CONGRATULATIONS Jason00! (part 1) I never remember which side is which, so I thought that'd be a fun thing to put.
NOTE: I have no idea where you can find a Nene Goose on Maui. Purely imagination, but the location is real.

"This is so romantic." Sue said as she and Jack took an evening stroll later that day on a path that winded around the hotel grounds.
Jack nodded. "It is."
"I love it here. It's so beautiful!"
"ME TOO, BUT ME LIKE HOME SAME." He replied.
She nodded. "BUT YOU FIND THAT BIRD NEAR HOME? NO." Sue signed, pointing to an exotic bird, perched on a tree nearby.
Jack laughed. "Yeah, well, there's something about where you live, where you're from. Besides, could you imagine Christmas without snow?"
Sue laughed. "No, I couldn't, but could you imagine it snowing on Easter?"
Now it was Jack's turn to laugh. "Snow?"
Sue nodded. "I've seen it, a few times. You should too, since you're from Wisconsin."
"Yeah, I do seem to remember a few cold ones growing up. But I also remember some scorchers too. I haven't been home for Easter in a long while." He replied.
"Do you miss it?"
Jack frowned. "Miss what?"
"Wisconsin, small towns. I saw how you lit up when we went to your home for Christmas."
He slowly nodded. "Yes, but I do love where I'm at as well.
"Do you ever want to move back?" She asked.
"If you don't mind?" He asked. "I've always pictured myself going back one day. Probably after I'm forced to retire. I couldn't stand working behind a desk like D."
"What would you do?"
Jack shrugged. "DON'T KNOW." He signed. "Maybe I'd start up a little private eye business, and just relax with the occasional job now and then."
Sue smiled. "I think I'd like that, living in a small midwestern town, hearing about your latest mystery."
"YOU DO-DO?"
Sue shrugged. "Maybe I could get a job at a handsome private eye's office as a receptionist?"
Jack laughed. "You're hired."
Sue smiled, looking out on the path. "Ooh! Look!" Sue whispered, seeing a cute little native animal scurry across the path.
Jack smiled. It was always fun taking a walk with Sue. She always pointed out the best parts.

"I was wondering if you knew where I could find some Nene Geese in the wild?" Mya asked the front desk the next morning.
"I'm sorry, but Nenes are very rare, and aren't commonly found on Maui." The woman behind the desk replied. "But if you'd like to try, you can try on the beach between Haycraft park and Sugar beach." She replied, slightly whispering.
Mya smiled widely through her mask. "Thank you." She said, then happily walked to the guys' hut, knocking on the door.
"Hey!" Josh said when he opened the door.
"Hey! You wanna help me find a Nene Goose?"
Josh chuckled, shaking his head. "Sure."
While they were talking, she heard a commotion in the background. "What's going on?"
"They're getting ready for their piloting lesson. Everyone came over here, trying to convince me and Howie to come along." Josh explained.
"And you said no, right?" Mya suspiciously asked.
He smiled. "Yes, of course."
"Good, cause I like you in one piece, not in 50,000, scattered all around the island."
Josh sort-of smiled at her.
"Ready?" She asked.
"Yeah, let me go grab my stuff."
Mya nodded as she watched him go inside, coming out a few seconds later with a backpack.
"Aw come on, mate! You're going to miss out on all the fun!" Bobby called after him as he walked out the door.
"Enjoy yourselves!" Josh replied as he closed the door.
Mya smiled widely. "Ready for an adventure?"
Josh returned the smile. "Definitely."

"Those guys are nuts." Darcy complained, the women sitting by the pool. "I can't believe they'd have the audacity to do something like that!"
"You know, the more you think and complain about something, the more annoyed you get about it." Lucy replied.
"Says a woman whose husband is a few yards away from her." Darcy complained, pointing to the other end of the pool, chatting with the few men that stayed behind.
"Sitting around here complaining isn't going to bring them back. How about we all go into town and adventure?" Sue suggested.
Sarah smiled. "Good idea. We can get distracted by shopping and sightseeing."
"And we can take what men we have left." Donna suggested.
"Good idea. Let's go." Sarah replied, getting up. The rest of the women followed, walking to the men.
"What's up?" Mark asked, seeing the women.
"You're coming with us." Lucy explained.
"Ah, and where might that be?" Bob asked.
"To the city, shopping and sightseeing." Lucy clarified.
"And what makes you think we would like to come with you?" Howie asked.
"Because we asked you to, no, demanded you to." Carla said.
The men looked at each other. "Alright. We'll go." Howie said. "Besides, I'll be able to see what Hawaii looks like!"
"There's the spirit!" Sue exclaimed.
?-?
"Here it is." Josh said, turning into a small parking lot.
"Great!" Mya happily smiled, getting her camera ready. "Let's find some Nene Geese!"
They both got out of the car quietly so as to not spook any nearby wildlife. Slowly but surely, they trekked through the little woods, searching. Suddenly, Mya heard something, stopped, and raised her hand to let Josh know to stop. "HEAR THAT?"
Josh listened. "PEOPLE?"
Mya nodded, then put her index finger to her mouth as she slowly crouched down, and sort-of crawled through the trees to be closer to the voices.
"Slowly, slowly, and, throw!" A man said, then a loud thumping sound was heard, followed by squawks.
Mya looked through the trees in shock. There were two men on the beach, who threw a fishing net on a Nene Goose.
"Grab it! Grab it!" One yelled to the other. The other man fumbled to catch the goose, then when he did, the goose flapped its' feathers, making it hard to hold, but he somehow did.
Josh crouched down next to Mya, looking as well. "THEM TWO STEAL BIRD?"
Mya nodded. "LOOK LIKE."
"Hold it still!" The man that wasn't holding the goose said.
"I'm trying, I'm trying!" The other man replied.
The first man reached into a bag that was sitting inside a rowboat that was docked near them, taking out a needle, then jabbing it into the poor bird.
"There." The needle-stabbing man said, watching the bird go limp.
Josh touched Mya's shoulder. "BIRD DEAD?"
Mya closely looked at the bird. She saw the eyes sort-of blink, so she shook her head. It was still alive, just tranquilized.
"Let's go." The first man said, walking to the small rowboat, the other man carrying the goose, dumping it into one side of the boat, then getting in himself. Once the two men were settled, they started rowing.
"We'll come back tomorrow to catch another, right?" The other man said as they shoved off. The first man nodded. "We need a lot of them to fill all our orders."
Mya and Josh looked at each other in shock. "I think we've just witnessed a kidnapping!" Mya exclaimed when they rowed a safe distance away.
