A/N: Hey!
All mistakes are my own.
Instead of waking up and having another glorious round of sex with Ana, he was met with his son's eyes.
The boy looked both gleeful and sinister and that disturbed him. Christian held his finger up to make Teddy be quiet and the boy quickly nodded. When they were out of Ana's room, Christian was surprised to see his little son take his hand.
"Daddy, we need to have some pancakes. Plus, Ana said I need to eat breakfast every day so I'll grow big and strong," he added as an afterthought. Christian could only stare at his son in amazement. Last month, he couldn't even get Teddy to stay in the same room as him without him throwing a fit. Now he wanted to hold his hand and talk to him.
"Um, yeah," he said when Teddy paused at the foot of the stairs and stared up at him as if he were dim-witted.
"Jason thinks my house is so cool. He said that he likes the quiet. But I don't know. Anyway, are you coming daddy?"
Christian continued to stare at Teddy as he hoisted himself on the chair and Gail tsked at him as she slid over his plate of breakfast. He looked at her sheepishly. Christian wondered what that was about. Gail, sensing his confusion answered.
"Teddy here knows to not climb up without some help. The last time he tried a run and jump when he fell on the floor. Ana warned him not to do it but he did anyway. They now have a standing rule that he gets assisted on the chairs near the kitchen."
Christian raised a brow before nodding.
"Thanks for enlightening me."
"Anytime," Gail said winking at him. Christian sighed in exasperation. It seemed his staff took great delight in the fact that Ana knew more of what was going on in his house than he did.
"Where is Ana by the way?" Gail asked. Before he could answer Teddy spoke.
"I went to wake Ana but daddy was in bed with her. He told me to be quiet so I brought him down for pancakes. And daddy, you didn't answer my question. Are you coming?" he asked all in one breath. Christian glanced at Gail who smirked before turning her head back to the stove. Christian had no doubt that by noon everyone would know he slept with Ana courtesy of Teddy.
"Would you like some breakfast, Mr. Grey?" She asked.
"Why not," he muttered. Sliding into the chair beside his son, Christian watched as the boy voraciously tore into his pancakes as if he wasn't fed last night.
"Are you coming?" he asked syrup dripping on his chin.
"Where Teddy?" Christian asked as he gently wiped his chin. Teddy grinned at him.
"To my piano recital. Ana said that I shouldn't be nervous because I'm a pro-prodi-prod-"
"Prodigy," Gail helpfully answered.
"Yeah, that."
"When is it?" Christian asked.
"This Thursday. Ana said that I can play whatever I want. I want to play the one the lady with black hair showed me."
Christian racked his brain trying to remember what the woman showed him. Gail helped him again.
"I think it's a great thing. You want to play moonlight sonata," she said before reaching over and ruffling his hair. Christian's eyes widened in shock.
"Isn't that a little advanced?" Christian asked Gail. Before she could answer Ana answered.
"Of course not. My Teddy can do anything. Right?" she asked before leaning over and kissing his cheek. He grinned at her and shouted, "Yeah!" Christian chuckled and gazed at Ana heatedly. She blushed before saying good morning.
"Good morning," he replied back. Ana bit her lip but she was unable to hide her smile.
"I woke up and-"
"Teddy came and got me. Demanded that we needed breakfast. Something you said about him needing to be big and strong?" he asked a smile on his lips.
"Um, yes." She glanced over at Gail who made no attempt to hide her interest in the two of them.
"Um, Christian, would it be possible that we talk?"
Christian could see the seriousness in her gaze and stood before walking in front of her.
"Okay, how about-"
"Now. We need to speak now." Ana turned to Gail. "Hey, Gail? Can you watch Teddy? Christian and I have to speak."
"Sure, Ana. No problem."
Ana grabbed Christian's hand and took him to his office.
Christian looked at Ana as if she's grown another head. She just relayed everything that happened to her last night before he came home. Ana came clean about everything. About Leila, about the children, about his brother's child, and how Teddy had a brother who was also his cousin and who was in fact killed by his psychotic brother. The fact that Jack was his brother, and apparently Carrick had no clue was what sent him into a catatonic state.
"Leila was hovering outside like some ghost and of course with me being a seer and a guardian she can no longer come in, but how is she-"
"She's dead, Ana. She died a year ago. I knew she left yes, but her father sent the autopsy report. She was driving a car, and there was someone else, but no one ever knew who the guy was. Now we know it's Jack," Ana finished quietly. Christian ran a hand over his face and breathed harshly.
"I know it's wrong but I hate Leila. I don't know why she had to sleep with Jack. Knowing her, she probably found out Jack was my brother and to spite me decided to sleep with him." Christian glanced up at Ana and saw her frowning.
"Um, I know you guys broke up-"
Christian barked out a laugh.
"Anastasia she was absolutely horrible. Truly. I was going to marry her but now looking back on it, I felt that it was a good thing she ran. More than anything, Leila was intimidated by my family. But they were always kind to her. Honestly Ana, there were days when she would be completely out of control. It wasn't until later I realized she had a mental illness and I wished I could've done something to help her."
"That isn't something you should be responsible for Christian," Ana said. Christian shook his head.
"I am Alpha of the largest pack on the east coast. I should have been able to sense this. Why couldn't I?" Christian said aloud.
Ana was slow to speak, but it sounded as if Leila had him under some type of spell. Christian paused and tilted his head. He could sense Ana knew something.
"You know something?" he asked her. Ana shrugged before looking away.
"I mean, I don't-"
"Ana," he said as a warning. Ana turned to him. "Leila could have chosen a spell to put you under. A glamour so to speak. She wanted you, she knew that she couldn't outright get you so she probably consulted the dark arts."
Christian's eyes widened in shock. Before he could deny it, Ana spoke quietly.
"Christian, honestly answer me. What is it exactly that drew you to Leila?" Christian paused thinking about his question. He found that he couldn't answer that.
"I don't know. When I met her, everything was a bit of a haze. I didn't-" Suddenly Christian's eyes widened.
"I felt s prick or something while at a pack event, before it all went hazy. Do you think-"
"Yes. She had something to do with it."
Christian's hands were on his waist. He was angry, bitter, insulted, and violated.
"I think Jack saw her connection to you and used her to get to you. He's jealous and bitter. You got the life that he didn't have. That is what I see," Ana said. Christian's nostrils flared.
"Brother or not, I want his head on a stick. He went too far. He killed a child, Ana."
"I know."
"I need to talk to my Carrick and Elliott. The family even."
"I understand."
"And you're going to have to come with me. They need to know what you are and-"
"Um, Christian I cannot publicize my true identity. Not until my father has shown up." Christian looks into her eyes and can see nothing but the truth.
"Very well. I will wait to reveal you're true nature to everyone. For now, I will just speak with my brother and father about the incident. He can tell my mother. We will plan from there. When is your father coming?" he asked. Ana answered.
"The day after tomorrow. You'll be at work when he arrives," she answered with a far off expression. Christian was amazed at how well she was able to use her ability. As if she didn't have to force it.
"Ana, I-"
They were interrupted by Teddy banging on his office door.
"Daddy? Ana? Jason is here!"
Ana laughed before standing on her toes to kiss his cheek.
"We will talk again soon."
"I know," he said offering a smile. Before Ana left he spoke.
"Oh, and Ana? I'd really like a repeat of what happened last night. Soon."
She blushed before nodding.
"I'd like that too," she said before disappearing out of the room.
Things are turning up! Let me know what you think! I will update Reckless later in the week.
