Alright, more action coming up. Where would Sonic be without his nemesis, he's been mentioned a few times and now its time for the big guy to appear. Is Bloonic up to the challenge of fighting the Eggman?
The next day, Bloonic and his family went on a hiking trip in the mountains. The air smelled great and the temperature was warm, it felt so nice to get out from time to time and get some fresh air. Family outings were the best, in fact, Bloonic enjoyed trips to the beach, hiking, picnics and even camping.
Vampirella had put on sunscreen to ensure she didn't get scorched by the sun after being out in daytime for very long, the alien beauty was wearing a straw hat, a black vest, black hiking pants, nice boots and a red t shirt that had the head of a movie vampire villain on it.
Due to years of being outdoors and hanging around in nature, Sonic enjoyed doing a bit of hiking, having gone on a few hikes with Tails and his friends a couple times. He'd temporarily swapped out his trademark shoes with hiking shoes that were red and gray with gold buckles similar to the other shoes.
The scenery looked very decent with smooth green grass, safe meadows, evergreen trees and a view of the world below from the mountaintops. Evergreen Hillside Zone was a fine place to hike or even camp out, Sonic had visited many mountain areas during his adventures, however, he'd never been here before.
Yet the only one in the family who had been here had been Vampirella herself, she'd come here a few times during the first few years of making Earth her new home, it was so remarkable that she knew a lot of places that Sonic never even knew about until well after he'd met her.
The three hikers reached the top of the mountain they were climbing, taking a bit to look out over the valley and the other hills, observing a few towns along with Central City itself. Birds flew over, chirping amongst each other, caws crowing. Another nearby noise got the trio's attention, one noise that sounded familiar...
It sounded like baby babbling, cooing and somebody repeatedly saying the word "chow". "I-Is that what I think it is?" Bloonic said uneasily, he knew what those noises belonged to, he'd seem some of them. Shadow and, of course, dear Cream had tried to introduce the hybrid to those creatures once before.
The experience almost didn't end well when they bit his hand and started swarming him, going crazy. Bloonic often had nightmare-style flashbacks of that day in that garden, he'd vowed then that he would be very careful if he ever encountered any of those creatures again... even if they were harmless.
Sonic, Vampirella and their son looked around and there they were, coming out of the bushes, small and blue with yellow orbs over their heads and cute appearances. The Chao noticed the trio and came forth, Sonic pat one on the head and Vampirella picked one up. However, Bloonic was nervous as a few came up to him.
"They're not gonna hurt you, son." Sonic said, holding a Chao.
"A-Are you sure?" Bloonic asked.
"Its ok, these are Pure Chao. The mean ones are Dark Chao."
Looking down at the Chao near him, the creatures looking up at him with sweet smiles. Bloonic thought about it, even though his last experience with Chao hadn't gone well, at least these things weren't attacking him. If most Chao were friendly, then it didn't hurt to be friends with them.
Finally deciding to not worry about the last time he interacted with creatures like these, Bloonic sat down and started petting the Chao. He spoke with them, introducing himself and assuring them that he was a nice guy. At first, the Chao seemed nervous when he said he was half vampire, but they warmed up to him.
One Chao crawled up Bloonic and sat on his shoulder like a bird, nuzzling its head against his side and saying something in its natural language. "Good little Chao," The hybrid said with positivity, now starting to like Chao, "Who's a good little creature? Its nice that you like people like me."
"I've interacted with these things before." Vampirella remarked, getting out a bottle and starting to feed some Chao, "As a matter of fact, I visited a couple colonies and Chao gardens. In fact, these Chao have been living here on the mountains for ages now. Looks like this place is a Chao Hill."
"First we have Chao Gardens and now a Chao Hill." Sonic said curiously, "Wonder whats next when it comes to Chao: A Chao Island? A Chao Planet? Y'know, since I just brought up planets, how would the Chao and the Wisps get along if a Chao ever came face to face with a Wisp?"
"Uh, whats a Wisp again?" Bloonic asked.
"They're aliens that have this energy source called Hyper Go-Ons. Several years back, Eggman built this space amusement park and enslaved the Wisps as part of a plot to take over the world with mind control. Tails and I thwarted that scheme and the aliens went home, we haven't heard from 'em a lot since then."
The hedgehog-vampire family interracted with the Chao happily, playing with them and feeding them. Everything was happy and dandy, but just then... an explosion shook the mountainside and the Chao shrieked in alarm, hiding in the bushes just as somebody cackled maniacally.
Sonic, Vampirella and Bloonic took up combat positions, preparing themselves, and stood ready as the big guy finally showed himself. Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, still fat and packing a big mustache, wearing his trademark red and black outfit, glasses and goggles, came in, piloting his Egg Mobile.
"HA HA HA HA HA!" Eggman mused menacingly, smoke billowing behind him and robots arriving, "Look who we have here, my old pal Sonic, a human looking female vampire and a little hedgehog boy with emo hair. What is the world coming to, ha ha ha, it looks like you got yourself a family, rodent."
"If it isn't the giant talking egg known as Doctor Eggman." Bloonic remarked, stepping forward, "Didn't expect you to swing by, but I've been training for something like this for a long time now." Sonic chimed in, "Hey, Egghead. Whatcha want, my family and I were just trying to have a peaceful day together."
"Sorry to ruin your day, family hogs." The doctor sneered, "But I happened to detect the energy signature of chaos powers that belong to the little creatures known as Chao, I got big plans for the Chao and this time, oh ho ho, you won't be able to stop me this time like all my plans."
Sonic and his family stepped in front of the cowering Chao close by, trying to prevent the Eggman and his goons from getting near the little creatures. The tone of the situation was tense and suspenseful, whatever happened between the heroes and the villains would be important.
"You're not going near these innocent creatures, you unjust villain." Vampirella said fiercely and firmly, she'd never faced the likes of Doctor Eggman before but she'd fought many villains at this point and had seen her blue love face the doctor countless times, "They're not meant to be used by someone like you."
"Oh ho ho ho!" Eggman remarked, the cold and villainous smile on his face becoming a face full of rage, "Is that so, Vampirella? I have a natural gift for Chao, I had a Chao Garden on the Egg Carrier UNTIL SONIC DESTROYED IT! Nobody takes my Chao AND NOBODY WRECKS MY PLANS! Robots, ATTACK!"
The Egg Pawns and Egg Fighters came forth, battle ready and prepared to take the Chao by force. Sonic and Vampirella fought back, trashing them and fiercely defending their new friends. Bloonic joined in, utilizing his skills that he'd learned during his training and taking down the robots coming their way.
Despite their efforts, Eggman managed to get his hands on a couple Chao and flew off with them, laughing maniacally to the dismay of the three. "Damn!" Sonic stomped his foot, "I can't believe he actually managed to get away with some Chao, that's just great. Looks like we're in trouble."
"Don't worry, leave it to me," Bloonic stepped forward, observing where the retreating Eggman was going, "I'll chase the doc down and save those Chao." Vampirella looked at her son with surprise, "Are you... are you insane, we just fought Eggman! We need to..."
"No time to plan. Chao have to be saved and I'm gonna get that creep, in fact, I'll make sure I get him good."
"Bloonic, be careful." Sonic warned, "Eggman may look like a joke, but he is dangerous. You can't take him on alone, you might get... SON, WAIT!"
The purple hedgehog zipped off at high speed down the hill in pursuit of Eggman, all to the shock and worry of his parents as they begged him to not be so brash. Even though he heard his mum and his old man express concern, Bloonic was trained for this, Eggman butt had to be kicked.
Doctor Eggman's here, next time: THE HYBRID HERO VS THE MAD DOCTOR!
