Chapter 11: The Goddess and The Hero Pt. 1

"What was that?"

I didn't want to answer her or that I couldn't. For the first time, I felt afraid. Afraid of whatever is up there. And then we heard a voice that was unnatural.

"Where…are…you…?"

The voice was creepy, scratchy, almost evil. It was something that you would hear in horror movies.

"I…heard…a…voice…? I think…it came…from downstairs…"

We heard a creak from upstairs. Then another and another. The louder the creaks got, the closer it got. We heard it getting closer and closer until…

We saw it with our own eyes.

The thing, whatever it was, was white and was at least 6 feet tall. It's lanky and lacks any meat that we can see it's bones. Its hand and feet were larger than its body. It's face had no eyes, no nose, only a huge smile with a row of sharp teeth. It also has holes on each side of its head.

"Where…are…you…?" It was looking around, trying to find something.

What is that thing? I thought. It looks horrendous. It has no eyes! So they can't see us.

"Uzume…" I whispered as I grabbed her attention. "We need to go now."

"What?! Where?!" She whispered back.

"Away from that!" I pointed directly at it. "We need to get out of now!"

She didn't answer but she complied and as she walked to the front door, the thing turned directly to her.

"I…found…you…!" It then started to run directly at her.

"Uzume hurry!" I yelled out. As I said that, the thing then stopped and turned its direction directly at me.

"I…found…you…!" And then it ran towards me.

Unfortunately for me, I was in a closed space for me to run anywhere.

"It's…time…for…you to die…! It comes a lot closer to me.

I closed my eyes in fear. Is this how I die? Will I never meet friends again? Will Nepgear be devastated when she hears I die?

All of a sudden, I heard a familiar voice.

"Prepare to meet your maker, monster! The one, the only, deadly Justice Kick!"

I then heard a crash and I reopened my eyes to see the person who said that.

The girl standing over the monster was around our age. She has medium length bright dark blue hair and eyes, accompanied by a pair of black goggles with yellow-orange lenses. She wears a black shorts-jumpsuit that is zipped all the way down along with a red scarf tied around her neck and a prinny backpack. She wears gray gloves with white cuffs and black buttons along with matching shoes.

"Wait, you're…Nisa?!" I yelled out.

"So you are her…" She said as she looked back at me. "Lady Neptune!"

"What the…Lady?!" I heard Uzume yell out.

Uzume is going to be really confused…

"Don't worry, citizens!" She exclaimed. "I'll explain in due time, but right now…" She grabbed my hand. "We need to get outside!"

"Wait, hold on…waaaah!" Uzume said until Nisa also grabbed her arm and ran out the door.

Once we were outside, Nisa closed the door behind her and said. "I think we're safe!"

"Nisa, what are you doing here?" I asked her. "I thought you said you were going to save the Underworld."

"Well," She explained while scratching her head. "I did save that world. After I did that, I was about to go back home, I was sent to this world by someone named Lilac."

"Wait, you were sent by her too?!" I said.

She nodded to confirm my suspicions. "So you have been sent here too. "So what happened to Gamindustri after I left."

"Well…"

"Wait, hold on a minute!" Uzume exclaimed. "What the hell are you talking about?! What is this 'Gamindustri'? What did you mean by 'saving' the Underworld? What do you mean by 'this world'?" And she pointed directly at me. "And why did call Nepsy 'Lady'?"

"Huh? You don't know? Well, you probably never heard about it but…" She said in confusion. "She is the CPU goddess of Planeptune."

"Planeptune?" She said in confusion.

"Nisa, why did you have to go and say that." I grumbled at Nisa and then turned to Uzume. "I know it is hard to get but…"

Instead of being shocked, she had this expression like she was trying to remember something. "Planeptune…Planeptune…Why does that sound so familiar?"

Huh? So she heard about it before?

Uzume then shook her head and cried out in frustration. "Argh! This is so confusing."

"I can hear…"

At that moment, my heart just stopped.

"I can hear someone…" We all heard a door creak.

That's impossible! Nisa's kick should at least knock it out!

"Hungry…So…Hungry…"

We both say that thing coming outside our house.

"I think…I should eat you…" It said as it pointed directly at Uzume.

"You two…Run.…" Nisa muttered out.

"What…Nisa? What are you…?"

"I'll hold it off as long as I can!" Nisa whispered back and she yelled out. "Right here you monster!"

The thing then turns its attention directly towards her.

"So you're…the one…that hurt me…?"

"Yeah so!?" She yelled back at it.

"It hurts…" It said. "IT HURTS! IT HURTS! IT HURTS!"

"Nisa, why are you doing this?" I whispered to her.

She then smiled. "Because it's the hero's job to protect others. Plus, I know you can't transform."

"What…? How…?"

"Hehe! I have my ways." She said as turned to the thing. "What are you waiting for? Come and get me!"

It started to run towards her while saying. "IT HURTS! IT HURTS! IT HURTS!"

She tried to dodge it but it was too fast for her. It then grabbed by her leg and held her up to its face.

"I got ya!" It said triumphantly.

And then everything stopped for me. What should I do? I'm afraid! Afraid! I thought. We can't beat this thing.

"Yes, you can!"

What? Is that you, Lily?

"Yes, it is me. I stop time for a little bit" She said calmly. "You can defeat it with what I gave you."

What did you gave me?

"It's a power that I gave to you and others." She explained. "But it can only if you answer this."

What is it? I asked her in my thoughts.

"What are you afraid of?"

What am I afraid of? I repeated the question to myself.

"Please hurry, I can't hold this much longer!"

What am I afraid of? I thought. Of dying? Of leaving Nepgear alone? Then, I realized something. No, it's something else…I'm afraid…I'm afraid…

I'm afraid seeing someone die again!

"Neptune…"

I felt a warmth coursing through me. "I don't want to see someone die again! I don't want to be at fault for someone dying! This time…This time…

Everything moved forward again.

"I'll protect everyone no matter what!" I declared. Then the thing dropped Nisa and ran directly at me.

But it didn't really matter since a pillar of light enveloped me and blew it away and when it faded, I was wearing what I wore when I was in HDD.

"What the…" Uzume spoke up. "Are you…Nepsy?"

"Yes…" I said, my voice was more confident and deeper and pointed my sword directly at it. "I'll show you the power of a goddess."
