Annabeth's POV

Twins. I am having twins. That's all I can think about driving to the Blowfis household for dinner. Two human beings inside of me. Percy was bouncing in his seat. If he hadn't been driving he probably would have bounced through the roof. Because of this, we rode in silence. Me, thinking about how to logically approach the situation. I want to have a gender-neutral nursery, but I feel like a mythology theme would be to cliche for a demigod, even if it's a big part of our lives these kids will be our world. I don't even realize when we pull into a parking space at the apartment complex until Percy comes around and opens my door for me. His raven hair blowing in the wind, getting even messier. He is smiling down at me, causing me to smile right back at him. I grab his hand. So he will help me out of the car, but he pulls harder than expected and I fall into his chest. His scent envelopes me, and I look up at his face to see him smirking and leaning in for a kiss. I kick him in the shins. Not hard enough to incapacitate him, but enough to make him grimace. I sprint over to the sidewalk and give him the same smirk he gave me. He walks over,

"I'm gonna get you for that,"

"No you won't, you're too soft on me," Percy puts his hands up in surrender knowing I am right.

Sally had gotten to the apartment before us, so when we got to the apartment it already smells like cookies. This only made Percy more excited, which I didn't know was possible, but it was. He sprinted through the door leaving me in the living room to take off my jacket. All of a sudden something is grabbing my knees. My instincts kick in and I am about to pull off whatever it is when the restraint is released and a face looks up at me.

"Annabeth," Estelle yells jumping up and down, " Where's Percy,"

"Oh he's coming soon," I smile and watch as Percy sneaks up from behind her and picks her up. Estelle screams and Percy is laughing. It's a lovely sight to behold. When Percy sets Estelle down. She turns around to face him,

"That was not very nice," she says pouting. Percy goes pale.

"Oh, I am sorry Stell I just wanted to surprise you," Says getting on his knees, "Hug?"

Estelle obliges and Percy gives her a tight hug

"I missed you,"

"I missed you too." After that Estelle runs off somewhere to occupy herself, and I go and sit next Percy our backs against the couch.

"So what are we going to do with two children," Percy asks me going serious

"Love them to death," I say,

"Definitely," Percy lets out a quick laugh, " But Annabeth you have a full-time job and I have a business to run,"

"I will get maternity leave Percy, a few months for us to figure things out," I say, getting to the same level of seriousness he is on.

" Yeah, but what about when that's over," he sighs, " As much as I love our friends and camp I don't want to leave our kids alone with them for an extended period of time."

"I think you're just being clingy," I say with sarcasm seeping into my voice, "Calypso would be great with kids, and so would Piper and Hazel." Percy raises his eyebrows in agreement.

"And so would Frank, but they already have a toddler to deal with," he says. We had all been surprised to find out Hazel and Frank were the first to get pregnant. We all got married around the same time two years ago, but they had also announced their pregnancy a month before their wedding.

"True, though I know if we needed them they would be happy to help." I say, " we'll see them all on Saturday for the Party at camp, we can talk to all of them about helping us out." Percy and I sit there in silence for a while, my head on his shoulder, with his head resting on top of mine. We both know we will have to talk about our arrangements more, but for now, we will just revel in the happiness of having

"TWINS," the yell pulls me out of my thoughts. Paul is standing in the kitchen next to Sally, who is trying to hold a neutral face. Percy looks over to Paul and nods. He comes over and gives us both a hug.

"Congratulations," Paul pulls away smiling.

We sit down at the table eating delicious stir fry Sally made. And discussing names and some non-baby related things which makes me quite happy. Dinner is going well until a shimmering rainbow suddenly appears. Will and Piper's faces fill up space,

"You guys need to get to camp," Will says. Percy just looks kind of annoyed.

"Why do we need to get to camp," I ask, already knowing multiple possibilities. I hope the girl has woken up. Will opens his mouth to speak, but Piper but's in first,

"Because you Mrs. Perseus Jackson has a lot to do to get ready for Saturday." I was rarely called Mrs. Jackson except for at work and doctor appointments. To most of my friends, I was Annabeth Chase. A slight blush rose on my cheek and before I can say anything to Piper, Percy is telling them that we are busy and to leave us alone. He slashes through the rainbow and resumes eating. Sally gives him that disappointed mom look.

"What," he asks before shoving another forkful of food into his mouth.

"That was rude," Sally says

"Look, mom," Percy says in his sweetest voice, " Annabeth and I are there all the time whether I am teaching classes or she is watching over construction. We will be there tomorrow night and If something really important comes up we would be there tonight, but these days are days for us to be a happy couple without people at camp looking in on every detail."

That night on the drive back to Long Island Percy and I talk about why the two new half-bloods came so close together and what it may mean.

"Probably something the gods need doing," Percy says exasperated

"Yeah but, what we have dealt with the titans, the giants, Gaea,"

"Who knows, as long as we don't have to lead the quest I don't really care," we sit in silence for a little bit.

"Percy?"

"Hmm," he hums asking me to continue

"Are you okay you seem… out of it since will and piper called."

" Yeah, it's just kinda what I said to mom, I am tired of everyone at camp knowing everything about and always looking in on our business. Even our friends do it." I think about it for a second and realize how right he is. It makes sense for people to know our stories, I mean we did save the world

Twice

But that is what they are to so many people, stories. They see us as characters and what to continue to know about our lives and relationship.

"I just wish we could go somewhere where we could live our lives in peace, no monsters, no one wanting to know and already knowing everything about us." Percy continues

"While there is one place but it's on the other side of the country," I say. Percy pulls the car to the side of the road even though we are almost to the house. He turns to me and says,

"What if we moved to New Rome. we would still be able to see our friends, but the monster attacks could stop. I could go back to school and start a business in California."

"Percy, that's crazy our lives are here,"

" No Annabeth, our lives are with each other," I see tears building up in his eyes.

"What about your parents and Estelle," He hesitates for a second,

"BlackJack can fly across the country with the two of us on his back in 30 minutes,"

"What about when I am too pregnant to fly, you promised your mom she could be there when I give birth."

" then BlackJack can fly her out to California."

"Percy," I grab his hands and look him straight in the eye, " BlackJack can't do everything for you, and what about your siblings they need you here." Percy looks down

"I know Annabeth, it's just. When are we going to get to focus on us and our family alone."

"The people are our family," I say starting to get aggravated

"You know what I mean," he says I can tell he is losing it too.

" Percy they need us here,"

"That's exactly the problem Annabeth. They Rely on us. And what happens when one of us gets killed or injured so badly we can no longer fight for them." The tears are streaming down both our faces now. I turn and face the window. We Don't move or say anything for a while until Percy takes the car out of the park and continues driving up the road. I see our small farmhouse ahead as we drive up the long curving driveway.

When we reach the house I waste no time getting out of the car and into the house. I don't even realize Percy isn't following me until I hear the car start up again, and watch as it makes it's way back to the main road.
