Iron Man: I'm Iron Man. But you already knew that. Ezekiel Stane dropped by in knockoff armor in an attempt to kill me to avenge his dad. His revenge scheme didn't work out, but it might've helped me in the long run. Found out his armor used Chronoan technology based off the Armor of Kako, which the Syndicate now has. When I'm done analyzing his armor, I'll be able to track down the Kako Armor and take it from wherever the Syndicate has it in storage.

Training Room, Avengers Tower

BGM-Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds OST-Theme of Wolverine

In the training room, Wolverine observes a sparring match between Spider-Man and Ruby. Spidey trains himself wielding the Chronoblade as he clashes against Ruby's war scythe. Both Avengers are evenly matched until Ruby delivers a swift spin attack that Spidey backflips away from while quipping, "Miss me, miss me! Now you eat my sword beams!" Spidey swings his sword in rapid succession in midair, launching crescent sword beams at the huntress.

"No thanks. Just ate." quips Ruby, dodging the sword beams.

"When did you get so quippy?" Spidey joked.

Ruby uses her Semblance to dodge the remaining sword beams and flies towards Peter's side, swiftly changing her war scythe to a regular scythe as she smirkingly quips, "When I became your sister-in-law." before attacking with a powerful scythe swing that smashes Peter to a wall.

"Less quips, more trainin'!" Wolverine scolded the siblings.

"You're just eager to kick my butt next. Ain't happenin'." quips Spidey, using the Chronoblade's powers to warp in front of Ruby and knock her away with a quick strike of the sword. Ruby manages to reorient herself in midair and skid backwards on the ground until she stops. She then uses her Semblance to perform her own Spin Dash and rockets towards Spidey. The webhead dodges her attack, but she bounces off the wall to surprise him with a strike, then bounces off the wall again as she switches to her gun mode and rapidly shoots down at Peter from above. Peter backflips away from her shots, but that's what Ruby wanted as she swiftly switches to her scythe mode and recoils herself towards Peter, then uses her Semblance to maximize her speed to bypass his Spider-Sense.

"Speed up!" Spidey quickly shouts after deducing Ruby's ploy. Mere seconds before Ruby's attack reaches him, Spidey uses the Chronoblade to increase his speed to help him duck under her slash. "Too slow!" He quips while backflip kicking Ruby to the ceiling, and when she comes down, he says, "Game over!" and launches a lightning-fast combo of sword slashes to send her flying to the wall.

BGM End

A holo-display pops up in front of Wolverine as he looks at their Aura strength, which displays Ruby's Aura has dropped to the red. "Petal's Aura dropped to 16%. Not bad. It's only a matter of time 'til you master that sword." Logan proclaimed.

"I'll say." quips Ruby, smiling as Peter kindly helps her to her feet.

"We need you to master that blade if we want to defeat the Syndicate. They already have the Armor of Kako and Mephiles on their side." Wolverine said to Peter.

"You think they freed Mephiles from the Scepter of Darkness?" Peter asked.

Logan replies, "Most likely. It and these Treasures are just one big experiment to revive Chronoa. There's still much we don't know about that thing, or what it's capable of. All we know that it's the brain of Solaris, so we can't underestimate it if the Syndicate are taking advantage of its time knowledge."

"We'll be careful. I hear Iron Man and Tails are working on new weapons that'll make it easier to stop them. They're not done yet, but hopefully before the Syndicate could launch their next attack. We have two of the three Treasures. Sooner or later, they'll be coming for them." Ruby replied.

"Unless we come after them first and take 'em out and take the Armor. Just need to wait for Tony to track it down." Spidey remarked.

'About that.' JARVIS chimes into the conversation, 'I am here to inform you that Mr. Stark has requested everyone to meet at the Briefing Room. He seems to have located the Armor of Kako's location.'

"Thanks, JARVIS. Nice timing. Let's not keep the others waiting." quips Spidey, walking out of the training room with his two friends.

Later at the Briefing Room…

BGM-Mega Man X8 OST-Deepening Mystery

The Avengers either sit or stand around the holographic display showing the planet. A glowing red dot appears somewhere in the continent of Europe as Tony speaks, "Ezekiel's armor used Chronoa technology based off the Armor of Kako that was stolen by the Syndicate. After analyzing his armor, I was able to trace source of the ancient tech to here." He gestures to the red dot, as it holographically displays a city, "Sokovia."

"It's a small country that's been plagued by decades of brutal conflict and corruption. Not only it would make for the perfect hideout, but also the easiest country for the Syndicate to conquer without being bothered by other nations." Black Widow briefs everyone with her arms crossed.

"Still, it's a little odd they didn't hide the Armor's energy reading." said Captain America, sitting on his seat.

"It's not like Chronoa technology is easy to turn off. Take it from me." Tony quipped.

"I'm just expressing caution in case it's a trap. Any new intel from Fury or Cia?" Steve asked.

"They're busy following their own leads. We should do the same while we have this one." Wolverine retorted.

Steve stands up from his seat, "Alright. We'll investigate immediately. JARVIS, watch the tower while we're gone and keep an eye on the Sacred Treasures. Contact us if someone is knocking on the door."

'Understood, Captain.' JARVIS replied.

"Let's move out, Avengers." Steve ordered, leading his teammates out of the briefing room to begin their investigation.

Sokovia

The Quinjet lands in a quiet forest near a suspicious building, using stealth mode to prevent itself from being found. Spider-Man was the first to walk out, then Wolverine as they use their unique tracking abilities to lead the team while scouting the area so they won't be ambushed. "According to my sensors, the Kako Armor is somewhere inside that base." said Iron Man, spotting the base up ahead.

"Sensing anything?" Steve asks Peter if his Spider-Sense is detecting any booby traps.

"Nothing so far. For a war-torn country, this area is rather peaceful." Spidey quipped.

Steve glances at Wolverine and asks, "What about you, Logan?"

Wolverine sniffs the air while taking cautious steps forward, "Syndicate's been here. They're in that base alright." He takes a few more steps until he stops and raises his hand to his friends, prompting them to stop as he says, "Smellin' something." He sniffs the air several times to try to find the source of the suspicious smell. As he does, a mysterious black puddle manifests underneath the Avengers. And by the time Wolverine locates the source it was too late, as symbiote tendrils erupts from the puddle and viciously binds the heroes, forcing them down to their knees.

"Symbiote tendrils! No wonder my Spider-Sense wasn't picking up anything!" Spidey exclaimed.

BGM-Mega Man X8 OST-VS Sigma Demo

Suddenly, Salem and Doppelganger are warped in front of the ensnared Avengers. The Dark Witch mockingly smiles at them, "How ironic for a spider to get caught in a web."

In succession, the rest of the Syndicate are warped to the forest as they surround the Avengers. All of the Syndicate except for Red Skull. Then, something or someone flies out of the base at blazing speeds and makes a dramatic landing next to Salem. It's Red Skull, outfitted with the helmetless Armor of Kako, which is colored black and gold with blue and purple accents and has shoulder cogs, as well as a chestplate that resembles the face of the Time Eater.

"Greetings, Avengers. How do you like my new suit?" Red Skull asked with a mocking grin.

"Dashing. Where can we get one?" Stark asked.

"I'm afraid it is a one-of-a-kind." Skull quipped.

Hulk growls angrily as he struggles to break free from the tendrils, "Then I'll rip it off of you while I rip off these tentacles!"

"In time. Which is enough for us. There is someone that has been very eager to meet you all face-to-face." Skull proclaimed with a devious smile on his sinister face.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-The Resurrection of Mephiles

Promptly, dark smoke emits from the ground in front of Red Skull. The Avengers stare at it in silence as they watch Mephiles ominously emerging from it and confronting them. "That's…not a Grimm." Ruby remarks with a worried expression.

"Is it a ghost?!" Kamala asked quickly.

Thor responds with, "Nay. It is an ancient dark spirit thought long forgotten, which could only mean…"

Mephiles makes a laugh that slightly unnerves the heroes as he says, "At long last we meet, Avengers! The Syndicate were so kind to release me from my constraints so I may join this meeting. A shame Nick Fury is absent. He and I have history that I wished to discuss."

"So, you're the creature he sealed away in the Scepter 20 years ago." Stark stated.

"That's right. I'm Mephiles. Mephiles the Dark." said Mephiles, as he creepily moves towards Iron Man. "I owe MUCH to your family, Tony Stark. Oh, yes." He forms a purple orb in his hand, as Red Skull secretly charges energy in his palm as Mephiles continues, "What Howard and SHIELD did to me, I now return to you and the Avengers! A one-way ticket to oblivion." He envelops the Avengers in his purple orb, causing them to scream painfully. Then the armored Red Skull fires an energy beam from his gauntlet at the purple orb, which intensifies the sphere until it, and the Avengers, disappear into nothing.

Crisis City Zone (200 Years into the Future)

The purple orb appears above a rooftop and deposits the Avengers from it. They find themselves on the ruins of a futuristic city which has been charred by flames, glancing confusedly at the fires ravaging the infernal metropolis which are searing the sky and belching voluminous smoke into the night air.

"What is this place?" Black Widow wondered.

"It seems we've been teleported to another location." Thor replied.

Spidey scans the ruins with his eyes as they slowly widen with realized horror. He takes a step back while saying, "This place looks frighteningly familiar…" He turns to Tails and Ruby, "Tails, Ruby, we've been here before, remember? We had an adventure here a long time ago during the mess that was my 18th birthday."

Ruby gasps in shock as she recalls this place, as Tails remarks, "No way! I can't believe we're back here again!"

"Spill it, already! Where the heck are we?" asked Wolverine.

"Not 'where' the heck are we. WHEN the heck are we?" Spidey quipped.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-The Future World

The eyes of the Avengers widen in horrified shock upon realizing they've been sent through time. Wolverine groans, pinching his eyes while saying, "Oh crud…We time-traveled."

"When and where?" Hulk asked.

"We're not exactly sure, but from the looks of it…" Tails look over the destroyed city with a frown, "This is a timeline where Iblis was awakened…and destroyed the world." He claimed somberly.

Ms. Marvel covers her mouth in surprise, "Oh snap! That's just as surprising as the fact we time-traveled. I never time-traveled before."

"How did Mephiles send us here?" Iron Man questioned.

"Recall that he was once the Eternal Sun God, Solaris, who had the natural ability to manipulate time." Thor answered.

"But it didn't look like he was in a state to use all his power. Red Skull must've amplified his ability with the Kako Armor for them to pull this trick." Stark proclaimed. "We knew we'd be running into a trap, but not even I predicted this."

"We need to hurry back to our time!" said Cap, turning to Spider-Man, "Spider-Man, can you summon the Chronoblade and use it to open a portal back home?"

Spidey summons the Chronoblade to his hand, "I can summon it, but the Chronoblade doesn't have the power to time travel!"

"Then open a portal to the Time Sanctuary. Cia said both her place and the Blade are linked." Cap ordered.

Spidey slashes the air in hopes of opening a portal to the Time Sanctuary, but it didn't work. "No good, Cap! I think the sword ran out of batteries!"

"Skull and Mephiles must've drained its power somehow. And I can't make contact with Cia either. It's like they blocked the signal too!" Stark retorted.

Widow frowns while kicking a rock, "They planned this too well. And now we're stuck here."

"I won't accept that! There's gotta be another way back to our time!" Steve retorted, not losing hope.

"We just need enormous power to open a hole in time and space. If Chaos Emeralds still exist here, then at least two could do the trick!" Tails proclaimed.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-Crisis City

Suddenly the Spider-Sense tingles for Peter as he detects trouble approaching them. He turns to the sky and spots a swarm of the winged Iblis Takers flying towards them as he quips, "Let's ask them if they've seen any Emeralds." to get his friends' attention onto the monsters.

The long-ranged Avengers shoot down as many Takers as they can. Hulk leaps to the air, punching a few Takers before landing on the ground and gets assaulted by their fireballs. He roars while ripping off a chunk of the ground, then throws it at the Takers shooting him. Then comes down an Iblis Golem, who knocks back the green goliath with a single mighty punch. Thor noticed and swoops towards the Golem, killing it with a single uppercut from his mighty hammer.

"Sit boy! Sit!" shouted Kamala, squashing an Iblis Biter with her enlarged hand.

"Hated these things when they popped up in our time!" snarls Wolverine, counting a laser breath from an Iblis Stalker with a vicious slash.

"Let's hope their big papa doesn't pop up!" quips Spidey, dodging an Iblis Worm that would've burst out of the ground beneath him and webs its mouth, slamming the creature to the ground.

Black Widow flips over a Biter's fire breath and lands on the creature's back, stabbing her electric baton through her head to kill it. "We need to retreat! We're sitting ducks up here!" Widow exclaimed.

While the Avengers are too distracted fighting Iblis Monsters, an Iblis Titan appeared and slams its rocky fists on the ground, shaking it while causing the entire roof to split into two. The side the Avengers were standing on collapse, causing the non-fliers to fall screaming towards a lava pool. "GUYS!" Stark shouted.

As the Avengers are moments away from falling into the fiery lava pool, a strangely familiar cyan energy catches them, stopping the heroes from falling into the lava. The heroes glance around with various confused expressions on their faces, trying to figure out how they were saved when they heard a familiar voice saying, "Made it just in time. Are you all okay?"

BGM-Sonic Rush OST-Enemy or Friend

Spidey was the first to spot their savior, who happens to be the young psychic Silver the Hedgehog hovering near them. "Silver!?" Spidey exclaimed in surprise.

Silver lands himself and the heroes on a ruined highway. And as the flying Avengers land next to them, they spot a small army of Iblis Monsters approaching them. But then the monsters were consumed in a column of fire, which was caused by the fire-powered fighter Blaze the Cat as she lands in front of the Avengers with her back faced to them until she turned.

"Blaze?!" Tails exclaimed in shock.

BGM End

"You know of us?" Blaze asked the fox.

Tails looks visibly confused by her remark as he says, "Huh? Of course we know you two. You and Silver are our friends."

"Forgive me, but you must be mistaking us for someone else." Blaze apologized.

"You don't remember us? How could you forget about the awesome time we stomped Green Goblin from conquering reality together?" asked Spidey, looking at Silver.

"I don't remember that happening." Silver remarks with an innocently confused expression.

"The time we saved all of time from being eaten by the Time Eater?" Spidey asked him.

"The what?" said Silver, looking more confused.

"ANY of our adventures when you keep traveling through time?" Spidey questions him.

"I can travel through time?" Silver responded, more confused than ever.

Spidey shrugs, "There goes THAT plan to return home. We're definitely stuck in an alternate timeline."

"But you don't belong in this dimension, princess. What are you doing here?" Stark asks the fire cat.

"Surviving. I've been living here all my life, and I'm not a princess." Blaze replied with her arms crossed.

"Yup. Alternate timeline." Stark quipped.

Blaze gazes at the Avengers suspiciously, "You all keep saying that. I'm guessing you're not from around here. Who are you people?"

"We're the Avengers. And we're trying to find a way back to our time." said Captain America, shocking both the hedgehog and cat with the name of his team.

"No way! The legendary Avengers?!" Silver remarked.

"That's impossible. All of the Avengers died over 200 years ago." Blaze proclaimed.

Hearing the fact that they've been dead for centuries greatly surprises the Avengers to the core. "We're WHAT now?!" Kamala exclaims in total surprise upon hearing about their deaths.

"200 years?! I can't believe we've been sent that far into the future!" Black Widow commented with a look of shock.

Stark looks down at Silver, "You wouldn't happen to have developed a time machine during the past two centuries?"

"No. We barely have enough material to provide shelter, which is why we've been exploring these ruins looking for more until we saw you needed help." Silver said, then smiles cheery at the Avengers, "But this is better! We found you! YOU ALL could help us! We just need to head back to the safe house!"

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Blaze asked her hedgehog friend, remaining suspicious of the Avengers.

"Of course! They're the Avengers, meaning we have a shot at saving the world!" Silver retorted, still smiling while looking at Blaze.

"Don't be too optimistic. We can't trust these people. We don't know anything about them. One of them looks related to Maestro." Blaze scolded the hedgehog.

"Maestro? Who's related to whoever that is? Hulk?" quips Spidey, glancing at Hulk growling at him.

Silver makes a serious look on his face while saying to Blaze, "My heart says I can trust them. Besides, we have an important mission soon and we need all the help we can get."

Blaze sighs while putting her hands on her hips and says, "So naïve…Fine. They can come. None of us are safe here anyway." She reluctantly allows the Avengers to accompany them.

"Yes!" Silver smiles with a joyful fist pump, looking at the Avengers and says, "Come on, follow us." before he and Blaze walk ahead to lead them.

Tails smiles, "They certainly act like the Silver and Blaze we know." He said to his teammates before they follow the duo.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-The Ruined World of the Future

Joining Silver and Blaze, the Avengers walk along streets surrounded by ruins of buildings. They see sections of the ground below has become nothing but a sea of lava, with the occasional rumble of thunder and flash of lightning from the storm clouds covering the sky. "This world is depressing." Ruby comments with a sadden expression.

Silver frowns as he says, "This world was devastated before I was born. A harsh, bleak place, where we live in eternal darkness. Life is a struggle, and people live without hope. How did this happen? Only a few knew the truth. The rest will always point…to the flames." A tornado of flames erupts from beneath the streets and swirl up before the heroes. Silver uses a psychokinetic blast to clear the flames in front of them and they die away.

"Nice move." Stark compliments the hedgehog.

"Thanks." Silver replied. "These flames. They burn away at my world destroying everything in their path. They come from an eternal life form we cannot truly defeat. The Flames of Disaster known as…"

"Iblis." Peter finished. "We know him from our time."

"Did he destroy your world too?" Silver asked.

"Close, but we beat his butt into a container for eternity." Spidey quipped.

Silver looks at the webslinger with a great look of shock and surprise upon hearing those words, "You all beaten Iblis?!"

"Oh yeah." quips Spidey, summoning the Chronoblade to his hand, "With a little help from this, which doesn't work anymore, unfortunately." He chuckles nervously.

"Still, that's great news! Now I KNOW it's possible to beat him! I've always kept fighting, knowing that there is some way to beat him!" Silver smiled cheerily.

Captain America smiles at the young hedgehog, "As long as you keep fighting, there is always hope to accomplish the impossible, son."

"I'll keep that in heart." Silver replied, smiling at the captain, while Blaze smiles to herself upon hearing his declaration.

Eventually, the heroes made it to a corridor of a ruined building to find a secret floor hatch. Silver opens it with his psychic powers and drops in first before Blaze and the Avengers, as they find themselves walking through the corridor of what appears to be a bunker. Widow scans her surroundings, noticing SHIELD symbols on the walls as she remarks, "This looks like an old SHIELD bunker."

The group enters a large room to find a handful of civilians that survived the apocalypse. Humans. Mutants. Mobians. Faunus. They are here, they are weak, and they are scared as they quietly look at the heroes passing by. "All these people…" Ruby glances at the survivors.

"There's so little of us around the globe. All of us are hiding underground trying to escape the chaos of the outside world." Blaze said.

Ruby frown, "I can't believe this is the future…Everything is in ruins."

Silver approaches a closed door and says, "Dad, we're back!" to someone inside the next room.

Spidey and Tails exchange looks of confusion as Spidey jokes, "Dad? Oh, this is gonna be interesting."

Blaze joins the hedgehog's side as she speaks to the person inside, "We've come back with guests. They claim to be the Avengers traveling through time."

Then, the door slowly opens from the inside and walks out an elderly African American man that looks awfully familiar when they recognize his eyepatch and ignore his big beard. Upon recognizing the man, the Avengers react in collective shock as Thor remarks, "By Odin's beard…"

"No kidding! Look at his beard!" Kamala quipped.

Iron Man opens his faceplate to reveal his shocked face at the elder, "I CAN'T believe you outlived me…How are you still alive, old man?" He jokingly asked while still in shock.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Standing Together

The black elder scoffs with a smile as he taps the floor with his cane and quips, "Gotta love the Infinity Formula, combined with my stubbornness. Unfortunately, I ran out of the Formula 30 years ago."

"Nick Fury…" The shocked Steve recognizes the elder version of the SHIELD Director.

"Long time no see, Avengers. None of you have age a day." Old Nick Fury said to his long-lost friends.

"Benefits of time-travel. We don't need a fancy Formula to stay this beautiful." Spidey quipped.

"200 years later and your jokes still annoy the hell out of me." Fury scowled.

"So…they really ARE the Avengers." Blaze says in awe, now believing them to be the real deal.

Fury glances at Blaze, "That's right. And their timing couldn't be better."

"What do you mean, Nick? How did the world end up this way?" Steve asked.

Fury sighs with a frown, closing his eyes for a moment as he says, "The Day of Disaster…A day I keep having nightmares about. That was when Iblis was freed by Eggman Nega and his flames were released into the world, and you guys failed to stop him."

"Surely there were other heroes who could've stopped him. The X-Men? Freedom Fighters? Team RWBY?" Ruby questioned the elder director.

"All long dead, kid. Silver and Blaze here are the only heroes left. But now that you're here, you can help them stop this nightmare for good." said Fury, briefly going back into his room to pick up something. He returns to the heroes to show them a small blue cylindrical container that looks extremely familiar to them.

"Isn't that the Sol Vessel?" Widow questioned her boss.

"Yup. It was destroyed during the Day of Disaster, but I've finally repaired it with salvaged tech from Stark, Schnee, and Oscorp. All that's left is to seal Iblis into this thing. I know for certain we can succeed now that you all are here." Old Fury said to the Avengers.

"I dunno. We need to figure out a way back to our timeline before our villains destroy it." Tony responded.

"Tony, we're staying to help!" Steve retorted, wanting to help save this timeline first.

Tony quips, "Oh, I knew you were gonna say that, and I totally agree. Just wanted to express 'caution' of everything that's at stake."

Fury scoffs with a smile, "None of you really have changed. That's good. Meaning we have a shot to take down Iblis. Follow Silver and Blaze. They'll help you find Iblis."

"How?" Hulk asked, as Silver is handed the Sol Vessel from Fury.

"I can sense his flames. We should hurry before they intensify." said Blaze, as she and Silver lead the Avengers out of the bunker to stop Iblis.

Avengers Tower (Present Day)

BGM-Breath of Fire 3 OST-Dragon Slayer

Meanwhile at the main timeline, the Enchantress quietly warps herself, Eggman Nega, Taskmaster, and Abomination to the rooftop of Avengers Tower. As they approach a door, Nega says to Taskmaster, "You know what to do."

Taskmaster takes out a device as he says, "I got the keys to the kingdom." and inserts the device into a wall control panel. He hacks into the Tower, causing all of its window to glow red and disable JARVIS. After a moment, even the giant "A" logo turns red as all the doors unlock. Even the rooftop door opens for the villains as they walk into the tower with evil chuckles. "All alarms and coms have been disabled." Taskmaster confirmed.

"All too easy hacking into ancient Stark tech." Nega grins, while riding his Egg Mobile.

"Enough boasting. Let us hurry and find the Sacred Relics." Enchantress reminds her allies with stern glances as they walk down a hallway.

Nega still smiles eerily, "Pardon me, Enchantress. I am just relishing in our upcoming victory. The Avengers are trapped in a ruined future with no way home. Thanks to Mephiles and the Kako Armor, the Chronoblade has been drained of its energy, and we have blocked any signal that could reach that Chronoan Sorceress for rescue."

"Knowing the Avengers, it is only a matter of time until they return." Enchantress claims, as they approach the laboratory.

"Yes. Even if by some miracle they return, it will already be too late." said Nega, entering the lab to find the Spear of Mira and the Crown of Tempus contained in their own analysis tube.

Amora smiles, easily using her magic to warp the Treasures out of their tubes and into the Egg Mobile. Nega laughs as he projects a holographic display of Red Skull from his vehicle, "Did you find them?"

"Easily. The Spear of Mira and the Crown of Tempus are now in our possession. Our search is complete." Nega smiled eerily at the hologram.

Red Skull chuckles sinisterly, "Excellent. Return immediately. The revival of Chronoa is about to begin!"

KFX Here: Total Mayhem was basically an extended variation of Sonic's story from Sonic 06. Now it's time to do an abridged version of Silver's story from the same game before we end this story.
