Chapter 11: Baby's Heroes

"Okay, we know what to do," said Pearl. "Now let's go in and get our little Saki back."

"Are you sure this will work?" Agent 8 asked.

"Has to, lass," said Captain Cuttlefish. "Though are you sure you don't want to sit this one out?"

She shook her head. "Octavio thinks him kissing me had some affect on me," she said. "That's our trump card. His arrogance will be his downfall."

"But are you sure you're up for it, 8?" Agent 4 asked, wrapping his arms around her in a hug.

She was a bit surprised, but then blushed. "Yes," she said. "Are you and Yumi okay with being bait?"

He nodded. "For Saki, yes," he said.

Cuttlefish nodded. "Alright," he said. "Marina, you ready?"

"Ready," she said.

"Marie? Callie?"

"Ready," both girl said together.

He nodded. "Then, Operation: Rescue Saki is in effect," he said. "Good luck."

At Octavio's lair, the villain was laughing as he had the baby in a cage and his gold around him. "Ah, this is perfect," he said. "Why didn't I think of this sooner?"

An Octoling soldier came into the room. "A message for you, sir," he said. "On the video chat."

"I knew it," the villain gloated. "That Inkling weakling will do anything for the baby to be safe."

He turned on the video and saw Agent 8's face. "Oh, hello, my dear," he cooed. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

8 took a deep breath. "I'm bringing Agents 3 and 4 to you, Milord," she said, her voice monotone. "As repentance for my leaving your army and your rule."

Octavio grinned. "So my kiss did affect you," he said. "Well, my dear, bring the prisoners here and we can discuss your returning." He grinned bigger. "I've been in search of a queen. You'll do nicely."

The red-haired Octoling bowed before the camera went dark and the villain grinned before laughing. "Oh, this will be a very sweet victory," he gloated as he got some things ready. "Oh, those Inkling's will finally bow to me."

The baby, watching him from her cage, whimpered as she curled up, not liking this evil person. He looked scary and she wanted her mommy and her family.

Outside...

Agent 8 took a deep breath as she led 3 and 4 to the opening of Octavio's lair. Both looked pretty beat up with bruises and scratches. The guards stopped them and 8 lifted up her head, giving them a blank stare. "I have prisoners for Lord Octavio," she said, her voice monotone. "He is expecting me."

The guards didn't look sure, but then a voice rang out, making them jump. "Guards! Let her in!" Octavio's voice rang out. "Show some respect for your new queen!"

The guards bowed and let her in, to which she guided the bound Inklings inside. Once they were around a corner and out of camera range, she turned to them. "Okay, here comes the tough part," she said.

"We've got to," 3 said.

"For my baby," said 4.

8 nodded. "Get ready," she said, loosening the ropes a little so that it looked like the two were tied up, but could get loose in a moment. She then pressed a comlink to her ear. "Pearl? You guys ready?"

"We're ready to put on the concert," said the singer.

"Marina? You ready?"

"Ready," the teal Octoling said as she was in position to get the baby away from there.

Nodding, the red Octoling put away the comlink and proceeded to Octavio's office with the two in tow as prisoners.

Octavio smirked as they came in. "Come in, my dear," he said, his voice sickly sweet. "I knew I made the right choice to make you my bride."

"I have the prisoners, Milord," she said, bowing to him.

"Excellent," he said, coming over. "What a good wedding present."

"There's more," 8 said. "A concert."

"Oooh! By Pearl and those two cousins?" He asked. "Normally I wouldn't want them to perform here, but considering this is a special occasion, I'll let them perform."

She nodded. "What shall we do with these two, Milord?" She asked.

"Throw them in the dungeon," he said. "I'll tend to having that concert while you change."

She nodded and he headed out. When she was sure he was gone, 8 freed her friends. "Hurry!" She said in a whisper, hearing the band start up as she gave 3 the comlink.

3 took it and spoke into it. "Marina, do you see Saki?" She asked.

"Yes, she's nearby," said Marina. "I'm going to get her now."

Hearing her aunt, the baby perked up and let out a happy squeal, reaching for her. Marina smiled and went up to her. "Hey, sweetie," she said. "Don't worry, Aunty Marina will have you free in a moment and we'll get you back to your mommy."

Outside, Pearl and the Squid Sisters were jamming it up before they nodded and crossed the mics too close to the speakers. The result was very loud feedback that made all the Octolings cringe and cover their ears. The singers had earplugs in, so they weren't affected.

Octavio covered his own ears and glared at them before feeling something splatter against him and he turned to get a face full of ink from Agents 3 and 4. Letting out a roar, he charged, but Agent 8 came out and she kicked him right in the face before shooting some nets at him, catching him and pinning him down. "What?!" He roared.

Agent 3 pointed a harpoon at him, her eyes filled with anger. "Hear me well, Octavio. You touch my baby again and you will pay."

He glared at her. "You fool! You will serve me!" He said.

"Never!" Callie cried out as the singers drummed up the beat again with the feedback, making the enemy Octolings cry out again and Octavio was getting a headache before he roared as he kept getting hit with ink.

"Now, 8!" Pearl called out.

The red-haired Octoling pulled out something. "Here's a little parting gift, creep," she said, tossing it as her friends got away and the item exploded, revealing to be a glitter paint bomb that was a hot pink in color.

And it landed right on Octavio.

When the air cleared, he stood up before hearing laughter and looking to see that his normal red-violet color had changed to a hot pink and was very glittery. "Ahh!" He cried out, trying to wipe it off, but it wasn't working.

The Inklings and their friends laughed before quickly heading back to Cuttlefish's ship, which was docked nearby. He was chuckling as they climbed aboard and shoved off. Agent 3 looked around and felt a hand on her shoulder, making her turn to the Captain. "Your daughter is below deck with Marina," he said.

Quickly, the young mother ran down to the lower deck, finding her friend and her daughter, who squealed happily and reached for her as the teal Octoling smiled and handed the baby to her. "She's not hurt, Yumi," she said softly. "Saki is okay."

The green Inkling held her baby close. "Oh, Saki," she said, crying. "I've got you, baby. Mommy's here."

Saki cooed happily as she snuggled into her mother's hug. "Mama!" She said happily.

"Yes, Mommy's here," the Inkling said. "Mommy won't let that horrible meanie hurt you ever again."

Agent 8 smiled as she watched this before heading out and finding Agent 4 standing there, waiting for her. "8, are you okay?" He asked.

She nodded. "I'm just...glad we got Saki away from Octavio," she said.

"And you as well," he said before holding her closer. "When we get back, can I take you on a real date?" He asked. "Show you how a real gentleman is supposed to be?"

She blushed, but nodded before seeing him lean closer and she did the same as they kissed.

Pearl saw this and smiled. "Don't hurt her, 4," she said under her breath before seeing 3 come up with Saki and the baby squealed, reaching for them. "There's our adorable niece," she cooed, accepting the baby from the mother.

Agent 3 smiled. "Thank you for helping me rescue her," she said.

"That's what family does, Yumi," Cuttlefish said. "Saki's one of us and when one of our own is in trouble, we get together to rescue them."

She nodded gratefully as she accepted her daughter from Callie and held her as they continued on the journey towards home.

Whew! Looks like Octavio learned that it's never good to take a mama bear's cubs. XD
