Fighting Back
(Hello! This is where Luna's "looniness" is explained. I have now got the plot for the next few chapters sorted out, thanks for waiting and see you next week!)
Equivalent of Luna Lovegood
Prediction
"Sirius, I know you hate him, but he could be a great ally. Think about it. Even though he is kind of... rude, how many others do we have who are proficient in potions and inventing spells? None. Please, grow up! Don't you think that is you for knowingly sent into a trap to meet a transformedwerewolf defenceless, would you hate the person who sent you? I think so."
"But, Remus..."
"Siri, please! He made me that Wolfsbane potion every month, made it perfectly, so that I did not have to suffer as I usually do at the full moon. He did this even though we basically bullied him all through school, just for being a Slytherin. And I would probably have killed him if not for James. What has he ever done to you?"
"He's a Slytherin!"
"Slytherin! Sirius, please take a step back and look. That is not rational."
"Yes, but Slytherins are evil, Remus -"
"Was your Uncle Alphard evil? Was your Aunt Cedrella evil? How about Dorea and Andromeda? They were all in Slytherin. Are they all evil? Did you know that Harry was almost a Slytherin. Did you know Harry's a Parseltongue? Does that make him evil as well?"
"But he picks on Harry and all the Gryffindors for no reason!"
"Sirius, you know that he has to keep up appearances, plus he doesn't have any friends or family, and... I'm not sure, but I think..."
The conversation dropped from rather loud talking to a whisper. Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny, in the next room, had heard it through Extendable Ears. Suddenly, a loud voice reached their ears from three floors down.
"Children, go to bed now, you've got to get up early tomorrow to catch the Express!"
On the train, Harry and Ginny sat with Neville and a girl called Luna Lovegood. After Ron and Hermione came back from their prefect duties, Luna surprisingly said,
"You have that air about you, like Robin Hood, you know."
Harry, Hermione, Ginny and Ron exchanged glances. "Luna, how did you know that?"
"Oh, a little birdie told me. I heard about your incident with that hang – glider, when you were younger Ronald."
"Err... Luna, how?"
"I've never told anyone this before, you know. But I know I can trust you. Neville too. And three more of your brothers, Ginny, and Stubby Boardman, and a few others too. Here's my secret. I have the Sight." Throughout the speck her dreaminess had faded a little and she now looked somewhat lucid.
No one said anything for a while.
"What are you talking about?" asked Neville.
A whispered conversation later, in which they debated the trustworthiness of the two. They decided to take a gamble, because Hermione had mastered Obliviate. After they had given the nerds to Neville, he was speechless for a little, then started laughing. He cackled and wiped his eyes.
"Can I join?"
They were quick to agree. Harry had a thought.
"Neville, we have to tell you something. You need to trust us. Ok?"
"Ok..."
"Sirius Black is innocent."
Neville didn't seem very surprised. "The story fits, you know. When you are someone up, there's got to be more than just a finger."
Soon enough, they pulled up at the school. Harry was happy. Although Hogwarts was competing now for the title of "Home", In his heart he still loved it very much.
