Thanks to browneyedgirl41 for suggesting the name Sakura. I think it's adorable and I love the whole nod to Marinette part of it. Actually, it gave me the idea for Blossom, and Blossom Couffaine just sounds precious. I also like the name Melodie and Uta(thanks xSapphirexRosesxFanx) but Melody is the name of the Lukagami child in my other fic so I can't do that one. But Blossom, Sakura, or Uta, somehow I'll decide. That's the one thing about Adrinette pregnancy fanfictions is you can't play with names since there are canon ones. But I still love the names, Hugo, Emma, and Louis.

As for godparents, ya Alya has dibs lol. The next chapter will incorporate Alya so you can look forward to that!

Chapter Twelve

Liar Tells The Truth

She didn't mean it. She's nothing but a liar. A cold-hearted liar. What she said about you and Hugo... it... it isn't... true.

She tried to gulp down the comments that shouldn't have affected her. I mean, they weren't true. Just lies... right? But that was she couldn't decide. Could what the liar had said be the truth? For once, had Lila, told the truth?

What am I thinking!? She's just a liar. Nothing but a dirtied mouth liar. She was just blabbing on to make you angry, she won't... make me... angry.

Sighing, trying to push away the comments the liar had made toward her and her baby, Marinette pushed the door to the bakery open. The bell dinged quietly and light chatter from customers filled the small room. The smell of freshly baked pastries made her feel ever so slightly better, but the comments wouldn't leave her brains.

"You good Marinette?"

Marinette turned up, dodging one of the customers as she filed out of the shop. The teen nodded, walking behind the counter in a daze."Ya, ya I'm good,"

"You sure?" Kagami asked, pushing the few dollars into the cash register.

Marinette frowned, shaking her head. She couldn't lie, that would make her as bad as Lila, the one who brought the mind war upon her."No," she said, placing her hands in the pockets of her coat.

Looking around, the bakery was empty and she couldn't spot anyone entering."Want to talk about it?" Hesitantly, Marinette nodded, walking behind the counter." So what exactly happened?" she asked, sorting through the tip jar.

Lila, that's what fucken happened, she thought through a mental hiss." Do you know Lila?" she asked, pretty sure Kagami had been acquainted with her.

Sternly, she nodded."Sadly. What did she do?"

"Nothing," Marinette said which was true. Lila had done nothing to her. She wasn't hurt in any way, well physically." She just, said some stuff," the designer fell silent, wanting to forget the quiet mumbles of pure truth."I don't know why it's bothering me so much,"

"Marinette," Kagami said in a stern but caring tone."What did she say?"

Marinette looked at her for a moment, before looking down at the ground again, trying to avoid the view of her stomach." Kagami do you consider the twins a mistake?" she asked. Normally, she wouldn't ask that. She knew unlike her, Kagami still felt little connection to either, but her mouth dragged on before she could think over her own words.

The fencer was surprised b the question and couldn't help but take a step back." I don't know. I guess they are but," she paused."What did she say?" she asked, receiving no response." Marinette, what did she say?"

"She said," Marinette began quietly, shaking her head." She said that he'd be unloved and was nothing more than our mistake. That he wouldn't be long and we'd never truly care for him," reciting the words the liar had said as she passed by hurt the teen deeply. She didn't want it to be true and knew it wasn't but in some ways it was. As Kagami had said, technically he was a mistake, never meant to be born, but that didn't mean she and Adrien would love him less.

"I don't know why it hurt so much," Marinette continued, holding herself awkwardly."I mean, of course, we love him and it shouldn't hurt but,"

"Marinette she's a bitch," Kagami stated quite plainly." And what she said was wrong. Ya, technically neither of our kids were planned but that doesn't mean you don't care about him," she said assuringly.

Marinette nodded, confused on why it still hurt so much."It's just not fair,"

"What?" she asked quietly, bagging a few macrons for a customer, exchanging them for three dollars.

"Lila, she's just the biggest liar," Marinette exclaimed, pacing around the kitchen."I mean, she's the biggest liar I've ever met but no one notices? Like, come on. Who knows Steven Spielburg, J.K Rowling, and Jagged Stone?"

"Not sure, but if she's such a liar then why not tell the others?" she asked, slipping the three dollars into the cash register that let out a quiet ding in response.

"Adrien says not too, that it's not worth the time," she said, continuing to pace.

Kagami sighed."He's not the boss of you,"

"I know but even if I wanted to, no one would believe me. She's like a witch with everyone under her goddamn spell." I should throw some water at her, the superhero thought, the idea tempting her greatly. That'll get rid of her for good.

"Either way, remember that whatever she says, is nothing near the truth," Kagami stated, tucking her short hair behind her ear that Marinette had recently convinced her to get pierced - not that she wore earrings often, jewelry wasn't necessarily her thing.

Marinette smiled, feeling the pain Lila had caused seeping away." Since when did you get so good at pep talks?" she asked, used to Kagami being more of the quiet type but not in a shy way.

With a quiet laugh, she shrugged, taking a moment to breathe once the customer had swiftly left."Living with Luka and Anarka, you're bound to pick some stuff up,"

"Mhmm," she hummed, always enjoying Anarka's company whenever she'd gone over their house. The woman was eccentric, yes, but always caring and no matter who you were, she managed to make the Liberty feel like a second home."Thanks," Marinette said, relieved to be feeling better. Being akumatized was the last thing she needed right then.

"Don't thank me," she said."I need to thank you and your parents for letting me work here."

"Please, my mom always likes the extra help and she's a definite fan of you," Marinette stated assuringly, and from that, an idea popped in her head."OH!" she exclaimed gleefully," Thanks Kagami, see you later!" she shouted, rushing up the stairs.

"See you later," she said with her eyebrows raised, She really is weird.

Nearly falling along the way, Marinette sighed, easily out of breath by the time she reached her bedroom. The designer sat herself down in her chair, pulling all of her fabrics out as if her life depended on it."Marinette what's wrong?" Tiki asked, slightly concerned by her owner's sudden burst of energy.

"Nothing," Marinette chimed, satisfied with a baby blue colored fabric."I'm just going to show that Lila, that love is nothing but what I have for my son,"

Tiki smiled, proud of her owner but still confused about what she was doing." You aren't going to confront her again?"

"No need to worry my Tiki," Marinette said, reaching across her desk for the pencil she used when marking fabric. Satisfied with her sketch, she slowly began to cut against the lines she marked with care.

Fluttering down to her owner's desk, Tiki observed the making of something."What are you making then?" she asked, staring up at the blue-eyed girl.

Marinette grinned, selecting pins from her pincushion and slowly inserting them into her fabric."Baby clothes." she answered, quickly inserting multiple pins.

Though the idea of cute baby clothes had the kwami awwing, she couldn't help but question why."How does that help with Lila?"

"It doesn't," Marinette said simply."As Kagami said, she's simply a bitch and like Alya says, we good people have to take the high road. So what am I doing? Taking the high road." Running blue thread through her machine, she quickly passed the fabric through, creating the first side seam of the onesie.

Tiki practically squealed, zipping around her owner's head."I'm proud of you Marinette."

"Thanks, Tiki. Sure Lila will bug me in the future, but she won't bug me about my little bug," the designer stated with her head held high. By the end of the hour, she had one baby blue colored onesie completed and had moved on to the embroidering faze. Lied down on her roof, phone playing different beats, she took her time embroidering the piece.

"What are you doing princess," Chat asked, sitting down beside her.

Looking up, Marinette was surprised to see that the sun was beginning to set. Time really does pass when you're sewing. She smiled leaning her head on Adrien's shoulder."Just trying to ignore the words of a liar."

A frown crossed his face. Having had a modeling gig, he hadn't been at school that day, better yet be there to protect his bugaboo and baby bug."What did she say?" he asked, ready to jump out and 'talk' to the liar.

"Don't worry about it kitty," she said, setting her needle down and holding the onesie up."But what she said, became this,"

The light baby blue colored onesie appeared professionally made. In a dark blue thread in cursive writing, she embroidered the phrase: Hero in Training.

"Bug this is adorable," he exclaimed,d gently taking the onesie from her."He's not getting a miraculous," Adrien stated sternly.

Marinette giggled."Don't worry, I wasn't planning on it," she said leaning against him. His hand almost immediately reached down for her swollen stomach. At the feeling, Marinette knew that their little Hugo would be loved like no other.

"Are you sure Ms. Rossi?" Gabriel asked, staring down the portrait of his wife.

From behind, Lila nodded."I am certain, sir,"

Great, that was all he could think."I would like to thank you again, Ms. Rossi, though I do expect more evidence to support the claim Marinette Dupain-Cheng is in fact, Ladybug,"

"Yes, of course, sir," the grinning liar said.

"Do you have any leads into who Chat Noir is?"

Lila shook her head."No, but I have a few guesses."

"Okay, thank you. You are dismissed," Gabriel said but the teen remained. Spotting her, he sighed."What is it you want,"

Lila smiled."Before it was money, but as long as you go through with your plan and Marinette Dupain-Cheng suffers, I'm plenty happy."

Gabriel thought this over. Either way, the child would die, so all he had to do was complete his plan."It's a deal,"
