"Haruto look" Aika points to a giant scroll on the wall "It says, if qualities of Heaven are your desire, acquire wisdom to take your mind higher. If Earthly qualities are what you lack, train your body and prepare to attack, When heaven and Earth are opened together, the perilous path will be righteous forever. This something is the secret way that guides us from this place today."
"Yep, we should definitely open them" Haruto says
Aika takes the earth scroll out of her pouch. The two look at each other before opening the scrolls together. The scrolls started to emit smoke and the two drop the scrolls onto the floor. From the smoke appeared Kakashi.
"Yo" He greets with a wave
"Kakashi-Sensei!" Aika shouts surprised and happy
"Yep" Kakashi looks at her "look at you kid, you look like you've been fighting"
"She has been" Haruto places his hand on top of her head "she's real strong you know"
"Just a guess here but.. by chance Aika.. were you the one that caused that big fire in the forest 2 days ago?" Kakashi asks with a smile
"I.. uh.." Aika looks away "maybe.."
"Nice" Kakashi compliments "your fire's as strong as ever"
"What kind of sensei are you?" Aika questions with a giggle
"The kind that doesn't mind a little destruction if my team is improving" Kakashi replies "It was a good idea for me to put you with Haruto"
"So why are you here Kakashi?" Haruto asks
"Well you see, at the end of the second exam, the chunin are suppose to welcome the test takers back" Kakashi answers "but I requested for me to greet you two back, especially after that big fire in the forest, you really scared the proctors Aika"
"hehe" Aika rubs the back of her head "I was a bit mad"
"so what's our message?" Haruto questions
"Eh.. I don't remember" Kakashi says
Haruto and Aika facepalm
"Alright you two, go rest" Kakashi instructs "once the 5 days are up the next part of the exam will start"
"Yes Sensei" Aika smiles
"We'll do this no sweat" Haruto smirks
The two high-five before Aika hugs Kakashi.
"You did great kiddo" Kakashi tells her
Kakashi watches with concern as Aika and Haruto walk out of the room.
"that girl.." Kakashi stares at the closing door "is growing angry.. " he looks up at the ceiling "I have a bad feeling.."
After the final day/night were over, all who passed met in an area. Aika looks around the room to see who made it. All the rookies made it, including Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.
"First of all, congratulations on finishing the second exam!" Anko announces "Alright now. Pay attention!" Anko continued "Lord Hokage is going to explain the third exam to you so you better listen carefully, maggots. Lord Hokage, they're all yours."
Nodding, he walked forwards and cleared his throat "First before I tell you what the exam entails, I want to explain something about the test itself. Listen closely now. It's something all of you need to understand. I'm going to tell you the true purpose of these exams. Why do you suppose our country holds these exams in conjunction with our allies? ..To Raise the ability levels of the shinobi and to increase friendships of allied nations but it's important.. it's true meaning.
The exams are so to speak they are a representation of the battle between allied nations. Now if we look at our history, all the countries we're currently allied with were once neighboring nations that continuously fought with each other for power. in order to avoid destroying each other's military meaninglessly, those nations picked champions to do battle on behalf of their countries on a mutually selected occasion was how the Chunin exams originally began."
"Why do we have to go through these exams then? It's not like we're doing this to pick Chunin to go fight." Naruto questions
'big brother shut up'
"Well actually, there is no question that part of the point of these exams are to select shinobi worthy of becoming Chunin, that's just not the whole story. These exams also allow a place where shinobi can carry the pride of their nation on their backs and fight against other ninja for their very lives. Many leaders and people are invited to attend this exam as guests and also possibly to seek shinobi to work for them.
This exam could determine the course of your ninja work from here on out and more importantly, those rulers would watch your battles and take notes of the strengths of each ninja each nation is gathering. If there's a gap of power between the countries, the strong nations are initiated for job requests for their ninja and conversely, the request to countries are deemed weak. Therefore, the stronger our nation is, the better our position when it comes to negotiating with neighboring countries so it's important to show how much military strength our village has." Lord Hokage replies
"Ok.." Kiba interrupts "Why is it necessary to risk our lives?"
"The country's strength is the village's strength. The village's strength is the shinobi's strength and the true strength of the shinobi is only achieved when it's pushed to its limits such as in a life and death battle.."
He went on to saying this exam allows the nations to show their strength. Because our life is on the line, it has meaning. He then started to give out instructions but a guy appeared, Hayate Gekko, the guy who has the chronic case of coughing.
"There's something I want all of you to do. We have to have a preliminary exam before we can move onto the real one. First and second exams might have been too easy. The fact is we never expected so many of you to be here. According to the rules, a preliminary round can be held at any stage in order to reduce the number of candidates remaining. If there is any of you that feel not in top physical condition, now's the chance to bow out. The preliminary will be starting immediately. The winners will be determined by one on one combat. Now's the time to raise your hand." Hayate says
Kabuto rose his hand along with his red-headed teammate "Okay, I'm out"
"You gonna back out Ai?" Haruto asks her
"No way" Aika crosses her arms "I'm ready to fight, bring it on"
Haruto smiles "great, their's the little fighter in ya"
"All right then.." Hayate continues "We'll now begin the preliminary round. This round will consist of one on one individual combat. This is not an exercise. There are 22 of you remaining that means we'll need 11 matches. The surviving candidates will advance to the third exam. There are no rules. You fight until one dies or are rendered physically incapable of continuing. Furthermore, as proctor, I can intervene if a match seems hopeless to save as many lives as possible. Now it's time to reveal what fate has chosen for you."
The panels there were opened. "The names of each opponent is chosen randomly. Before each match, these names will appear on the display behind me. There's nothing more to say, let's begin. In a moment, the names of the first two opponents will appear.."
The board read: Yoroi Akado vs Sasuke Uchiha.
"Sasuke's up first" Aika mutters
"Names of those have been drawn, come forward"
The other guy was from Kabuto's team. When they stepped forward, Aika noticed that Sasuke cringed.
'that's strange, I wonder what's wrong with Sasuke'
"You have been chosen for the first match; Yoroi Akado and Sasuke Uchiha. Are there any objections?"
"None."
"No."
"Those not chosen, clear the area and go to the upper are." Hayate instructs
Kakashi passes by Sasuke telling him something.
"Sasuke good luck!" Aika shouts happily
Sasuke looks over at her and smiles before going forward. Aika and Haruto stood with Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura.
"We stole the dude's scroll from his teammates but he still likes you.." Haruto pats Aika on the shouts "loverboy's deffinitly a simp"
"A w-what?" Aika looks at him confused and Haruto laughs
"If you're ready, let the match begin."
Yoroi threw shuriken and Sasuke did the same. He then charged at Sasuke, grabbed his head and pinned him to the ground.
"Sasuke!" Aika shouts worried
"M-my chakra, you're stealing it from me!" Sasuke stammers
Yoroi chuckles "You finally caught on, huh?"
Sasuke continued to cry out in pain.
"Get off me!" Sasuke kicked Yoroi in the stomach, knocking away from him.
"So, you still got some strength in ya, huh? Impressive for a guinea pig. Don't worry, little man, I'll make it short and sweet." Blue surrounded his hand and he went towards Sasuke again. Sasuke dodged each blow. "What's the matter? Is that the best you can do?"
"Hey, Sasuke! Come on man! What was that?! And you call yourself an Uchiha?! You're going to let this goon walk all over you! Come on! Stop messing around and get it in gear!" Naruto shouts.
Sasuke turns to Naruto.
"I'll teach you to turn your back on me! Big mistake and your last!" Yoroi tried to grab Sasuke but he dodged and quickly 'disappeared, kicking Yoroi up.
Aika gasps when she sees blacks mark covering Sasuke's neck, many people couldn't notice this but Aika has sharp eyes. The black marks suddenly receded. Sasuke started to finish his attack with a down wards kick which slammed Yoroi to the ground. Sasuke slid away from Yoroi, panting.
"I'm deciding this match over. As the winner of this round, Sasuke Uchiha advances to the finals!" Hayate announces
People cheer.
"Way to go, Sasuke!" Aika cheers
Sasuke was then about to collapse but Kakashi teleports over and places his leg behind Sasuke's body so he leaned onto it.
"Not bad. Funny, before the lion's barrage, your technique was a lot like Guy's taijutsu. You must of used your Sharingan to copy it when you fought Rock Lee" Kakashi comments as Aika jumps over the railing.
"Hey Ai where are you going?!" Haruto shouts
Aika runs over looking worried "Sasuke what-"
"shh" Kakashi covers her mouth "we'll talk about it later, I gotta take Sasuke somewhere now, we got to do something about that thing"
"I want to see who goes onto the finals" Sasuke pants
"Sorry, not happening" Kakashi says lifting him up "Do your best Aika, we'll try to make it back for your match, since I know that's probably what Sasuke wants to see"
Aika watches Kakashi leave "Sasuke.."
