Phoenix And Dragons Epilogue:

Previously on P&D: At the mention of 'MetalGreymon' the king clenched his fist so tight his knuckles were snow white. "Change of plans. At the Digigames we will slay every dirty dragon on sight!" MetalEtemon trembled nervously at the venom in his voice. "Yes my liege."

Two Days Later: Sora and Kari were in the palace gardens with Yoshi, Kristy, Calumon, and Takato chatting and saying their goodbyes waiting for the boys to arrive. "What is taking them we have to be back home in a weeks time so we can prepare for the DigiGames." Sora complained, her arms were crossed and she stamped her foot in annoyance. "They better not be having Tai drinking again!"

"Hey calm down." Yoshi soothed "I'm sure whatevers keeping them is important."

"It was." They turned and saw Tai, Takuya, and Marcus coming down the stairs serious expressions on their faces. "We'll tell you later so don't worry about it." Takuya added. "Don't forget okay Tai?" The boy in turn nodded his head and started walking towards the gate Sora and Kari slowly following. Takuya watched them leave. Tai, your plan could bring peace to this world. Just like the MetalGreymon of legend.

A Week Later: "Sora your safe!" Her mother almost crushed her as she squeezed her into a hug. "And look how much you've grown within these two months!" Her mother examined her wings and smiled with pride. Sora playfully rolled her eyes, the three teens had entered the palace gates only 5 minutes ago and here was her mother already on her.

"Whoa all three of you hit ultimate?" Everyone turned towards Davis as he, Ken, and Yolei walked towards them. "You gotta tell me the story on this." He then stopped when he looked at Tai. "Wait what are you?" He had never seen a hybrid like this before. Similar yes but not like this. Tai turned towards the younger boy and smiled at the reaction to his words.

"MetalGreymon." Davis looked confused while Ken, Yolei, and even Queen Takenouchi herself stopped what they were doing to look at him. Ken then grabbed one of his wings to inspect it like he was checking to see if would rip if he pulled. Tai then caught the queen looking at his scarf which was the remains of his cape when it ripped in half when his wings sprouted. The sun-like symbol from his egg was now imprinted on it.

"Y-You're not supposed to exist." Yolei whispered quietly but everyone heard her.

"What?" Tai asked.

"MetalGreymon, both the Digimon and the Hybrids are extinct and have been for about a 100 years now." Ken clarified. "Your probably the last of your kind, other than your parents that is." Tai's eyes widened and now he knew why Takuya and Marcus were so giddy that night. Being part Greymon themselves it felt like a family member was just born. "It's rumored that the Mountain Kingdom had something to do with it."

"Then I'm the last one." Tai dropped to his knees and stared at the ground. Was this why they attacked our home that night? Did they know about me and Dad? "Then its my fault. It's my fault their dead!" Everyone other than Kari was confused. She crouched next to him and cried into his shoulder. "I'm sorry Kari! If only I knew then maybe they wouldn't have attacked you and Mom!" He sobbed. Sora then caught on and kneeled on the other side of Tai and joined their hug slowly rubbing his back.

"Its alright Tai it wasn't your fault you didn't know." Kari said quietly her face still in his shoulder. "They knew, Mom and Dad knew which is why we lived so far away from others. They wanted to protect us Tai, us."

"She's right you know. They sacrificed themselves so you and Kari could live happy lives." Sora added softly. That's why the Dragon Kingdom acted the way it did. Their lost dragon had finally come home, that's why Takuya and Marcus were so happy it was like family coming back to them. Tai wiped his tears and gave them his trademark smile.

"Thanks guys." He then pulled them into a powerful hug thanking them for being there the whole journey and hoping they would for the others to come. smiled at the beautiful scene. They've grown so much in just so little time, I'm proud of you Sora. Finally opening up after all of the pain.

A Few Hours Later: "You died!" Davis cried out from the other side of the dinner table as Sora told them all about the events of their journey. Tai scratched the back of his neck and chuckled as he sat across from him.

"Yeah for like three seconds. Kari and Sora brought me back with Kari's new found powers and turned me into a Digiegg." Davis's jaw dropped. He then turned to Kari who was seated next to Tai.

"How?"

"From pieces of his hair, you see the move I used is a healing one so I grabbed the last bit of Tai's hair and transferred me and Sora's energy through it." The girl explained to the rest of them.

"Ohh that's how you did it." Tai summarized "Then thank you both for going so far just for me." Tai smiled. The Queen then raised her glass and tapped it with her spoon.

"Now, now, while I would love to hear the tale of your adventures as well as how you all digivolved, but now that Sora delivered my message to the other kingdoms, it is time to tell you all another tale. The tale of the Digigames."
