Title Change!

It's now Dancing With Darkness, thanks to the wonderful suggestion from ItsYaBoi325! Thank you, I really liked that.

(And the Hades idea kinda just hit me from out of nowhere, so now I've got to re-plan the whole story! Yay!)

ItsYaBoi325: Thanks! I really like writing and I just, again, liked the weird creative idea I got, and the title I had previously, didn't work.

Callum Runchman: Yeah, I noticed that as well, she does feel bad about it, but her dislike for her father other took her agility to make a proper decision.

PurpleBunny5504: Thanks! But you can thank ItsYaBoi325 for the title, I could never have come up with that. :)

I woke up when I randomly hit the floor, I checked for any injuries. I was fine, and luckily, I was still a dog. Mr. D looked down surprised and I hopped back up on my paws. Ethan laughed and he grabbed me and I sat down on his lap to hear the rest of the conversation.

Percy glanced over and I caught his eye, he smiled but he looked a little suspicious. I mean, he knew about my shape-shifting and he knew I liked dogs... oh man, I didn't think this through. I wagged my tail and made face look as happy as I could with all of this on my mind.

"Percy?"

His head snapped back to the front, "Yes, Chiron?"

"You seem distracted, care to explain? Or why Rose never came back after her little trip into the city?"

Ethan's grip on me tightened and I leaned into his arms, trying to hide the guilt that was swarming inside me like a hive of bees, occasionally stinging. "Well, you know what happened last summer with Luke. Rose had been working with him since then, and she left with only a few hours into her visit." I got out of the death grip Ethan was holding me in and I jumped onto Percy.

He looked down and smiled a little, he ruffled the fur on my head, then let me sit down. He rubbed my chest as he continued, "She blocked any blow I even tried to get on Luke when he showed up, she even pushed me into a wall. I mean, she said people change on our walk back to Cabin 3 after Capture the Flag, but I didn't think she meant it like that."

Chiron looked thoughtful for a minute, then said, "You know. About half-way through your quest, I asked to talk to her, and she seemed a little freaked out and was falling behind in her training."

Mr. D nodded, and fingered the soda can on the table. Then Chiron sighed, "Percy, in sight of recent events, I must, unwilling, leave."

"Wait, what? You were fired?"

I felt my head droop a little and again refused to make eye contact. Then I heard a clip- clop of hooves coming up behind us, and I remembered Grover from last summer. He knew I was a dog, I smelled like a demigod. I struggled to get down on the floor, and once I hit the wood I started tugging on Ethan's pant leg. He looked down worriedly.

I saw the familiar hooves and I tugged harder, Ethan stood up and followed me into the field. I head in the distance Grover ask what that was all about. I stole a glance behind me and saw Percy looking at us with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

He knew, we had to get that quest issued and get out of there. I trotted a head of my companion and led him into the forest. To the creek Luke and I walked at once, no one ever goes there, and we were armed.

"Do you know where we are going?"

As soon as we were past the tree line, and far enough in that we would hear anyone coming, I morphed back into a human. I stretched my arms and legs, "Man, being a dog makes you stiff. And to answer your question, of course I know where I'm going, I lived here for five years!"

"Alright, sorry." Ethan put his hands up in surrender.

I sighed, "Sorry, I just had to talk to you. 1) We've got to do this fast, Percy knows. And 2) I have to stay away from all satyrs, we're half bloods, and they can smell me from a mile away."

Ethan nodded and I continued, "Also, Hades visited me in a dream. He said he wants us to get close to his two kids so they have friends when they come out of the Lotus Casino, my guess is they've been in there a while need to adjust."

A nod from Ethan said he understood, "So, we need to imply that there should be a quest soon?" He asked.

"Exactly, but the fact that Chiron got fired just makes it harder, he always understood. If they are replacing him, I don't know what they will do."

Ethan put a hand on my shoulder, causing me to blush, just slightly though. "Hey, we'll figure it out, we are after all the amazing Ethan and Rose."

I laughed, "I think you mean the amazing Rose and Ethan."

That earned me an eye roll, once we got to the creek, I sat down and the bank, and Ethan joined me, reluctantly. I shook my head, of course my friend didn't like the water, all my friends didn't I mean Luke... huh. Besides Luke, Ethan was the only other friend I had now. That's a sad thought. "So, what's this place?"

I shrugged, "It's quiet and there's water."

"Of course you like it then."

We both laughed and Ethan finished the story he had started on our walk here.

Turned out that was the day he found out he was one of us, he was rarely attacked though. As he was a son of a minor goddess. He still didn't meet his mother until about a year later, and that's when he lost his eye.

I honestly don't know how he could have an enemy he wanted revenge on, he was nice to everyone so far.

We talked for a little longer until we heard someone coming up behind us. "You sure they're this way?"

"Sure, I can differently smell, and one is very powerful, but why did you want me to find these two?"

It was Percy and Grover, "Yeah, why Percy?"

And Annabeth?! "I think the dog is Rose, whenever Thalia's tree way mentioned she stiffened up, also Ethan kept a hold of her so tight I though she might get hurt."

The footsteps were getting closer, I changed back into a dog and snatched up a stick. Ethan got the memo, he threw the stick into the water and dashed after in, making sure to draw out how long I could keep the stick away. Then Percy and his friends came into view. I grabbed the stick and raced back, Ethan laughed and tossed the piece of wood again.

"Hey! Ethan! What are you doing in here? It's dangerous?" Annabeth asked. She knelt down beside him. I ambled back dropped the stick to the ground, uhg. I'll have to wash out my mouth, dirty stick. "Hey girl. You protecting Ethan here?"

I yapped like a chihuahua and chased my tail, Annabeth pet the top of my head and then went back to questioning the son of Nemesis. I looked up and saw Percy and Grover whispering to each other. I whined nervously, and, thankfully, Ethan noticed. "Do mind if we go and find something to eat?"

"Sure! It's almost dinner anyway," Annabeth smiled and offered her hand to help him up. He gratefully took it and motioned for me to follow. He had a little limp, I'll have to ask about that later. I hope he isn't hurt to badly.

Our walk back to Camp was silent, not counting the shuffling of feet and the huffs from the three, I mean they didn't get to rest before they had to take the two mile walk back.

So, what did you think?

Did you like it? I guess I'm just in a writing mood this week, post again soon.
