"Alright, calibrated output… eighty percent. That should be fine for now," Rogan muttered as he watched the robotic arm open and close. He knew he could probably crank the power up on this bad boy, but right now he just needed to make sure it's basic motor skills were functioning properly. Heath could help him out with the rest when he got here. Whenever that was anyway.

He and Heath had been working on making multiple sets of arms that he could switch out for any given situation or mission. Partly because it was productive, and partly because they just enjoyed working with one another. They could geek out and try different methods and equipment.

They both looked forward to it, and typically both arrived on time unless they had a mission or emergency. Rogen wondered what was keeping Heath so long.

As if on cue, the door opened and Heath made his way inside, an annoyed look on his face. "Well, look who decided to show up. Wasn't sure if you got called on a last minute mission or something. Was gonna hate having to reschedule," Rogen said as Heath set his things down and made his way over.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Got tied up in some dumb meeting. Victor did something nuts, and the power couple had to call everybody together for some big group lecture. Waste of freaking time," Heath complained.

Rogen hummed. Drake and Delta had more or less been on the same page recently. They still had their little back and forth banter of course, but they were acting more like a married couple than two high school kids pretending to hate each other now. "Well, nothing you can do about that. Can't go ticking off Drake after all," Rogen said.

Heath snorted as he looked over the arm on the table. They were going to be working on a pair designed for stealth missions today. "Sometimes I think you lucked out getting into this group. At least you don't have the big boss looming over your head every other second," he said.

"Yeah.. must be especially tough when you're dating the bosses' little sister," Rogan said, not able to bite back a smirk.

Heath narrowed his eyes. "You just couldn't help yourself could you? For the last time, we're not dating. And it's not because she's the boss's sister, it's because she annoys the living crap out of me. She's like the living incarnation of nails on a chalkboard."

"But you keep hanging out with her anyway…"

"Because of Anna!"

"You guys hung out before Anna."

"Can we just work on the arms already!"

Rogen chuckled. "Alright, I just had to get the daily dose of teasing out of my system. Let's get this done," he said as he slid over his pad towards the boy. "I've been focusing on the motor functions so far. Figured I'd leave the power output and fine tuning to you since… you know, you're the expert on this stuff."

Heath hummed. Honestly between their projects and the maintenance on his arms, Rogan had been getting pretty good with this stuff himself. He did a quick skim through everything, sure that Rogen had more than covered his part, and then began playing with the power output.

The arm balled it's fist up, and Rogen could tell with a glance just how much more force it had behind it. It was less than his usual arms, but since this was for stealth there wasn't really a need for it to be too powerful. "We're… we're supposed to be seeing a movie on Saturday…"

Rogen looked up towards Heath. "What?"

"We're seeing a movie on Saturday," Heath repeated. "It's some stupid comedy or something I never heard of. We only picked it because she wanted to see some dumb girly movie, I wanted to see an action flick, and we broke even…"

Rogen hummed and nodded. "So you're going on a date?"

"It's not a date!"

"It sounds like a date."

"Well it's not. She was supposed to go shopping or something, but then she found out the stupid sore she wanted to get her crap from was closed tomorrow, so now she's going to see a movie. And as usual she wouldn't stop bugging me until I want. So I said yes, and now we're seeing stupid movie and… I don't know, getting a cinnabon or something after…"

Rogen nodded. "Uh-huh, yeah… you literally just described dinner and a movie. That's a date," he said pointing at him. "You may not want to call it that, but it's totally-"

"It's not a date!" Heath yelled.

The older boy clicked his tongue. "Alright, fine. Not a date," he said holding his hands up. He knew how he got when it came to Shen Mi. The two fought like a married couple, but always stuck around one another. And whenever you even slightly implied something between them they flipped out. "Just… dinner a movie."

Heath scowled and got back to his work, but Rogen could tell something was bothering him. He wouldn't have brought it up in the first place if there wasn't. "But… if hypothetically, it was like a date… what would I do?"

Rogen smirked, and Heath almost immediately regretted asking him. "You've never been on a date before huh?" Rogen asked.

Heath grit his teeth."No, I've never been on a dumb date. Which this isn't. I'm just curious." This was all his freaking fault he was like this. He wanted him to act like it was no big deal so he could shake off his worries. Instead he just fanned the flames.

"Well… when me and Artemis go out, it's pretty chill. We usually take turns paying but… I really don't think that's gonna fly with Shen Mi." She definitely didn't seem like the type of girl who was going to offer to pay or even split the bill.

Heath rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I already knew that…" Despite literally being able to buy and sell the theterer, she was going to expect him to pay for the tickets. Which wasn't a big deal, it was just… petty. "What do you guys talk about?"

"Why do you need talking advice if it's not a date?" Rogen asked, smirking.

"Just shut up and tell me!"

Rogen rubbed his chin in thought. With how smart he was it was easy to forget, but the guy was still just barely a teen. He was probably fresh out of the 'girls are icky' phase really. Heath left a lot of details about his past blank, but he couldn't imagine he had much experience with girls.

Of course there were probably better people to ask than Rogan. He didn't exactly consider himself a ladies man. How he had Artemis got together was just dumb luck and coincendent. But… well, who else was he going to talk to? Carnage and Savage? That was a hard pass. Victor? Harder pass. He sure as hell wasn't going to ask Drake about it. He guessed Alisha and Priss would be helpful, but he couldn't see Heath going to either of them either. Especially with Alisha being close with Drake.

Zuri… probably. They seemed cool with one another. But maybe he had just happened to get to him first.

Either way, he didn't see the harm in giving him a bit of advice. "Let's see… we mostly just talk about music, favorite movies, family stuff going on. Not sure how that's gonna work out for you though. Especially on that last one."

Heath grunted. Family stuff was definitely out. Both her parents were a super touchy subject. "Ask about other interests and stuff. What kind of things she likes doing, what she wants to be. Stuff like that," he explained. "If you really want to throw her for a loop, pull out her chair for her." Rogen would have killed to see that.

The younger boy scoffed. "Yeah right. Like she's gonna sit down anyway. She floats pretty much everyone." It was like she was a queen who thought her feet were too good to even touch the ground.

"Look, you want to impress her, right?"

"No, I don't," Heath said, crossing his arms. "This is all hypothetical, remember?"

"Really man?" Still?"

"I could care less about this whole thing. It just so happens your advice may make her slightly less annoying to deal with, so you know…"

Rogen grabbed the control pad from him, and then pressed a few buttons. The arm then moved and pointed towards him. "That is the lying finger. It points to you because you lie…" Rogen said as the hand wiggled it's finger. "Liar."

"Oh shut up!" Heath said, scowling. "What else am I supposed to talk about."

"Well, I heard you're mostly supposed to ask them about what they got going on, but you should probably talk about yourself too. Like what stuff you like to do. Or just hobbies and other crud like that."

Heath looked down in thought. "Huh… guess I could talk about snacks…" he muttered.

Rogen raised an eyebrow. "Snacks? Are you baking now?"

"I've been trying desserts and crud I've seen on anime and at conventions. That redheaded girl on your team Roxanne helps me sometimes when-"

"Don't mention Roxanne," Rogen said, cutting him off.

Heath looked at him surprised. "What?"

"Do not. Mention. Roxanne. Like ever. If you have no choice but to mention her, pretend like you forgot her name. Like it's not important or something. But never actually say it," he said holding his hand up. "This should be like, priority number one."

Heath narrowed his eyes. "What the hell are you on about dude?"

"Look man, I'm not some lady killer. So I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like I know every little thing about girls. But trust me, you mention Roxanne around her and that's asking for trouble."

Shen Mi was pretty… possessive, over Heath. She considered him her personal lacky, and she didn't even like other people ordering him around. So he was pretty sure if he ended up mentioning he hung out with Roxanne, it wouldn't end well.

Heath scratched his head. It sounded nuts, but thinking back he did think Shen Mi acted way more crazy whenever he mentioned Roxanne. At least until she ended up stealing whatever snack he'd brought back anyway. "Seriously… why are girls so confusing?" he asked, shaking his head.

"Women are a scary and mysterious breed Heath. And we're just not meant to understand them. The best we can do is try to navigate the minefield that is their minds," Rogen said.

Heath raised an eyebrow. "Really? Because Artemis doesn't seem all that complicated," he said bluntly. The girl was as laid back as could be from what he could tell. Blunt and right to the point.

"Oh, that's because I lucked out and have good taste in women. You picked a nutcase to fall for. So that's on you," Rogen said, smirking.

"I didn't fall for her!" Heath snapped. Though he did have to admit, dealing with Artemis sounded a hell of a lot easier than dealing with Shen Mi. As both a girlfriend and in general. "So like… what else would I do?"

"I can feed you some cliche garbage about being yourself or something like that, but I honestly don't think that's going to help you out in this situation. I guess… just try being less hostile?" he said shrugging his shoulders.

Heath snorted. "Being less hostile with her is like trying to be less hostile with a swarm of bees. Not really going to do much," he said.

"Yeah, but you're on a hypothetical date, remember?" he asked, smirking.

"I know, now shut up and get back to work," he said as he looked over his arm once more. He was pretty sure he got the general idea of this whole thing now.

Rogen looked back down towards the pad. "If you say so. Let's go ahead and get this done… have fun on your date. Hope she doesn't snap you out of existence or something," he muttered under his breath.

"I'm not going on a date!"

"Sure man."

Rogen tried and failed to fight back the smirk as Heath blushed and scowled. It was hard to resist teasing him. But he did hope it worked out. He knew how nerve wracking a 'date' could be. "Good luck."

"I don't need luck! There's no date! It was hypothetical!"
