Chapter 10: Questions
Age: 755

"Trust me you didn't make me uncomfortable," he said with a smile.

'Holy crap that really happened,' Trunks thought to himself as he leaned back from his kiss.

Chi-Chi just stared at the young saiyan with a smile and let out a small giggle. Trunks's cheeks went red as he blushed, "Well, uh, that was um,".

'That's adorable,' Chi-Chi thought while looking at the lavender-haired teen's expression. The Ox Princess stood up from the bed and began to walk out of the room. "Where are you going?" Trunks asked.

"Oh I'm just going out for a bit don't worry about it," she said. 'Besides you seem pretty shocked I'll let you take it all in,' she commented to herself.

As Chi-Chi left the room Trunks just sat on his bed, 'I just... I just kissed Gohan's mom. What the hell is wrong with me? I'm an idiot,' he lambasted.

He laid back in the bed with his hand on his face. "I can't... I can't form a relationship like that with her. Its not really... my place to do it. How's that fair to the Gohan that could exist here, or even the Goku that's here. He deserves to have a happy relationship with his wife. Kami I'm such a moron," he bemoaned.

'Why Trunks? You could've just backed away, but no you initiated another. What would Gohan say to me know?' Trunks thought to himself.

Trunks began to flee to memories past while trying to take the whole situation in.

The duo stood alone in the empty wasteland, only rocks and the occasion weed accompanied them. The older man stood in front of the young boy, "Alright Trunks, before we start your training I want you to see what you're aiming for," Gohan said with a smile.

"Oh, um alright Gohan," Trunks stammered.

Gohan began to crouch slightly before clenching his fists. He took a deep breath before beginning to scream at the top of his lungs. "HAAAAAAAAA!" he yelled.

The ground beneath the two started to shake, rocks began to float, and a gust of wind began to shoot out from the older saiyan. 'This is insane!' Trunks thought in awe as he looked on.

The sheer force of what he was looking at began to knock Trunks back. The boy grabbed onto a nearby rock to make sure he didn't go flying. Gohan's hair began to glow as it twitched. The fabric in his gi started to flow, the ki around him changed from white to gold, his eyes turned from obsidian to turquoise, and his hair turned from pitch-black to a bright blonde. Gohan started to ease up on his screaming as his he took deep breaths.

Trunks peered from his rock at the golden warrior, and walked towards him. Gohan looked at the boy with a smile, "This Trunks, this is a Super Saiyan,"

"Its...its amazing Gohan," Trunks gasped.

Gohan let out a chuckle, "I thought so too when I saw my father transform on Namek," he admitted.

"I'm going to be able to do that one day?" Trunks asked in shock.

The man kneeled down in front of Trunks, grabbing his shoulder, "Trunks I think that you're going to be able to do even more than I ever did,"

"But how am I going to do that Gohan?" Trunks asked.

Gohan stood up and looked his new student in the eye, "I'm going to teach you,"

Gohan let out another deep breath, his hair and eyes changing back into their natural state, "Let's get started," he said giving that class Son grin.

"HIYAAAAA!" The lavender-haired boy yelled as he tried to strike his teacher.

For each strike he tried to land his teacher just grabbed it with his own hands. "You know you're doing quite a bit better Trunks, you should be proud," Gohan commented.

"WHY ISN'T IT WORKING!" he yelled in frustration.

"You're much faster than before, you're so much stronger than I was after two years of training," he reaffirmed his student.

"WHY. CAN'T. I. HIT. YOU," Trunks continued to shout.

As Trunks went in for another blow all he found was the air around him as the image of Gohan in front of him vanished. "How did he-" Trunks began to say.

Gohan then chopped him in the back of the neck as the boy fell to the ground.

"Its called afterimage, don't worry I'll teach you it soon," The older alien said as he extended his arm.

Trunks grabbed his mentor's hand and let Gohan help him up. "Ow," Trunks said as he grabbed his neck.

"Hehe, I think its time for break," Gohan said.

The two laid down on the ground below and began to try to relax after their sparring.

For awhile the two just laid there, no words were said just the silence of kinship. Eventually Trunks turned to his elder, "Hey, Gohan can I ask you something?"

"Of course Trunks what's the matter?" Gohan asked.

"Do you think... do you think we have a chance?" Trunks stammered out.

Gohan turned back at his pupil; looking down for a moment. 'Does he... does he not know?' Trunks thought to himself staring at his mentor. Once Gohan raised his head to answer his friend, "Well Trunks, yes, yes I do think we have a chance," Gohan answered.

"How can you be so sure about it?" Trunks inquired with a concerned face.

Gohan laid back down, looking up at the sky above, "Trunks, the Earth has been through a lot more than you realize," he said.

"Like what?" Trunks said as he tilted his head.

"The world has been plunged to the brink by demons, aliens, and even other humans. There were always people to stop them," he reassured his student.

"But Gohan its just you now, Goku and the others aren't here anymore!" Trunks countered.

"No Trunks, its us," Gohan corrected.

'What am I going to do against them, I'm just...' Trunks began to demean before Gohan started to speak again.

"Trunks you can do so much more than you think, just you wait, you're going to destroy those androids one day," he said to the other saiyan with a smile.

"What about you Gohan?" Trunks questioned.

For a moment there was a silence the young man viewed the sky above before looking back at the pre-teen awaiting his answer, Gohan revealed his response to him, "You're going to do amazing things Trunks more than I ever could, just you wait,"

'What does he mean... could?' Trunks asked himself, confused at the other's wording.

Age: 780

'Where is he? WHERE IS HE?!' The half-saiyan yelled in his mind.

He ran through the debris of the city. He couldn't see anything besides the ruble, not anything alive at least. The rain poured and poured on Trunks, it felt cold to skin. He kept running, faster and faster trying to find him. His heart continued to beat more rapidly, each beat feeling stronger and deeper. He could hear the beats as he dashed through the city. Until, it felt as if his heart could stop right there, Trunks found him.

He was just laying there in a puddle. Trunks could see his uniform was scratched up, a myriad of cuts, and blood pouring into the puddle beneath him. "Please be okay, please Gohan!" Trunks commanded the fallen warrior.

He ran over to him, and began to lift up his body. 'Please just move your arm a little, do something Gohan! You can't die!' Trunks lamented. Once Trunks lifted him to where he was facing the front of the saiyan Trunks tried to check his heart beat, his pulse, but both times his pleas were ignored. "..No," Trunks whispered to himself upon the realization of what those robots had done.

"No," Trunks repeated.

Trunks began to breathe heavily, he grit his teeth, and clenched his fists. "NOOOOOOOOO! GOHAN!" He yelled at the top of his lungs.

His howls seemed as if they would never end, as his continued to roar into nothingness his own aura began to change colors. It was followed by his hair and his eyes. Trunks had done it. He had become that legendary warrior that his master always wished him to be. He had become the legendary, the only, the mighty Super Saiyan.

Age: 755

Trunks thought about everything Gohan had done for him, 'I'm terrible, I have to make sure Gohan's alive in this world!' He told himself.

The rest of the day Trunks stayed in his room, he did not come out for food, to talk, he just stayed there. As night set in the Ox royals found themselves talking on the matter. "Uhh, Chi-Chi did something happen that boy has cleared all the food we have everyday he's been here," The Ox King questioned.

"Well um, I might know a reason why," Chi-Chi slowly admitted her cheeks blushing.

For a moment the two just sat there staring at one another, "So...you gonna explain what happened?" Her father asked as he looked on awaiting an answer.

"I mean I wasn't really expecting to have to tell you, so..." she said.

The two sat there in a small silence once again, 'This is really awkward what am I supposed to do how do I leave this he's just looking at me?' Chi-Chi asked herself.

"I think I should probably just go now," Chi-Chi said as he tip toed away up the stairs towards Trunks's room.

As she approached it she knocked on the door, "You can come in," the half-saiyan said from the other side.

She saw the young saiyan still laying in the position she left him, "Are you okay Trunks?

"Well... Chi-Chi not really," He admitted.

"What's the matter?" She asked.

"The kiss was a mistake," the blatantly said.

'Goddamnit I thought I was getting somewhere!' Chi-Chi yelled internally. "...Why is that exactly?"

Trunks stared out for a moment, "I just with Gohan..." he began to say before being cut off.

"Trunks, I already told you this he's going to be different," she snapped.

"I understand that, but he's done so much for me and I need to know at least once exists here you know," he admitted.

The two just looked into the other's eyes. 'He's hurt,' Chi-Chi realized. 'She's hurt' Trunks realized himself.

The two let out sighs. "We're certainly in a bind," Chi-Chi stated with a smile.

'Ah she's deflecting,' Trunks thought to himself. "Yea, I guess so," Trunks stammered out.

'Ah he's not saying much because its uncomfortable,' Chi-Chi thought. "Well Trunks, do you like me in that manner?" she asked him.

"I mean yeah I do," he admitted.

"Would your friend want you to be happy?" she asked him.

"Yea, but I'm from the future how is that even supposed to-" he said before Chi-Chi spoke again.

"Trunks the world is still recovering from a green demon trying to take over the world, and you're telling me that robots are going to kill everyone. We do not live in a normal world," Chi-Chi explained.

"I suppose," Trunks slowly said.

"Trunks, look at me," she said as she got closer and moved his head to look at her.

Chi-Chi's eyes had a fragility to them, she was nervous. "Please just give me a chance," she asked him.

'She...Is this...Gohan I know I just said I wouldn't but she just, she's the closest I've ever gotten to someone my own age and she's literally asking, I'm going to hope when I die you won't be mad at me,' Trunks thought to himself.

"Well?" She asked.

Trunks went in and kissed her lips before backing away again to see her reaction. "I'm sorry I know I'm giving mixed signals here and that might not be very good it's just that-" he managed to say.

"Trunks, I get understand. Its a lot for you don't worry," She said with a smile before leaning down and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Trunks smiled back. "Come and get something to eat okay?" She asked him.

"Alright," he said.

The two got up, hands entwined and walked out of the room.
