-Souma Uchiha's POV-

After receiving the news about me enrolling to Signal Academy, the entire family are both excited and proud of me. Ruby especially.

"YOU'RE GOING TO SIGNAL ACADEMY NEXT YEAR! AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! YOU'RE SO COOL!"

I see Ruby running for a tackle, I grab hold of her and sweep her feet off the floor, I did a twirl with her as she laughs with stars in her eyes...I'm not going to lie; it feels good to be idolized by your sister.

"Ahahahah thanks Ruby, like you said your brother is the coolest! I'm one step closer being a Huntsman! AHAHAHAHA!"

I placed her down and point my finger towards the ceiling while posing like those heroes we watched on television.

"Yet you still wear that ridiculous transformer onesie when you sleep" (Author: He's wears a Bumblebee Onesie)

Of course, my loving sister have to ruin the moment. I turn to see Yang walking downstairs yawning while scratching her belly it seems that she took a bath just now as some part of her hair is still wet. Mom also walks down while smiling.

"Mom and I heard the commotion from upstairs, so Signal Academy huh? Gotta say bro, I'm both impress and not surprise."

She smiles as she places her arm around me...I can smell the scent from her shampoo...I don't remember mom buying this brand.

"Eh? What makes you say that?"

She looks at me and place both her hands on her hip while smiling.

"You're like...ummm super strong compare to most kids I mean the other kids here in Patch aren't as strong compare to the two of us, plus I also heard from dad that you beat up a student in the academy who's a lot older than you."

"YOU BEAT UP A STUDENT! SO COOOOOL!"

Ruby eyes' sparkle while she eats her cookies. I felt a sweat drop on the back of my head.

"Umm ok first of all. No, I didn't beat anyone up, it was a friendly spar and I won. Second...isn't that my cookies Rubes."

Ruby suddenly jumps by my words and quickly hid the cookies behind her back. I see her sweating like a convicted felon...she slowly walks back hoping that she'll get away cleanly.

"Umm...I have no idea what you're talking about?"

She said witha nervous smile on her face.

"...*Stares*..." I look at her like she thinks she's gonna get away with it.

Ruby then slowly hand me my bag of cookies...I look at it to see almost all of it gone.

"Ah well you can have the rest; I can bake some more with mom."

"Sure thing, it's been a while since we last spend time together...honestly I need a vacation."

Mom laughs at our antics, must have warm her hearts to see her children being this close. True she needs a vacation from her mission. But alas...to me she's out there saving people like a true hero.

While I was having an inner monologue to myself, Ruby's eyes sparkles and leap for the bag munching away what's left of its' content. I turn to see dad talking to Uncle Qrow.

"So, Signal huh? Can't say I'm surprise as well, plus with what Tai's been telling me and our training together, I say you're a prodigy alright."

I smile at his words, it's rare for him to compliment me...though I wish he didn't drink while training me.

"I'm more surprise to hear you say that."

He then took out his flask and begins drinking...and there he goes.

"Well, you beat Lily, right? I'm her teacher in her class, so yea plus I'm more interested in your fight against her if she uses her Semblance."

Her Semblance huh? Now that I think of it, we merely fought hand-to-hand combat.

"What you say is true, it was friendly spar. What's her Semblance if you don't mind me asking?"

I ask but he grins and rubs my head

"Sorry kiddo can't tell you that, by what I can tell you is that it's an annoying Semblance to face in combat be it ranged or close quarter."

Hmm...suddenly Lily pique my interest. I hear dad entering the living room after calling the principal.

"So, I just called the Principal hoping he didn't make any mistake, and to my surprise he was given a suggestion by James to enroll you in the academy due to you being gifted."

The General? Why did he do such a thing? I then see uncle Qrow beat me to it.

"Him...giving suggestion, there must be a catch and I doubt it's simply because he's gifted not that's anything wrong with it."

He said pondering the general's action.

"He's right dad...does he want me to do something for him?"

I'm genuinely curious as to why the sudden recommendation. I dad closing his eyes while contemplating.

"Well, we can talk to General Ironwood on a later date. For now, let's celebrate Souma's enrollment. I better start cooking, Souma be a dear and help me."

Mom place her hands on my shoulder while giving me a warm smile. Dad and Qrow realize this isn't the time to talk about this, not in front of the girls.

"She's right, I'll discuss this with your mother later but for now though, Souma do you wish to enroll if yes then tomorrow I'll head to the academy to sort out the paperwork."

I turn to see Yang and Ruby looking away but I can tell both of them are listening in. Mom merely smile while gently caressing my head.

"Well...I am interested. But...what's the age requirement to enroll."

I see Uncle Qrow scratch his chin and answer.

"Well, the age require is thirteen, the youngest to enrolled was twelve which was last year...which means you'll be the youngest in Signal Academy's history to be enrolled at the age of 7 starting next year."

I smile then Ruby hugs me pouting while Yang puts me in a headlock.

"Damn...I have to wait for six years before I can enroll."

"Awww! I want to enroll as well!"

Ruby rubs her head on my chest, I hug them back grinning.

"Well then, you girls best train your butts off ahahahahaha!" Dad then calls out to me.

"Oh, before I forget, the principal told me there's an available room for you to move in, since there is a dormitory there in Signal."

The girls' eyes turn white and look slightly panicky.

"A dorm? Hmm, it will save us money than travelling there by ship every day."

Ruby looks at me with tears in her eyes.

"Souma! You're leaving!? You don't want stay with me anymore?"

"Umm, Rubes...I think you meant us." Yang looks at her with a deadpan face.

I smile and gently pat her head.

"Nonsense Ruby, I'm your brother. I'll never leave you; I'll be simply moving to a different place but I promise you that I'll visit during the weekend."

She looks at me with a slight doubt on her face.

"Promise?"

She asks as she wipes her tears. I smile and extend my pinkie...seeing this she immediately smiles and did the same.

"Pinkie promise."

"Well, ain't that cute...quite a ladies man aren't you." Qrow said with a grin on his face.

Ruby and I slightly blush and I quickly glare at him. Yang suddenly punches my arm.

"Oww! What's that for?" I winced as I rub my arm.

"Where's my pinkie promise?" She asks.

Umm...I slowly show her my pinkie making her smile and she immediately did the same thing as Ruby...Ruby however looks slightly annoyed that Yang took my attention.

I can hear dad talking to himself.

"Something tells me my daughters will be taken by him..."

"Well, that would be something." Mom said with a smile on her face.

-Summer's POV-

It's half past eleven, after putting the kids to bed. Tai and I are currently sitting on couch in our living with Souma's acceptance letter on the table in front of us.

"What do you make of all this?"

He asks as he scratch his head.

"I'm proud that our son had been accepted...but...I just shake this feeling like something is off."

I hold his hand to ease his mind. He smiles by my action.

"Look, I agree this whole academy thing is a bit iffy but as of now Souma made his decision. All we have to do is be there and support him."

He nods and agree with what I had said.

"Tomorrow we'll contact James and ask why he did it without asking us first on how we feel about it."

He then scoffs while looking away.

"Knowing the General, he's probably said 'It's need to know basis.' type nonsense."

I laugh at his impression of James; he really nailed the Tin Man act.

"Well, we can always ask Ozpin what he thinks. I'm sure he'll be delighted that Souma is accepted..."

And probably added him to his board against the Queen.

"Hey, you alright?"

My husband asks in a worried tone.

"It's Souma...He's been pushing more and more as of late. When he's not with the girls doing solo training...he became a different person of sort. Focus...determination...I'm just worried that one day Souma will see himself as nothing more but a weapon when he's out there alone."

Hunters and Huntresses often work in teams...but something tells me Souma is similar to Qrow. Qrow prefer to be by himself when he work due to his Semblance which is understandable and I would often be in a team due to my specialty in recon.

"Hey, it won't come to that...the girls will knock some sense into him."

I laugh by his comment...yea...the girls will be there for him.

-Vale. Beacon Academy. Afternoon-

-A day after Souma had his Nightmare incident-

-Ozpin's POV-

I'm currently sorting out documents on the new students that have enroll in Beacon Academy...too many paperwork.

*Sip*

I take a sip of coffee from my mug as I look through the documents, that's when I heard a knock on my door.

*Knock Knock Knock*

I look towards the monitor to see standing outside the door. I buzzed her in awaiting her news.

"Sir, General Ironwood has just arrived and he requesting your audience at an early convenience."

I see he's here to update me with Souma's situation...though from the sound of it. It sounds urgent.

"Very well, let him in. I need a distraction from all paperwork. Thank you, that'll be all."

She bows and left my office, then after a few minutes later I heard another knock on my door.

I look at my monitor to see General Ironwood and two Atlas guard, he's ordering his men to stay and guard outside my office...I do wish he didn't bring his men here.

I buzz James in and he smiles as he saw me.

"Professor Ozpin, it's been too long."

I shook his hand as I guide him to his seat. I walk towards my chair and sit on it; James does the same and sits in front of me.

"Come now James, I've told you numerous times to not stand in ceremonial with me."

He laughs and nod.

"Sorry Ozpin, anyways, how are you?"

I shrug and take a sip of my coffee

"The same as always, new students, potential Grimm attack, planning how to deal with the Queen."

He smiles and hand me his documents that he was holding.

"Ah yes, new students will be enrolling soon and speaking of enrolling. I wanted to discuss about Souma enrollment to Atlas academy but we can do that on a later date. Here take a look at this, this is from last week data retrieval from the ruins. I want your input on the matter."

An enrollment at Atlas Academy, my so even the iron wall Ironwood has set his sight on Souma. Regardless, I look through the documents to see familiar symbols and statues that I saw during my last visit with Summer and Qrow. However, one of the documents struck me.

A picture of a journal...why does this symbol look familiar to me. A white and red fan.

"I see the journal have pique your interest, that there is the Uchiha clan Symbol from what Souma told me, you see something interesting had happen yesterday."

I close my hands together and listen to him.

"Oh...do tell."

He points to the document I'm holding.

"Yesterday I went to Signal Academy to visit Souma and Tai. I told Tai that I had found something of interest and requested that he come and visit me."

I look at him then look at the picture, I see the suppose Uchiha clan symbol on the front of it.

"Then I assumed you call for them to meet with you is because you found something of interest in said document."

He sat there quietly.

"Yes. The journal state something of interest regarding a certain fairy tale...one that you're quite familiar with."

My eyes dilate by his words.

"And this tale...would it happens to be about the Four Maidens?"

He nods and look serious.

"Here I brought you a copy of the journal."

A copy? I wonder as he hands me the journal.

"Where's the original?"

He smiles while crossing his leg.

"I've made necessary precaution to make copies of items of interest as of now this is the only copy that you're currently holding. The original is with Souma since he requested it hoping to shed some light onto his origins, I asked Tai to keep an eye out on him if he discovered anything new."

I flip through the pages and recognized one of the symbols...Maidens...so they are connected but how. I created the Maidens in the first place...So how is it that a clan from a by gone era knows about them?

"It seems the clans are more what they seem."

James explained, I place my hand on my chin contemplating

"Clans...there's more than one."

He nods and continue.

"So far from what Souma told us was that there were five clans, The Uchiha which is Souma's clan, The Senju who are a rival clan to the Uchiha and were at war once upon a time. Then there are three unknown clans that took part in that war and to which side they took is yet to be discovered."

I frowned when I heard this...a war. Did the Brothers had a hand in it...did they erased all trace of their existence from this universe. What bothers me the most is that I have no knowledge of these clans despite my years in this world.

"Anything else?"

James shrug and shook his head.

"Other than that, not much except that Souma stated the Journal also contain information of a death of a family."

A death of a family...

"I take it he didn't tell you."

He smiles and scratch his head.

"Nope, he told me that's as far he could translate. However Tai and I knew he was lying but we didn't want to push him."

I nod and smile.

"That was for the best as of now there's way too many questions that need to be answered, we have to be delicate about this James, by now the Queen probably knows about Souma and is planning her next moves...I'm afraid our young friend is in danger."

I see James standing up and walks towards the window there he sees students laughing, talking and enjoying the peace they're having despite the dangers looming.

"Indeed Ozpin, I'm aware of that which is wanted your opinion of enrolling Souma in Atlas Academy. If he's there, I have a better chance of keeping him safe while keeping an eye on him while he lives in a dormitory.

Hmm, cunning as ever. By doing this he could also gauge Souma's strength to create countermeasure in case he ever goes rouge or worse...join the Queen's side.

"I see, does Summer knows about this?"

He shook his head.

"No, I'll informed them once I've settled the matter with Vacuo."

His words caught me off guard.

"Vacuo? I thought we had settled the matter a year ago. What did they do now?"

He groans slightly thinking back the troubles he has to deal with.

"Ever since we've discovered the remains of their fallen soldiers, as you recalled they've been rather fickle when it comes to direct questions as to why they were there in the first place without Vale's permission. Their Council have been secretive about it, and to be honest I don't like it...I think they know something Ozpin."

I adjust my glasses and look at him.

"I see...then by now they should know about Souma."

"Yes, they are aware about Souma yet no plans were made to do anything about since I gave an order to keep an eye on them...I hate to jinx it but sooner or later, they'll do something."

I sigh silently...really now. It's bad enough the Queen is planning on wiping us out now we have to play politics...I'm too old for this.

"Anyways, I better head back to Atlas. Jacques has been pestering me about some Faunus demonstration outside his company and wanted me to deal with them as if I'm some two-bit hustler from a club. Still that man might do something reckless if he's not kept in check, so I best be off. It's good to see you again Ozpin. I'll talk to you later if there's any update."

I smile and walk towards him and shook his hand.

"Yes, thank you, do visit again. Beacon Academy is always open to you."

He smiles and left the room...after he left, I immediately walk towards the desk and contact to enter my office.

After a few minutes, she enters.

"You've called sir?"

I smile and look at her.

"Yes, I've a mission for you. It is of great importance.

She was surprise by my words...I look at the copy of the Journal James left behind...Maidens...Souma, what were clan involve with?

-Grimmlands-

-A day after Souma had his Nightmare incident-

-Salem's POV-

"You've summoned me, my lady?"

A man enters my throne room wearing an indigo suit, he bows before her in a gentleman manner. The man before me is Arthur Watt one of my inner circle.

"Yes, I've call upon you to keep an eye on a certain child."

He looked confused to what I had said. I exude an oppressive aura causing him to sweat.

"Did I stutter?"

I asks causing him to cough.

"No, my lady. Who is this child I'm supposed to keep watch?"

I wave my hand gently in air causing one of my Seer Grimm to appear dancing above the palm of my hand.

I sent the Grimm towards him where he sees an image of a boy below the age of ten.

"I've seen him before my lady...one of Ironwood latest curiosity. He's been documenting information on the boy which correlate to the temple Ozpin had found."

Yes...the temple...when I saw it, there was a sense of familiarity yet strangely...I can't remember. But the...boy...Souma Uchiha. I know him yet I don't remember.

"For now, Watts, the boy is your top priority. I want to know everything about him. Ozpin will probably try to add him to his board..."

He didn't refuse nor ask question on why the boy is important to someone like me. Was it out of loyalty or fear?

No matter. Souma Uchiha...after living for numerous millenniums...why does my heart hurt upon seeing you?
