Jamie and I walked out of the cabin and to where everyone was gathered.
"All children eleven years and younger, head to the arena!" Chiron yelled. I watched as a girl from the Demeter cabin took Coral by the hand and led her to the arena.
"Now I know some of you don't know the rules, but I really don't care," Mr. D said, I just rolled my eyes.
"Everyone to the woods, and when you hear the horn, the game has started," Chiron yelled as everyone started to cheer.
I started to run into the woods just to be stopped by Clarisse and her cabin mates. Clarisse looked at me, crossed her arms then nodded, I nodded back as we parted ways and I ran deep into the woods.
Flashback to when Clarisse and Trish were talking about their plan.
"So, what's your so called "plan"?" Clarisse asked.
"Well, I want people to have fun, so I won't attack until a little while in the game."
"Okay, and?"
"So, I'm going to need a lot of strength for what I'm going to do, since I still don't have a lot of control over my curse. So, I'll go off into the woods to gain energy, if anyone comes across me, then I'll have to do something about them, maybe keep them there so that no one else knows where I am. I want to disappear for most of the game. Then I will completely stop everyone on the other team and freeze them in mid air so that you guys can grab the flag without any hassle, and you can easily bring it back to our side."
"Hmm, I think I made the right decision asking you to be on our team."
She then started to walk away, "Ya know what, you're really something girly."
Back to the present.
So now I was sitting in the middle of the dark woods, with only the faint glow of my body for light. I just sat there listening to the distant sounds of clashing swords, the breeze blowing through the leaves of the trees, and every so often I could hear the hoot of an owl.
I sat there listening to the different sounds of the dark until I heard a sound that I hadn't heard before. I was a faint whizz sound, it got louder as it got closer. I quickly stuck two fingers in the air right in front of my face. I opened my eyes to see an arrow hovering in the air, inches away from my face.
I looked up to see a guy with a bow in hand. I've seen him around camp before, but I didn't know his name. I guessed he was a son of Apollo since he had a bow in his hand, and was able to aim perfectly for my face from extremely far away, despite the trees.
He walked up to me and said, "So, this is where the "famous" Trish Sutton has gone off to."
"I'm not famous," I snarled.
"Are you kidding, everyone wanted you on their team, and we still don't know what team your on," He raised an eyebrow, "So, what team are you on?"
"I'm not telling you."
"Suit yourself," he went to turn away, I raised my hand, stopping him midair. I turned him around and floated him towards me.
I stood up and said, "I'm sorry, but I can't let you go. No one can know where I am."
"Like you can keep me here," he said as he started to struggle. I just sighed and tightened my grip a bit. He went to say something, so I forced his mouth shut. I went back to sitting and focusing on the sounds around me while I held the guy up in air.
The next person to come across me was Clarisse, "When are you going to do it?" she asked impatiently.
"Be patient Clarisse," I responded.
"No I won't be patient," she growled.
I just sighed, "Fine⦠but you have to carry be back, I'll be too weak to walk."
"Fine, now come on," she said as she led me to where the fighting was. When we arrived, I slowly walked up to everyone with my eyes shut, everyone started to quiet down. Since only Clarisse knew what team I was on, they were all holding their breaths to see which team I would attack.
I opened my fiery eyes, and with one swift movement of my hand, everyone except for the Ares cabin and Percy froze in place. I slowly started to walk over and grab the other team's flag when I kept hearing people say "show off". You see, I wasn't trying to show off, I just wanted the smaller team to win. I didn't think it was fair that 90% of the camp teamed up into one team. I then walked back cross my team's border, when I we had officially won, I raised my hand and carefully let go of everyone. Just as the Ares cabin (plus Percy, because he said that he wanted to beat Annabeth) started cheering, I fell to the ground. I could no longer hold myself up because I had used to much of my energy. Clarisse walked over to me and gently pick me up, which wasn't something I thought she could do. "You did good girly," Clarisse said.
When Clarisse got me back to camp, I could tell that everyone was upset. Saying that it wasn't fair that the Ares cabin had me on their team. By the time dinner had started, I was getting tired of getting the stink eye, and people saying that it just wasn't fair.
After I had gotten my food and sat down with Percy and Annabeth at the Poseidon table, I got up onto the table, and said, "Okay, listen up people! All of you keep saying that it wasn't fair that I was on the one team, but you know what! I don't think it was fair of all of you for teaming up on the Ares cabin. I don't know what that was about, and I really don't care, but if you didn't think it was fair for me to be on their team, then think again. Also, I'm tired of people using my curse for their own personal gain, its my curse. And to be honest this curse makes my life a living crap hole, so from now on, I wont be participating in any Capture the Flag games. It sucks for me, but at least I don't have to deal with you guys fighting over who gets me on their team, its my life and I get to pick so I pick none of the above!"
I sat quietly sat down and started eating. "Wow, what happened to the anxiety filled bomb who I brought to camp, huh," Percy said.
"Hey don't call her a bomb," Annabeth yelled at Percy.
"What! She blows up when she gets stressed."
"Well, if I want to be respected here then I'm going to need to say what's on my mind," I responded angerly, not looking up from my food.
"Hey sis," Connor and Travis said as they sat down on either side of me.
I just looked at them, "One, you can't sit here, and two, why'd you just call me sis?"
"Well one, we asked Chiron, and he said that it was a good idea because you might be able to get us in check," Connor said, I just snickered thinking about what we had done earlier.
"And two, you said that we reminded you of your brother, and we really want a sister that, you know, isn't a daughter of our dad," Travis finished.
"Wait how can you keep them in check?" Annabeth asked, "No one can do that."
"I have my ways," I smiled. By secretly helping them with their pranks, I thought.
"Stoll!" yelled someone from behind us. I turned around to see one of the Aphrodite cabin members, I think her name is Jazmin, but I wasn't sure.
"Yeah," both the brother's said, sounding annoyed.
"I know what you did," Jazmin said narrowing her eyes at them.
"They couldn't have done it though," I said, "during the incident they were with me the entire time, but then I went back to my cabin. But that was afterward. So, I couldn't have been these two."
She once again narrowed her eyes, "Fine, but I'm watching you two," she said while pointing two fingers their way. After she had left we high-fived each other under the table. I then went back to eating.
Like I had thought, today had been a crazy day.
Thanks for reading! I really like how this chapter turned out, its probably one of my favorite ones so far. Once again, I'll be back tomorrow for another chapter.
