Myers was still trying to get information out of Pendrick. Higgins had gone back into the building to see if he could find anything else. He knew he probably wouldn't find much else but he didn't want to be outside with Pendrick and Myers.
"Look just give me something Pendrick. They must have told you something about the case." Myers almost pleaded.
"I thought you knew everything." Pendrick shrugged, kicking stones.
"Why did Sam leave like that then?" Myers kept questioning.
Pendrick didn't answer. Myers knew all too well what had happened about Murdoch. He was just kidding around to get more information which James wouldn't tell. Luckily, before Myers could ask anymore questions, or before James hit him again, Higgins came out empty handed.
"Anything?" Pendrick asked.
"Nothing. Looks like the bullet cases are the only thing here." Higgins shook his head.
"Good. Now we can go back to the station." Pendrick said before Myers stayed any longer.
He knew all too well that Myers would find anything they couldn't. Plus if they left Myers there alone, Sam would never trust them again. Myers knew that he would have to go back with them but was going to try everything to stay.
"You two carry on. I'll join you a bit later." Myers tried.
"And we're not leaving you here alone." Pendrick smiled.
Myers crossed his arms. Pendrick looked over to Higgins. Higgins soon caught on and smiled at Myers.
"Come on Myers, we can tell you everything if we go back." Higgins said.
"No you won't. You'll just stand and giggle like a bunch of school girls." Myers sneered.
Higgins really felt like punching Myers right now and Pendrick wasn't too far behind.
"Want to get another black eye Myers?" Pendrick warned.
Myers backed off and stayed quiet. Two black eyes on one secret agent was a good look. Even though Myers seemed to have a knack at getting injuries. He nodded slowly as they all made their way back to the station house.

Julia made her way to the hospital. She knew Sam had stayed out all night and could not wait to have a go at her when she came back home later that day. She threw her coat across the room. She really couldn't deal with Sam's attitude right now. She was always off the rails, why couldn't she be like her father?!
"You look annoyed." A nurse said as she came into the room.
"Wouldn't you be if your daughter didn't listen to you?!" Julia moaned.
"Sam getting up to her old tricks then?" The nurse smiled.
"You'd think she'd grown out of it by now!"
The nurse thought it might be better to leave Julia alone for now. She didn't seem in a mood to work and it wasn't going to get any better by talking about it. Julia saw the nurse wanting to leave. She quickly moped her brow and then put on a smile.
"Sorry it's just all getting to me." Julia apologised.
The nurse patted Julia on the back and then showed her to her first patient of the day. Julia knew this might make her feel a bit better. She always liked treating people and it was the best thing she could do before Murdoch got out.

Crabtree stood outside Murdoch's room. He thought that Murdoch might need protecting just in case someone came back and finished the job. They would have to go through Crabtree first. True Sam would probably have something to say about that! She seemed to like spending time with him nowadays when she wasn't late.
"Is he your friend?" A kind nurse asked.
"Boss. Well one of them." Crabtree answered.
"How's the case going?" The nurse was probing a little too far.
"I don't think I can answer that question." Crabtree chuckled.
"Oh sorry. I'll leave you be." The nurse left.
Crabtree hadn't meant that but he couldn't tell anyone anything until they had permission to give the case to the press. He then looked back at the room. Sam hadn't really left the door yet. He couldn't blame her, seeing Murdoch in that state wasn't good for anyone.
"I'm sorry to interrupt sir but there's a call for you." Another nurse interrupted his peace.
Crabtree wanted to protest but no one would ring unless absolutely necessary. He walked to where the phone was kept and picked up the phone to see who it was.
"George Crabtree." Crabtree said into the phone.
"George, it's Higgins." Higgins' voice came back.
"What is it Higgins? We're a bit busy at the moment." Crabtree sighed, rubbing his forehead with his hand.
"It's Myers. He won't leave us alone."
"Well if he's useful in the case, we can't really do anything about it."
"I know but can't we stop him from asking us question after question?"
"It's what agents do. He'll stop when you ask him to."
"How many times do we have to tell him?" Higgins chuckled.
Crabtree also chuckled. Myers could talk himself to very tight corners sometimes and right now it wasn't a good time to do it.
"How's the detective?" Higgins sounded a bit more serious.
"He's woken up. Well I think he has, haven't gone in there yet." Crabtree told Higgins worried.
"Sam with him?"
"Yeah. She looks a little shell shocked."
"I'm not surprised! How long until you get back?"
"Not long. Sam wants to get on with the case, she said it about a million times in the carriage on the way here."
"Right. Well I'll try and keep Pendrick and Myers from killing each other until you get back. At least I'll have some support then."
"They're not that bad Henry!"
"You don't have to deal with them!"
"Alright. See you later." Crabtree put the phone down.
He sighed as he leant up against the wall. Since the station had started this case he hadn't really gotten any sleep. He was now exhausted! If he told Sam then she would just send him home being the most senior. If he told Higgins then he would just make fun of him or trying to get home time as well. He just wished the case would be over soon and they all could finally get some rest.

Sam was still standing at the door. She hadn't expected to see her dad ever in hospital, especially not like this. She finally found the courage to go over to the bed. She sat down near the window.
"Dad?" Sam asked quietly.
Murdoch took a deep breath in. He then turned to see his daughter sitting next to him.
"Sam." He said in a croaky voice.
"How are you feeling?" Sam asked shakily.
"Like I've been shot." Murdoch jokes, trying not to laugh as it made him feel really bad when he did.
"Well I know that!" Sam rolled her eyes.
"How's the case going?"
"We haven't really started it yet. I thought you would like to know that Myers has got involved." Sam tutted.
"Terrenance Myers! I would have known he would get involved!" Murdoch shook his head.
"Apparently he knows something about the case. We don't believe him of course but until we know completely we're keeping him on."
"Don't let him take over the case. You know what he's like." Murdoch chuckled.
Murdoch's eyes were faintly closing. Sam could tell he needed rest if he was going to be out of here soon.
"I should go. The case won't solve itself." Sam gathered her things.
"Alright. Keep me informed." Murdoch nodded slightly.
Sam smiled and kissed Murdoch on the forehead. She then waved goodbye and left the room expecting to find George outside. Murdoch laid back in his bed. He hated hospitals and hated even more so when there was a big case going on.

When Sam arrived outside of the room, she couldn't find George anywhere. She looked up and down the corridor. Where could he have gone?
"George?" Sam called.
Before she could go further, Crabtree rounded one of the corners. He was looking his usual self. She brushed off what had just happened as he walked towards her.
"Ready to be asked more questions by Myers?" Sam rolled her eyes.
"No but I'll deal with it." Crabtree said.
Sam punched Crabtree on the arm and then left for the station house again. Both of them knew Myers wouldn't be too happy to know they had been gone for so long but he would just have to deal with it. They needed times to themselves as well!
