A mighty muscular blue dragon with four blue wings, a long blue tail and glowing red eyes appeared. He stands on his back legs and wears golden armour on his head, legs and upper body. He also holds a large golden spear in his right claw.
Brody looked in awe at the Dragon and Drake smirked. "Your Dragon against mine ! Let´s find out which is the stronger one !"

Episode 13. Intense Battles - Surprising Outcome
Brody continued to look in awe at the large dragon who landed behind Drake. As it landed, the ship begun to sway and Brody tried hard to hold his balance.
Red-Eyes Chaos Dragon ATK/3300 DEF/2500 Dark/Dragon/Fusion/Level 10
"Things don´t look good now." Lynn said and Morgan only nodded.
Drake now grinned. "Time for me to win this Duel. When Fusion Summoned, all monsters on your field and in your hand which have less attack points then Red-Eyes Chaos Dragon are destroyed."
Brody gritted his teeth and Red-Eyes Chaos Dragon slammed his spear into the ground. This created two bolts of lightning, with one hitting Odd-Eyes while the other one hit one of the cards in Brody´s hand. Odd-Eyes was destroyed and Brody sent one of the cards from his hand to the graveyard.
Drake then pointed at Brody. "Now Red-Eyes Chaos Dragon, attack Brody directly ! Crimson Flame Blade !" The dragon roared before it flew into the air. Crimson Flames surrounded his body and he then changed down towards Brody.
"Go my Trap ! Burning Dragon Soul ! Now for each face-up dragon monster in my extra deck, the damage I take is reduced by 600 ! Thanks to my buddy Odd-Eyes, the potency of your attack loses some of its fire !" Brody shouted. Odd-Eyes´ roar could be heard and a red force field appeared before Brody. Drake´s dragon collided with the force field. After a few seconds, it broke through it and hit Brody, sending the young teen flying backwards and crashing onto the ground. Brody LP 2800 (-2700) 100
"That was a close one. I hope he is okay." Lynn said as she looked at Morgan. To her surprise smiled Morgan back at her. "He´s fine. This will only encourage him even more."
"If you say so." Lynn replied and both girls looked back to the Duel.
Brody had gotten back onto his feet by now. ("Man, that was close. But I´m still in this Duel.") He looked back at Drake with a grin. ("He is strong. However, thanks to his attack, I´m all fired up now !")
"To end my turn I activate Red-Eyes Chaos Dragon´s special ability. I pay 300 lifepoints to destroy a card on your field or in your hand."

Drake pointed at Brody´s hand. "And I choose to destroy the card in your hand." Brody sent the card to his graveyard. "That was it. You´re on."

"Then it´s my turn !" Brody looked at the card and it was the spell Miracle Pendulum Draw. He smirked. "Great. A little miracle is exactly what I need now so I activate the Spell, Miracle Pendulum Draw ! A random Pendulum monster is now sent from my deck to my extra deck and then I can draw cards equal to its level !" He grabbed the card who poped out of his deck and revealed it. "It´s level four Action-Buddy Silver Claw. I´m allowed to draw four cards."
Brody looked at his deck. ("To turn things around I need cards who can withstand against Spells and Traps...") He closed his eyes and layed his fingers on his deck. "Okay. Here I go !" Brody drew four cards from his deck and looked at them. He smiled. "With my set Pendulum Scale I Pendulum Summon ! Return my Odd-Eyes !" A red beam came down from the sky and Odd-Eyes returned to the field. He was surrounded by a blue light meaning he was in defence position.

"Playing on defence won´t help you. I´m going to win this Duel now !" Drake declared and drew a card. "Go the Equip Spell, Robe of the Dragon King ! Red-Eyes gains 1000 attack points and can now inflict piercing damage !" Drake´s dragon gained a long sleeved white coat with golden ends.

"Now Red-Eyes, attack Odd-Eyes !" The mighty dragon roared and then released a mixed stream of purple, red and yellow flames from his mouth.
Brody reacted fast and run over to a red platform that was just beside the ship. He grabbed the there laying Action Card and activated it. "Action Card, Damage Banish ! Battle damage is reduced to zero !" Odd-Eyes got hit by the stream of flames and was destroyed. Brody´s lifepoints remained unharmed.
"You´re quit good. No wonder you managed to come this far." Drake said. "I pay 300 lifepoints, Red-Eyes destroyes a card on your field. He destroyes your Stargazer Magician in your Pendulum Zone." Drake LP 1600 (-300) 1300
Drake´s dragon pointed his golden spear at the Magician who then glowed and shattered.
"Maybe you should have waited a bit longer for using your dragon´s effect." Brody said, holding up a card. "When a Pendulum monster I control gets destroyed, I can tribute a monster from my hand..." A whirlwind of fire appeared on Brody´s field. "To special summon Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon !" The fire whirlwind extended into the air and Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon appeared in the sky. He roared before flying down and landing on the ship.

("I have to admit, it´s been a while since I had this kind of fun during a Duel. He will be a good rival for me.") Drake smirked as he looked at the dragon. "I end my turn."

"I draw !" Brody took a quick look at the card and added it to his hand. He grabbed another card. "I set Scale 5 Action-Buddy Dragon Sorcerer into my Pendulum Zone !" Brody slammed the card onto the right end of his Duel Disk and the rainbow word "PENDULUM" appeared. In the right pillar arose a blonde haired female sorcerer, wearing a red cloak.

"Now I can summon monsters which have level six or seven. Pendulum Summon ! Return from the extra deck Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon !" The pendulum portal opened and a red beam shot onto the field. Odd-Eyes appeared and roared.

"My dragon is still stronger then both of yours." Drake replied.
"With little help from others, things can quickly change, right Dragon Sorcerer ?" Brody replied as he looked up at his monster. The sorcerer nodded before she held out her hand and a silver staff appeared in her hand. She then whirled the staff around herself in a ritual-like manner before she pointed the staff at Lancer Dragon. "Dragon Sorcerer gives all light-type monsters on my field 500 attack points !" Brody´s dragon glowed and roared loudly.
Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon ATK/3500
Drake gritted his teeth before he jumped onto his dragon´s back. Red-Eyes then flew up into the air. Brody jumped onto Lancer Dragon and they followed them. Brody smiled confident. "You don´t need to make yourself the work in finding an Action Card. With Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon, Spell cards don´t work during the Battle Phase. And since you neither have any trap cards on your field, you´re completly open for the defeat ! Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon, attack Red-Eyes Chaos Dragon !" Lancer Dragon fired a blue fire stream which hit and destroyed the larger dragon.
Drake LP 1300 (-200) 1100
Drake made a somersault and landed safely back on the ship. He looked on as Lancer Dragon landed back on the ship as well. Brody thanked Lancer Dragon before he jumped onto his ace dragon. "Alright buddy, get us the win ! Spiral Flame Strike !" Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon roared and unleashed his dark energy beam.
Drake closed his eyes and gave a small smile. "You´re really good, Brody. But I won´t accept a defeat against you yet." Drake then held up the card in his hand. "I send level five Darkflare Dragon from my hand to the graveyard to activate its special ability. Now I won´t take damage, instead we both take 1500 damage."
"What ?!" Brody shouted.
"He is ending it in a draw." Morgan said surprised.
The shadow of a black dragon appeared on Drake´s field and fired a red energy beam. Both beams then collided and created a huge explosion which made both Brody and Drake shield themselves.

"It´s over ! This intense Duel where mighty dragons unleashed their powers, ended with an unexpected draw. A very rare outcome for a Duel in the final round, wouldn´t you agree." Nico Smiley said and the audience applauded.
Brody sighed, feeling a little bit down. He really wanted to win this Duel. He made his way back to his friends as Drake stopped him. "Hey Kamiya ! Take this !" Brody turned around and catched two cards Drake had threw over to him. He looked at the cards and his eyes opened up in surprise. The cards are Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon and Black Metal Dragon.
Brody looked back at Drake. "Why do you give them to me ?"
Drake gave him a small smile. "See it as a thanks for the good Duel. It has been a while since I needed to be more serious. It was a rather good feeling." He then turned in attempt to leave. "You´re strong, Brody, but I can tell that you have the potential to be even stronger. Once you mastered that, we will duel again. And then I might accept a defeat." With that left Drake the field.
Brody waited for a moment and then smiled before he joined Morgan and Lynn on the sidelines. "Good Duel." Lynn said with a smile.
Brody returned the smile. "Well, I do wish I had won, but I didn´t lose either so I´m fine with it."
"But somehow you still won, right ?" Morgan said, also smiling. "I guess so." Brody said while he still smiled as he looked back at the two cards in his hand.
Drake meanwhile also joined his teammates. Avery croosed her arms and smirked a bit. "And ? What do you say ?"
Drake looked at her. "You were right. They sure are something... different. I wonder what will come next."
"However, that doesn´t mean we should let them win so easily." Lucy said and her brother and Avery nodded.
"You´re right. We will show them who we are." Avery said and then looked ahead to the private space of the stadium were Max Harper and students from thier school sat. ("I will win, no matter what ! I just have to win... or I won´t be able to make a change at all !") She thought to herself.
Ten minutes later...
Nico Smiley was back on the field and spoke to the audience. "Now after a short break we are back in action with the third match of today´s finals ! So let us see who will duel next !" Nico pointed the the TV screen. The screen lit up and a few seconds later two pictures appeared. "The second Duel will be Avery Harper against Lynn Weston !"
"Alright then." Lynn said, getting ready.
"Be carefull. I dueled Avery before. She is strong." Morgan said.
"Don´t worry. I´ll be fine." Lynn said as she winked at her and held out her fist. Morgan smiled and held out her fist as well. The girls fist-bumped and Lynn then walked onto the field.
Avery also walked onto the field and stood now face to face with Lynn. "So you´re the one who kicked my classmate Kit Blade out of the tournament."
"Yes, that´s me. And I´ll kick you out of it next." Lynn said with a smirk and activated her Duel Disk.
"I´ll admit, your Duel against Kit was good. But against me it won´t be enough." Avery replied, activating her Duel Disk too.
"We shall see." Lynn said.
"The Duel hasn´t even started yet, but there is already a lot of tension in the air." Nico said and then held up his hand. "However, first is the Action Field selection." Everyone looked up at the sphere of glowing cards with the large Action Card inside of it. "And the field will be..." The sphere then shattered and the Action Field Spell revealed itself. It had the image of a canyon.
"Action Field, on ! Activating the Field Spell, Sky Canyon !" The ARC system under the field activated and both girls found themselfs inside a canyon. Numerous rocks were flying in the air, most of them just big enough so you can stand on them.
Lynn had a determined expression on her face. "Duelists locked in battle..."
Avery continued the chant. "Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters. They storm through this field."
Both girls then spoke together. "Behold ! This is the latest and greates evolution in dueling ! Action... Duel !" Nico snapped his fingers and the Action Cards scattered across the field.
TURN 1 Avery LP 4000 Hand 5 / Lynn LP 4000 Hand 5
"I´ll start. First I set two cards face down." Two face-down cards appeared in front of Avery before disappearing again. "Next I summon Silent Paladin in defence mode." A women with long blonde hair tied into a ponytail appeared. She wears light and drak blue armour, white boots and a white cape. In her right hand she holds a blue sword and in her left hand she holds a blue and silver shield. Silent Paladin ATK/500 DEF/1500 Light/Fairy/Effect/Lv. 4
"With that I end my turn."
TURN 2 Lynn LP 4000 Hand 5 / Avery LP 4000 Hand 2
"My turn !" Lynn drew a card from her deck and looked at it. "Come to the field my Windwitch-Ice Bells !" Two white witch with purple hair, each sitting on a blue broom appeared. Each one wore a white witch-dress, a purple witch hat and holds a white wand.

Lynn grinned. "When a Windwitch-Ice Bell is normal or special summoned, you take 500 points of damage. But since I summoned two, you will take 1000 points of damage." Lynn snapped her fingers and both witch chuckled while pointing their wands at Avery. Each wand fired a cold stream of wind and ice which hit Avery.

"I end my turn." Lynn said with a small grin.
"Avery tried to prevent damage by first playing on defence." Brody said while smiling.
"But playing on defence doesn´t work by Lynn." Morgan said, also smiling.
TURN 3 Avery LP 3000 Hand 2 / Lynn LP 4000 Hand 4
"Draw !" Avery took a card from her deck. "I summon Gaia, The Mid-Knight Sun in attack mode !" A silver and blue knight came to the field, sitting on a dark blue horse with a yellow mane. The left arm of the knight wasn´t an arm but a silver lance.

"Now Gaia, attack one of her Ice Bells !" The monster used his foot to signal his horse to run forward. Lynn looked behind her and saw an Action Card in a small crack higher up on the wall. She quickly took some steps back and then jumped up and grabbed onto a tree branch that stuck out of the wall. She used her right arm to swing herself onto the branch and then she took the Action Card. "I activate the Action Card, Candy Shower ! This switches your Gaia into defence mode !" A candy shower spread over the field and Avery´s monster stopped its attack. Avery remained calm. "Then I just destroy Gaia to use his effect and deal you 600 damage." The monster shattered and Lynn felt the damage via a small electrical shock.

"You´re not the only one who can use effect damage." Avery said with a smirk and Lynn gritted her teeth. "I place one card face down and end my turn."
TURN 4 Lynn LP 3400 Hand 4 / Avery LP 3000 Hand 1
Lynn narrowed her eyes a bit. ("She lowered her defence but now she has three face down cards. I need to be carefull.") She stood up straight on the tree branch. "My turn, I draw !" Lynn looked at the card she drew and smiled. "I activate the Spell, Tuner´s Birth. This allows me to change a monster I control into a Tuner monster." One of the Ice Bells was surrounded by a green light and Lynn then held up her hand. "Now I tune my two level three Ice Bells !"
The Ice Bell which was surrounded by the green light flew into the air and became three green rings. The other Ice Bell followed and flew through the green rings before turning into three white orbs. ( 3+3 = 6 )
"Synchro Summon ! Appear ! Level six ! Windwitch-Fire Bell !" A witch with long yellow hair and blue eyes appeared on Lynn´s field. She is sitting on a dark red broom and wears a red witch hat and dress.
Windwitch-Fire Bell ATK/2100 DEF/1300 Fire/Spellcaster/Synchro/Lv. 6
Lynn jumped down from the tree branch and landed on a sitting position on the broom behind her witch. "I use Windwitch-Fire Bell´s effect ! When she is Synchro Summoned, she inflicts damage to you equal to the combined attack points of the monsters that were used to summon her ! Both Ice Bell had 1000 attack so that means 2000 points of damage for you !"
"I don´t think so." Avery said and one of her face down cards rose up. "I activate my Trap, Chain of Haze ! I target a monster on your field and that monster can no longer use its effects ! I target your Windwitch-Fire Bell !" Chains shoot out of the card and chained the witch. The chains glowed for a moment and disappeared again.
("If I can´t take her out with effects, then I just have to battle.") Lynn thought before she tapped her witch on the shoulder. Windwitch-Fire Bell flew down to the ground and Lynn jumped off of the broom and now stood on the ground. "Windwitch-Fire Bell, attack Avery´s Silent Paladin !"
Avery smirked. "I activate a second Trap. Sealing Swords of Crimson Flames !" Large swords made out of crimson fire rained down onto Lynn´s field and formed a circle around Windwitch Fire-Bell, trapping her. "Now for three of your turns, monsters on your field cannot attack."
Lynn gritted her teeth. "I end my turn."
TURN 5 Avery LP 3000 Hand 1 / Lynn LP 3400 Hand 4
"My turn ! I draw !" Avery took a quick look at the drawn card and revealed it to Lynn. "If my opponent controls a level five or higher monster, I can special summon this monster without tributing. Come forth, Paladin Girl of Dark Magic !" A female monster appeared, wearing blue armour and holding a blue sword and shield. She has long spiky yellow hair, blue eyes, and parts of a pink skirt sticks out of the bottom part of her armour.

"Paladin Girl of Dark Magic gains 100 attack points for every other warrior monster on my field and graveyard." Avery said and her monster glowed as it increased in power. Paladin Girl of Dark Magic ATK/2300 (+100) 2400
"Now to the second effect of my Trap Sealing Sowrds of Crimson Flames. While your monsters are trapped, I can bypass them and attack you directly !"
"What ?!" Lynn said shocked. Avery grinned. "Paladin Girl, attack Lynn directly !" The female warrior shot forward and Lynn started to look around for an Action Card. She didn´t find one so she jumped up onto one of the rocks that were flying around in the air. There she saw an Action Card on another flying rock. She jumped onto the other rock and picked up the card. Lynn then gritted her teeth since the card couldn´t help her. Avery´s warrior then slashed along Lynn´s upper body with its sowrd. Lynn cringed a bit in pain.

"I end my turn. You´re up, Lynn." Avery said.
"A rather balanced Duel we have here, dear audience. Lynn showed right at the start that she can make perfect use of her monsters effects and so was even able to deal 1000 points of damage to Avery. However, Avery soon after pulled out a combo which not only prevents Lynn from attacking, but it also dealt more then the doubled damage Lynn had dealt before." Nico Smiley comanted the Duel. "Will Lynn be able to get out of the situation, or will Avery maybe finish the Duel in her next turn ? Let´s continue and find out."

Lynn was still standing on the flying rock as she drew. She looked at the cards troubled before placing one into her Duel Disk. "I set one card face-down and end my turn."
TURN 7 Avery LP 3000 Hand 1 / Lynn LP 1000 Hand 4
"Then it´s my turn again. I draw !" Avery smirked for a moment as she looked at her drawn card. She then jumped up some flying rocks until she stood on one that was on the same high as Lynn. "Paladin Girl of Dark Magic, attack Lynn once more !" The female warrior jumped towards Lynn.
"You won´t beat me so easy ! Trap activate, Mirror Shade ! By paying half of my life points, I take no more damage this turn !" The sword of the warrior hit a force field and Lynn shielded herself with her arms from the shockwave. Lynn LP 1000 (-500) 500
"Interesting move but quite dangerous too. I end my turn." Avery said.
"Lynn still can´t attack. She needs a way to free herself or she will lose." Brody said.
"She can do it." Morgan replied calm, but she also started to feel worried.
TURN 8 Lynn LP 500 Hand 4 / Avery LP 3000 Hand 2
"My turn !" Lynn drew a card and looked at the now five cards in her hand. But before she could make her move...
"Before you make your move, I have a little gift for you." Avery said and her trap flipped up. "Now go the Trap, Present Card. You´re allowed to draw another card. But when that card is a monster then you have to send all cards in your hand to the graveyard."
Lynn looked at Avery with narrowed eyes and then looked at her deck. She placed her hand on her deck and took a card. Taking a quick look, Lynn closed her eyes and showed the card to Avery. It was a monster card. Avery smiled. "Looks like you wasn´t so lucky. To bad, now your entire hand goes to the graveyard."
Lynn balled her right hand in anger. She looked at her cards before sending them to the graveyard. "I end my turn."
Morgan gritted her teeth. "Lynn ! Try to find an Action Card before she makes her move !" Lynn turned to Morgan as she heard her yell and then looked around. She started jumping up some of the flying rocks, trying to find an Action Card.
TURN 9 Avery LP 3000 Hand 2 / Lynn LP 500 Hand 0
Avery had a confident smile as she watched Lynn. ("Everything goes as it should be.") She thought and then took a card from her deck. "I place one card face-down and now my Paladin Girl of Dark Magic attacks you once more !" The warrior charged towards Lynn who stopped and was now on a flying rock that was really high up in the air.
"I banish Windwitch-Polar Fox from my graveyard and change all your monsters into defence !" Lynn shouted and Avery´s monster stopped her attack. Paladin Girl returned to her master and kneeled down. Lynn looked at Avery. "In the end your Trap was still a gift for me." Avery still looked confident as she ended her turn.
"Lynn isn´t going to be taken down that easily." Brody said.
"Yeah. But Avery still looks way to confident for my liking. Something is off here." Morgan replied, the worried feeling inside her getting stronger.
TURN 10 Lynn LP 500 Hand 0 / Avery LP 3000 Hand 2
Lynn placed her hand on her deck. "Please give me something that helps me turn things around." She whispered and then took a deep breath. "My turn ! I draw !" Looking at the card, Lynn smiled. "I summon the Tuner monster Windwitch-Snow Bell !" A small silver like bell with yellow stripes and white wings appeared.

"Now I tune my level one Snow Bell with my level six Windwitch-Fire Bell !" Snow Bell turned into a green ring and Fire Bell flew through it and then turned into six white orbs. ( 1+6 = 7 )
"Fast as the midwinter wind. Make snow and ice become power to your beautiful fighting skills ! Synchro Summon ! Come forth ! Level seven ! Yin-Yang Windwitch Girl !" Lynn chanted and a bright white light flashed. A girl with red eyes and long brown hair which is bond into long pigtails with two white ribbons appeared. She wears a long sleeved red fighting style kimono top, a short dark red skirt and long white boots.

"Don´t you think it was a bit to early to bring out your ace monster ? You still can´t attack this turn." Avery said.
"That may be true, but my friend has abilities that can easily bypass something like that." Lynn replied with a grin. "I use Yin-Yang Windwitch Girl´s effect. I target a Windwitch monster in my graveyard and then you take damage equal to that monster´s level times 200 ! I target Windwitch-Fire Bell which is level six. Now you take 1200 points of damage !" Windwitch Girl held out her right hand and a stream of ice and wind hit Avery.

"My turn... I draw !" Avery smirked at her drawn card. "I activate the the Spell, Level Returner. I target one monster I control and reduce its level by one. I choose my Paldin Girl of Dark Magic." Paladin Girl Level 5 (-1) 4
"She reduced her monsters level ? Why that ? Brody asked.
"I think I know why." Morgan mumbled while narrowing her eyes a bit. "Avery became stronger as well."
"Time to show you my true strength !" Avery said with a huge grin while Lynn looked on. Avery held up her hand. "Now I overlay my two level four monsters in order to build the overlay network !" Paladin Girl of Dark Magic turned into purple energy while Silent Paladin turned into yellow energy and both energies then circled around each other before they flew into a black and yellow vortex that had formed on the ground.
"Xyz Summon ! Come forth, Rank 4 ! Veteran of Light - Gust King Alexander !" A humanoid warrior monster in grey armour with a green cape, red eyes and holding a sword in his right hand appeared. It was completely surrounded by winds and two green glowing orbs are circling around it.

"Ladies and gentelman, here we have Avery Harper bringing out a new Summon, an Xyz Summon ! What an amazing turn of things !" Nico Smiley shouted excited and cheering echoed through the stadium.
("Avery´s ace turned into an Xyz monster... those are pretty dangerous.") Morgan thought.
("So this is an Xyz Summon... not bad.") Lynn thought.
"I end my turn. Now come at me, Lynn !" Avery said in a confident tone. Everyone in the stadium was surprised at this move.
"How does Avery want to win the attention of the crowd if she acts like this ?" Brody asked.
"She isn´t taking Lynn seriously." Morgan said with a hint of anger in her voice.
"Then she will regret it." Brody said. "Lynn may not come from our world but she is a Duelist just like us. She even rides a motorcycle while she duels. She is anything but someone you can beat so easy."
Morgan didn´t replie and just took her attention back to the Duel.
Lynn gritted her teeth in anger. ("She brings out her ace monster but won´t attack. Does she intend to mock me or what ?")
"What´s the matter ? Are you hesitating because you never saw an Xyz monster before ? Or are you too afraid that you could make a wrong move ?" Avery asked.
TURN 12 Lynn LP 500 Hand 0 / Avery LP 1800 Hand 2
"I´m not afraid ! My turn !" Lynn drew a card and looked at her before looking back at Avery. ("I´m sure her monster has a special ability that can either block an attack or an effect, or maybe even both. Now what do I do ?!")
"Using your monster´s effect to take me out won´t be enough. However, I don´t know if attacking me will be the right decision either. Well, at least not if you care about your monster." Avery said.
"What is that supposed to mean ?!" Lynn yelled.
"Lynn, ignore that !" Morgan yelled which made Lynn look at her for a moment.
"You guys from You Show treat your monsters as friends and you respect them. Actually, I don´t mind that you all think like that. In fact, I respect my warrior in a similar way. He has helped me a lot when I was young. However, how much are you willing to risk for your friends... or your monsters ?" Avery said, a calm expression on her face.
"Lynn, ignore that ! She is just trying to get into your head !" Morgan shouted.
"You should think about that too." Avery said, looking at Morgan.
Morgan got a little bit shocked by that and turned to look to the side.
Lynn looked at her monster. ("Windwitch Girl has always been my favorite card, ever since I can remember. But now that I have met Morgan, I can´t ignore the fact that I have grown closer to my monster.") Lynn shook her head and got a determined expression on her face. ("Alright, I risk it. As long as Windwitch Girl is with me, I know I can win this !")
"I activate the Spell, Assistance of a Windwitch ! I target a monster on my field and it gains attack equal to the attack points of a Windwitch monster in my graveyard ! Windwitch Girl gains Windwitch-Fire Bell´s 2100 attack points !" Windwitch Girl was surrounded by a red light.

Lynn grinned as the crimson flaming swords around her monster disappeared. "Your Trap finally wared off. Now it´s time to end this. Yin-Yang Windwitch Girl, attack Avery´s Gust King Alexander !" Windwitch Girl jumped forward and charged towards the female knight.
("Knew she would fall for it.") Avery thought and smirked. "Let me tell you something. Xyz monster´s true power, is to use the souls of their overlay units to annihilate their foes."
"What ?" Lynn asked.
"My Warrior´s effect activates ! By using one overlay unit, I can banish a monster that has declared an attack !" Avery shouted.
"What ?!" Lynn, Morgan and Brody all shouted together. Avery´s monster held up its sword and one of the green orbs that was flying around it disappeared into the sword. The male warrior slammed his sword into the ground and created a shockwave. That shockwave hit Windwitch Girl, sending her flying backwards and then shattering.
("Dammit. I let myself get fooled !") Lynn thought with gritted teeth. She then closed her eyes. "I end my turn."
"Avery has gotten stronger." Brody said.
"Yeah." Morgan replied before looking back at Lynn. "Don´t give up, Lynn ! You still have lifepoints left ! This isn´t over yet !"
Lynn looked at Morgan and nodded. "Morgann is right. Now bring it on !" She yelled towards Avery.
TURN 13 Avery LP 1800 Hand 2 / Lynn LP 500 Hand 0
"I draw !" Avery took a card from her deck and placed it among the ones in her hand. "I had fun playing with you, but this is a tournament I want to win ! I will finish this now ! Go, my warrior ! Attack Lynn directly and end this Duel !" The male warrior charged towards Lynn with his sword, however, Lynn then held up an orange card with an "A" on the beackside. "I activate the Action Spell, Evasion ! Your attack is negated !"
"So Lynn did found an Action Card after all." Ethan said.
"Yeah. She just used the effect of her monster in the graveyard to let Avery think that she didn´t found one and would be defencless." Stacey said.
The sword of Avery´s monster hit a force field that formed in front of Lynn. The force of the attack, on the other hand, was very strong and Lynn was sent down from the rock she was standing on. Thankfully, she was able to grab onto the edge of another flying rock and so stopped her fall. Brody and Morgan sighed in relief at that.
Lynn also sighed in relief. "That... was close..."
"Don´t think it´s over yet." Avery said.
"What now ?!" Lynn asked while she tried her best to keep her hold on the rock.
Avery smirked once more. "I use the remaining overlay unit to activate Alexander´s other effect !" The green orb that was flying around the monster disappeared. "Now I can return a monster that was banished and take control over it."
"Say what ?!" Lynn said shocked as she saw how Windwitch Girl reappeared on Avery´s field.
"Lynn has no chance anymore." Brody said with sadness.
"Not only that. If another attack hits, Lynn will probably lose her grib on the rock and fall down." Morgan said, worried for her friend who was dangerously high up in the air. She then gritted her teeth in anger and looked at Avery. "Don´t you dare do that ! It´s way to dangerous !"
Avery wanted to ignore that but the anger and worry in Morgan´s voice made her look over at her. Avery closed her eyes. "Windwitch Girl, attack."
Windwitch Girl had a look of regret as she charged towards her master. Her right leg begun to glow and she kicked Lynn in the left side. Lynn felt the pain and she lost her grip on the rock. A part of the crowd in the stadium was shocked. However, before Lynn could hit the ground, a yellow shadow shoot across the field and catched her. It was Morgan´s Lightning Mage. She had caught Lynn in her arms.
Lynn LP 450-0 / Avery WIN
Morgan had walked onto the field, her Duel Disk activated. The Duel field then disappeared and Lightning Mage landed in front of Morgan. She softly laid the unconscious Lynn down onto the ground. Morgan looked at her with a sad smile before looking up at her monster. "Thanks Lightning Mage." Her warrior nodded and disappeared again.
Morgan then looked at Avery with anger. "What were you thinking ?!"
Avery raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me ?"
"You went to far ! Lynn could have been seriously injured if she had hit the ground !" Morgan yelled.
"That´s the risk you have to take when you take on someone in an Action Field." Avery replied.
"You´re despicable..." Morgan growled in anger while her pupils flickered with a pink glow.
"Whatever." Avery replied and then started to walk away. "You´d better hope that what you just did won´t have consequences."
Morgan´s right fist shook with anger. She wanted to say more but Brody stopped her by grabbing onto her shoulder, hard. "Come one, Morgan. Let´s get Lynn to the infirmary."
Morgan took a deep breath and calmed down. "Yeah, you´re right." She picked up Lynn and carried her back into the stadium and towards the infirmary.
"Avery Harper is the winner of the third Duel. Who will end up as her opponent in the final match for the champion title ? The next Duel will decide it." Nico Smiley explained. "After a little break of twenty-five minutes we will be back for the fourth Duel."
Some people left their seats to get something to eat and drink while others went to get some fresh air. Emma also stood up. Mamoru, who decided to sit with them sometime during the matches, didn´t need to look at her and so closed his eyes. "Don´t be to hard on her." He said and Emma only nodded before she left the stands.
Infirmary of the stadium, a bit later
The first thing Lynn saw when she opened her eyes were the worried faces of her friends.
"Welcome back." Stacey said while giving Lynn a warm smile.
"Where am I ?" Lynn asked while getting into a sitting position on the bed. "In the stadium´s infirmary." Stacey answered.
"I guess I lost then." Lynn said.
"Unfortunately, yes. But don´t feel down. It was still a good Duel." Brody replied with a sad smile.
"I passed out because of the pain from Windwitch Girl´s direct attack. What happened after ?" Lynn asked.
"You went straight flying down from the rock. You could have seriously been hurt but Morgan saved you. She summoned her Lightning Mage who catched you just in time." Ethan said.
"I see." Lynn smiled and then got a curious expression. "Where is Morgan anyway ? She isn´t dueling already, is she ?"
The others looked at each other and back to Lynn. "Well, not really..." Brody said while scratching his head and looking towards the closed door.
Morgan sat on a bench outside the infirmary. Emma stood in front of her with her arms crossed. "What were you thinking, Morgan ?"
"I´m sorry. But I had to do something. Lynn could have been seriously injured or worse if she had hit the ground like that."
"You broke the rules, Morgan. You know that the Dueling company takes their rules seriously. You risk a disqualification."
"I know. Nonthenless, I don´t care. For me, my friends stay over a win. You and the others should know that by now."
Emma sighed and then smiled. "Of course I know. It´s one of the things that makes you, Morgan." She then sat down next to her. "You know, I didn´t came down here to be mad with you, Morgan. I came here to tell you that I´m very proud of you." Emma pulled her into a hug and Morgan giggled a bit.
Emma with a smile then stood up again. "I´m going back to the stands. I have a feeling that this tournament isn´t over yet." She gave her a grin and then left. Morgan stood up and had a warm expression on her face. ("Thank you, Emma.") She thought and smiled before she walked towards Lynn´s room.
Ethan and Stacey left for the stands while Brody made his way back to the field. They wanted to give Morgan and Lynn some privacy.
"Hey." Lynn said. "Hey." Morgan said back.
"Um... I... I wanted to thank you, Morgan. I really owe you." Lynn said a bit shyly.
Morgan waved her hand and smiled. "It´s fine. That´s what friends are for."
"What will happen now ?" Lynn asked.
"Well, I don´t know. I did it to help you but I broke a rule by entering the field. In the worst case I´m disqualified."
"I´m sorry that I lost. I shouldn´t have let myself get tricked by her words." Lynn said, looking down.
Morgan shook her head. "No. I´m actually the one who has to be sorry. I mean, I was the one who talked you into joining our school in the first place. I was so fixed on winning the champion title that I didn´t thought about what you and the others are feeling. I´m really sorry."
"Okay, please stop with that. You don´t need to apologize. I joined this tournament on my own free will." Lynn said and then smiled. "So how about we stop blaming ourselfs and just be happy again ?"
Morgan chuckled. "Alright." Both girls then laughed a bit. Suddenly, Morgan heard something that sounded like a roar. "Huh ?"
Lynn raised an eyebrow. "What´s wrong ?"
"I thought I just heard something." Morgan said as she looked around the room. She looked back at Lynn with a confused look. "Weird."
"Hey Morgan, don´t you think it´s time to go back to the field ? The break is almost over." Lynn then said.
"Yeah, time to get disqualified I guess." Morgan said with a grin. "Are you going to be okay on your own ?"
Lynn smiled at Morgan´s kindhertness. "I´ll be fine. I will join you and the others again soon."
"Alright. See you at the field then." Morgan replied while walking towards the door.
"And Morgan..." Morgan turned to Lynn who smirked. "Don´t you dare to lose."
Morgan smirked back and winked at her. "I won´t."
Once Morgan left the room, Lynn sighed but had a small smile on her face. ("Morgan really has an amazing heart. I´m happy that I was able to meet someone like her.") Lynn then took her deck from her Duel Disk and looked at the top card which was of course her Windwitch Girl. She closed her eyes and held the cards close to her. A tear run down her face but Lynn smiled.
Back on the stadium´s field
Morgan reached the sidelines of the field were Brody was already waiting for her. "Just in time." Brody said.
"I´m still in the tournament ?" Morgan asked.
"As it looks, yes you are." Brody said before pointing to the large TV screen. It showed a picture of Morgan and Lucy. Morgan nodded and then walked onto the field as did a sixteen year old girl with long red hair that is bond into a ponytail and blue eyes. She wears a long sleeved white shirt under a short red jacket, black jeans, red sneakers and silver earings.
Nico Smiley joined the girls, as did a middle aged man in a suit. "Morgan Reigns and Lucy Kirigaya, this man here is the president of the head-company "Global Dueling", and he has a few things to say." Nico explained and the man walked forward.
"I came here to solfe the little rule break that has occured during the last Duel." He turned to Morgan. "Other Duelists aren´t allowed to enter the field while a Duel occures. You clearly broke that rule and normally the consequence is that you are disqualified. However, considering the circuments why you broke that rule, I and my co-workers decided that we will leave it by a warning this time."
Morgan bowed her head politely. "Thank you very much, Sir."
The man smiled a bit. "Nonethenless, a little punishment must be. Therfore your opponent is allowed to choose the Action Field." Both Morgan and Lucy nodded and the man then left the field. A few minutes later and the girls were ready to duel.
Nico turned to the crowd. "Time to start the fourth match."
"So you are Morgan Reigns. I have heard a lot about you." Lucy said.
"Thanks... I guess..." Morgan said in response.
"But don´t think just because you performed the first Pendulum Summon means that your are immune to my ice touch !"
"Well, let´s see shall we ?" Morgan said as she activated her orange Duel Disk with the black blade and pink border. Lucy has a green body Duel Disk and it activated with a blue blade.
"Yes, we shall see. And now I activate the Action Field, Winter Warzone !" The ARC system activated and the ground turned into a white winter field with falling snow all around. Second by second the field grew with snow.
"Let´s duel !" Both girls then shouted and the Action Cards dispersed across the field.
TURN 1 Morgan LP 4000 Hand 5 / Lucy LP 4000 Hand 5
"I begin by normal summoning my Action-Buddy Little Professor." A small girl with blonde hair and brown eyes, wearing a white lab coat and black boots appeared on Morgan´s field. She holds a book in her left hand.

"Next I set one card face-down and end my turn." Morgan said as she started off with confidence.
"Good start." Lucy said. "Our schools may don´t get along that well, but I´m still honoured to be able to duel against you."
"Then let´s give it our best shot !" Morgan said with a smile.
TURN 2 Lucy LP 4000 Hand 5 / Morgan LP 4000 Hand 3
"I draw !" Lucy yelled as it continued to snow all around. "I summon Dance Princess of the Ice Barrier !" A purple haired female in a red outfit with long black sleeves appeared. She held two blue shields.

"I now play the continuous Spell, Double Freeze ! Once per turn, if I control an Ice Barrier monster which is level four or below then I can special summon another Ice Barrier monster from my hand whose level is also level four or below !"
"She is quick in getting monsters out." Morgan said to herself.
"Appear the Tuner monster, Defender of the Ice Barrier !" An orange fox with blue shards running down its back came to the field.

"A Tuner. So she is a Synchro user." Morgan said.
"Morgan. Pendulum Summoning is powerfull but Synchro Summoning will reign supreme here ! But first I use Dance Princess´ effect !" Lucy said.
"An effect ? So she isn´t going for an instant Synchro Summon." Brody said from the sidelines.
"Since I control another Ice Barrier monster, I can reveal any amount of Ice Barrier monsters in my hand to then send that amount of set Spells and Traps on your field back to your hand." Lucy said.
"No way." Morgan said.
"I reveal a second Dance Princess ! Now I return your set card !" Two shards of ice appeared above Morgan´s card as she went running for an Action Card. The two icicles landed onto her set card and Morgan was forced to add it back to her hand. She then saw an Action Card just in front of her.
"I now tune Dance Princess with Defender of the Ice Barrier !" Lucy yelled.
("Damnit !") Morgan thought as the Action Card got closer. Defender became three grin rings and Dance Princess went through as white orbs. ( 3+4 = 7 )
"Prepare yourself, Morgan ! I Synchro Summon ! Appear ! Royal Dragon of the Ice Barrier !" A large light green snake like dragon appeared. It had a pair of white wings and wore white armour on its head.

("So she has a dragon as well. Like brother, like sister.") Morgan thought.
"I use his effect ! I can return any amount of cards I control back to my hand and this card gains 300 attack points until the end phase !"
Morgan at this point had reached and grabbed the Action Card. Bad point, this one couldn´t help her right now.
"I return Double Freeze and increase my Dragon´s attack !" The card returned to Lucy´s hand as the dragon powered up.
Royal Dragon ATK/2400 (+300) 2700
"Now attack !" Royal Dragon fired a white energy beam and Morgan could only watch as the attack hit her monster and destroyed it. This made Morgan staggering back a bit.

"I end my turn. My dragon´s attack returns to normal." Lucy said and her dragon lowered its head a bit. Royal Dragon ATK/2400
"She´s powerful." Morgan said as she regained a firm stance.
"Now, Morgan. If you still wanna have the chance to gain the champion title, then come at me with everything you have !" Lucy yelled and Morgan only gritted her teeth. This isn´t going to be easy to win.

Exelion Heart : "Pointing to a move Lynn did in her Duel... the slightly new rules for Dueling I introduced in the first chapter still count which is why Lynn could normal Summon both of her Windwitch-Ice Bell. However, those rules right now only work here in Standard. Should I later change my mind about that, then don´t worry. I will leave a small message when the time comes."
