Chapter 12 Weapon X
Korra sat next to Sean as he was still recovering from his self inflected injuries because Cinder made him worried of the future of his children and their children.
It's been 2 days since he started recovering and since Korra learned Energy bending From Aang allowing her to restore Lin's bending and the bending of the innocent while leaving the criminal side without theirs much to their anger and tried to force her to give it back.
Outcome?
Adler and the CIA hunted them down and eliminated most of the remaining gangs.
And of course the Equalist that followed Cinder were arrested or killed off which was a lot of people.
And Hiroshi was sent to jail who surrendered willingly after seeing the mistake he made of believing in Cinder. Asami was now in charge of his company.
Currently The united nations was helping to rebuild and upgrade Republic City to modern standards.
So for now she was waiting for him to wake up.
"I should have told you the truth from the beginning to stop this." Korra said holding his hand.
Thats when someone walked in.
"Avatar Korra?"
Korra turned and saw a man in military uniform with the rank of Colonel on his shoulder.
"Who are you?" Korra asked.
"My name is Colonel William Stryker. I was an old mentor of Sean's during his childhood." Stryker said. (X men Origins version)
"He never mentioned you." Korra said making him chuckle.
"Well, he had a lot of mentors it's hard to mention all of them." Stryker said looking at him. "It's no surprise Cinder used one last act to send him into a panic that drove him to this. The Future is always his first concern." Stryker said.
"Why are you here?" Korra asked.
"To offer a solution to wake him and and make sure this doesn't happen again." Stryker said making her look at him.
"What are you talking about?" Korra asked.
"My people have just developed something that can not only wake him up but also make him even stronger than he is now." Stryker said.
"So why come to me? Why not Irons since he's Sean's legal guardian?" Korra asked.
"Irons and I have some...Differences and he wouldn't even take the time to listen to me. And Shepherd right now is at a world security conference to discuss about searching the world for anything else Cinder and her brothers might have left behind. So naturally I came to you because of your...Current condition." Stryker said making her hold her stomach.
"What exactly do you plan to do?" Korra asked.
"Make him indestructible. The procedure will wake him up and improve him. It's unclear how long he'll be in this condition and I doubt you want your child to wait years before it's father wakes up." Stryker said making her frown before sighing.
"Where exactly do you need to take him?" Korra asked.
Later
Korra along with her friends and her parents were back at the States. in some facility as Sean was being strapped down to a small lift that would submerge his body in water for the procedure in a pair of black shorts.
"Korra I'm not so sure about this." Tenzin said.
"I'm not gonna wait months or even years for him to wake up. If this speeds it alongs and helps him out in the long run it's worth the risk." Korra said holding Sean's face.
"I hope you're right." Tenzin said going up a platform as Korra kissed Sean before a breathing mask was put on him before she followed Tenzin.
"So what exactly is this procedure?" Tonraq asked.
"Tell me this first what do you know about Cybernetics?" Stryker asked.
"Nothing really." Tonraq said.
"I know Sean said most Cybernetics are completely different from one another depending on what they are." Korra said.
"Thats correct. Each of them have different sets of metals added to them to help with those adjustments and enhancements." Stryker said.
"What does that have to do with this?" Tenzin asked.
"This procedure involves every rare metal known on Earth and combined into one. Metals such as Adamantium, Vibranium And various others including a liquid synthetic version of diamond which is one of the hardest materials on Earth. We call it Unobtanium. And we're gonna bond it Sean's skeleton." Stryker said.
"That sounds like it would hurt him." Asami said.
"It will. Possibly more painful than anything Cinder and her brothers put him through in the past. But I have faith this will not only make him indestructible but also wake him." Stryker said making Korra frown.
"If he's lucky." Agent Zero said making Korra glare.
"You'll have to excuse him. He and Sean don't exactly have the best history." Stryker said.
"Just keep his mouth shut." Korra said making Zero scoff.
"Lets begin." Stryker said as Sean's body was slowly submerged into the water before it stopped before drills turned on with the tips becoming red hot before also submerging before nearing the injection spots.
Korra took a deep breath.
"Please be ok." Korra whispered before they went in and Sean's body started to thrash around slowly.
"Why is he thrashing?" Tenzin asked.
"The pain. I told you it would be worse than anything Cinder and her brothers put him through. This will help him wake up." Stryker said.
"Heart rate is rapidly increasing."
"Will he survive this?" Tonraq asked as Korra looked worried.
"I have faith he will." Stryker said.
Sean's mind began to flash images of the events leading up this moment from the day his parents were killed to the battles he did in the military to the war Amon started.
Korra was getting more and more worried as Sean's heart rate increased dangerously.
Sean then saw the images of him and Korra over the last couple months.
"I love you." Korra said in the memory.
Thats when his heart rate suddenly stopped after the Unobtanium was fully injected into him.
Korra had a look of horror on her face before she started sobbing as her father held her.
"Well, I guess he can die." Zero said.
Stryker sighed at this as he looked away.
Thats when the heart monitor started beeping again making everyone look as Sean's heart Rate started to increase to normal levels.
"Heart Rate back to normal levels."
"Unobtanium reservoir is completely depleted."
"We did it." Stryker said before slamming his hands on a table. "Yeah! Yes." Stryker said.
"Now." Zero said before aiming at Korra and the others as did the other armed men shocking them.
"What is this?" Tonraq asked.
"You didn't think we seriously wanted to help him did you?" Zero asked.
"You lied to me. You were never a mentor of his." Korra said glaring at him.
"Oh no I was. We just had a falling out a few years back since he didn't agree with certain methods of mine. I believe the Avatars are the key to completely destroying this country's enemies. And now he's virtually unstoppable. All I need to do now is erase his memories and I can get started on that." Stryker said making Tonraq place her behind him as she held her stomach. "Oh don't worry. We have no intentions of killing your baby. We're just gonna wait till you give birth and then put it through the same procedure and train it." Stryker said shocking her.
Sean however widened his eyes before trying to get free which everyone noticed before his bone claws came out now covered in shiny metal.
"I think he heard you." Zero said concerned.
Sean growled as he freed himself before coming out of the water.
"RAAAAAAAAAAARGH!" Sean roared in rage.
Zero was quick to shoot him in the head but it bounced off just cutting the skin before it grew back and growled at him.
"STRYKER!" Sean roared before armed men came at him before he dashed at them with quick speeds and cut them to pieces as they screamed in pain and horror.
"LOCKDOWN!" Stryker yelled before the body of one of his men was thrown at him making him fall down hard before Sean jumped up to Zero who tried to shoot him but he just shrugged off the bullets before roaring as he stabbed him in the chest making him gasp in shock as he started gurgling blood before Sean slashed his throat
Korra was quick to rush to him pulling him into a hug as she cried into his chest making him sigh holding her close.
"It's ok." Sean said before glaring at Stryker who backed away before Sean approached him.
"Now Kruger...Let's not be hasty. I was only doing what I thought was best." Stryker said.
"You have been telling me that lie for years. Everything you do is for you alone. You wiped out an entire village 4 years ago to get that Adamantium deposit. A year later did the same thing to a local town for the Vibranium under it. And now this." Sean said showing his metal claws.
"Sacrifices have to be made for this country." Stryker said.
"You have a single track mind. Your one of the only very small few who just thinks about the country alone and not the world like I do. I was taught by better people to think about those outside the country." Sean said.
"Now lets not..." Stryker tried to say.
"Enough with your words." Sean said before he was engulfed in white flames as his skin began to burn off as he entered the Ghost Rider state showing his now metal skeleton and roared at him before grabbing him.
"Look into my eyes. Your soul is stained by the blood of the innocent. Feel they're pain!" Sean roared making Stryker scream as those he killed over the years came at him with a vengeance before his body burned just As Sean turned human and collapsed to his knees as Korra rushed to him.
"Ugh. The hell did they put in me?" Sean asked.
"We'll explain later. Let's just get you home." Korra said helping him up.
"Korra?" Sean said stopping her. "I am so sorry for what I put you through. I didn't know." Sean said looking at her stomach surprising her.
"How did you..." Korra tried to ask.
"You weren't the only one who had a talk with my father. I saw everything." Sean said.
"Lets just get out of here." Korra said as they left.
Later
Shepherd sent his men to seize and destroy everything Stryker left behind not wanting anyone to follow in his footsteps.
So everyone was back in San Fransisco to recover.
Korra right now was the docks looking at the ocean.
"Korra?" Sean said getting her attention as he walked to her. "I am so sorry." Sean said.
"Why would you do that?" Korra asked looking away from him making him sigh.
"I panicked. I thought maybe Cinder was telling the Truth before I learned what really happened to her and my uncles. I couldn't bare the thought of another generation going through what I did. So in a dumb moment of judgment...I did what I did." Sean said ashamed.
"Didn't I matter at all or what I thought?" Korra asked.
"Of course you did. I made one stupid choice and I regretted it once I learned she lied to me again. Then I learned you were pregnant and decided to live for both of you. No words can show how Sorry I am for what I put you through." Sean said before she held his face and kissed him as he held her close. "I'm sorry." Sean said as she cried into his chest.
"Sean I can easily forgive you for what happened since I understand Cinder scared you when she said that. But how am I ever supposed to trust you again?" Korra asked making him sigh.
"Well...One thing comes to mind. If you'll close your eyes." Sean said confusing her. "Humor me." Sean said making her do so. "Ever since we met you slowly started helping me regain my faith in humanity. Brought out the best in me that not even every Mentor I had in every field could do. And the moment we started dating I enjoyed every last second." Sean said making her smile lightly. "I can't imagine now my life without you in it. So...Theres only one thing I can do." Sean said.
"And whats that?" Korra asked.
"Open your eyes and find out." Sean said making her do so.
Only to gasp in shock seeing an engagement necklace with her family's symbol on it. (The symbol of Naga's riding Gear and Tonraq's parka incase people don't know)
"Sean...I..." Korra tried to say but anything she tried to say froze in her mouth.
"Korra...Will you marry me?" Sean asked making her eyes tear up before pulling him into a kiss.
"Yes." Korra cried out as she held him close as she wanted to savor this moment for as long as she could. "Wait how did you know about how my people propose?" Korra asked making him smirk.
"I do my research. And before you ask yes I asked your father before I came here. He made it rather clear I'm not seeing that kid until your last name is Kruger." Sean said making her snicker but liked the sound of it.
Sean put it around her neck before she touched it.
"Well?" Sean asked.
"It's perfect." Korra said as she held him close. "I love you." Korra said.
"I love you too." Sean said kissing her forehead.
Later
Most of the group was at Sean's home celebrating the engagement.
"You don't seem nervous about your little unplanned pregnancy." Asami said making Korra smile holding her stomach.
"Just because the baby was unplanned doesn't mean it's a mistake. Some things are meant to happen for a reason." Korra said making her smile.
"Ah goddamnit Joker!" Sean yelled making them look seeing Joker with a gas can about to spill some into the huge bonfire.
"Hey this deserves a big fire for a celebration like this kid." Joker said.
"Oh lord." Sean said.
"This isn't gonna end well." Woods said as Joker dumped it in before some of it caught on fire.
"OH SHIT!" Mason yelled throwing it down and some of it got on Sean.
"AHHH!" Sean yelled annoyed trying to put it out since it was on his pants.
"OH SHIT! OH SHIT! GET IN THE POOL!" Will yelled as Sean dived in as everyone laughed as he came up and glared at Joker who chuckled.
"I knew this wasn't gonna end well." Woods said.
"My pants are fucking burned." Sean said coming out showing the holes in his pants making everyone laugh. "I fucking hate you Joker so much right now." Sean said going inside to get changed while his fiancé laughed her ass off.
"Well, now I know the meaning of the term fire crotch." Korra said making everyone burst out laughing.
"That is not even remotely what that means." Sean said getting new pants on before pushing Joker into the pool making him cough up water. "Dumbass." Sean said.
"I get the feeling this kid is gonna enjoy life in this family." Korra said holding her stomach as Sean sat next to her.
"I know I certainly am right now." Sean said kissing her making her smile.
Authors Note: And with that now Sean and Korra are engaged and expecting. Now reason I did this unplanned and sudden pregnancy is because one I never really do that or very early so I decided to do that and it also gives the bad guys to try and use that against them.
