Chapter 13: Safe
I didn't realize when I fall sleep on Peter's shoulder, but once he shook me off a little I realize that it was daylight and must be already morning, he told me that were close to the place and that I get ready because we are swinging to where he thinks Fury is.
I still felt a little sleepy, but once I was holding on to him, he swing us and my sleep was off in that moment, holding onto Peter for dear life, I wasn't scare, after all he had his arm around me and I think with his Spider-Man strength he will not let me fall, but just in case I had my arms around his neck and legs around his waist like the last time.
When we arrived to the ground Peter tried to talk with some lady but she screamed "Night Monkey" running away and then Fury arrived, he didn't ask for me as we enter his car and Peter tried to tell him about everything as soon as we were inside but he told him that not yet and signaled him to put his seatbelt which he broke, he looked nervous around Fury, I mean who wouldn't this men looks very intimidating, in a couple minutes we arrived to a building and follow him inside.
Peter was explaining him everything about Beck and I was just standing there looking around, then I realize something...neither of Fury or the woman standing next to him where addressing my presence which I thought that it was weird, it seemed like they were talking by the script because they didn't even turned to look at me, which was just like in the car that he didn't asked anything to me...then I realize
"Peter!" - I called out his attention and he turned to me - "It's Beck...he is here" - I said
"What?" - asked Peter confused and then he looked around and everything started to disappear including the woman that was next to with Fury
"What? Hill?" - asked Nick Fury and then a missile came from behind hitting Fury putting him on the ground
"Fury!" - Called Peter going to him but I stopped him
"No! Peter he's an illu- agh!" - I was cut out by a shock coming from the bracelets
"Zig!" - called out Peter trying to grab me
"No!" - I said with my hand up - "they can...shock you...too...don't...AGH!" - I grunted in pain this shock was stronger than the ones before
"But..." - started to say Peter when a drone came and blasted Peter through the wall
"Peter!" - I yelled but I couldn't stand up...then everything turned black and I pass out
I wake up feeling very dizzy and tired, I looked around slowly and I saw I was in the glass cage, but as I slowly sit up and stand looking better around me and I realize I'm not in the same place I was before and that the glass cage looks different, there are 4 panels on each wall of it, then I remember something important...
"Peter..." - I call out weakly
"Hi there little Zig, welcome to London, ready for our last strike?" - said Beck
"Where are we? Where is Peter?" - I ask confused
"Peter is long gone Ziggy, I'm sorry about it, just another causality, he was in our way, so I had do to something about it" - said Beck
"No...not our way, I'm not part of this, he was in YOUR WAY!" - I scream at him getting a shock from the bracelets as I get angry and sad thinking the worst...he killed Peter which also made me cry while light shocks came from the bracelets
"Wow...such hostility, don't worry, soon you will join Peter and your other friends" – said Beck with an evil smile
"Why do you still need me, why don't you kill me already?" - I asked
"I still need your services" - said Beck
"I'm not helping you...I will not use my powers anymore for you, even if you shock me until I die" - I said
"I don't need to shock you and I don't need to ask for your permission" - said Beck
"Why because your drones are gonna do all the work?" - I ask incredulously - "I saw the hologram of the new "elemental" is not gonna work" - I said
"Oh...but it will with my drones and your powers" - said Beck with a smirk
"What are you talking about?" - I asked confused
"Have you wonder, why we put that headpiece and the wired pads on you every time we have a strike?" - asked Beck
"To keep a check on my powers and control them?" - I ask
"You know is interesting how your powers work, did you know if you have ever been exposed to chemicals or even your mom?" – asked Beck
"I don't know what you mean" – I said confused
"Your powers come from some kind of radiation exposure, which makes you somehow into the host of radioactive energy that helps active your powers, besides your emotions as we know" – explained Beck – "which means as well that we can borrow your own energy to mimic your powers as well" – he added with a smirk
"You were draining my powers..." - I said realizing that was the burning feeling from the headpiece and the wired pads after every strike
"You thought we just liked to torture you?" - Asked Beck with a smirk - "sadly we can't do much with just a little draining from your powers, so we just need like some kind of power source and thankfully whatever we do seems to not affect you as every time you we take some of your powers you recover your energy somehow" - he explained
"No...no..." - I said - "Fury will stop you or Peter" - I add trying to control myself as I'm still crying and getting light shocks from the bracelets
"Fury knows nothing, I have a drone ready for him and some others for your friends, Peter is dead" - explained Beck with a satisfying smirk on his face
"No...you can't..." - I cried
"I can...and I will..." - he said before turning away from me - "I got here as fast as I could..." - said Beck talking to someone else now
I knew that he was maybe talking to Nick Fury convincing him about all this, short after finishing with him he started to talk to the crew getting them all in position and when the pulse and the drones were in position he turned back to me.
"I wish this could have been in other way little Zig...but you know...maybe this is all for the better" - said Beck before clicking a button on his gauntlet
The cage and the panels around it started to glow up, before I knew it a burning pain was all over my body making me feel like I was suffocated in a hot fever, suddenly I was floating while the panels started to glow harder and energy shoot out of them to me and I screamed in pain when they hit me but in a matter of seconds, nothing...I didn't felt or heard nothing, it was like I was sleep.
I don't know how much time passed, but next thing I know is that I am on the ground and the cage stopped whatever it was doing to me, I feel shaky and weak and when I open my eyes looking around I see a bunch of drones.
"Wha...what happened?" - I asked confused
"Your friend turned out not to be dead, but a pain in the ass" - said Beck
"Peter..." - I said and slowly sit up - "he's gonna stop you Beck" - I said mimicking Beck's smirk he always gives to me when things go his way
"He can try, he will lose anyway either he stop me or not" - said Beck
"What are you talking about?" - I said
"I may as well explain, you aren't gonna make it anyway" - said Beck turning to me - "besides the obvious he loses if I end him and his friends who are hiding in the museum, there is other plan, if he by any chance wins, William and the others are prepared for that, I already recorded a small part of a video that will make him look like all of this is his fault and giving that EDITH is a Stark technology and Peter is part of the Avengers, is not gonna take much time for people to do the math" - explained Beck
"But-" - I started to say but then a shatter sound appeared making me jump and get a shock from the bracelets
"Your lies are over Beck" - said Peter's voice making me open my eyes
"Peter!" - I called out
"This certainly isn't ideal, but I have contingencies" - said Beck as a drone blast Peter to the other end of the corridor and Beck stands up standing in front of me
"Just give me the glassed" - said Peter after standing from the ground
"You want these?" - Asked Beck showing the glasses to Peter - "come and get them" - he challenge him while the drones activate a projection around Peter
"Peter watch out!" - I said before getting another shock from the bracelets
"Shut up!" - growled Beck at me
I see Peter closing his eyes breathing and then he opens them jumping across the corridor destroying drone after drone coming closer to Beck
"Why aren't these drones firing?" - asked Beck while pressing a button on his gauntlet, he stopped talking and then... - "FIRE ALL THE DRONES NOW!" - growled Beck
The drones fly forward shooting at Peter, but he knocks his way through them, one of the drones that was on the ground spins shooting all around the place hitting Beck making me flinch and get a shock as it hits the cage as well, it didn't get me but it did scratch some of the cage.
Beck moved to put his back against the cage, then Peter walks towards Beck when the drones are destroyed, he took off his mask, turned to look at me and then at Beck, he was all bruised, I felt bad for him and even a little at Beck, but before I could heard anything else I heard a shot making me flinch getting another electric shock and when I open my eyes I see Peter holding Beck's hand with a gun pointed to his side.
"You can't trick me anymore" - said Peter to Beck grabbing the glasses from him putting them on as Beck falls on the round - "EDITH turn off the drones!" - said Peter
"Biometric scan complete, welcome back Peter, shall I execute all cancellations protocols?" - asked EDITH voice on the glasses
"Do it, execute them all" - ordered Peter
I see all the drones flying away while Peter thanked the glasses with a smirk for making drones go all away and then he turned to a dying Beck on the ground.
"How could you do all of this?" - asked Peter mad at him
"You'll see Peter, people tend to believe and nowadays, they'll believe anything" - said Beck while struggling with his words, he was dying slowly
"Why did you had to have Ziggy as your slave" - asked Peter
"Some people are easy to manipulate...you know that...I did it with you...and him" - said Beck looking turning to look at me - "say goodbye Zig" - said Beck before pressing a button on his gauntlet sending shocks from the bracelets around my body, I grunted and screamed in pain, they weren't stopping and they hurt badly.
"Zig!" - Called out Peter - "I will get you out, don't worry" - he said
"Don't worry...Peter...leave...I am...I...I can't stay...I'm too...dangerous" - I cried
"No! I will not let you" - growled Peter as I heard repetitive bangs against the glass
I was feeling my eyes getting heavier and I was ready to give myself away as I was lying face down on the floor, then I heard a loud crash and after that the shocks stopped but they leave my body shaking.
"Zig...Zig...come on..." - called out Peter as I felt him carry me out of the cage
"How?" - I asked opening my eyes slowly feeling weak, Peter hold me close to him making us sit on the ground and I was basically on his lap looking at my bracelets - "the bracelets..." - I said in a weak voice
"While I was making my new suit, I also make those little magnets attached to the bracelets" - said Peter signaling to two little things that had the shape of the Spider-Man symbol - "they turn them off so you will not get tracked or get any more shocks, this is until we can figure out how to get them off" - he explained
"But...why?" - I asked looking at him my eyes still watery
"I told you I was gonna help you Zig" - said Peter with a gently smile
"No...you didn't help me Peter...you...you save me" - I said and find some strength in me to hug him, I felt he tensed up a little but then he wrapped his arms around me hugging me back, I was still shaking a little and I couldn't stop crying happy tears when I realize...there in Peter's arms...I was safe.
A/N: YES! WE HAVE FINALLY BEAT BECK! I mean I really hated the character he was pretty hateful, I mean he even manage play dirty on Peter after revealing his identity to the world at the end, like Peter said WTF? But anyway we are almost at the end of this story guys like super close and I have a surprise for you, so keep an eye on this one (and the other one on this same universe).
