Days passed since both teens admitted their feelings to each other and they couldn't have been happier. Five was more determined to figure out how to get him and Amber out of the apocalypse so they could not only stop it, but he a couple properly. He started to jot things down in his sister's autobiography since he's pretty much had the whole book memorized. The formula was a mess but at least it was a start. Amber on the other hand, was trying to figure out what they could do for a date that wasn't just eating together and just going right into consummating their love. Though they both felt the urge to do so, they had to admit they wanted to be a little classier in the end of the world.

Amber woke up and saw Five scribbling in a book and glancing at something in his other hand. She raised an eyebrow at him and went to sit beside him. The fire was low so she kicked it again with her powers, causing her to smile ever so slightly. She glanced over at Five's hand and was creeped out at what she saw.

"That's not a real eye is it?" Amber questioned.

Five snapped out his thoughts and glanced over to her. He hadn't shown her this eye before since...well when would be a good time to just show gruesome remains of the guy that triggers the end of the world.

"No, it's a prosthetic eye. My brother Luther had this in his hand when I found his body. Finding this guy when we return to 2019 will be the key in preventing all of this."

Amber nodded and she rested her head on his shoulder as he continued to work on his formula. She glanced over at it and her mind only swirled with confusion. Five noticed Amber's puzzlement and he chuckled.

"I know, it seems like nonsense to me as well but I think it is a start for us time traveling back." Five expressed.

Amber didn't want to show her possible excitement since she knew that it could still take some time before they had a concrete way back home. Still she pecked his cheek to show that she was pleased with what Five was doing. He grinned at her and decided to put the eye in his pocket and to close his book. A soft smile appeared on his face as he put his arm around her.

"Who would have thought I would find love in this shit hole of a world? Then again, it became less of one when you came into my life." Five sweet-talked.

Amber laughed softly and replied,

"J'adore quand tu me parles gentiment."

Five adored when Amber spoke French to him since her words sounded more romantic when she did. He loved sweet talking to her since she made his life worth living. He kissed her lips softly and Amber responded with her own kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck. When they pulled away Five couldn't help but grin.

"I'm always going to love the way that feels."

"If you love a kiss, I wonder how you'd be when we share a bed in a more intimate way." Amber mused.

Five's eyes widened slightly since he didn't think they would be at that stage yet. Amber noticed Five's shock and she chuckled.

"We sort of did things out of order anyway if we are technical but I do agree, we need a date first and foremost before we consummate our love and passions." Amber expressed.

Right and it needed to be more than the usual looting for food and eating together. He thought for a moment and he realized that a lot that they could do was pretty much up in flames or under some rubble. Five sighed and rubbed the back of his head.

"What's wrong mon couer? Amber asked.

My heart, the nickname she had given him and it only made his heart melt even more. What could they do that would be fun but also be different than the standard fare they do. He glanced at the surroundings and his mind began thinking up an idea.

"Do you mind waiting for our date? I need to set a lot of things up for it." Five told her.

Amber's curiosity peaked as Five got up from the ground and started blipping across the abandoned town, gathering a lot of what seemed to be random items. She was lost on what their date could be until he placed two decent enough golf clubs and two golf balls near Amber.

"Mini golf Five? You're a mad man making a course for us to play." Amber told him sweetly.

Five chuckled and he looked to her as he examined the space they had to work with,

"Yes, well I am mad, mad about you and that we should have something special for our first date. Now sit back and relax as I work my magic." Five told her.

He went to work making mini golf holes for them. Amber wondered where he went to find these clubs and balls as he watched Five working on making 9 holes for them to play. It took him a lot of time to clean up the rubble, make some holes themselves, and he even found some little odds and ends like damaged stuffed animals and pipes to serve as either obstacles or part of the game. Amber felt touched as Five was putting this all together for them. There was no way in this apocalypse Amber thought she could feel like a normal woman in a relationship, but Five was busting his butt to make something essentially out of nothing.

"You sure you don't need me to help Five? You're doing an awful lot of work." Amber asked.

Five turned to her as he finished up making the fourth hole in their game. So far, he made a simple straight hole with just putting to the hole, one where they had to get past some stuffed animals, one where they had to get past a lot of potholes to get to the main hole, and one where if either of them decided, can put through a pipe for a short cut. He glanced at the holes he had made and let out a sigh.

"Am I being ridiculous Amber?"

Amber went up to him and embraced him, wrapping her arms around his neck. She pecked his lips softly and shook her head.

"What's ridiculous about a man wanting to please his woman by preparing a date for them. Most men wouldn't even try but here you are. Maybe while you get the date ready, I can try getting a bed ready and our night if you know what I mean." Amber grinned.

Five chuckled and stroked Amber's face. Everything he was doing was for her and she was trying hard to please him too. Both had been with each other traveling for three years and they have built up some sexual tension in those three years. They desired the other and hence why he wanted to make sure Amber got a somewhat normal date once in a while.

"Don't stray too far though."

"You worry about me?"

"I'm always going to worry about you. Powers and combat aside, I still worry if we're apart for too long. Who knows if we are..."

Amber stopped him with a kiss since this hadn't been the first time Five was being paranoid. Sure, she wasn't any better with her setting up fire tigers and lions sometimes to guard them as they slept, but if they would have met anyone, they would have by now. Since they hadn't, they truly confirmed for themselves that they were the last two humans on this earth. Five kissed back and soon pulled away grinning.

"Was that your way of telling me to shut up?"

"Oui mon amour." Amber chuckled.

Five scoffed but Amber kissed him once more.

"Now you get our date ready and I will see what I can do in terms of sleeping quarters tonight." Amber remarked.

Amber didn't stray too far to find a destroyed apartment complex with a selection of mattresses to sleep on. She picked the one with the least amount of damages and burns so they would have a nice time. Then she went to her wagon and took out something she had saved on one of her looting sprees, silk sheets. She couldn't believe it when she had found these almost perfect red silk sheets in a wrecked store a year or so ago and she clung on to them in case they were ever needed for a special night. Tonight, would be that night as she made up the mattress with the sheets. She robbed pillows from the complex as well and set them on the mattress as well. In due time she would set up tiny embers around the bed to serve as candles for their night.

Smiling, she returned to Five who seemed to be nearly done with the golf course for them both. It wouldn't be much if the world wasn't in a hell scape but it was simply a marvel in the current circumstance. Five felt a pair of eyes on him and sure enough Amber was staring softly at his work. She grabbed their golf clubs and balls so they could start their romantic date together.

"Now I will warn you, I'm not a good golfer." Amber told him.

"Yeah but I'm not much better. Do you honestly see Reginald Hargreaves as a family man who took us mini golfing? We were lucky if he gave us ice cream after a mission let alone did any family trips or games."

Amber nodded as Five took to the first 'hole' which was a simple put to a hole. He sunk it in one shot and he shot a grin at Amber. She rolled her eyes as she placed her ball next but was having trouble with her stance. Five went behind her and helped her to swing the putter. She could tell this was a sweet yet romantic plot for Five for him to brush against her, but she took it in stride as he helped her to get a hole in one as well.

"Tie game." Five grinned.

"Thanks for that although I thought you would want to win at any cost." Amber chuckled.

"I thought I was."

Amber and him chuckled as they made their way to the pipe hole. Five hit the ball through the pipe and got another hole in one. Meanwhile Amber got it in two after her ball got stuck in the pipe. She didn't care much if she won or lost, but more so that they had this day together. Five's mini golf course was very interestingly creative. How he got it so fast...no wait he used his spatial jumps to cut on time she thought.

The holes got a bit more complex as the game went on. Five even made a windmill out of some cardboard boxes, got some rocks to block the hole, and even made a contraption for the balls to go down into the hole over a ledge. Amber made a note to herself that next time they did golfing she can add some fire to make it visually stunning. They got up to the last hole and both sank their shots, Five ended up winning the game by two strokes. Five didn't gloat since it would be in poor taste to do so in front of his date. Amber smiled since she loved the day they had together.

After the golf game, Amber and Five got dressed up to have dinner as part of their first date. Five wore the navy suit and Amber wore the red dress. Before they had dinner, Amber smiled softly and took his hand in his.

"You know what I would like before we have dinner." Amber asked.

Five raised his eyebrow and replied,

"Isn't it early for that?"

Amber chuckled since Five's mind was already in the gutter. She shook her head and got him to raise one of his hands up with hers and to wrap the other one behind her waist. Five chuckled and understood what Amber wanted. They soon danced together and both of their motions just flowed together nicely. Amber always liked Five's moves but now that they were a couple, the movements felt so much more passionate and fuller of life. Five at times would twirl her and dip her just so Amber could smile softly at him with her eyes. They danced until they noticed the sun was setting above them and watched the sunset together. She looked to Five and asked,

"Is it just me or is this sunset even prettier than the ones we were able to see?"

Five stroked her hand and nodded in agreement.

"Huh you know, I think it does look prettier. Maybe it's because we had a lovely day and the sun wants to follow suit."

"You can be pretty cheesy at times Five." she giggled.

"Yes, well I am able to be that way without judgement since I know you love all parts of me." Five romantically stated.

When they had dinner, Amber noticed that the selection this evening was a bit more elaborate and not so bare bones. Amber guessed Five wanted to spoil them this evening and he didn't fail to disappoint. They had canned chicken, some canned peas and carrots, canned potatoes, and canned string beans. For dessert Amber had found some stale marshmallows and melted some chocolate cookies to cover them in order to try making them chocolate covered. They weren't the prettiest looking things, but they still tasted good from what Amber sampled before serving them to Five. She smiled sweetly to him when dessert time came and she took Five's hands in hers.

"I'm glad we did this today. Having dates almost makes this whole end of the world thing feel normal."

Five smiled as he took a marshmallow and looked over it. Amber had spent time making these for them and all for a sweet evening together. Slowly, they each fed each other the marshmallows and the feelings of arousal they had for each other only grew with each passing marshmallow. There was one left and Amber smiled softly.

"The victor gets the spoils mon coeur."

Five shook his head and offered the marshmallow to her.

"You're the bigger sweet fan darling."

Amber shook her head and grabbed the marshmallow. She slowly fed it to Five, tracing his mouth with the marshmallow until he let out a moan.

"You were saying Five?" Amber giggled as she fed Five the last marshmallow.

"I must say, you were right. That marshmallow did taste very good. Its too bad dessert is over."

"Maybe that part is, but there is another dessert course." Amber smirked.

She took Five's hand and led him to what she had set up as part of their date. Five was stunned at what he saw but soon his surprise turned into a warm grin. There were light little flames serving like candles under the night sky. There was an old mattress covered in ragged silk sheets and plenty of pillows for them both. Amber made her way to the bed first to get herself cozy before welcoming Five. He got onto the bed with her and started to make out with her. Soon clothes were shed between the two and they made love to one another on the mattress.

Once the act was done Amber and Five cuddled on the mattress. He stroked her hair with his fingers while Amber kissed his chest, her eyes soft and filled with love for the man she was with.

"T-That was amazing." Amber expressed.

"I feel very stimulated and yet very much at peace." Five responded.

Amber smiled and rested her head on his chest, to listen to his racing yet calm heartbeats. She looked up at him longingly and nuzzled his neck. Amber held him close to her under the cover of the silk sheets.

"Never leave me behind." Amber whispered.

"I swear and promise to always take you wherever our path goes. You are my heart Amber, my fire, my burning desire." Five proclaimed to her.

Amber smiled softly as she cuddled more.

"Do we have to return to Dolores?" Amber asked.

It was then Five remembered he left Dolores in the wagon all day and would be pissed at them both for treating her like a third wheel today. Both Amber and Five were too dazed to leave the bed to bring the wagon closer to the mattress.

"In the morning. Right now, I don't want to leave this mattress with you." Five told her.

Amber smiled and kissed his cheek.

"I love you Five."

"I love you too Amber."

As both of them settled in the night, they couldn't help but feel different in the best way. Five truly felt like a man being able to please Amber in all aspects now. Sex didn't seem primitive or not needed once he experienced it with a woman who truly loved him. Meanwhile Amber felt strong and confident in herself and felt like she gained something even though she gave up her virginity to the only man on this earth now. The fire in her only seemed to grow even hotter and it was a very powerful feeling for her. This couple had a taste of the passionate fruits of their love and it was one they would indulge in whenever they could go forward. They were now one and being apart was never going to fly with them.
