face. I can see Edward look at Bella who was trying to explain to him what happened while I just fell down on the floor rolling around in laughter. He was dense to the point that the word itself is embarrassed.
"Not at all" Rosalie said surprised at him. She looked at me wondering how such a human can exist while I just kept on laughing.
"Huh?" He asked still confused while Alice just pulled him back to the loveseat as they got back to work.
"It means that" Rosalie said about to say it before I covered her mouth. No point in spoiling such an innocent and romantic bonding time.
"She likes the jacket" I answered as he nodded in understanding before they got back to work with Alice cuddling into him yet he doesn't even realize what she was doing. Yup the word would be ashamed after seeing him.
"Just how?" She asked me. I just gave her a look since even I don't know how someone can be so dense. It was just too impossible.
"I don't know but it's not like we can change it" I said to her as the two would be couple entered the house as Edward looked at the two on the couch smirking before taking a small picture. Rosalie just pulled me closer while we were working.
"So any plans tomorrow?" Clint asked Bella who looked at Edward who nodded. So either he was gonna introduce her to the family or were gonna go on a date.
"I'm gonna meet the rest of Edward family" Bella said making Alice and Rosalie look at him in surprised as he just gave them a look. Well, that meant I could get some training in with Clinton.
"So you never said you knew a fashion designer" Alice said changing the topic quickly making the teen look at her.
"We do but I don't know why that would interest you" He said. You stupid fucking idiot, you just gave them something that might cause us to be dressed up like a doll. I can feel Rosalie piercing look trying to assess me for future shopping trips.
"You'll see" She said as he realized what he's done. Too late now, I really wished he would think his words every time but that would be a miracle in itself.
"So..I get another kiss right?" I asked Rosalie who rolled her eyes before kissing my cheek again. This was definitely the best thing that happened to me.
"Clint, do you like anyone?" Alice asked him making him pressed the wrong keys on the electric piano. He looked at her in surprised while I pulled out my phone while looking at Rosalie.
"I'll send you a copy later" I told her simply while I just smirked seeing Clint stumble over his words. This was just too good to be true and we got front row seats.
"Yes I do like someone" He answered making the pixie-like girl look at him both in surprised and a knowing look.
"Is this someone you're close with?" She asked while he just stammered. Well she's got him cornered, poor guy but I don't feel bad for him.
"You can say that" He said while going back to play the piano. Great distraction but it won't work.
"What do you think of her then?" She said making him stop. Come on Romeo, say something genuine like you usually do.
"She's the most amazing person I ever met. Every time I spend time with her, it's like whatever problems I have just go away and I don't have to hide who I am. I can just be myself around her and we can just tease each other. I love how optimistic she is and how she always find the bright side of everything. I've fallen for her and I don't regret it since it means I can get to know her better and just keep falling for her" He answered while I let out a whistle. There he goes again, Mr. Genuine who always speaks from his heart. I see Alice smiling brightly looking at Clint while he just smiled back.
Oh god, the cuteness of those two just wants me to barf. How can any two people just give a presence of such innocent love. It should be impossible yet here they are. I feel the same way about Rosalie but we understand what might happen when it comes to love. When I look at Alice and Clint, I know they'll survive the dark parts of it since they can work as a team. Thinking of me and Rosalie, I know she won't hurt me and I won't hurt her. That's a vow that I will uphold forever, call me selfish but I don't care. I'm not gonna lose her. I just cuddled into Rosalie enjoying the time we have right now.
