The next morning, Kiki was still in disbelief about the night before. She still could not believe she actually told him she had feelings for him. She squealed as she hugged him about a hundred or so times in one night. Surprisingly, the little guy didn't mind at all!
She got up out of bed, giving him a pat and what she called her special daily "morning hug." She loved him so much and she meant it. As soon as she washed, got dressed, and had breakfast, she said, "I'm sorry, Wheats, but I have to go to the store real quick. I'll be back very soon. Okay, sweetie?"
"Okay." He blurted out.
"Good." She picked him up and gave him one last hug and kiss before she left.
Although he knew she would return shortly, he kinda felt sad. He already missed her and wanted her back. What if she dies? What if something happens to her? Oh no, nonononono! He thought.
He felt relieved when he heard the door unlock and saw a familiar face. However, good Kiki could sense he looked as if he was going to cry, despite being physically unable to cry.
"What's wrong, sweetie? Why do you look sad? Don't deny it either. I can sense it."
He finally admitted, "I was, uhh, sad, that you, uhhh, left to go to the store. I was, well, worried that you would die or something."
She replied, "Awwww, I don't want you to be sad. Can I show you something?"
He just said "Yes," so she picked him up and carried him in her loving arms to her room.
"I have a surprise for you." Kiki said with a tone in her voice that was so sweet it made all sweets taste sour!
She rummaged through her storage bin and finally found what she was looking for: a light blue blanket she had had since she was just a tiny baby.
She handed it to him and said "Here." She wrapped him in it and held him so lovingly as she always did.
"Next time I'm not here and you miss me, just feel that softness around you and imagine it's me cuddling you ever so sweetly." She then patted him, and gave him a hug; she then kissed him. She wanted him to always know she loved him no matter what and that she was a very sweet young lady. He seemed to really enjoy the blanket. Perhaps he even thought of the sweet young lady he befriended. They got along so well.
