Emma walked to her house, feeling almost lightheaded from everything that had happened within the last few hours. The range of emotions she had felt were overwhelming, and it ended with her falling deeply in love.

She never thought this would happen. She thought love was something that needed to be built over time, and she knew it still was, but how had she gained so many new feelings for him in such a short period of time? Her stomach was filled with butterflies, and she thought she was flying. Her mind was elsewhere, and she almost walked into her room door when she got down the hallway.

"Emma! How was your date?" her mom asked, and Emma snapped back to reality.

"It- it was... amazing." she sighed, content with her life.

"You didn't do anything... naughty... right?" she asked, seeing the look on her daughter's face.

"What? No!" Emma defended herself. "I'd never do that!"

"I sure hope not. I'm not ready for unexpected grandkids, Emma." she teased.

"That... ew! No!" Emma shuddered and walked into her room.

She was getting undressed when her phone buzzed. She slipped on her sleepshirt and grabbed her phone off of the nightstand.

Ferb: thanks for going out with me, I had a lot of fun tonight ;)

She giggled and plopped down on the bed, typing away.

Emma: anytime! I had a lot of fun too! well, except for the, you know, kidnapping and all that fun stuff haha!

Ferb: yah, that wasn't exactly the best circumstances for a first date huh?

Emma: first date? technically that was our second!

Ferb: oh of course, SECOND date :) anyways, I'm going to go to bed, but I will see you tomorrow, love!

Emma: aww already? just kidding, goodnight!

Emma saw the typing bubbles start, then disappear. They started again, and then disappeared. A few minutes of them popping up and disappearing later, it buzzed again.

Ferb: I love you, Emma Hunter.

She paused, looking at the three words on her screen. They had already said I love you earlier that night, but looking at the words in person made her heart melt.

Emma: I love you too, Ferb Fletcher.

She put her phone on the charger and laid back on her bed.

Am I dreaming? Is this really happening? she thought, and pinched herself to see if she was awake. Ouch! Yep, definitely awake.

She smiled a goofy smile and recalled the taste of his lips. She almost regretted coming home, and just wanted to be cuddled up next to him. She could faintly feel his arms wrapped around her and drifted to sleep with images flashing through her head.

Ferb had been practically immobilized by the events of that crazy night. He almost tripped over the rug and caught himself on the couch barely.

He got up and leaned against the couch for balance before his mind started thinking. Wait, where did Phineas and Isabella go? They were on the couch before... he thought, and walked up the stairs to his room. He walked in and jumped when he heard a small noise from the door. He looked back to the door and saw Phineas and Isabella asleep, cuddling against the wall.

He rolled his eyes and sighed. He grabbed a blanket, pajamas, and a pillow and walked to the bathroom to change. He looked in the mirror at his ruffled hair and smirked. He remembered her laugh and the look on her face when Irving had taken that picture of them, and couldn't help but smile. He changed quickly and walked back downstairs to set up a bed on the couch.

He closed his eyes but it wasn't minutes later when he remembered that homecoming was coming up. He opened his eyes and started digging through his brain of how to ask her. He looked and looked, but none of them appealed to him. This had to be perfect, and he was going to make it perfect for her if it meant he didn't sleep for a week.

He got up and crept up the stairs to his room, where he grabbed an empty piece of paper and started sketching a design, a smile spreading across his face.

This was going to be a Ferb Fletcher original idea.

The next morning, Emma woke up, yawned and stretched, and got out of bed. She looked at herself in the mirror and gasped at the monster looking at her. She ran to her bathroom, grabbed a brush and brushed it out until it was less tangled and just... frizzy. She groaned and pulled out her flat iron.

Meanwhile, Ferb had gotten absolutely no sleep last night, and he was exhausted. He looked brain dead when Phineas walked down the stairs to find his brother.

"Ferb!" he called, and then saw him. "Whoa... what happened to you?"

"I- uh... I was up-" he started, but then his eyes closed.

"Ferb?" Phineas asked, and Ferb snorted and woke up.

"What did I miss?" he asked.

"You, my friend, are not ready to go to school. I'll tell mom you're not feeling good, but I suggest you go upstairs and act sick." Phineas sighed and walked upstairs.

Ferb nodded and walked to his bed, where he climbed in and fell asleep immediately.

Emma got ready to go, and was waiting with Isabella, Buford, and Baljeet at the Flynn-Fletcher house for the brothers. Phineas walked out and closed the door behind him.

"Hey, guys!" he smiled.

"Um..." Emma started, glancing back at the door.

"Oh! Ferb didn't sleep last night so he's in bed sleeping pretending to be sick. Sorry, Emma..." Phineas said with a frown. "If it makes you feel better, he was working on something for you."

Emma frowned. "Oh, Ferb... does he usually do stuff like this?" she asked, concerned.

"Not really... you must have some spell on him!" Phineas laughed.

"I- I hope he's okay."

"You might be able to go see him, but you gotta hurry because the bus is on its way."

Emma nodded and ran inside the house.

"Hi, Emma!" Linda called from the kitchen. "Ferb's sick, just don't get too close, I don't want you getting sick too!"

"Thank you, I won't!" she smiled and ran upstairs. She opened the door to find Ferb sleeping peacefully. His hair was a mess and he had dark bags under his eyes. It hurt her to see him like this. She sat on the bed next to him and stroked his forehead. "Don't hurt yourself for me, my love..." she whispered in his ear before kissing him on the forehead and getting up.

She sighed and leaned on his chest for a second before walking out of the room and down the stairs.

"I'm sure he will love seeing you when he's feeling better, honey!" Linda smiled, and Emma smiled sadly back.

"Yeah, I hope so... can I come see him after school?" she asked.

"Of course! Just be careful!" Linda said, and gave Emma a hug before she ran out the door and down the street with the rest of her friends.

Sorry this chapter was so short, I'm tired and I gotta wake up early tomorrow! Plus, gotta keep the suspense kind of high! :)
