"This is pretty creepy," Zoro commented as he stood on deck with the rest of the crew, looking out at the thick fog. Luffy nodded in agreement. She had put on a gas mask until Robin told her it was just fog. "So, we're in that Florian Triangle now?"
Robin nodded. "It appears so." Chopper, Usopp and Nami screamed in fear. They'd gotten the information from the last island.
"don't worry, I'll protect you," Luffy said to Chopper. "I'm strong." Chopper smiled, but still looked scared. Luffy climbed onto Zoro's back and up his shoulders to sit on them, watching out at the fog in case anything appeared.
"If there's nothing to see, this is going to get boring real quick," Sanji commented, taking a drag of his cigarette. "I'm going inside to make some deserts for the ladies." Franky was working on something in the middle of the grassy deck, not worried about any scary things jumping out of the fog. Luffy tapped Zoro's head and pointed in Franky's direction. He got the hint and walked nearer to Franky.
What are you doing?
Franky had looked when they came near, and held up some blueprints of something that looked like a chair. "Thought of something that would be fun. A little cart that rides around the railing. We'll be in the fog for a while, why not make the best use of the time?" he explained. Chopper ran over at hearing this, and both of the smallest on the crew looked interested. Luffy jumped down from Zoro's shoulders.
Do you need me to make anything? Franky grinned.
"Your powers are really convenient, you know that?" Franky replied. "I could use some quality nails." Luffy nodded and held her hands over the deck, dozens of nails falling from them and landing on the grass in a little pile. Zoro went to sit at the railing, but stayed awake in case anything came out of the fog. He was confident Luffy could take care of it, but he'd stay awake anyways.
He listened to Franky and Chopper talk and reply to Luffy's silent words. Luffy helped Franky work, and he was glad he now had endless resources. Just like Nami was very happy about money. Luffy was never offended by them liking her powers. She liked them, too, and they were very convenient. None of them were using her for it, they were friends.
Sanji came out with some milkshakes for the ladies, and Luffy was surprised to see Sanji had put two straws in her drink. He didn't even seem to notice, but Luffy smiled at him. "What?" he asked curiously. She pointed to the two straws. He looked embarrassed. "Well, you're not gonna stop sharing even if I asked you to. Why make you do an extra trip to get a second straw? Whether you like it or not, you're still a lady." Luffy smiled and wandered over to Zoro while Sanji delivered the other two girls their drinks.
He put in two straws for us, Luffy pointed out. That was nice of him.
"He finally got it through his thick skull that you're not gonna stop sharing," Zoro commented, and took a sip of the drink. Even around Luffy, he made sure to never say Sanji's food was good, even though it was. Luffy didn't scold him for being rude, Sanji wasn't around and she'd given up on stopping them.
She was sitting in his lap drinking the chocolate drink when she heard a creepy noise. Zoro heard it too, and both of them stood up. "What's that noise?" he wondered. Luffy shrugged, and then ran to the side of the ship when she knew which direction it was coming from. It was getting closer, and Usopp and Chopper were shaking in fear. Nami was standing behind Sanji, who looked more than overjoyed to be "protecting Nami-san".
Franky lifted his sunglasses when the huge ship came into view. Chopper screamed at how creepy it was, looking incredibly old and broken down. Luffy grinned, and formed a harpoon, waving Zoro over, and making him hold it before she attached an anchor to the end. Zoro threw the harpoon and soon the ghost ship was unable to sail away.
"Why would you do that?!" Usopp screamed. Luffy held up a big sign that read ADVENTURE! "Not adventure! There are ghosts, they're gonna kill us!" the sharpshooter argued angrily. "Can't you hear that creepy singing?!" Luffy shrugged.
No one was surprised when they threw a rope ladder and attached it to the ghost ship. "I guess we're exploring it," Zoro said casually. Usopp shouted that he was whipped and to stop her. "You think I can stop her? She knocked me out with my own sword. Stopping her is impossible," he said and followed Luffy across the rope ladder.
Sanji soon followed afterwards, unable to help but not go as well. Luffy made a flashlight and ran around, looking for the source of the sound. It was still going, and she peeked around the corner of the cabin to see a skeleton singing. She just stared for a moment, before turning around and looking confused. Was this real?
She ran back to the two men, and wrote, I think I'm hallucinating.
"What? Why?" Zoro asked.
There's a living skeleton over there, Luffy said, and pointed to where she'd come from. Sanji and Zoro hurried over, Luffy running to keep up. They all peeked around the corner. "You're not hallucinating," Sanji said quietly.
"Good morning!" the skeleton shouted suddenly, making the monster trio all jump, thinking it didn't know they were there. "Well, if it is morning, yohohoho!" They all stared at him for a minute straight. It was awkward, but the three still weren't processing that a skeleton was talking to them.
They assumed he looked at Luffy, since he didn't have any eyes to show them which direction he was looking at. "Hello," he said in a sweet voice. Luffy's face turned sour when she knew he was thinking she was a little girl. "Why is a child out on the Grand-" Luffy kicked him in the face.
"She's not a kid!" Zoro and Sanji shouted angrily. Zoro hated when she was called a kid for obvious reasons, and Sanji hated it too, unable to handle hearing that Zoro had sex with a little girl. He hated the mosshead, but would never think he'd do something so abhorrent.
"Yohohoho! What a strong little girl!" the skeleton shouted, clearly not getting the message. Luffy was convinced he was an idiot. She kicked him again, in the leg this time. I'm not a child! she wrote angrily.
She hurried back to Zoro, looking irate. They all were. "How are you alive?" Sanji finally asked once the silence got pretty awkward. The skeleton laughed loudly. It was too loud in the otherwise quiet sea. The fog was still around them, but they could see one another on the deck of the brkoen ship. The ghost ship.
"I ate the revive-revive fruit! I'm a revived man!" the skeleton replied. "Oh, my apologies, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Brook, a musician and swordsman." Immediately, Luffy and Zoro grinned. A potential opponent. Zoro touched his sword and Luffy shifted her arm into a blade.
Wanna fight?
Brook looked confused. "Fight? Why?"
Because it's fun.
"Why don't we have dinner first?" he asked. Sanji shouted that he didn't get to decide what they were eating. Zoro commented that Brook had said it was morning before. Luffy was just watching with a blank face.
"Besides, we're not the captain of our ship, we can't decide whether you come or not," Sanji said, lighting a cigarette. Luffy wandered inside, ignoring the conversations outside and wanting to explore.
The inside was dusty and dark, but she was able to see with her flashlight. It was pretty empty, and sad. There were many bedrooms, but were empty and devoid of anything that would make it look like anyone had lived there.
The kitchen was bare, no food or drink. She wondered where everyone was. Well, the skeleton was old, clearly, so they were probably all dead. The nymph felt bad for him. The ship was boring on the inside, nothing like the Sunny or Merry. She didn't like it, and made her way back outside. There wasn't even any treasure. It was a short adventure, but she saw something new. A talking skeleton.
She wondered what Ace would do if he met Brook. She went back outside to see Zoro waiting against the cabin for her to come out while Brook and Sanji were talking. There was nothing in there. No treasure, either.
"You can just make your own treasure," Zoro said. It's no fun that way. He grinned. Brook watched Luffy curiously, probably wondering what she was, why she wrote things down and wondering why they said she wasn't a child.
She looked at him. "Miss, do you mind if I ask how old you are?" Luffy saw no disrespect, and wrote 17. He looked at her curiously. "Usually, I'd ask to see your panties, but I don't want to appear as a pedophile," the skeleton said bluntly. All three pirates watched him in shock before Sanji and Zoro started trying to beat him up.
"You prevert!"
"Don't talk to Luffy like that!"
"Creep!"
"Yohohoho!"
Luffy watched with a blank look, shaking her head and walking back to the side of the ship. Since they wouldn't be able to see a message from there, she wrote the situation down on a piece of paper and tucked it inside a ball to throw to those on the Thousand Sunny.
Usopp and Chopper screamed, while Franky and Robin looked interested. The two men walked up next to Luffy, and Brook followed. The three really thought this guy was weird, and not just because he was a living skeleton.
Luffy walked along the ladder gracefully, not needing to use her arms. She jumped down onto the grassy deck. This guy is weird, she wrote. Robin asked Brook if he wanted some tea.
"No, Robin!" Usopp, Chopper and Nami shouted. The captain turned to them. "Don't worry, if he does anything suspicious, we have those three to take care of him," she said and pointed to Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. Zoro and Sanji jumped down on deck.
"Really, Robin-chan?" Sanji asked.
The woman smiled. "Might be interesting," she said. Franky watched Brook skeptically, but set his sunglasses back into place. Luffy went to Zoro and climbed up his back, watching Brook with a strange look. When the skeleton turned to Nami, who was looking frightened, Luffy acted.
"Excuse me miss, could I see your-" and he was on the grassy deck, Luffy having thrown a fifty pound weight at his head. "Yohohoho, she sure is rough!"
"Don't you talk to Nami-san or Robin-chan like a creep or we'll throw you off the ship!" Sanji roared. Luffy rubbed her face in Zoro's neck. She kissed his ear, and he shuddered. "Not now!" Sanji yelled at them.
"We weren't doing anything!" Zoro shot back. Luffy sighed, and shook her head.
"My, this is quite the ship you have," Brook said as he looked around him and at the grass.
"YOW! It's super cause I built it!" Franky immediately shouted. Brook praised him about it, and the shipwright drank up the praise. Nami, Usopp and Chopper weren't happy about him being on the ship, and stood by the railing that wasn't near the ghost ship.
Zoro walked with Luffy to the mast and sat down. "What a strange guy," Zoro said. Luffy nodded in agreement. Do you think he eats?
"Well, he asked about dinner, so probably." But he doesn't have any organs, she pointed out. "Devil fruits are weird like that. A lot of them aren't like Ace's. We found some weird ones. Back at Alabasta, there was one guy who could control wax, someone who could change her weight and use it as a weapon, a man who could impersonate anyone, a lady who could turn her body into spikes, and the guy I fought whose whole body was a blade," Zoro explained. Luffy wished she'd come sooner.
"I'm sure Vivi would have liked you," Zoro added. "She was a worrywart though. Constantly worried, but it was to be expected. Her country was on the brink of war."
I wish I had come sooner, Luffy wrote sadly. Zoro kissed her head. "You're here now, and it's not like we're gonna stop having adventures." Luffy nodded, and leaned against Zoro as they both watched the weird skeleton get along with Franky. Luffy was surprised Brook hadn't said anything of the powers she showed. Usually, people were really curious about it. It was a bit different. Then, she wondered if he had a brain. How did he talk if he had no voice box, like Luffy didn't? Did he go to the bathroom? She was so curious!
"Were we having tea or not?" Sanji asked, coming out from the kitchen. He sounded cranky, and Luffy had a feeling he really didn't like Brook.
"Funny that love cook called Brook a pervert when he's the real perv," Zoro said casually. Luffy grinned and, only so he could see it, wrote, Says the guy who wants to make love in every room on the ship.
Zoro grinned right back, not looking bothered in the least. He was telling the truth when he said that. Knowing he'd done it with her and no one else did sounded so good. On the counter top of the kitchen... They'd already taken their room, the bathhouse and crowsnest. "We're well on our way. Three rooms down." Luffy blushed, and he chuckled.
No sex in the kitchen, Luffy wrote, before getting up. "Hey, that's the one I want the most," Zoro complained. Luffy turned around and shook her head. It may sound good, but Chopper would know and no one would be happy if they knew. They'd probably be mad, and Luffy didn't want another episode where someone got mad about her and Zoro making love. Though it would be a lot worse this time. The crowsnest and bathhouse were good enough.
The three who were afraid didn't go into the galley with Brook and the rest. "You wanna stay out in the fog by yourself?" Zoro asked. They immediately changed their minds and ran into the galley, following the strong crew members. After all, all of the fighters had gone inside. Even Franky and Robin were strong and could hold their own.
When they all sat down, Luffy sitting in Zoro's lap on his chair, Chopper sitting in Luffy's usual seat. There were two seats at the table that were higher than the others for Chopper and Luffy to be at the same height at the table during dinner. Luffy still prefered Zoro's lap, but the seat was nice. Franky was considerate about that part.
How do you work? Luffy asked Brook.
"I'm not sure, miss," Brook said and laughed. "I can eat but have no organs. I'm all bones! It's a mystery, but I am glad I get to enjoy food even in this form. Food is one of the best things in life."
You'll like Sanji's food.
"Probably not. Love-cook's food sucks," Zoro couldn't help but say. It was automatic. Luffy made no comment, knowing there really was no point. Of course, Sanji shot back. Everyone ignored their arguing.
"How old are you?" Robin asked curiously, sipping her own tea. "How long have you been in this fog?"
Brook put his finger to his chin in thought. They all watched him move, and Luffy really wondered how he moved if he had no joints or muscle connecting the bones. How did he see with no eyes? She wanted answers, "I'm not sure" wasn't good enough!
"I'm ninety years old, and I've been stuck in the fog for fifty years. My soul wandered around for a year, lost and unable to find my body, which is why I am all bones! Yohohoho!"
"May I say you look good for your age," Robin said pleasantly. Luffy laughed silently, and Brook found it funny, too.
"It's so nice being around living people!" Brook shouted happily. Luffy smiled, feeling bad for him. "The rudder to my crew's ship is broken, so I've had no way to get out of this fog." Franky offered to fix it for him, Luffy adding that she could help, too. "That is very kind of you," Brook replied sincerely. Then he looked at Luffy. They could tell, even if he didn't have eyes.
"May I ask about you, miss?" Brook asked politely.
I'm Luffy. She looked to Zoro, who explained about her being a nymph and her powers and why she was unable to speak.
"My, that's a very convenient power! Though, to be honest some are quite frightening. And you and Zoro-san are a couple?" Luffy nodded. "Though you are different species?" Everyone glared at him, but Luffy knew he didn't mean to be mean. She just nodded.
The only difference is that I can't talk and have powers. It's not like I'm an alien.
"I meant no disrespect," he said with a bow, clearly noticing the hostile looks he was being given.
Nami, Chopper and Usopp were a bit more comfortable, though they weren't sitting next to Brook. The others got over their shock, though, and were conversing normally with the skeleton. Luffy was proud that the crew, most of them, weren't really scared about anything. Brook was an interesting guy, though he was pretty loud and Sanji eventually told him to tone down the volume.
"So the Florian Triangle is big enough to be lost in for 50 years?" Franky asked, not drinking tea and instead cola.
"It is because my rudder is broken, so sometimes the ship will go in circles depending on the current. Oh, I will be so happy to be able to leave this place! I can't thank you enough for offering to repair my ship's rudder," Brook said, sincerely grateful. "You are all such kind people! My eyes couldn't believe it when I saw people willingly approaching me, not that I have eyes. Yohohoho!"
Won't you be lonely? Luffy wondered.
Brook smiled. "I am used to it. I am just happy to leave the fog. Though the world will be shocked to see me! I haven't seen anyone after waking up like this." Luffy felt sad for him, not being able to imagine being alone for so long. She fed off of the company of others. Especially Zoro. She put her hand over his on the table, entwining her small fingers in between his. No one noticed it but Zoro, and he rested his chin on her head.
Maybe you can make new friends.
"I sure hope so!" Brook replied. He talked to them for a while, and had dinner with him. Luffy was so confused with how food would enter through his mouth but nothing could come out. She just stared at him for a while.
"I don't think you'll ever get answers, Luffy," Robin said in amusement. "If Brook doesn't know, I'm sure no one else will." Luffy pouted, really curious.
"We'll work on your ship's rudder in the morning, Bones," Franky said when Brook left to go on his own ship, looking a bit sad, but also grateful.
"I look forward to it!" Brook exclaimed happily, able to jump from the Sunny to his own ship. Luffy and Zoro both wondered if he actually needed food or water since he must have run out by now. Sanji was on watch that night, and Robin would be out on deck as well, in case something came out of the fog. Plus, she'd drank coffee much too late and wasn't sleeping anytime soon.
"Tonight would have been the perfect night for the kitchen. Risk having them walk in, so we have to be quick and quiet," Zoro said as he and Luffy got ready for bed. She sent him a look, and crawled into bed. No kitchen sex. Zoro huffed and glared at her. NO KITCHEN SEX.
"Fine. But I'll convince you sooner or later," Zoro mumbled into her hair when he draped an arm over her for her to be the tiny spoon. Luffy shook her head, sure that he wouldn't be able to convince her. Other rooms, maybe, but not the kitchen. She was sure of that. Especially not where anyone ate or cooked.
She knew Zoro found it mostly very erotic because it would spit in Sanji's face, even if he didn't know about it. But Luffy would feel guilty afterwards if they did do it. And she wasn't going to budge on this. She knew Zoro would never force her, but she was sure he was going to tease her and try to convince her. It wasn't going to work.
They both fell asleep quickly, Luffy with the blankets up to her nose.

Franky worked at the back of Brook's ship, hanging down from the railing at the back, repairing the rudder. The ship was in horrible condition, though in a different way than the Merry. The ship was old and hadn't been serviced in decades, while the Merry had just been pushed to do too much.
Luffy handed supplies down to Franky using a pulley system the cyborg had created with Luffy's help. It took many hours for the rudder to be in working condition, and even then it was only temporary. The ship would need to be replaced, if Brook even still wanted to be a pirate. He was a singer, so he might be able to get by on that just by the shock factor of a singing skeleton.
The nymph liked the violin music more than the singing, though Bink's Sake was catchy. Of course, she couldn't sing to it. Brook was talking to Chopper about his anatomy, as Chopper was very curious as well. Luffy looked over to the Sunny, and saw Zoro lifting weights through the little windows in the crowsnest. Since Brook's ship was so much bigger than the Sunny, the deck was high enough for Luffy to see into the crowsnest.
"I need another two foot plank of wood, Luffy!" Franky shouted from below. "I'm gonna make it just a little thicker," the cyborg explained. Luffy created another piece of wood, looking away from the crowsnest, and gave it to Franky.
A few more minutes and the cyborg was climbing back up. "Time to go fix the wheel, it's in horrible condition." They were working like partners, and Luffy followed the much, much bigger man onto the front deck to replace the rotted wheel. Luffy just created a whole wheel, since Sanji had called out that it was lunch time, and Luffy was hungry.
Franky easily fixed the wheel, and asked for Luffy to move it to the left so he could check if the rudder responded like he was sure it would. "Done! Nice job, partner!" Franky shouted looking satisfied, and leaned down to give Luffy a high five.
They both jumped back onto the grassy deck and headed to the galley, Zoro climbing down from the crowsnest, sweaty but with his shirt on. It made Luffy pout. "Did you guys fix it?" Zoro asked when he caught up to her. She nodded.
"Yow! Luffy's a SUPER help to me!" Franky said, making the girl grin. Zoro smiled, holding the teen's hand.
"Don't go and start spending all your time with Franky or I'll get jealous," he said playfully. She gave him a look, and he grinned.
"Zoro, I really don't think you need to worry about something like that," Nami said while Sanji was setting out the sandwiches based on everyone's favorites, besides Brook, who had said anything was fine. "You and Luffy are joined at the hip and I don't think that's gonna change."
Luffy nodded in agreement. "Yo, Bones, your ship is all ready to go," Franky said. Brook laughed and thanked them. "It was no problem. We fixed it up with quality wood and nails. Though, you're gonna need to let go of that ship. I'm amazed it's lasted this long to be honest. I know it would be hard to let it go, but for your own safety."
I can make you some money to buy something else, Luffy offered. Brook had tears in his eyes. Well, eye sockets. "Thank you so much!" and he started crying. The others smiled. I can also try and replicate a log pose. I don't know if I will be able to, but it would help you out.
"We do have the big log pose on the ship now, but I'm not comfortable getting rid of this one," Nami said, looking down at the log pose on her wrist. "Just for safety, if something happened to the ship, we'd need it. I'm sorry we don't have an extra." Nami and Usopp had gotten used to Brook after everyone else clearly saw nothing dangerous about him. Nami was even brave enough to punch him when he asked to see her panties when Luffy was working with Franky.
"What you've done for me is more than enough," Brook said with a bow. The crew smiled and ate their sandwiches.
Later that day, Brook was standing with a nice bag of food made from both Luffy and some cooked from Sanji that would last longer than Luffy's. Robin had a thinking face on, and Zoro knew what she was going to ask. He'd been there since the beginning, and saw the recruitment of each member, even if he was the one who insisted on Luffy coming with them. Luffy looked sad at seeing Brook leave, clinging onto his back like usual.
She did this for multiple reasons. One, she liked being close to Zoro; two, it was convenient, and three, she was able to see things better like this. She was so short usually that she missed out on seeing other things, hidden behind many legs.
"Don't worry, Luffy," Zoro said quietly. She looked at him in question. "You'll see soon." Chopper was sad to see Brook go as well, and after Robin observed her crew for a few moments, she asked, "I know it's late notice, but would you like to come along with us?"
Luffy and Chopper's face lit up while Zoro closed his eyes with a smile. Luffy was happy, and even though he didn't particularly become fond of Brook, he was another swordsman that he and Luffy could fight if they wanted. Sanji refused to spar with Luffy, still, and Zoro fighting with him was kind of boring. The others were also not fun to fight, since none of them used swords.
"Really?" Brook asked quietly.
"Oi, Robin! Luffy and I did all that work for nothing?!" Franky accused. Luffy laughed, not regretting the experience. She got to do something with Franky, and that was nice. Robin smiled.
"I was observing Brook. He seems like he'd fit in fine," the captain said sweetly. Brook still looked shocked, somehow, even though he didn't have facial features. "So, what do you say?" Robin asked, smiling at Brook still.
"I would be honored," Brook replied. Luffy smiled and Zoro looked up, glad Luffy was happy. Though she was almost always happy. It didn't mean Zoro enjoyed it any less, though. Brook was built a bed in the boy's room, Franky having made more than enough room for new beds. Luffy hadn't gone in there much after the first time when they first entered the ship.
Hers and Zoro's room was much nicer. Their bed was bigger and the room was more spacious. Luffy turned to Franky after he was done fixing up a new bunk with supplies Luffy gave him before she ran out for the day. After the point of being unable to create anymore, nothing came out of her hands. Why is mine and Zoro's room so much nicer?
"Figured you two would be spending more time there together than us just sleeping at night. Plus, you still scared me, so I made it nice for you," the cyborg replied honestly. Luffy laughed and Zoro smirked. It wasn't normal to enjoy your partner scaring people. But, it made it clear how damn badass and dangerous Luffy was.
Well, thanks. Our room is really nice.
"I'm glad you guys like it," Franky replied. He shook the bunk a bit before deeming it safe. It was much longer than Usopp, Chopper and Sanji's bunks. After all, Brook was much taller.
"You probably won't want the bed back," Zoro said in a sly voice. Luffy turned around and punched him. Don't say stuff like that to other people! she wrote angrily, face red. Franky didn't look phased.
"I'm in my thirties. If you think talk like that will bother me, you've got it wrong, bro," Franky said and clapped Zoro on the shoulder before walking out. Luffy started laughing hysterically and pointing at Zoro, who was scowling.
"Shut it," Zoro grumbled. She continued to grin and ran out of the room. He followed, kicking the bed irritably. Franky made him look stupid in front of Luffy. He wanted to go punch Sanji. But, instead he went to the crowsnest to lift some weights. Luffy was talking with Robin, though Zoro couldn't see what she was writing. He hoped it wasn't spreading around his failure of a tease.
It didn't take long for Luffy to peek her head into the crowsnest after Zoro started lifting the weights, a sour look on his face. She smiled and climbed in, closing the hatch and sitting down. Are you mad at me laughing? she wrote, suddenly not smiling anymore. She was worried she'd upset Zoro. He sighed, and put the weights down, and pat his lap. She walked over and sat down.
"I'm not mad. Didn't expect anyone to not be flustered about that stuff besides Robin," Zoro replied.
Robin and Franky are older. Everyone else is young. Besides Brook.
"I know. You know what would make me happier? I won't be cranky anymore," he whispered against her neck. Fighting? Zoro laughed. "Sure, why not?" It wasn't what he was hinting at, but he knew Luffy knew that and clearly wasn't in the mood right now. It was a subtle turn down but a turn down nonetheless.
They both dropped from the crowsnest, and started a battle. To say Franky was furious they injured the ship with their fight was an understatement. He ran out to stop them and just barely ducked a swing of Luffy's blade-arm. After all, the two get very into their fights, not paying attention to anyone or anything else.
"What, Franky?!" Zoro asked, he and Luffy glaring at him for interrupting their fight.
"Don't hurt the ship!" Franky roared.
"Luffy can fix it!" the green haired teen argued back. Luffy and Zoro were fighting; no one interrupted that, everyone else knew that. After all, Usopp nearly got his nose chopped off once when he got too close and they didn't notice him.
"Still, don't hurt the Sunny just to get off in your fights!" Luffy kicked Franky in the chest and out of their area. He rolled away a bit, hitting the cabin wall. Luffy stormed over and fixed the damage they'd done, and Zoro then demanded, "Happy now?!"
Both of them resumed their fight like nothing had happened, leaving Franky glowering. The others were all laughing. Sanji was chuckling, too. Everyone had seen the scuffle, since Luffy and Zoro weren't quiet when they fought. The sounds of metal clashing echoed around the ship. "Lesson learned, Franky? Don't interrupt their fights unless you want to be caught in the middle," Robin said calmly from her table on the upper deck.
"You're lucky all you got was a kick out of the way from Luffy," Sanji said. "One time I interrupted and she threw a knife at me." Franky looked up at him in shock. "She's a completely different person when she battles."
"Well, you did see her dissolve Blueno's head and toss him into the waterfall, didn't you?" Robin asked. The others who didn't know about that looked horrified.
"That was an enemy! I'm her crewmate," Franky protested, but got up and left the middle deck, glaring at the fighting two, who were both bloody in some places. Usually they were so cuddly, seeing them go at each other like this was unnerving.
"Well, now you know not to interfere," Nami said simply.
About fifteen minutes after the fight, both of them were napping against the mast, like they hadn't been trying to come as close to offing each other as they could. Brook had been watching them blankly. Neither knew about it, but Luffy heard Robin ask him what was wrong.
"It's just strange seeing someone who looks like a child acting in such ways." Luffy glowered at Brook, waking up from the conversation since things had gotten quiet when the others went their separate ways to do different things. Since Luffy was out of creations for the day, she couldn't throw anything at him.
"Do try to refrain from commenting on Luffy's unassuming appearance," Robin said pleasantly. "Unless you'd like to be injured in some way. She doesn't take lightly to being underestimated." Luffy was still glaring, but Zoro sleepily pulled her back against his chest, not fully awake. Luffy leaned back and closed her eyes, falling back asleep, too.
At dinner that night, Franky was glaring at Luffy, who hadn't apologized. "Franky stop glaring, she's not gonna apologize. You interrupted the fight," Zoro said simply, as Luffy was clearly not going to address the topic.
"I don't want an apology for kicking me, I want an apology for hurting the Sunny. She's your new ship, respect her," Franky grumbled.
"She messed up the Merry, too, but nothing was lasting," Zoro replied simply. He took a big sip of his bowl of ramen, clapping Luffy on the back when she choked on the huge mouthful she was in the process of swallowing.
"WHAT?!" Usopp roared. "You hurt the Going Merry?!"
I fixed her and helped you repair her afterwards, she pointed out.
"But you still hurt her, she was alive, Luffy!" Usopp pointed out. Luffy suddenly looked extremely ashamed and guilty. She had never thought about it like that, but she hadn't known at the time. Zoro glared at him.
"It's not like we knew that at the time," he shot back. Usopp's expression faltered, and he looked guilty at Luffy's sad face, no longer looking very interested at her ramen. Sanji called Usopp out on it, too, unable to stand a lady looking sad. Zoro glowered at him, but didn't say anything about it.
"Sorry, Luffy. I know you wouldn't have hurt her if we knew," Usopp said sincerely. Luffy nodded. I won't hurt Sunny anymore. I'll try not to.
The room was a bit gloomy before Brook started singing. Luffy wished she could sing, too. She would definitely sing along if she could. The meal steadily picked up until people were talking and laughing again. Luffy still looked a bit sad, but didn't seem to be miserable like she'd been moments ago. Brook was a nice addition to the crew, even if he was creepy with the girls besides Luffy.
I didn't want to write Thriller Bark, but still have Brook. So here is it.
