Vale, day
Mercury and Emerald were walking to Tuckson's for an extermination job. They didn't know why Cinder hadn't already done this. They also didn't know that they were being watched, by someone with glowing green eyes.
After entering, Mercury closed the blinds and browsed the store. From under the door came a smoke that bundled in the corner, away from sight.
After an annoying back-and-forth, Tuckson jumped on top of his counter with his claws coming out. He never stood a chance. After getting shot in the head, he fell onto the floor.
But he never died.
He was shot in the head, yes. But there was no wound, the bullet just bounced off. The impact knocked out the ex-White Fang member.
His savior made himself known soon after Mercury and Emerald noticed that he was still alive. A figure came out of the smoke.
It was a boy, around the same age as Dominic, with green eyes that shone through the store.
Beacon librarby
Dominic was looking through history books. The fact that he wasn't native to Remnant made it more important for him to do this. Here's what he learned so far.
Humans are terrible. Just like Earth. They sent the faunus race to a place that was literally called Menagerie, a word that here means "animal cage".
There's apparently a Grimm dragon known as a Wyvern. It had the ability to spawn lesser Grimm by creating something called a Grimm Pool. There's also a Grimm of titanic proportions called a Leviathan. But even then, would they all stand a chance against him?
Semblances reflected your personality. Yang had a short temper, her semblance gave her increased strength while angry. Dominic's semblance allowed him to separate from himself, he had an odd childhood.
And finally, there was a legend involving two brothers. One of light. One of dark. Kinda like his relationship with his own brother. Speaking of...
They were currently playing a physical version of Mario Party. Gregory won. Actually this was better, Gregory was an insanely sore loser.
Dominic walked away to find a blue-haired idiot hitting on Weiss. After a hilarious exchange, he saw Blake walking back to her dorm. It reminded him of what happened after the Vol. 1 finale.
FLASHBACK
Dominic and Blake were sitting behind a desk, awaiting interrogation. Ozpin came in, just like last time.
"Well, this has certainly been an eventful evening. I'm sure that after a night of thwarting attempted robbery you two just want to take a nap. But, I was hoping that maybe we could have a chance to talk."
"Of course." Blake said.
"Certainly." Dominic said, dipping into a bit of fancy talk.
"Wonderful. As you both know, to enroll in my school students must first pass a rigorous entrance exam. Most applicants spend years training at one of the many combat schools around the world. You two did not. And you both passed the exam with flying colors."
"I was raised outside the kingdoms. If you can't fight, you can't survive." Blake explained.
"I was trained by a man more powerful than anyone i've ever met. Without him, i'd be nothing." Dominic said. He was referring to his time at the Academy with Eon.
"Well I can tell that you have survived indeed, Blake. I admire both of your drives. And I am proud to run a school that accepts individuals from all walks of life. Rich, poor, human, faunus, otherwise."
That last part got Dominic's attention. He WAS human, but he wasn't ALL human. But did Ozpin know that?
"Why do you hide what you are, Dominic?" Ozpin asked after taking a sip from his mug. Blake thought that Dominic was human, he didn't have any faunus traits at all.
"I have bad experience with people who know what I am. Why do you think only one of my eyes glow?" Dominic said, glowing his eye as an example. He didn't want to remember what happened all those years ago.
END FLASHBACK
Dominic shivered at the thought of the event. He mistakenly bumped into someone. She had black hair and yellow eyes. "Good god, you're hot." he said.
"Thanks, but I think i'm too old for you." she said to him.
"I never said you were attractive." he said.
Dominic's dorm, day
A package came for Dominic, it contained several sphere-shaped devices. The stamp had a picture of a golden crest.
