Kombat Komes to Beacon
Chap 13: Kamidogu and Armies
After the fight and clearing out the dead bodies from the attack, we all decided it was best to head back to the Special Forces base to discuss our next course of action is. Though before we left, Glynda had made sure to call in Huntsmen and Huntresses with Ironwoods calling more soldiers to protect Beacon in case another attack happens. Once back, we all went back to the operations room to come up with a plan and to tell them the bad news. And judging by their reaction.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BOTH OUR UNIVERSES ARE BECOMING ONE!" Glynda yelled out.
They are not taking it well.
"It means that both our universes are merging." Raiden calmly explained.
"Hold on. Let's start from the beginning to so we can understand this fully. But please be as detailed as you can." Ironwoods said while pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Very well. You all recall the tremor we felt before the portal opened right?" I asked them.
"Yes. Very weird as they don't normally happen in Vale. Vacuo is the kingdom that has the most tremors and earthquakes." Glynda answered.
"That tremor was not an actual tremor. Think like this. When you collide with something, the object you collided with shakes a bit. Same principle applies here. Except now, instead of just colliding and causing a shake, Remnant and the Mortal Kombat Universe are now being merged into one." I explained to them.
"Are you sure it was just a tremor and not a merging as you were saying?" Winter asked.
"At first, I hope it was just a tremor. But a second after I thought that, it was confirmed that it was a merging. I started to see parts from the temple of the dragon king but also some other parts of Outworld and the NetherRealm appear. Seeing those appear was a clear-cut indication that this is in fact a merging." I told her.
"Is there any way to prevent the merging? Or undo it if the merge is successful?" Summer asked. I shook my head at her.
"To stop this merging, we must kill Onaga. But if you are talking about preventing all future merging, then that's impossible. As there are many ways to merge two realms. And to undo them is very tricky and nearly impossible. Only twice has that ever been achieved. The first time was when Nitara freed her home realm of Vaeturnus from Outworld. The second time was when Edenia was freed from Outworld. The first time was a bit easy as it was not a normal merge as there was an item that basically kept Vaeturnus a part of Outworld. Nitara broke the item and her realm was freed. The second time was far more complicated and took a long time to undo. And it required a lot of researching and power just get the process started." I answered her.
"If it is that complicated, why don't we just go down there and beat Onaga's ass." Yang said with red eyes.
"Yang is right. Let's go beat that big dragon." Ruby and Nora both agreed. I was about to say something but Summer beat me to it.
"Children, do you not remember what happened last time you charged at him?" Summer said in a warning voice.
"He just got lucky." Yang countered.
"Lucky? Lucky Yang?" I asked in disbelief.
"This isn't a game young one." Raiden said sternly. Yang was about to say something but the combined stern gaze of nearly everyone in the room caused her to keep quiet. Her eyes returning to their original lilac color. Yet despite everyone's stern gaze at her, she still seemed liked she was about to say something.
"Yang, before you continue, let me ask you something. Do you really want Ruby to be without a sister? Also, do you want to run the risk of being revived and fighting your sister and potentially killing her?" I asked her.
"No." She said while looking down and pulling Ruby into a hug. Summer then pulled them both into a hug.
"That's what I thought. We must go about this carefully. Thanks to Peach, we now have an idea on how to even the field when we go against Onaga. And that is the kamidogu. Luckily, we have three of the six kamidogu. Two of the remaining ones are easy to get while third one will take a bit longer to get but still doable." I told them.
"And where are these kamidogu located at?" Ironwoods asked.
"Like I said before, they are located in the NetherRealm, ChaosRealm and OrderRealm. ChaosRealm and NetherRealm will be easy to get. OrderRealm will be a bit harder to get but still doable." I answered.
"While it is good to know their location, it won't mean much if we don't have an army to back us up." Winter added,
"Not yet. But we do know some people who are willing to fight that also command armies who would be willing to follow us in battle." Kotal Kahn answered.
"Then what are we waiting for. Let's go." Weiss demanded thinking that what we are doing is just wasting time.
"Calm yourself young one. We still have much to go over. It would be unwise to rush to meet our goals without a plan," Fujin warned. Weiss simply huffed in annoyance.
"Can you tell us who are the people who will be joining us?" Glynda asked.
"If we can swing it right, then the Shokan, the Tarkatans, the Wu Shi monks, all clan members of the Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei, the Black Dragon, the Special Forces and possibly some others." I answered her.
"Never thought I would live to see the day where the Special Forces and Black Dragon work together." Jax said.
"I agree with ya. But just as much as I love fighting you all, I love doing business as well. And no universe, no business." Kano said agreeing with Jax.
"Anyway, how should we go about recruiting these groups?" Winter asked.
"Not yet. Now it's your turn. Tell us more about that lady we saw." Sonya demanded. Glynda and Ironwood looked at each other before turning back to her.
"To be honest, we don't know much about her. Only her name, that she wants to destroy all of Remnant, and that she and Ozpin have a history with each other. But that is the extent of it. We were always kept in the dark and told that everything will work itself out as long as Beacon stands. Outside of that we know nothing." Ironwoods answered.
"That ain't much to work with. Do you think that man Ozpin kept records of her anywhere?" Jax asked.
"Knowing the fool Ozpin, he most definitely has records of her somewhere in his office." Glynda answered. Her calling Ozpin a fool took me off guard a bit but considering what he put her through, I can't say I blame her.
"Look for anything that tells of her death. Salem mention something about finally being able to die. That may hold a key to defeat her." Kotal Kahn advised. Both Glynda and Ironwoods nodded, yet from the corner of my eye, I could see that they seemed to be holding something back.
"That is interesting, Okay, that will be our main focus in our search. Anything else?" Ironwoods asked.
"See if you can get the other kingdoms to lend their support. As strong as Salem might be, she is nothing compared to the dragon king. He is the bigger threat we should focus on. We should also at all times assume one might betray the other. Especially since their goals conflict each other's." I told them.
"How do you know Jaune?" Glynda asked.
"Salem said she wanted to destroy everything so she can finally die. But Onaga does not want total destruction of everything. He wants to merge and conquer everything. You obviously can't have both, so one is obviously is planning on betraying the other. And despite whoever betrays who, Onaga is going to win." I answered her.
"Alright. I will alert the other kingdoms and ask for their support. Though I fear some might not be willing to help. But I think I can persuade using the footage the cameras captured of the recent battle." Ironwoods said.
"That is a good idea. Use that. All right, for the rest of you. Your assignment will be to go back to your clans or groups and have your troops train and prepare for the upcoming battle. Also, as soon as you can, bring the kamidogu back here for safe keeping. But also, bring some troops back here as well to increase security." Jax ordered.
"As for you Jaune, you and a few others of your choice will go to each of the realms and collect the remaining kamidogu. Afterwards, come back here to drop them off. Then go to the Tarkatan camps and Shokan territory and tell them of what is happening and see if they are willing to lend their support. And try and recruit anyone else you happen along as any help would be appreciated." Sony said to me.
"Wait, I just realized that we don't know the location of where we are going to attack." Blake said suddenly. Upon hearing this, most of us facepalmed at realizing we had completely skipped that part.
"Can't believe we skipped that part. Who here has an idea on where to begin with that?" Ironwoods asked.
"Perhaps you know of any associates that could be working for them. That could be a good start." Erron suggested.
"There is one we know who is an information broker. I guess we can start there." Ironwoods said.
"Don't forget about Roman and Neo. They used to work for Cinder so they might have a clue as to where they could be. But also look for a girl named Emerald. She used to be part of her team and was basically a blind follower of Cinder. She might know the base location as well." I added in.
"Right, they were also part of Cinders group and could know the location. Okay, so we have our universe covered in who could know about the base. But what about here? Do you know of anyone who might know or could find the base if it was here?" Winter asked.
"We can ask Kharon to keep an eye out in the NetherRealm. Outworld had merchant and black-market dealers that we could persuade into scouting and gathering any information about their base. If it happens in earthrealm then we would know about it easily. I doubt it will be in OrderRealm as they would immediately make it known. ChaosRealm will be a bit tricky but since we know the ruler, we can get her to send scouts out as well." Smoke answered.
"Good. Now let's get to it." Sonya ordered. We then all made our way to the portal room and a few minutes later we were all sent to our respective destination. All except me and the ones I chose to accompany on my mission. There was me, Kenshi, Nightwolf, Fujin, Erron Black and my team and Team Rwby. Summer wanted to come, but we didn't let her as despite her best attempt at hiding it, she was still fatigue from being revived and combine that with the fight she had with Tyrian, I am amazed she hasn't fallen unconscious yet. So, we had her placed in the med bay to recover with Peach and Sindel to help.
"Where are we going first Jaune?" Ren asked.
"Frankly, I don't you guys should come. But since you are, we are first going to the NetherRealm as that one will be easier. Then ChaosRealm and finally OrderRealm. Once we finish gathering the kamidogu, we will head to Outworld and seek out the Tarkatans and Shokan." I answered him as I packed a few things into a bag I grabbed for the travel. It was mostly some snacks and drinks and medical supplies. They are mostly for Team Rwby and my team. Normally we wouldn't need them but considering the others that are coming with us, we will need it.
"What? Do you think we can't handle ourselves Jaune? Must we remind you that we were the top students of Beacon and trained by top tier trainers." Weiss angrily replied.
"Yet you were still defeated in the first siege of Beacon, you all performed miserably when we trained you, barely survived the attack by the oni on the day of the Vytal festival, Yang and Nora basically taken out in one shot, you never winning a single fight solo. Yeah, you will all do just fine. Plus take into account that you all are essentially in a foreign place with people, cultures, and creatures you have never seen before. With many of them having abilities that again, none of you have seen before. And most would love more than anything is for the chance to kill you." I countered her. She seemed like she was about to attack me when I said this but was stopped when Erron threw a sand vial and shot it making the sand blind Weiss for a bit.
"Enough of that crap. Now let's get going. We're wasting enough time." He said as he put back his revolver. Weiss seemed like she was about to attack but stopped when Nightwolf and Kenshi took out their weapons. Ignoring all this, I put in the coordinates for the NetherRealm and a moment later the portal was ready.
"Alright, head on in guys. We'll be right behind you." I told them. Team RWBY and my team headed on into the portal. But we did not immediately follow. Instead, we stayed behind with Jax coming up to us as soon as the two teams went into the portal.
"They are hiding something." Erron said.
"We must watch our every movement from now on." Fujin agreed.
"Definitely. What should we do in response to this Jaune?" Jax asked me. I was confused for a moment but then realized I had the most experience with them so I would be the ideal person to ask.
"Have all the personal on guard. When the kamidogu are brought here, take them to another base. Relocated anyone who is coming to fight with us to the NetherRealm as that would be where they least expect it. Heep anyone from Remnant in the dark. They ask anything, play it off. Also take this." I said as I handed him Shinnok's amulet. "Keep this where you would have placed the kamidogu. If they ask, tell them this is what happens when you bring all the kamidogu together." I finished.
"Got it. What should I tell the other kombatants?" He asked as he took the amulet from me.
"Keep them informed about everything. But make sure they understand that to be discreet and to act like they don't suspect anything." I answered him.
"Are you sure this is wise Jaune?" Fujin asked.
"I am sure Fujin." I told him with a smile.
"And what about your girlfriend and Summer who is in the med bay?" Kenshi asked.
"Same thing. We cannot trust them. Better safe than sorry." I answered him.
"We should leave now; they are probably wondering why we are not with them yet." Nightwolf advised.
"Your right lets go. And remember act like we don't suspect anything." I reminded as we stepped through the portal. On the other side we found ourselves on the very bridge where the special forces staged an ambush on Quan Chi in an attempt to capture him so they could use his magic and Raiden's power to revert the status of our allies being revenants.
"Took you guys long enough. Scared?" Yang taunted with a smirk.
"Don't push it lady. We can still put a hole in your head at a moment's notice." Erron threatened. She simply smirked before turning around.
"Where exactly are we Jaune?" Pyrrha asked. She was looking around and saw that we were on the bridge with lava flowing beneath it.
"The NetherRealm. More specifically, close to Quan Chi's fortress where the kamidogu is located at." I answered her. Double checking to make sure we were the only ones around and no one is spying on us, we started our way to the fortress.
"Jaune, I noticed you mention the name Quan Chi a few times but you never told us who that person or creature is. Who is he?" Ren asked.
"He is a despicable man." Kenshi said before I could say anything.
"A plague on all living things." Fujin added.
"A man whose evil knows no end." Nightwolf added.
"The literal definition of shoot first, ask questions later." Erron also added.
"Not really an answer. But he can't be that bad, can he?" Ruby asked. I had to hold back a sigh at that. Ruby really is too innocent. Even more reason why she and the others shouldn't be here. They would all severely underestimate everyone and get themselves killed.
"Quan Chi is a terrible man Ruby. There is no way around it. He caused my father Scorpion to become the demon he once was. He slaughtered countless people for fun and turned many of our allies into revenants to do his bidding. Forcing us to fight and basically kill our friends and family. He has no morals or qualms about killing or doing anything that will benefit him. He is a very dangerous man. He is also a very powerful sorcerer. His abilities can make even the most experienced warriors be on edge. He is also a good deceiver and can trick anybody. We are all glad that he is permanently gone." I told her hoping that she would get the idea that he is more dangerous than one might think.
"But did you have to-" Ruby started but luckily Fujin interrupted her.
"We are here." He said getting our attention. Turning back and actually paying attention, I realized we had already made it to the fortress. We started climbing up the steps when I decided it was best to warn the others.
"Okay, everyone follow us and don't touch anything. This place is highly unstable and we still don't know the full extent of this place. It could still have some traps waiting or some items here could easily activate and give us trouble." I warned them. Only to immediately get annoyed as Ruby and Yang were both drawn in by the large pool in the center that was once used to try and turn Johhny into a revenant.
"Like that." I said annoyed as Kenshi telekinetically pulled them back to us.
We continued our way through the fortress. Keeping our distance from some of the creepier things here while avoiding certain areas as they were either unknown or too dangerous to go there. Took about ten minutes to get to the staircase that would take us deep into the lower levels of the fortress where the kamidogu is located at. Luckily, there was not traps or anything on the way down. Which the kombatants and I were thankful for as we did not want to keep stopping to remind the others to not touch which was a pain in the ass.
"Jaune, I have question about this?" Wiess suddenly asked.
"About what Weiss?" I asked her.
"About this place. Why here in the fortress of someone who you say is so evil? Why not somewhere more secure?" She asked.
"Good question. Actually, the kamidogu was originally located in another place in the NetherRealm. But after Quan Chi was killed, we decided that this was the best place for the kamidogu. As no oni or demon would even come near here. Even if they are famished or want to kill you, this is a safe place to be. Not to mention, nearly every creature in the NetherRealm knows the reputation this place holds which also helps in keeping others away." I answered her.
"Makes sense." She said after thinking about it for a minute. We continued our way down and a few flights more and we finally reached the bottom. Opening the door, we entered and were greeted to a small room with a small pillar in the center. On it, was floating an object that kind of looks like a glass sculpture in a sense.
"Thats it. That doesn't seem like anything very powerful." Yang said unimpressed.
"Appearances can be deceiving young one." Fujin wisely told her. Yet instead of taking it, Yang merely scoffed. Shaking my head, I went up to the pillar and grabbed the kamidogu. I then stored it in a special container we brought along to store them for safe travel.
"Alright, lets head back." I said as I took the lead and went back up the stairs.
This time the way back up and through Quan Chi's fortress was mostly uneventful and quiet. Aside from the occasional chatter between the teams or the kombatants. And Weiss glaring daggers at Erron again. But as we walked through the fortress, I could not help but feel watched. And as we moved though the place, the sensation grew more and more. As we neared the exit, the other kombatants were able to tell as well and readied themselves. Blake also readied herself as she too noticed that we were being watched. A few moments later we were exiting the fortress and heading back to the Krossroads. As we neared it, my senses screamed at me to take cover. And I was right to do so as a weapon lodged itself into the very spot, I was standing on a moment ago.
"Where did that come from?" Weiss asked as she has her weapon out. But that quickly left my mind when I heard the other kombatants groan in annoyance. Confused, I decided to take a second look at the weapon that nearly hit me and I immediately understood why the groaned in annoyance.
"Ashrah." I sighed before turning to the others." Stand down. It is just Ashrah." I told them. They seemed hesitant but lowered their weapons but did not put them away. Which was good enough for me.
"Who is Ashrah?" Pyrrha asked.
"A nuisance." Fujin answered irritated.
"I am no nuisance. You demons are." A voice seethed behind us. Sighing, I turned around and saw Ashrah holding her Kriss after she retrieved it from the ground.
"You yourself are a demon Ashrah." I reminded her.
"Not for long. Once I kill you, I can finally go ascend from this cursed place." She said as she got into a fighting stance.
"How many times must we tell you, Jaune is not a demon." Fujin said irritated.
"He is a demon. He is the son of the specter Scorpion. Thus, he must be a demon." Ashrah countered.
"He adopted me Ashrah." I reminded her with my patience already almost gone.
"LIES!" She shouted before lunging at me. But I easily dodged. She then tried to follow up with a lunging slash with a stab right after. Each missed as I again easily dodged it.
"Stop dodging and let me kill you!" Ashrah shouted as I continued to dodged her attacks. She may be a skilled warrior but loses her skill and is quite predictable when she gets angry.
"Who is this Jaune?" Blake asked confused as she watched me keep avoiding each of Ashrah's attacks.
"That is Ashrah. She is a demon of the NetherRealm." Nightwolf answered her.
"Wait, she is a demon? I thought demons would look like disfigured or horrifying creatures. Or maybe just even demonic looking. Not like a beautiful looking regal lady!" Weiss exclaimed.
"She is in fact a demon despite her appearance. There have been cases where a demon has retained its looks. And there are relics that can give demons either the appearance they had before they die. Or give them a conscience and be able to break away from the mindless instinct being a demon gives them." Fujin answered her.
"Why is she trying to kill Jaune though?" Pyrrha asked as she held her weapon and shield ready while glaring daggers at Ashrah as she continued to try and hit me but continued to fail.
"And what up with her weapon? Looks like a bent/messed up dagger but longer?" Yang asked.
"That is called a Kriss. But is not an ordinary kriss. It is said to purify the wielder every time they slay a demon. But whether it is true or not, remains to be seen. Some races even believe this to be a curse. Where it corrupts the wielder into thinking they were using it for a greater purpose." Kenshi said as he decided to sit down and 'watch' the fight happening.
"Should we help?" Ren asked.
"Let it be. Use this moment to rest a bit. Besides, if we intervene, there will be just more bullshit being spat out by her." Erron said as he rested on a nearby rock and pulled his hat down to cover his eyes. But Ren and the others still didn't seem convinced yet.
"Don't worry guys. She'll give up eventually. Then we can get going." I told them. This was enough as they each put away their weapons away. Except Pyrrha and Fujin. Nightwolf had put his weapons away but Kiba was out and watching the fight as well.
"I will never give up. And once I am done with you, I will kill your father. And then I will kill your friends. Starting with the red head with the shield." Ashrah exclaimed before lunging towards me one more time. This caused some anger in me to rise up that I caught her next attack and slammed my fist into her arm breaking the bone. She then tried to kick me but I caught her leg and slammed my elbow into her knee breaking it. She screamed in pain as she grabbed her leg after I let it go. While she was distracted with the pain in her leg, I continued my assault on her. I raised my hand and have a giant rock come from the ground which I then threw at Ashrah in the chest which not only crush her ribs and lungs but sent her flying towards the edge of the bridge. Not giving her a chance to recover, I charged at her with flames covering my body and lifted her off the ground by her neck while choking her a bit. I then threw her up in the air a bit before delivering a spinning back kick sending her into the river of lava below.
"I WILL KILL YOU WHEN I RETURN!" Ashrah screamed as she fell into the lava. Looking down, I saw her kriss on the floor. I decided to kick it in the lava alongside her.
"Well, that bitch will be gone for a few days." Erron said as he came up next to me.
"Yup. At least it will give us a few days of no headaches from her." I said as I started to create a portal to ChaosRealm.
"Jaune?" Ruby asked getting my attention.
"Yes, Ruby?"
"Do you think it was a bit much knocking that lady into the river of lava below? Wouldn't knocking her out be better?" She asked.
"It was one of the few ways to shut her up for a while. And remember, she is a demon. She will be back in a few days to annoy us. This will just buy us a few days of peace." I told her as the portal was created and ready for us to use. But Ruby still seemed to think that my actions were a bit extreme.
"Alright. Everyone keep your weapons hidden and be on guard as the laws and culture of ChaosRealm are vastly different than ours." I warned them as we stepped through the portal.
"How bad can...it...be?" Yang started but trailed off when she saw firsthand how chaotic it was. There fights about and just pure chaos all around. Even the environment itself showed chaos in its purest form.
"Pretty chaotic ain't it sugar." Erron said as we stared out in the distance and saw all the chaos that was happening. But Yang did not take kindly to what Erron said.
"What did you say?!" Yang said as she activated her gauntlets with her eyes turning red as her hair going ablaze.
"Easy darling. Just being friendly." Erron said with a smirk. Yang calmed down enough that her hair returned to normal but her eyes stayed red.
"Then don't do it again. And we won't have a problem. Alright cowboy." Yang said with a smile and wink as she grabbed Erron's junk with the silent promise of ripping it off if he does it again. But Erron did not flinch and merely smirked again.
"Got it sweetheart." He said with a wink. Yang simply growled before letting go. But was drawn away when an explosion happened nearby.
"WHAT WAS THAT?" Weiss yelled as she struggled to stay up from the immense explosion.
"Another ritual." Fujin answered as helped Weiss and Ruby regain their balance.
"WHAT KIND OF RITUAL WOULD REQUIRE AN EXPLOSION!?" Weiss yelled out stunned that something would require such a big explosion.
"A ChaosRealm ritual would require one. Here they worship chaos as a religion and the best expression of freedom and change. And they perform rituals to honor it." Nightwolf explained.
"How can anyone live in a place so chaotic?" Blake asked.
"While there are only rumors now, ChaosRealm was supposedly a normal world until the god of chaos, Shinnok, released 'the tempest' upon this world and its inhabitants. This caused the world's transformation and fragmentation. It also caused all the inhabitants of the realm to have amnesia. And when they woke up, they saw all this as a gift of the gods. In turn they started to worship chaos as a religion. So, all this is natural to them. But again, this is all a rumor. No one really knows what happened here." I answered her.
"Is there any way to reverse it Jaune?" Pyrrha asked.
"That would not be advisable. Let us leave it like this. Beyond each door, lies a secret best kept hidden." Fujin answered. I nodded agreeing with him.
"That wasn't cryptic at all. But where are we going now Jaune?" Asked Yang.
"Actually, we are already here. The palace where the so called 'queen' resides. She keeps the kamidogu here and makes sure it is heavily guarded at all times." I answer her as we made our way to the doors of the palace.
"I am surprised that there is a queen in this place. I figured it would have no form of government or democracy or anything considering how chaotic this awful place is." Weiss said.
"You are correct. There is no actual form of government here. The title 'queen' was given to this person because she was the leader of her people and freed them from Outworld. Other than that, she has no real power over the people here." Kenshi explained.
"So, it's just a title bearing no power." Blake simplified. We all just nodded at this as she was correct.
"WATCH OUT!" I yelled suddenly and tackled Blake and Ruby to the ground as two knives flew right by them.
"WHAT WAS THAT? WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?" Yelled Weiss as she quickly fired ice crystals with her glyphs from where the attack came from. Only to see that there was nothing there. But a moment later she heard something behind her. She quickly turned around and tried to attack with myrtenaster but was blocked and then had a palm strike her on her nose. And then was tossed away by a kick to the throat.
"I see you are still as aware as ever Jaune. Your company however, are easy pickings." The voice of the person said.
"Skarlet. Good to see you again." I said as I helped Ruby up while Blake and Yang went to help Wiess up who was recovering from the attack. Ren, Nora and Pyrrha had their weapons pointed at Skarlet.
"Who is this lady Jaune?" Growled Weiss as she came up to us.
"This is Skarlet." I answered her.
"Why is she in all red Jaune-Jaune?" Asked Nora.
"How did we not notice her before?" Blake asked the more sensible question.
"Those two questions go hand in hand actually. She is a kunoichi. Meaning a female ninja. But her most dangerous ability, which is also what helped her in sneaking up on us, is blood magic. She has complete control over blood. And she can even transform into a puddle of blood and move about easily without too much worry about detection. She even has the ability to teleport. And the color of her apparel is to match her ability." I explained.
"COOL! SHE IS LIKE A VAMPIRE!" Ruby and Nora shouted excited which slightly put off Skarlet.
"I am no vampire." Skarlet said irritated. She may be more friendly now but one thing she hates above all else is being called a vampire. Mainly because of Johhny and Cassie Cage and their constant teasing and joking about it.
"Whatever you say bride of Dracula." Yang teased which caused Skarlet to growl even more and the other kombatants to sigh in annoyance.
'She really needs to learn to take things seriously. Especially when it comes to fighting people with abilities you have never seen before or are far more experienced than you.' I thought before turning to face Skarlet directly.
"Why are you all here anyway? With irritating company none the less." Skarlet asked with a growl.
"We need to speak with Nitara." Fujin answered.
"It is of great importance that we do." Nightwolf added.
"And we won't take no for an answer." Erron finished. Skarlet look pensive about this for a moment before relenting.
"Fine. Follow me." She said as she went up to the doors and opened it and allowed us in where she then guided us to the throne room
"Jaune." Pyrrha said while tapping my shoulder getting my attention.
"Yes Pyrrha?" I asked as I turned to her.
"Who is this Nitara? I remember you and the others talking about her before but never went into detail about her." She asked.
"Nitara is a vampire. She is the one who freed her people from Outworld and became 'queen' of this place. She is also a friend of ours to put it lightly." I answered her.
"So, this one is a vampire Jaune?" Ruby asked suddenly.
*Sigh* "Yes, Ruby. She is a vampire. But she is not like anything you have seen in movies or in books or anything else." I told her. She immediately deflated a bit at hearing this.
"We are here." Skarlet said as she pushed open the doors. Inside was a seemingly ordinary room. There were a few pillars around the room. There was a red rug in the center of the room that led to the thrones in the back. On the throne sat a mysterious lady that had a gothic look and wings.
"Good to see you Jaune." Nitara said with a chuckle.
"Nice to see you too Nitara." I replied with a smile.
"What do I owe the pleasure of you finally coming back to see me? Especially with company." She asked with a purr as she came close to me. If this was years ago, I would have blushed a bit at her closeness. But after so many times along with the training from Scorpion and Kenshi, I grew immune to it. Doesn't mean that Pyrrha didn't feel jealous when she did that. As evident by her clinging to my arm with a small growl.
"And I see you got a lover. But still, what is the reason for your visit?" She asked getting impatient.
"There is a crisis on our hands." I answered her.
"I can tell. But what exactly is happening and how does it concern me and my people?" She asked as she returned to her throne. Skarlet joining her a moment later on the seat next to her. I turned to the others and silently asked if I should tell everything or not. They looked at each other for a moment, silently debating if I should or not. A moment later they turned back to me and nodded.
"Onaga has returned along with his undefeatable army." I told her. This got the attention of not only Nitara but Skarlet and every single guard in here.
"Don't mess with me Jaune." Nitara said glaring at me with uncertain eyes."
"He is not messing around. Onaga has indeed return." Fujin said stepping up. Nitara still didn't seem convinced.
"Are you sure it was not an illusion or that vile sorcerer Shang Tsung?" She asked hoping that was the case.
"That damn sorcerer is long dead. So yeah, we are sure it's Onaga." Erron said casually.
"We also went to the temple where his army is located to find it empty. Only to narrowly escape death as Onaga came through a portal with his army and attacked us." Kenshi added.
"So, the dragon king has returned. This is troublesome. But I am assuming you all are preparing an attack against him. Am I correct?" She asked.
"Yes, we are preparing an assault on their base once we find it and gather as many warriors who are willing to fight and gather the rest of the kamidogu." Nightwolf answered.
"And you require the ChaosRealm kamidogu as well. That's why you came- wait. I just noticed you said 'their' and not 'his.' Why is that?" She asked.
"That is cause Onaga is not the only threat. There is another threat and that threat is from another universe and has teamed up with Onaga." I explained.
"That explains why the new company you brought here are so different that ones we typically see and why that one has cat ears despite her poor attempt at hiding it." Nitara said in understanding. While Blake quickly adjusted her bow to make sure it was on properly.
"Don't worry. It is not noticeable unless you are always looking for the little things or are very perceptive. But now we need to discuss on how to defeat and what you are willing to do in return for the kamidogu." She said as she got up from the throne and walked towards us.
"Actually, we are planning on cashing in that favor you owe us for reuniting you with your daughter." I told her as she got up right in front of us.
"As glad and thankful as I am for your help in helping me reunite with Skarlet, this require even more than the favor is worth." She countered back.
"I knew you would say that. What do you want in return?" I asked her while mentally preparing for she was going to say.
"To have my people and me join you in the fight against this new threat and Onaga." She answered which caught me off guard a bit.
"Can you run that by me again?" I asked to make sure I heard her correct.
"You heard me. In exchange for the kamidogu, you will let me and my people join you in the fight against the Dragon king. Is that a problem?" She asked a bit annoyed at having to repeat herself.
"Actually no. We would gladly accept your help. It's just that we were already going to ask you for your help." I explained.
"Looks like we just saved some time because of that. Very well. I will give you the ChaosRealm kamidogu. Just make sure you keep us informed on everything. Or there will be consequences." Nitara warned as she ordered some guards to get the kamidogu.
"Here then. This should keep you informed." Erron said as he handed Nitara a small device. "It's a mission briefing reminder. Just press the button on the side and it will tell you all you need to know and will be updated as time goes on."
"Convenient." Nitara said as she took the device and examined it. As she was examining it, the guards returned with the Kamidogu in hand.
"Here it is. Now you can go. And remember our deal." Nitara said as I took the kamidogu, stored it away and began to create a portal to OrderRealm while she returned to her throne. I simply nodded before saying goodbye and stepping through the portal with the others following right after.
"That was interesting." Weiss said as we stepped out of the portal.
"Yeah, it was." Yang agreed.
"Is it true Jaune?" Ruby asked.
"Is what true Ruby?" I asked her.
"That you helped reunite that lady with her daughter?" She asked.
"Yes, it's true. It's a long story. But to put it short, Skarlet was a small child before Shao Kahn found her and kidnapped her. He then kept her imprisoned for a long time. At one point, Shao Kahn had Shang Tsung transform her into one of his deadly assassins. She forgot who she was after the transformation was complete. But years later after Shao Kahn was defeated and Kotal Kahn took over, Skarlet went to one of our enemies named Havik where he taught her blood magic and enhanced her powers. But after Havik was killed and the blood code was removed from her, she began to have flashbacks to her previous life before becoming an enforcer for Shao Kahn. While in that state, she became dangerous because of her flashbacks and not knowing who to trust. After a while, we found her near her breaking point in Shang Tsung's flesh pits. We offered her our help. At first, she seemed hesitant but eventually agreed and after a long process, she remembered who she truly was. During one trip to Outworld, we ran into Nitara who was still looking for after all these years. And that's pretty much it. They were reunited and have been a family again for a long time." I answered her.
"That was a nice thing you did Jaune." Pyrrha said as she wrapped her arms around me and gave me a quick peck on the cheek.
"Where are we this time?" Ren asked.
"Seido, or as many people have come to call it, OrderRealm." Kenshi answered.
"So, the polar opposite of ChaosRealm?" Blake asked. As soon as she finished that, some people rushed by with some Seiden guards chasing after them.
"Careful." I said as I pulled the Pyrrha and Ruby into the alleyway with the other kombatants doing the same with the others.
"What's wrong? There were just some people running from others." Asked Weiss.
"Shouldn't we help them?" Asked Ruby.
"This is why I hate traveling to Seido." Erron said with the others agreeing as well.
"Why? What is wrong?" Asked Ren.
"Seido is a controversial realm." I began explaining quickly to them. "Despite its name, it can be argued that here is even more chaotic than ChaosRealm. Even the citizens here are more like those of ChaosRealm. Where they fantasize more about abstract things instead of life and death. Here it is the most difficult to reside as the laws are harsh and swift and rarely ever just. Here, law and order and structure prevail above all else. Not to mention, the realm is in constant war due to its policies and strict laws."
"Damn. This place sounds like a dictatorship. How do people even live here?" Asked Weiss.
"That is something best left to them. Let us leave now, it is almost night time and if they spot us, they would either try and kill us or imprison us." Fujin warned. I looked towards the sky and saw that the light was going down which meant that curfew would be in affect soon.
"Your right Fujin. Let's hurry." I said before checking to make sure the coast was clear before leaving the alleyway and headed south.
"Where is the kamidogu here Jaune?" Asked Ren.
"In the courtroom near the center of the realm." I answered him.
"Why in a courtroom? Shouldn't it be in a more heavily guarded place instead if it's so powerful?" Weiss asked.
"That's because it is heavily guarded and the courtroom is the last place anyone wants to be. It is where they decide your fate and rarely has anyone been found innocent." Fujin explained to her.
"So, how are we going to get it than Jaune?" Yang asked.
"Through the resistance. They can get us to the courtroom safely without much trouble." I answered.
"Theres a resistance here?" Ruby asked.
"Yes. They were formed and led by Darius. Their goal is to oppose the Seidan Guards and the strict policies of OrderRealm." Nightwolf answered.
"And how do you know this Darius and his resistance will help us?" Weiss said through narrow eyes.
"Because we owe him for helping us in gaining a lot of ground in opposing the guards and helping turn the tide against them many times." A new voice said from the alleyway next to us suddenly causing everyone to draw out their weapons ready to fight. The figure soon stepped out from the darkness to reveal a bald man with a goatee that was wearing yellow sunglasses. He was sporting a gold and black vest, black gloves, baggy blue pants and huge yellow boots with shin guards.
"Darius. Good to see you. Still looking forward to resisting arrest?" I asked with a chuckle.
"Yes. Now what brings you back to OrderRealm? Here to permanently join the resistance?" He asked with a smile but I simply shook my head to say no. He was always trying to get me to join them but I always said no as this conflict was between them and the seidan guards. But I do help with what I can whenever I come here or when needed badly.
"Damn. That's a shame. If you're not here for that, then what are you here for?" He asked while staring down the others. Mainly Team Rwby and my team.
"Let's discuss this in a safer location as curfew is upon us and we don't need to call attention to us. At least not yet." I told him. He seemed to think for a moment before nodding.
"While I would have preferred to say it here to mock the guards, I agree we don't need the attention right now. Follow me." He said before turning around and walking back into the alleyway. Me and the other followed with hesitation though the others were uncertain but still followed albeit hesitantly. Going down the alleyway, we soon came to the end of it. In front of us there was a wall that belonged to the house in front of us. Looking over to Darius, I saw him chant a spell and a second later, a door appeared on the wall. Going over to it, he knocked a few times and waited. A moment later and the door was opened by someone on the other side.
"Come in." Darrius said ushering us inside.
"What is this place?" Pyrrha asked as she looked around. Everything was organized but in a chaotic kind of way.
"One of our bases to hide from the Seidan Guards. Now what business do you have?" Darius asked as he went around the table in the center of the room and sat down on one of the chairs.
"Let's cut to the chase as we don't have a lot of time. We need your help in getting the kamidogu." I answered him.
"The kamidogu? What could possibly be happening that would require you to collect them?" He asked suspiciously.
"The Dragon King has returned. That's why we need the kamidogu." I answered him. At my answer, he nearly fell out of his chair which caused Ruby, Nora and Yang to giggle a bit.
"THE DRAGON KING RETURNED AGAIN?!" He shouted in disbelief.
"Yes. Thanks to Kronika's hourglass breaking and basically going out of control, it brought Onaga back from the dead along with his army." I explained to him which caused him to break out in cold sweat.
"That is a good reason to collect the kamidogu. Alright, I'll help you get it." Darius said after taking a minute to compose himself.
"Wait. That's it? No bargaining? Or demanding a favor in return? Nothing?" Weiss asked stunned that he didn't want anything in return as she always expected something in return when dealing with things like this.
"Like I said earlier, we owe him. And the dragon king is a serious threat that must be taken care of as quickly as possible. Plus, helping them get the kamidogu will piss of the Seidan Guards even more and I am always up for that." He explained with a smirk. Luckily, he hasn't told the others of how cruel and crude their tactics can be when dealing with the Seidan Guards.
Turning around, he started to create another portal to take us near the courtroom. After a few seconds, the portal was ready. With a nod, we followed Darius into the portal. Coming out of the portal, we saw that we were in the courthouse. It was very organized and seemed to be seated for many judges rather than one and there was no jury. But what really caught our attention was the kamidogu on the pedestal nearby.
"Cool. We found it. That was quick." Ruby said excitedly.
"And easy." Yang added smugly.
"Too easy." Weiss said suspiciously.
"Where are the guards? I thought you guys said this place was heavily guarded." Blake said while on edge. She even had her weapon out and ready. Which was a good thing as a moment later we were all blinded by a sudden bright light. We were all stunned and it took us a moment to regain our ability to see. And when we did, we found ourselves surrounded by Seidan Guards with Hotaru in front.
"We are here. I easily expected Erron Black and Darrius to do this. I thought you were better than this Jaune. I thought I taught you to obey and follow order and law. But I see I was mistaken. However, I must thank you for bringing the leader of the resistance to us. With his imprisonment, the resistance will surely be crushed thus showing law and order always prevail." Hotaru exclaimed.
"Who's this Jaune-Jaune?" Asked Nora as she transformed her hammer into its grenade launcher form.
"That is Hotaru. He is the leader of the Seidan Guards. And a cruel enforcer of the laws and policies of OrderRealm." I answered her while getting into a fighting stance.
"I only enforce the laws as need be. For without them all this would be destroyed." He said as if he never committed anything cruel.
"BY RSTRICTING THEIR FREEDOM?!" Weiss suddenly yelled out shocking us. But then I remembered. While we rarely even said hello to each other before everyone learned about my Mortal Kombat past, I did learn how restricted her life was before Beacon. How she could barely do anything because of how her father basically controlled her life.
"Freedom is disallowed here because freedom leads to anarchy, anarchy leads to chaos and chaos will lead to suffering." Hotaru countered. This only served to anger Weiss more.
"Enough talking. Guards. Arrest them." Hotaru ordered the guards.
The guards charge at and we began fighting them. But this time was a bit different which made me worry a bit. None of the other kombatants were fighting Hotaru. Team RWBY and my team were facing Hotaru. While Hotaru wasn't exactly the deadliest fighter, he was creative in his abilities. Not to mention, his ability to project lava is deadly to those who can't counter it. And I can't help them right now as there were too many guards on me. Same with the others. I just hope they don't get hurt too much before one of us get the chance to help them.
Pyrrha P.O.V.
'Damn, this guy is annoying and tough.' I thought as I rolled out of the way of the magma ball he threw at me. Only to quickly raise my shield to block an attack from his naginata. Only to be kicked in the back as he quickly slid past me and kick me in the back.
Yang tried to get in close but every time she did, he would blind her again, leaving her wide open to an attack. Ruby speed did allow her get in a couple of hits on him which allowed Blake to try and finish him off. But he quickly learned and managed to counter Ruby by using his own abilities. Mainly by sliding across the floor leaving a trail of lava behind. Nora was able to hurt him quite a bit with her hammer and strength. And she nearly defeated him but failed when he threw a magma ball at the ground which for some reason caused her to fly up into the air for a bit which allowed him to grab Nora and toss her into Blake and Yang who were trying to sneak up on him and attack him from the rear. The ones who were having the easiest time against him were Weiss and Ren who decided to attack him at range. Ren with his weapon stormflower and Weiss with her glyphs. This gave me an idea.
"Weiss, use your time dilation glyph to slow him down. I have a plan." I told her. I began telling her. Ren and Nora who just got back up about my plan. They seemed a bit hesitant since there were many others around who could get hit in the crossfire but agreed none the less.
A moment later we were ready. I had transformed my weapon into its carbine form with Nora ready to launch grenades at Hotaru. Yang and Blake were distracting Hotaru but were struggling to not get hit by his lava abilities when he blinds them. Ruby was trying keep him off balance by zooming around him with her semblance and striking him with crescent rose.
"NOW!" I told them. Weiss activated her time dilation glyph which slowed down Hotaru by a lot. Nora the shot all of her grenades at him which weekend him a lot. Ren and I kept shooting to stop him from countering or moving away from what would hit him next. Ruby used her semblance to toss him off balance and dizzy which worked this time. Blake then used Gambol Shroud and used its ribbon part to wrap around Hotaru and fling him in the air where Yang and Nora then leapt into the air and hit him hard sending him into ground unconscious.
"Damn, that was tough. Who knew people here could wield lava like he does?" Weiss asked as she struggled to catch her breath.
"It goes to show how under prepared we are in the grand scheme of things. Makes you wonder how Jaune survived all this and how skilled he actually is." Ren said as he turned to look at Jaune. At this, we all turned back to see Jaune taking on about eight guards at once and not getting hurt at all before killing them all.
'He really is too dangerous for one person to take on.' I thought as I saw him do all this. But put on a smile when he turned to us came running to us.
'I'll worry about it later.' I thought as he reached us.
Jaune P.O.V.
I came rushing towards the rest of my team and Team RWBY as soon as I finished off the guards that were on me. They were annoying and I wished I could have killed them more brutally for stopping me in helping the others. But I had no time so they were granted a quick death. But as I finished them and rushed to me them, I stopped when I saw they defeated Hotaru as he was unconscious in a small crater.
"I see you guys managed to defeat Hotaru. Not bad. Though are you guys okay?" I asked concerned.
"We're fine Jaune. A little winded but fine." Ren answered before wincing a bit. "Maybe a little burnt from getting near his attacks."
"Don't worry. When we get back to the special forces base, we will get that taken care of." I told him. At that moment, the other kombatants finished with the rest of the Seidan Guards.
"That was annoying. Now let's get the kamidogu and get before more guards show up." Erron said as he reloaded his weapons.
"Your right. Let's get it and get going. The less time we spend here the better. Thanks for your help Darious." I told him as I grabbed the kamidogu while Fujin created a portal to the special forces base.
"Pleasure is all mine. Especially since we just defeated Hotaru which will greatly help us in our plans." he said with a laugh before grabbing Hotaru and dragging him off to another spot. Possibly to kill him.
"The portal is ready. Let us leave." Fujin said before stepping into the portal. With us following a moment later. Stepping into the portal we found ourselves in the special forces base with Jax, Johhny and their kids sparring a bit. They stopped when they saw us coming through the portal.
"Hey Scorps junior. Welcome back." Johhny said with a laugh. I heard Cassie, Jax and Jacqui groan while I merely rolled my eyes at his nickname for me.
"Hey Cage. Got good news." I said to him as the rest came up to us.
"You finally got laid?" Cassie said causing everyone to stumble a bit as we did not expect her to say this even though we should have considering she is Cage's daughter.
"You got the kamidogu?" Jax said while he and Jacqui glared at Cassie who was laughing along with Johhny.
"Yes. Got them here." I answered him as I handed him the container that held the kamidogu over to him. "But I also managed to recruit some more warriors to fight."
"That's good. The more we have, the better. Who did you get?' Jax asked as he handed the kamidogu to another soldier and telling him to put it with the rest.
"Nitara and her people. They want to fight alongside us against the dragon king and his army." I answered him while going over to the console and inputting the coordinates for Outworld.
"Damn. What did you do to convince her to join? I thought she would not have wanted to be part of this fight." Johhny asked.
"Actually, she would not give us the kamidogu if we did not allow her and her people to join the fight." I explained.
"Well, either way. It's good now that we have an even bigger force behind us." Jax said.
"But now, we need the Shokan and Tarkatans. We are definitely going to need their help and support." Johhny added.
"And that is where we are going now." I said as I finished inputting the coordinates with the portal ready a moment later.
"Good. Now remember how to they are." Jax warned.
"Of course." I said to him before going through the portal with the others following me right after.
"What did he mean Jaune? And where are we this time? A desert?" Asked Yang.
"Basically, how they are in terms of culture and how they see certain things. And we are in Outworld this time. The wastelands of Outworld to be precise. The desert parts of it anyway." I answered her.
"Now that we have the kamidogu, we are here to recruit others. The Shokan or Tarkatans, am I correct?" Asked Ren.
"The Tarkatans. Yes. They are going to be a bit hard to find as they travel a lot. Even after being granted protection and part of Outworlds army, they still prefer to live as nomads." I answered him.
"How we are going to find them is the question we need to ask." Erron said as he came up next to me and started to see if he could spot their camp from here.
"I could have Hana scout out a bit to see if she can find the camp." Nightwolf suggested.
"I can try and see if I can find any trace of them." Erron added.
"Um, Jaune?" Ruby asked.
"Not now Ruby." I said before returning to the conversation.
"Perhaps I could fly up and see if I can spot their camp from up there." Fujin said.
"How about you Kenshi?" I asked him
"I am not too sure how useful I would be in tracking them. But if we are near one, I would be able to sense it and tell you immediately." He answered.
"Jaune?" Weiss asked.
"Give me a moment Weiss. We need to find a way to find the Tarkatans." I told her.
"Can't you pick up their scent Jaune?" Erron asked.
"What do I look like? A fucking dog?" I asked him kind of insulted.
"Didn't reptile teach you hone in on your sense of smell and teach you how track people or creatures with it?" Kenshi asked.
"Yes he-" I started but was caught off by Yang.
"JAUNE!" She yelled out getting our attention.
"WHAT! What do you- oh." I began to aske but stopped when turned and saw the reason why they kept trying to get my attention. There was about twenty tarkatans surrounding them.
"I see what the problem is." I stated as I looked around to see if I could find Baraka but I couldn't find him.
"You think." Blake said angrily while never taking her eyes off the tarkatans while clearly resisting the urge to vomit from how bad they smell.
"State your business here." One of the tarkatans threatened as they all showed off their arm blades.
"We are here to see Baraka. We come with urgent warning." Fujin answered calmly.
"Why should we take you to Baraka?" Another tarkatan asked.
"For if you don't, we shall tell Kitana Kahn of your refusal to help while the realms are in danger." I answered. This caused them to look at each for a moment in hesitation before retracting their blades.
"Fine. We will take you to see Barak. Follow us." One of them said before turning around and leading us back to their camp.
Ten minutes later
We were soon entering their camp they had made for the time being before they move again. It was uneventful the trip for the most part. That was until we entered the camp and everyone started to look at us. It made Tema RWBY and my team nervous as evident by them holding tight onto their weapons. Luckily, we were able to calm them down before the tarkatans noticed otherwise we would be in for a big fight. A few moments later and we were in the center of the camp.
"What are we waiting for?" Pyrrha asked.
"We are waiting to meet Baraka so we can start talking." Kenshi answered.
"I am here you imps. Now what do you all want?" Asked Baraka as he came up to us from the crowd.
"We need your help Baraka." I answered him while stepping up to him.
"For what reason do you require our help? And why should we help you either way?" He growled.
"The realms. No, the universe is in danger again Baraka. And this time, from an even bigger threat than Kronika." I told him. All the tarkatans started whispering among themselves at this, clearly worried at this new revelation.
"Who is this new threat?" He asked.
"Onaga the Dragon King and his undefeatable army." I answered him. This caused him to widen his eyes in shock with the other tarkatans to now really worry.
"How did he return? For him to be revived, a suitable vessel must be near his egg." Baraka asked wanting an answer.
"Normally yes. He would near a suitable vessel near the dragon egg in order to be revived. But this is not the case this time." Kenshi said.
"Then how was he revived?" Baraka growled losing patience.
"He was not revived as the prophecy foretold. But due to Kronika's hourglass. It had shattered and gone out of control. It had affected Onaga and brought him back to life including his army." I answered him. He seemed to consider this a possibility but still seemed unconvinced that I was telling the truth.
"How do I know this is not a trick by Kotal Kahn in an attempt to kill us?" He asked growling at the thought.
"You do remember Kitana is now Kahn, right? She and Jade would also have Kotal by his balls if he would even think that. And kill him without hesitation in the worst way possible if he even tried to do something like that." Erron countered.
"Hmmmm. That is true. Another reason why we hold Kitana and Jade to such a high degree. But what is in it for us if we choose to help?" He asked.
"Aside from not dying, what do you want?" Erron asked.
"A steady supply of food and no interruptions on our blood ritual ceremony." He answered. We all huddled together to discuss it.
"That's a tall order. The food supply might be workable though." Erron said.
"But the blood ritual ceremony is another." Kenshi added.
"Kitana nor Sindel will be for it." Fujin reminded us.
"We might be able to swing Kitana for it with a compromise if we set some rules for it. But Sindel will be harder." Nightwolf said.
"Maybe Scorpion can convince Sindel?" Erron asked. This made me raise an eyebrow.
"What makes you say that?" I asked him skeptical of what he means.
"They have been spending a lot of time together. Maybe they have something that they would like to keep secret for the moment?" Fujin said with a smirk.
"You might be getting a new ma soon Jaune." Erron said with a smug grin that made me want to kick him right between the legs. But knowing time was limited and we still need to meet up with the Shokan made me sigh before giving an answer.
"I'll try and see what happens. But for right now, we don't have many options so let's do it." I told them. They nodded in agreement before we turned back to face Baraka who was getting really annoyed because of Ruby asking him questions about his blades and teeth.
"We agree to your conditions." I told/shouted to get his attention away from Ruby.
"Good. Then you will have our support in the battle." He said pushing Ruby away.
"Here. This will keep you up to date and informed about the battle. Just press the button on the side for it to activate." Kenshi told him as he handed him a similar device to the one Erron gave Nitara. Baraka simply nodded before leaving back into the crowd while the rest returned to what they were doing.
"Okay. Tarkatans have joined us. Now for the Shokan." I said as I created a portal that will take us Kuatan where the Shokan are located. Stepping through it, we found ourselves in front of the gates that lead to the throne room where Queen Sheeva usually is.
"Now a word of advice before we enter. Do not show fear or hesitation. The Shokan see that as weakness. And showing weakness means you are not worthy of anything. No matter what happens, don't back down." I warned them before turning around and pushing the gates open.
Inside was what one might consider a typical layout of a throne room. Big and spacious. But what set this one apart was the fact that it was sparse in decorations and all the treasure that was used as tribute to the queen was by the throne. There were also skeletons and bones as well by the throne. And sitting on it was a giant four-armed creature that looked like it could easily crush anyone that dared cross paths with it.
"Queen Sheeva. We demand an audience." I announced loudly catching everyone's attention.
"Jaune. Such boldness barging in here unannounced. What do I owe the pleasure of you coming here?" She asked getting up from her throne.
"We have a crisis on our hands Sheeva." I told her.
"And this requires my attention why?" She asked annoyed as she found no reason that she needs to know this.
"We require you and your people aid in kombating this threat." I told her.
"What benefit do we gain if we even join you? And what threat requires you to come asking for our help?" She asked.
"The dragon king Onaga has returned along with his army. He plans not just to merge the realms but another separate universe." I told her.
"So, it is true. Onaga has returned. And it seems he is even more powerful than before. Even more reason to not join as we do not know who the victor will be." Sheeva said returning to her throne and sitting down.
"We will be the victor your highness." Erron said tauntingly while tightly gripping his revolver.
"How so?" Sheeva asked while tightly gripping her throne silently daring Erron to call her that again.
"We are already gathering the support of many warriors and groups to help. Many of whom have already started training and preparing." Fujin answered.
"Like I told Kitana before, there-" Sheeva started but Nightwolf cut her off.
"We already have the support of the tarkatans. They have agreed to join us in battle against the dragon king." He said getting her attention.
"Even with the tarkatans help, my people won't rally to someone who they don't think will win." She countered. I was about to try and convince her again but Yang interrupted me.
"Why won't you help? Are you scared?" Yang said suddenly. At hearing what she just said, I just hang my head down and I could feel the others do the same.
"And who are you so say such bold words?" Sheeva asked getting up from her throne again and stepping down to face Yang.
"Yang. Yang Xiao Long. Proud member of Team RWBY." Yang answered while fist bumping her sister.
"Ha. Such childness. You would do wise to be quite when the elders are talking." She advised Yang.
"Hey, we are not childish!" Ruby said with a pout. "And Jaune is our age. How come he can talk freely?"
"Because he earned his right to speak and has fought and clawed his way out of dangerous fights to earn the respect of many." Sheeva answered.
"And how do we earn our right to speak?" Weiss asked but you could clearly tell it was more of a challenge than a question.
"Weiss, that is a bad idea." I whispered to her hoping she would stop but she didn't.
"You would not survive as none of you seem like warriors and are but mere children" Sheeva answered.
"WE ARE NOT CJHILDREN!" Ruby yelled out as she always hated being called a child. She didn't mind too much with Yang and family but with others she hated it.
"Even throwing a child's tantrum. You are all clearly children. Why did you bring them here Jaune?" She asked.
"Honestly, I forget why they are even here at this point. But to answer, we brought them here not by choice but necessity." I answered her.
"My people and I won't rally behind someone who can't even control their own warriors. Even more reason to not take part in this battle. We are finished now, leave." She said before returning to her throne again.
"Damn. Alright everyone. Let's go." I said with a sigh as I started to make our way out.
"Hold up vomit boy. We are not done here." Yang said grabbing onto my shoulder.
"We are done here. You young ones just ruined our chance for more help." Fujin said sternly with disapproval heavy in his voice.
"This is why I hate working with kids." Erron said as he shook his head.
"We are not kids!" Ruby said again while getting out crescent rose and aiming it at Erron which didn't faze him at all.
"Yet what you just showed us proved without a shadow of a doubt, that you are kids not ready for the real world." Nightwolf added which caused most of them to growl. Mainly Yang, Ruby and Weiss.
"They are correct. You three just acted like children." Blake deadpanned.
"And ruined any chance they had at getting more allies." Ren added glaring at the three.
"We will correct it and prove we are not children." Yang said to her.
"Why are you all still here? Leave before I force you all out." Sheeva warned which reminded me that we were still in her throne room.
"You, you will help us!" Yang yelled out.
"You have no authority nor position to demand anything of me. Nor do I have obligation to help." Sheeva said angrily.
"How about a challenge then? We challenge you to whatever they call it." Yang asked her with her eyes glowing red.
"You mean Mortal Kombat?" Sheeva asked.
"They're dead." Erron deadpanned.
"Pretty much." Kenshi said agreeing as well.
"Yes, that. We challenge you to Mortal Kombat!" Yang said with Ruby and Weiss backing her up.
"Very well. I accept your challenge." Sheeva said while cracking her fingers a bit.
Yang, Ruby and Weiss all charged at Sheeva hoping to overwhelm her but failed. Sheeva simply stomped on the ground causing them to fall on the ground from the tremor she caused. She then grabbed Ruby who got up and then slammed her into the ground behind her. Yang tried to attack but was grabbed by the waist by Sheeva's two bottom hands and then punched a few times in the face before being tossed away. Turning around, she saw that Weiss was trying to something she was not sure about (summoning Arma Giga's) so she decided to stop it by stomping on the ground causing Weiss to stumble a bit causing her to lose focus. Sheeve then followed this up by jumping into the air and slamming feet first into Weiss causing her to hit the ground hard. A sudden shout drew her attention. Turning around, she saw that Ruby and Yang were charging at her again. Pulling her arms together, she shot four fireballs at them. Three of which hit Ruby causing her to go down and get burned badly while the fourth missed both Yang and Ruby. But did not matter as she did a small jump on the ground causing a tremor under Yang which in turned caused her to lose her balance and fall to the ground. But before she could get up, Sheeva slammed her foot into her head cracking the skull and then slammed her foot into her back breaking her spine. She then picked her up and tossed her away. At this moment Weiss was getting up while trying to summon a glyph to attack. Sheeva charged at her before she could complete the glyph and punched her four times with each of her arms. She then grabbed her shield and slammed it into Weiss stomach spike first. And then pushed even deep with her hands slamming into it. She then took her shield back and spun around once then performing an uppercut with the spikes around the shield causing them to slice upwards Weiss's stomach. Turning the shield while in the air, Sheeva then slammed it into Weiss chest with the spikes causing her to fall to the ground from the impact and then took it out and slammed it into her once more time before kicking Weiss away.
"You are next young one." She said referring to Ruby who was slowly getting up while using her weapon as support. Though as Sheeva was making her way over to her, a banshee scream caught us all off guard forcing us to cover our ears.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Sindel said as she stepped through the gates followed by Raiden, Kitana and Kotal Kahn.
"My queen. What brings you here?" Sheeva said as she bowed down in respect to her.
"When I heard that Jaune and company were coming here to try and get your help, I knew I had to come to his aid as you were always quite stubborn in these kinds of things." She answered. "And I see you have brutalized two of them."
"They challenged me to Mortal Kombat my queen." Sheeva explained.
"Then this is what they deserve for charging into a fight as fools." Kotal said as he observed Raiden stabilizing Weiss and Yang.
"While I am inclined to argue that this went too far, they do deserve the consequences their actions brought upon them." Raiden said as he helped Weiss up into a sitting position before moving onto Yang.
"Now that you are more calm and have let out your anger, I shall ask you again. Will you be willing to help us in our fight against Onaga the Dragon king and his army?" Sindel asked her.
"But my people won't rally-" She started but was cut off by Kitana.
"They will rally behind you Queen Sheeva. You have never led them astray before and even fought alongside them during the fight against Kronika." Kitana assured her.
"They might not as they won't rally behind one who they don't think will win." Sheeva argued.
"That is where you are wrong Queen Sheeva. Not only have we amassed an army that includes the Tarkatans, but we have also gathered all six kamidogu. Victory shall be ours." Fujin told her.
"Sheeva, I will ask once more and answer honestly. Will you aid us in our battle against the dragon king?" Sindel asked once more.
"Yes, we will aid you in the fight against the dragon king my queen." She answered.
"Good. We will alert you to when we sail off to battle. And thank you for agreeing to help." Sindel said with a smile. She then turned and walked up to me.
"I see we came at a good time Jaune. Did you get the Tarkatans to join the battle?" She asked.
"You did and thanks for helping. And yes, Baraka has agreed to lend his support and join us." I answered her with a smile.
"Good. Then lets us head back and rest. While we have prepared our forces and gathered the kamidogu, we still need to train and be our best to face off against the dragon king and his armies." She said before asking Raiden to make a portal to the Special Forces base. We were about to go in when a voice caught my attention.
"Uh, Jaune? A little help?" Blake asked. Turning to her, I saw that I forgot to unfreeze their feet.
"Oh, right. Sorry." I apologized. I snapped my fingers and the ice melted away freeing them. After seeing Yang, Weiss and Ruby getting overwhelmed, the rest tried to help them but I froze their feet to prevent them from interfering. As if they had interfered then Sheeva would be allowed to have her guards join the fight as well be allowed to brutally kill them.
"Where do we go now Jaune?" Pyrrha asked as she shook her feet to get some of the water out.
"Back to the special forces base to rest. It honestly has been a long day and we need our rest." I answered her. "And a good meal as well." I added when I heard her stomach grumble a bit which caused her to blush.
Heading through the portal, we found ourselves back at base again. Some of us then went to the portal again to get to their respective realms to rest in their own place such as Erron went back to Kotals palace. Once everyone went to their place, and giving living quarters to both teams, I told General Blade of my success in gathering the kamidogu and the Shokans and Tarkatans. Though when no one from Remnant was there, we discussed the preparations on how we actually are preparing to launch the assault on the dragon king and how to respond when and if General Ironwood and others decide to betray us. Fujin once told Kotal that paranoia is the enemy of trust and while that is true, we cannot take such a risk when it comes to Onaga. One mistake and everything/everyone is lost to this Armageddon.
Note: 1. Vaeturnus is the realm of vampires. Here it is connected to ChaosRealm after being separated from Outworld.
2. I know Skarlet isn't the daughter of Nitara. I am just going off a theory I saw a while back about Skalet where she was the daughter of Nitara that Shao Kahn kidnapped. Plus, my friend wanted me to use it so I used it.
3. Kuatan is the home of the Shokan.
