"Sis are you sure?" Xander asked her.
"Yeah, it's your birthday" Shuri took a sip from her Fanta.
"Guys, this type of radiation can cause astronomical effects to human biology if it isn't monitored closely enough. We need to see how the results of this test come out and then we can celebrate" She argued.
Henry looks down at the metal that was going through testing, "She's right. We don't know what kind of things it could do. Our parents just got engaged and I know that they wouldn't want us doing this and disrupting anything."
"But we might not be able to fully hide anything if the data turns out the wrong way." Ronnie finished.
"Besides, it's nine in the morning, we won't have to call Peter or Grandpa of the others until tonight. Ok?" Henry asked the two youngest of the four.
"Ok" They all go back to doing random things with the specimen that was being tested in the front of their minds.
"beep"
The triplets all looked over to the device.
Shuri knocked on it a few times. "Ronnie how does this thing work?"
"Your thing Einstein, I could barely find out how to properly calibrate it" Ronnie admitted. Xander looked at her surprised, she could usually figure out anything without difficulty. Well, when even Shuri couldn't figure out how to use it, if she could even turn it on, that was amazing.
"Careful, girls come here" Henry told the girls who went to him. The radiation they were dealing with was hazardous and they were only wearing goggles and gloves.
"Extracting in 3...2...1" A small pop filled the room and the metal was plopped on the table.
Ronnie rushed over with the other two close behind her.
"What"
"The"
"Hell"
The metal started glowing, moving, lighting up. The kids moved back from it, no element should have an unapproached reaction like this.
"哦我的上帝!"/OH MY GOD!. Henry shouted as the lights started flickering on and off.
The room started shaking. The metal started gleaming too bright to be looked at directly. Sparks were sent around the room.
"The equipment is getting fried, we need to turn it off" Ronnie yelled looking at the smoking processor.
"Don't die, you just turned thirteen!" Shuri shouted back and Ronnie ran to the equipment before falling to the ground. Lightning bounced from around the room. Ronnie ran under the lab table, trying to stay on the soles of her shoes. The lightning kept going around faster and faster like it was going to evaporate. A loud shriek was heard from the other side of the room where the three were crouching into the staircase. The lightning went to the vibranium disk and instead of bouncing off of it, it went straight through and kept going. Ronnie pushed up with enough strength and jumped over to the machine. She hit the red emergency toggle and the lightning evaporated mid-air where it was heading to the staircase.
"Oh my" Ronnie groaned as she carefully approached the lab table with the disk. Henry ran over and hugged her so tight that she could barely breathe. "I'm okay" she kissed his cheek when she pulled away. "We are all okay right?"
"Yeah sis" Xander answered.
The four all put on rubber gloves and hit the button that tells security that they're ok. They slowly approached the disk that now had a whole chunk missing from the middle.
"What the hell was that? Einstein, there is no known metal that should have that kind of reaction to lightning." Henry took out his phone to take pictures.
"But Vibranium isn't known Salkie" Shuri reasoned because this was insane.
"That kind of lightning isn't either" Ronnie told her. The color was strange, more bright than normal and they had seen some very close up lightning strike videos.
Xander put on some goggles and a brush. "Careful bro" Ronnie told him as he lifted it up. The gray disk now had marks, almost hieroglyphics, near where the hole. He took the brush and dusted it into the petri dish that Ronnie set out. A few specs fell in. This was starting to scare the children, if the HYDRA weapons Red Skull used on their dad didn't make his shield disintegrate, what the hell was this?
"Test it," Xander told Henry.
"Again, you saw how well that worked out last time." Henry really didn't want to touch anything related to that lightning thing.
"Salk, you know the Scientific Method. If a experiment does not go the way you thought it would, you retry the experiment."
"mkay" Henry took the dish and put it under the lamp.
"I think you were wrong about the type of radiation, this is really not good" Shuri tells them
The triplets look at her like she had three heads, not usually were they told that they were wrong. "How"
"You guys see these hieroglyphics right?" The princess pointed to the markings, "there is no type of radiation able to make these on contact, this is something..well..not normal."
"Yay, first aliens flying around New York, then mystical writing, what's next, May wins an Oscar?" Henry says exasperated. He threw his hands on the ground, "guys, please give me a few minutes, figure this out in the meantime." He walked away from them.
"What was that about?" Shuri asked curiously.
"If he gets overwhelmed, he gets a panic attack, he just wants to calm down" the two say together.
Shuri just nodded in agreement before turning back to the processor. "How are we supposed to make this work? It likes how you Americans say 'a pile of crap'"
"We have to do this the old fashioned way" Xander answered. They started mixing the chemicals together and Henry came back fifteen minutes later. Xander got everyone rubber gloves and good UV goggles. "Turn it on Tes"
Ronnie turned the toggle and it started again, only this time more controlled. It was coming closer to the disk. The room started shaking like the first time and the air was getting dense.
"Ok, now turn it and connect!" Xander yelled. Ronnie turned the machine then ran under a desk since they didn't know what would happen if it hit a human. It went through the vibranium making a screeching sound that made them all cover their ears.
"Hit the emergency button, I'm going to turn this off" Ronnie thought to her brothers while she reached to turn off the machine. Henry ran over and hit the alarm. The room stopped shaking. The kids looked around at the room that was next to destroyed, luckily they had emptied the room of all inventions before starting.
The door opened and guards ran in with Steve, Natasha, T'Challa, and U'Wasi behind them.
"What have you done?" the king asked in a worried voice.
"Are you ok" Natasha asked at the same time, slightly embarrassed that her children might've blown up something else because she was making out with her fiance.
"We found something, something that can destroy vibranium" Shuri answered, ushering the usually clamoring room into a dead silence.
The entire room stared at the metal for a few seconds before plans were put in motion. The older scientists took the triplet's notes and pictures so they could get to work.
As everyone rushed around trying to take away the material and notes for retesting, the only thing that the triplets thought was from one of their favorite movies, "I've got a bad feeling about this."
I'm going to see if posting in the night works better for me ILY 3000
