SAM WILSON: Well, we did it.
BRUCE WAYNE: Yes we did.
SONIC: After 5 long years, we succeeded in doing what we said we were gonna do.
BRUCE WAYNE: We brought everyone back.
SAM WILSON: That we did.
SONIC: So Sam, how's it feel to be the new Captain America?
SAM WILSON: Weird.
BRUCE WAYNE: You earned it though.
?: That is true.
[The three heroes turn around to see the Monitor standing behind them.]
SONIC: What the hell?
THE MONITOR: I must congratulate you Sam Wilson.
SAM WILSON: I'm sorry who the hell are you?
BRUCE WAYNE: Wait, Tony told us about you some time ago. You're The Monitor.
THE MONITOR: That is correct.
SONIC: Wait, wait. The Monitor? Weren't you the one who warned us about some incoming crisis? Well I guess we won that crisis Huh?
THE MONITOR: This was not the crisis I foretold.
SAM WILSON: What?
SONIC: Who could be an even bigger threat than Thanos?
THE MONITOR: One that will wipe out the entire Multiverse. I foresaw these events, and everything went exactly as it needed to.
BRUCE WAYNE: Wait. You knew thatThanos would wipe out half of existence? About Tony's death. And you chose not to do anything?
THE MONITOR: I could not interfere. Otherwise it would have shifted the outcome of the coming crisis.
SONIC: And what outcome is that?
THE MONITOR: Victory. But at a cost.
SAM WILSON: What cost is that?
THE MONITOR: In order for the multiverse to survive. In this crisis, the three of you…. MUST DIE.
