SBPD
Juliet was working the morning half of a Friday shift.
Juliet was typing a report when a familiar voice said her name.
"Hey Juliet." the mystery voice said.
Juliet looked up and saw Declan standing in front of her.
"Uh hey, Declan." Juliet said.
"How have you been?"
Juliet's phone rang and the word 'Husband' with Shawn's picture came up.
"Excuse me." Juliet said.
Declan looked at the phone and nodded.
"Hello?" Juliet asked.
"Hey Jules, what are you doing?" Shawn asked.
"Why?"
"I'm standing outside.
"Actually, can you come inside? It's just that it's cold."
"Yeah, I'll be in, in just a minute."
"Thank you. Love you."
"Love you too."
Juliet hung up the phone and sat back down at her desk.
Shawn
Shawn opened the doors to the station and saw Juliet talking to someone.
Shawn walked closer and saw that it was Declan.
Shawn walked up behind Juliet and grabbed her waist and hugged her.
"Hello wife." Shawn said.
Juliet turned her head and smiled, "Hello husband. How are you?"
"Eh. How are you and the bump?"
"Good. I was just getting hungry, do you have any lunch plans?"
"No. What do you want?"
Declan cleared his throat.
Shawn looked up and acknowledged Declan.
"Hey Shawn." Declan greeted.
"Declan." Shawn grumbled.
Juliet slapped Shawn's hands that were around her waist.
"Excuse us, just a second." Juliet said.
Juliet grabbed Shawn's hand and brought him to a corner.
"What was that?" Juliet whispered.
"You really want me to act civil in front of him?" Shawn asked.
Juliet rubbed her face.
"Shawn, I know you hate him, believe me I do too, but I'm at work and I have to be professional. Unfortunately that means I have to have a civil conversation with him."
"But I don't."
"You're right, but you will, because I'm asking you to. Please."
Shawn threw his head back and groaned.
"I'm only doing this because you're my wife and I love you." Shawn said.
"That's it?"
"Well tonight is Friday and I was wondering…"
"Not feeling like it tonight."
Shawn's jaw dropped.
"Can we discuss this at the Psych office later?"
"Yes, of course."
"Can I have a kiss please?"
"When we get back over there."
"Fine."
Juliet grabbed Shawn's hand and walked back over to Declan.
Juliet sat back down in her chair and picked up her pen.
"Oh Jules, I forgot to give you this when I walked in." Shawn said.
Juliet looked at Shawn and he kissed her.
Juliet deepened the kiss and then pulled away.
"Hey Jules." Shawn whispered.
"Hey Shawn." Juliet whispered back.
Shawn straightened back up and held his hand out for Declan to shake.
"Hey Declan. How are you?" Shawn asked.
"Can't complain. How are you?" Declan asked.
"Good. We are expecting a little Spencer."
Declan looked at Juliet and she nodded to confirm.
"Well congratulations to the both of you." Declan congratulated.
"Thanks, man. I better get going." Shawn said.
Juliet looked up at him with a pout.
Shawn looked down at Juliet and smiled, "Fine."
Juliet pulled a chair up for Shawn and he sat down.
A few minutes later Carlton came around the corner and saw Declan at Juliet's desk.
"Declan." Carlton said.
"Hey Carlton. How are you?" Declan asked.
"Fine. Why are you here?"
"I came to talk to a friend."
"A friend?" Juliet asked.
"Yeah, you're a friend of mine."
"No I don't think so."
"And why not?"
"Declan, I left you for Shawn."
"We can't be friends?"
"I don't think that's how that works. I left you for another man. I married that man and I'm having that man's baby."
"Juliet, we're adults."
"I'm also doing this out of respect for my husband."
"Oh, so this was his idea?"
"Excuse me?" Shawn asked.
"Why'd she choose you anyway?"
"I chose him because he was always going to win. It was always going to be him." Juliet explained.
"I'm guessing he told you then right?"
"Yes I did tell her." Shawn said.
"And she still stayed?"
"Are you blind? Of course she stayed."
"That was dumb on her part."
Shawn got out of his chair and in Declan's face.
"Do not call my wife dumb, do you understand me?" Shawn threatened.
"Well she is."
Shawn looked at Juliet and then looked back at Declan and punched Declan in the face.
"Shawn!" Juliet yelled.
Karen heard the commotion out in the bullpen area. She left her office and saw Declan on the floor and Shawn's fist balled up.
"Mr. Spencer, what happened?" Karen asked.
"He called my wife dumb, twice." Shawn said.
"Go take a walk."
"Chief…"
"Walk, now!"
Shawn looked at Juliet and left the station.
"What the hell happened?" Karen asked.
"Declan was about to bring up Shawn's…" Juliet started.
"Why did he call you dumb?"
"He thought I was dumb for choosing to stay with Shawn."
Declan groaned on the floor holding his nose.
"Get out of here, we'll talk about this on Monday." Karen whispered.
Juliet grabbed her purse and went to go find Shawn. She got to the parking lot and didn't see his car. She got in her car and drove to the Psych office.
Juliet pulled in next to Shawn's car and parked. She got out of the car and walked in and slammed the door.
"Shawn Spencer!" Juliet yelled.
Juliet got to the main part of the Psych office and didn't see Shawn.
Juliet took out her phone and called Shawn's phone.
Juliet heard Shawn's phone. She threw the papers off his desk and found his phone.
"Damn it." Juliet said.
Juliet locked the office up and went and looked for Shawn on the beach.
About a mile or so down the beach Juliet saw Shawn sitting on a rock with his head in his hands and his hand bandaged up.
Juliet walked up to him and sat by him, but didn't say anything.
After a few minutes of sitting in silence, Shawn spoke.
"I'm sorry, Jules." Shawn whispered.
Juliet grabbed Shawn's good hand, "I know. Thank you for standing up for me."
Shawn looked at Juliet, "I will always stick up for you. I love you."
"I love you too."
Shawn kissed Juliet on the cheek.
"I knew he would pull some stupid stunt." Juliet said.
"This isn't your fault, you know that right?" Shawn asked.
Juliet nodded.
"Hey look at me." Shawn said.
Juliet looked up at Shawn, "Now I see why you aren't civil with him."
"Jules, I'm one of the nicest guys out there…I think, but when I have a problem with someone, I automatically change into a different person when I'm around them."
"Like today?"
"Like today."
SBPD
Karen nursed Declan back to full health.
"Mr. Rand, come in my office for a second." Karen said.
Declan followed Karen to her office and sat down in one of the chairs.
"Why did you call Juliet dumb?" Karen asked.
"She's dumb for staying with Shawn after she knew he was a fraud." Declan explained.
"You do know that they split up a year ago because of that?"
"No I didn't."
"Exactly. She took him back because she loves him. It wasn't easy. It was a long 6 weeks with them not being together. Shawn didn't take any cases, Juliet was in her own little world."
"You could've called me."
"But aren't you a fraud too?"
"So you're pulling that card?"
"Hell yeah I'm pulling that card."
"That's not fair."
"It is more than fair. Look Mr. Rand, I don't blame Shawn for punching the living hell out of your face."
"Really?"
"100%. You insulted his wife. Shawn would do anything for Juliet and Juliet would do anything for Shawn."
"So you're taking his side?"
"I didn't say that. I said, I don't blame him."
"So basically taking his side."
"You're going to come across the wrong person one day and they're going to do much worse than a broken nose. Now get out of my office and my station."
Declan got up and walked out of Karen's office and slammed the door.
Shawn & Juliet
The couple was still sitting on the beach enjoying each other's company.
Shawn looked at Juliet, "Hey, you wanna go get some pizza?"
"I'm always down for pizza, Spencer." Juliet said.
"I love you!"
"Just because of pizza?"
"No silly, I love you more because of pizza."
"So pizza must've been a deal breaker."
"With you baby, there is no deal breaker."
Juliet smiled and kissed Shawn.
Shawn stood up and offered his good hand to Juliet.
Juliet grabbed his hand and they walked to the boardwalk and got themselves a giant slice of pizza each.
"What if our kid doesn't like pizza?" Shawn asked.
"We're still keeping the kid." Juliet said.
"Now if they don't like pineapple what are we doing?"
"Still keeping the kid."
"So there's no way around it?"
"Nope."
Shawn laughed, "You know I'm obsessed with our kid already and you're only 9 weeks pregnant."
"You think?"
"You don't like it?"
"I love it, it just becomes a little much at times."
"Dial it back a bit?"
"Do you mind?"
"No. Now when the baby gets here, all bets are off."
"So you're going to be a baby hog?"
"A baby hog?"
"Yeah. I would like to hold our child every once in a while. Plus you can't feed the baby."
"Why not?"
"Your nipples are useless."
"To the baby maybe, but you, nah."
Juliet laughed and slapped Shawn's hand.
"You know what I mean."
"Yeah I do. Are you ready for Christmas?"
"I am. I'm ready to wake up on Christmas morning as a Spencer."
"Have you got your stuff changed?"
"What stuff?"
"Your license and social security card?"
"My license came in yesterday and I have to pick up my social on Wednesday."
"They work Christmas Eve?"
"They're sending it to the station."
"Are you working Christmas Eve?"
"No. I took off the day before until a few days after we get back."
Shawn nodded.
Shawn and Juliet sat and talked for a few more minutes before Shawn was getting tired.
"You need a nap?" Juliet asked.
Shawn nodded.
"Let's go home." Juliet said.
Shawn grabbed their trash and threw it away and walked Juliet to her car.
"You coming straight home?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah. Don't start your nap until I'm there." Juliet said.
"Why?"
"I like it when we cuddle on the couch."
"That is nice. I love you. I'll see you in a few minutes."
"I love you too."
Shawn gave Juliet a kiss and then got in his car and drove home.
Shawn got home and Juliet pulled in right behind him. He got out of the car and waited until Juliet pulled into the garage before walking through the door.
Juliet got out and got her purse and went inside.
The couple went to their bedroom and got into some comfortable clothes and went and sat on the couch.
Shawn grabbed a blanket and held out his arms for Juliet to come lay in front of him.
Juliet got on the couch and got curled up into Shawn's arms.
Juliet was dozing off when Shawn whispered, "I love you Juliet."
"I love you too, Shawn." Juliet said.
Shawn kissed Juliet on her cheek and then began to doze off with Juliet in his arms.
