The doctor walked with Nessa and Fiyero who had some questions about the treatments. Glinda took the chair and sat down with Elphaba. She took Elphaba's hand. ''This is not the morning I imagined after last night. Oz this was not the day I imagined. I had prepared a whole speech to convince you that you should choose me. But now I have to give a speech that you need to get better. But don't worry about us Elphie. Think about yourself first.'' Glinda started to cry because Elphie didn't respond. Glinda felt her anger grow.

''How can you be so stupid anyway? Why didn't you say you were barely eating so you could afford that bracelet. I've been worried about you for days because you didn't eat well and you know what you were doing. Why did you think it was a good idea to starve yourself for a present? You worked extra with Dr. Dillamond for the money. Isn`t?'' It remained silent. Glinda felt so hopless, so scared.

But then she suddenly had words in her head. She felt her magic grow too. Glinda got scared but started reciting the spell. She knew from the stories of Elphaba that it sometimes happened to her and that she had to trust her magic. Suddenly Elphaba lights up. But Glinda kept casting the spell.

When the light was gone, Glinda leaned back in the chair. She called the nurse. ''NURSE! where are you?'' she called. from the chair.

The nurse came running. ''Glinda what is going on?'' she asked concerned.

''I don't know,'' Glinda said weakly. ''I started to cast a spell and suddenly there was a light. I don't know what happened.''

The nurse frowned. ''Are you magical?''

Glinda nods.

The nurse nodded and walked over to the bed. She took a good look at Glinda. ''I'm going to look at the wounds from Elphaba and then you go straight to your room and go to sleep, is that clear?'' the nurse asked sternly.

Glinda nods. The nurse first felt Elphie's bones. ''Mmm that's weird.'' She said softly. Then she took the bandage off and saw that the wounds were gone.

She looked at Glinda, who was almost asleep in the chair.

''Do you know what spell you used?''

Glinda shake her head.

''I think you used a healing spell. Elphaba's wounds have healed and her broken bone is healed again. This is very strange but good news for her.'' The Nurse said flatly. She was very concerned about Glinda, because healing all the wounds at once takes a lot of strength and often go wrong. She didn't want to be happy for Glinda or Elphaba too soon.

Glinda wanted to be happy, but she didn't know why the nurse reacted that way. She was also too tired to dance happily. She did have a big smile on her face. ''That's good news,'' she said with a hint of enthusiasm.

''I think so,'' the nurse said thoughtfully. ''But you're going to your room now and I'll be there in a few hours to see if you're really asleep. I will also bring some food.''

Glinda swallowed hard and nods. ''Fiyero is already bringing me food. I will sleep. I promise. Just make sure Elphie isn`t alone.''

The nurse looked at Glinda. ''Fine, but is you are not looking better when I see you again, I will give you a sleeping pill.

Glinda nods and said her goodbyes. She hurried to her own room. She knew Nessa and Fiyero could come any time, but she didn't care. She was completely drained by the spell. She dropped onto Elphie's bed. She smelled the familiar scent and fell asleep. Glinda didn't even have time to think about what had happened in the morning.

Meanwhile, Fiyero and Nessa were getting food at the cafe. It was busier than they thought. They were silent all the way. Fiyero now and then put his hand on Nessa's shoulder and squeezed it gently. When they finally had lunch, Fiyero walked to a bench where not many students were with Nessa. ''Uhm Fiyero, didn't we meet with Glinda in her room?''

''Yes, but I want to know how you are first. Elphaba is your sister and your father is somewhere. You are strong Nessa but this is a lot.''

Nessa got tears in her eyes and started to cry again. ''I am so tired of crying,'' she said sobbing. ''I feel so stupid and bad that I didn't notice anything about Elphaba.''

Fiyero let Nessa cry and tell her everything she wanted.

''Listen Nessa,'' said Fiyero kindly but sternly. ''What happened happened. You can think back to the past and about the what if`s. But that makes no sense. What are you going to do to change everything now?''

''I do not know.'' Nessa said miserably

''Yes, you know. Listen to your gut.''

Nessa nodded but said nothing. Fiyero was pleased with his speech so he got up and wanted to push Nessa away until he heard his name.

''Fiyero Fiyero,'' The parents from Glinda arrived at an accelerated pace. ''Luckily we found you. We were meeting Glinda for lunch but she didn't show up. We went to her room but she wasn't there. So we searched the entire campus. We met Shenshen and Pfannee but they didn't know where she is either. Do you where she is? We are worried. We heared some rumors that she's at the doctor's office. We're walking there now.''

Fiyero looked at the parents with concern. ''When were you in her room?''

''An hour ago,'' Samual said quickly. ''Why? What happened? Where's Glinda?'' he added quickly.

''Glinda was with us at the doctor's office. So it may be true that she was not in her room.''

''What? why was she at the doctor.''

Nessa sighs. ''Fiyero, you don't make it better. Glinda is okay. We're going to her room now. Maybe you want to come along? We could use some adult help.''

Leanne and Samual looked at each other with concern. ''Okay, let's go. Show the way,'' Leanne said, taking her husband's hand.

Fiyero nodded. ''This is Nessarose. Elphaba's sister. Nessarose these are Glinda's parents. Leanne and Samual Upland.'' They shook hands and walked to Glinda's room.

They were at the door of the building when she heard someone shout Nessa's name. ''Nessa, sweet Oz how happy I am to see you.''

Boq came running. He stopped for Nessa and gave her a hug. ''Everyone has gone crazy on campus. One story is even more crazy than the other. Your father was picked up by school security and taken to the Gale Force. They are looking to you, your sister and Glinda for an explanation. People say Elphaba kidnapped you and Glinda. Or that Glinda and Elphaba had a big fight that Elphaba destroyed school property. I need to see if you guys are okay.'' Boq said quickly and breathlessly.

Everyone stood with their mouths open looking at Boq. ''Are you kidding me? What will happen when the real story comes out?'' Nessa asked concerned. ''Our life is over. We can't go to Shiz anymore.''

''Calm Nessa. Nothing has happened yet. We'll figure it out.'' Fiyero's interrupted Nessa's panic attack.

Leanne knelt before Nessa. ''Nessa honey. Take a slow breath in and out with me.'' They took a breath together. ''Well done honey. We now go together to Glinda. There you tell everything you know and then we make a plan. Is Elphaba also with Glinda?''

Nessa shake her head. ''Elphaba is the one who's in the doctor's office. She's unconscious.'' She said softly.

Leanne managed to hide her shock well. ''Then we all go to Glinda`s room now.''

Fiyero nodded. ''Glinda will be worried. We are a half an hour later than we planned with a lot more people then expected. She will also be hungry.'' He said with a small smile as he held up the bag of food.

Leanne took the bag of food from Fiyero as the men lifted Nessa upstairs. When they reached Glinda's room Leanne knocked hard on the door.

Glinda was sound asleep when she heard the knocking from afar. She woke up slowly. ''Yes yes,'' she called grumpily. ''I'm getting there.''

Glinda opened the door and was amazed to see so many people. Leanne immediately flew around Glinda's neck and gave her daughter a big hug. Glinda was too surprised to say anything. She hugged her mother.

After everyone settled into their room and everyone started to eat. Fiyero had fetched way too much food so everyone could eat a sandwich. Glinda began to talk about what had happened from the arrival of Frex. Everyone listened to the story in shock. Leanne was especially concerned about her tired-looking daughter and Elphaba. Everyone was confused when Glinda said she had healed Elphaba but most of all they where relieved.

''When I came here I immediately went to sleep.'' Glinda ended her story.

Everyone looked at Boq who began to tell his stroy. That some people have seen Frex walking with handcuffs. He had been transferred to the Gale Force. Rumors were already circulating about what could have happened, but no one was sure. ''There are people from the Gale Force walking around looking for you, '' Boq said as he pointed to Nessa and Glinda. ''They want to hear the whole story before they lock up the governor of Munchkinland. Which of course makes sense.''

Everyone nodded. "What now?" Fiyero asked after everyone was silent for a moment to think.

Samual looked at Leanne and they started a silent conversation. Until Leanne nodded and opened her mouth. "I suggest we all go to the Gale Force. There Nessa and Glinda tell their story. We go with all of us so that they also have the support. Then we go to Elphaba to get an update on her condition. When everything is quiet we go back to our rooms and go to bed early. Tomorrow we meet again at Elphaba.''

Everyone looked at each other and nodded.

They first ate another sandwich. The atmosphere was not very pleasant, so Leanne decided to talk to everyone about how they were feeling. Starting to process everything early could never hurt, Leanne thought. Everyone said that they were very shocked and that Elphaba had managed to hide it well. Soon came the fun stories about Elphaba and the group of friends. Laughter filled the room, and Leanne was pleased. Within an hour they all walked to the Gale Force. They all went to the office with them.

''Hello people, I am Chef Juilan, I am in charge of this investigation. We want to ask you some questions about what happened. Who is Glinda?''

Glinda gently raised her hand. ''I'm Glinda. sir.''

Juilan nodded. ''And the rest?''

Everyone quickly introduced themselves and why they were there. ''Good,'' said Juilan who wanted to continue as soon as possible, ''Then start with your story.'' He said while looking at Glinda.

Glinda began to tell her story again. Juilan took notes and asked questions.

Then he looked at Nessa. ''You are Elphaba's sister?''

Nessa nodded.

''You have not noticed the abuse?''

Nessa shake her head. ''I did notice that Elphaba was treated differently. I also knew that Elphaba once told in the village that she was being mistreated. But no one believed her. Nobody gave her a chance to show her wounds. I was four at the time so I don't remember much about it and I couldn't do much for her either.''

Juilan nodded. ''Did your father do anything to you too?''

''No, he is a good governor and a good father.'' Nessa was silent for a moment. ''He was good at pampering me. I got everything I wanted and more. But Elphaba raised me. She gave me safety and taught me a lot. She was the one who danced with me across the room because I was sad because I couldn't walk.'' Nessa said softly.

Juilan nodded. He wrote things down and asked some more questions.

''What will happen to us now? and with Munchkinland?'' Nessa asked.

''Your father had already arranged a number of things for Munchkinland before he went to Shiz. He had put one of his ministers in charge. This minister will remain in charge until new elections come. But it could also be that the minister remains in charge until one of the children from Frex takes over the governorship.''

Nessa nodded. She was reassured with that idea. All her life she wanted to be Governor of Munchkinland. Then she can finally do the right things she always wanted to do.

''I wouldn't know what is going to happend with you and your sister. You can stay on Shiz all year round. After that, school fees have to be paid again. You have to arrange how that is paid for yourself. Although I think the minister can give you the money. Maybe your father has saved a lot of money so that you can finish the course. That seems like the logical case since you are already in school.''

Nessa nodded. ''Can we still stay at Colwen Grounds?''

''It's the Governor's house so I think you can stay there. But you have to arrange that with the minister. You can sent him a letter of we can talk to him if you prefer. Fortunately, it is a unique situation that we do not often encounter.''

Nessa nodded in relief. She was worried that she would have to stay at Shiz all year round and not be able to go back to her own home. Fiyero squeezed Nessa's shoulder and smiled encouragingly.

After two hours of talking about what will happen next to Frex, Nessa and Elphaba, they were finally able to leave. They all walked to the doctor's building. Leanne actually wanted that Glinda went to bed but Glinda was determined to visit Elphaba.

''So this is it,'' Nessa said sadly. ''My father is going to prison.''

Nobody said anything. Juilan explained that Frex is likely to be sentenced to 20 years in Souhtstairs. Even without Elphaba's confession, Frex would go to prison because Glinda is a witness. Frex also spoke up during the interrogation. Julian had explained that Frex had used a few less pleasant words to describe Elphaba.

Everyone wondered how anyone could treat their own daughter like that. Glinda had an idea that it was because Frex blamed Elphaba for the death of their mother and Nessa's disabled. But Glinda also knew there was nothing Elphaba could do about it. What Glinda couldn't figure out was why Frex didn't see for himself that it was his own fault.

They walked into the doctor's post and were greeted by a scream. Everyone ran to the counter. Glinda saw the doctor run to Elphaba's room. Glinda ran after it. She saw that Elphaba was sitting in the corner of the room. The nurse and the doctor knelt before her and tried to calm her down.

''What is wrong?'' asked Glinda shocked.

''What are you doing here?'' Damien asked irritably. ''You have to get out of here. She just woke up and is very confused. We need to calm her down first. Nurse makes sure the syringe is ready and I make sure she has nowhere to go.'' Damien said while he pushed everbody out of the room.

''No,'' said Glinda who is mostly afraid of the needles herself. ''Allow me to calm her down before the nurse returns with the needle.''

Everyone looked at Glinda in surprise. ''Let her try it,'' Nessa said softly. She wasn't a fan of needles herself and if anyone could calm Elphaba it was Glinda. Glinda had also managed to make Elphaba soical.

''You have nothing to lose.'' Fiyero added. At that moment Elphaba screamed again and they saw her crawl out of the corner to the door to escape.

''All right,'' Damien said with a sigh. ''All right, you have five minutes.''

Glinda immediately walked to Elphaba. She squatted in front of Elphie so that Elphie had nowhere to go.

''Elphie, Elphie it's me,'' Glinda said softly. Glinda knew that Elphaba didn't like to be touched, so she didn't take her hand.

Elphaba panicked so blindly. The last thing she remembered was that she was in the classroom with her father. When she woke up she heard nothing but strangers voices. She also saw strange figures. Elphaba is scared and very confused.

But through all the chaos, she heard a familiar voice. ''Elphie it's Glinda. It's time to wake up.''

Elphaba slowly calmed down and tried to look at where the voice was coming from. ''Well done Elphie. We are now going to take a quiet breath. In and out. Join me Elphie. Breathe in and out.''

Elphaba did as she was asked and breathed with Glinda. She felt calm. The blurred figures became clearer and suddenly Elphie saw Glinda kneeling on the floor in front of her. Elphaba looked surprised, she was still terrified but Glinda smiled at her. ''Very good Elphie. Keep breathing like this. Welcome back.'' Glinda said with a smile. Elphaba tried to smile back. She looked at her hands and then back at Glinda. She moved her hand slowly to Glinda's hands. Their fingers touched gently. Glinda looked at her hand when she felt the contact. She rubbed Elphaba's hand with her thumb. ''Very good Elphie. Are you calmer again?''

Elphaba swallowed but couldn't speak yet so she nodded.

''Good. I'm going to help you get up and then we'll put you to bed.'' Elphaba still didn't know what was going on but nodded anyway.

''You are doing very well Elphie. Is it okay if I ask Fiyero to help?'' Elphaba's eyes widened. All a bit confusing for Elphaba but she knew she had to get off the ground. The ground was very cold. She looked Glinda in the eye and nodded. She knew Fiyero so it was good.

Everyone was still watching how Glinda was doing with Elphaba. ''It's great that conection they have.'' whispered Samual to Leanne.

''Fiyero, do you want to help?'' Glinda asked, but she kept looking at Elphaba.

Fiyero let go of Nessa's wheelchair and walked to Elphaba, Glinda was still in front of Elphaba so that she saw only Glinda. Glinda feared that Elphaba would relapse if she suddenly saw everyone standing there.

With Fiyero's help, Elphaba quickly found himself in bed. Where Elphaba immediately closed her eyes. ''I am so tired'' she whispered to no one.

''Then go to sleep, tomorrow is a new day.'' Glinda whispered as she pulled her hair from Elphaba's face.

''But what happened?'' Elphie whispered

''Nothing to worry about right now, Elphie. Sleep.'' Glinda said as she kissed Elphie on the cheek. ''Okay, I trust you Glin. I..I love….''

Glinda had a smile. Elphaba was soon asleep. She turned to the doctor. ''You see, no needles. That is so much better.'' Everyone laughed at Glinda's comment.

''What happened?'' Nessa asked concerned to the doctor.

''She woke up earlier than we thought. She was in a panic attack and didn't know where she was. She fell out of bed. The nurse heard a loud thump and went to look. When she called me I went to have a look and I saw Elphaba crawling away to the corner. Then you came in.''

Everyone nodded. ''Is she okay?''

''I think so. We still have to examine her, of course, but I don't think she sustained any permanent damage when she fell out of bed.''

Leanne and Samual informed the doctor what Chief Juilan had said and how Elphaba now continued. Fiyero, Nessa, Boq and Glinda were sitting with Elphaba and talking quietly to each other.

''Okay kids it's time to go.'' Said Samual after a half an hour.

Everyone wanted to protest but Samual held up his hand. ''We are going to eat first and then everyone goes to sleep. We've had a lot of information to process. We are all tired. Certainly you,'' he said while pointing to Glinda, ''you are still tired of the spell. Tomorrow we will meet again here after breakfast.''

Everyone knew Samual was right, but that doesn't make it any more fun.

Nobody wanted to eat anywhere, so they agreed to eat in Glinda's room again. Slowly they discussed everything that had happened and said today. They mainly discussed the consequences. Nessa was very sorry for her father and cried a few times. Leanne and Samual suggested they write a letter to the minister of Munchkinland to clarify for Nessa and Elphaba. Everyone was very grateful for the offer and it would help a lot.

Boq suggested that Nessa and Elphaba could have stayed with him during the Lurlinemas vacation. Nessa was grateful for that but didn't know if she wanted to spend three weeks at home with her ex boyfriend. Glinda also wanted to protest immediately because she wanted to stay with Elphie and know exactly what would happen with her.

''Maybe we should first have a look at what the minister says. We also need to look at Elphaba's condition both physically and emotionally,'' Samual said before the two girls could say anything.

It was soon time to say goodbye, but Glinda and Nessa didn't want to be alone. So Fiyero suggested that Nessa and Glinda sleep in the room together.

''Would Madame Morrible approve?'' Nessa asked doubtfully.

''I think so,'' said Fiyero. ''It's a special case. I can say you just fell asleep in the room.''

''And how are you going to explain and Madame Morrible that you are in my room while Nessa is sleeping here?'' Glinda asked with a raised eyebrow.

''Well, that's a good question,'' Fiyero said, blushing.

''You can just say that Glinda's mother said that to you. Since she knows who you are and she doesn't know where Madame Morrible sleeps,'' Boq said with a shrug.

''What Boq says,'' Fiyero said proudly as if it were all his plan.

''I'm okay with it,'' said Glinda. ''I still have an extra toothbrush and pajamas for you.''

Nessa nodded. ''Thank you.''

Everyone said goodbye and arranged a time when they would meet at the cafe. Fiyero first went to Madame Morrible to explain Nessa's absence.

''Fiyero do you know if Nessa knows what happened to her father and Elphaba?'' Morrible asked while she narrowed her eyes of suspicion.

''Yes she knows. Glinda's parents and her friends are helping her through it.''

''Okay, that's okay, Then I don't have to tell the bad news or get involved. They just want us to sympathize with the family.'' said Morrible, closing the door.

Fiyero thought it strange how Madame Morrible reacted, but was glad he could leave quickly. He didn't like the fishwoman. Way too strict and way too weird for him. On the way back he thought all the reasons why Madame Morrible wanted to get away from this situation. Its main reason was, of course, the name of her school.

Meanwhile, Glinda and Nessa were already doing a makover. Glinda wanted a distraction and Nessa liked a makeover unlike Elphaba.

''Nessa? Have you forgiven me for the eruption of the day before yesterday?'' Glinda asked while working on Nessa's hair.

Nessa blinked. ''We haven't talked about that at all,'' Nessa said shocked. ''So much has happened. Boq broke up, Elphaba and my father. I had completely forgotten.''

There was a pause.

''I was so worried something had happened to Elphie. I just had found out what her father was doing to her and I chased her away. I went mad with concern. I had been thinking about her all day. I knew I had to give her the space I needed myself. When you said she wasn't back yet, something snapt in my head. I was so scared. That I convert to anger and it out on you.''

Nessa nodded. ''Glindat, you are forgiven. You're a good friend. I never thanked you for saving Elphaba from my father. If you hadn't gone looking for her who knows what would have happened. and you then healed her so that she has no permanent damage. You saved her twice. Now she will soon be comfortable again. I was not looking forward to putting a stubborn Elphaba to bed because she needs to rest.''

Nessa turned her chair and opened her arms. Glinda immediately gave her a hug. ''Thank you for being such a good friend,'' Glinda said seriously.

''Thank you for being a good friend too,'' Nessa said with tears in her eyes.

The girls quickly finished the makeover and decided to go to bed.
