Chapter 12 : You light up my life
Arizona's POV
Once Callie left to go to work at the hospital, I set off to do all the work I had to do during the day.
The first thing I had to do was to find the ultimate place to take Callie.
It had to be a nice place, a wonderfully romantic place, a place where she had never been before, a place where we could have enough privacy to talk and a place we could remember for a long time. After doing many researches on TripAdvisor and seeking advice from friends who lived or had lived in New York, I booked a table for two at the restaurant "Le Petit Paris".
After spending part of the morning looking for this restaurant, I decided to go for burgers with Sofia. It was Saturday and my daughter did not have any classes. After the meal, which went perfectly well, we wandered through the streets of the Big Apple to find new outfits for both of us.
After about two hours of shopping, we found an extremely charming little shop where we found a little blue dress for Sofia and a extremely elegant black suit for me.
As we were driving home by taxi, Sofia used my phone to call one of her best friends and ask if she could sleep over tonight. Her mothers needed a quiet chat.
Once we were home, I would leave Sofia to complete her homework while I went to one of the most outstanding florists in our neighborhood.
I wanted this evening to be up to the challenge. I wanted us to have a simply perfect time. So, I bought a beautiful bouquet of roses and cornflowers.
When I got home, I took a long shower to relax and then got ready for the evening. I wanted to look as beautiful as possible, so I spent a long time making sure I looked both elegant and sexy. I only had a few minutes to wait in the living room before I finally saw Callie arrive.
Callie's POV
When I first stepped into the house, the first thing I saw was the smile of a beautiful creature whose name was Arizona Robbins. Once I looked at her, it became impossible to take my eyes off her.
This woman was without a doubt the most beautiful woman that ever lived. Every time she entered a room, she illuminated it with a very soft and soothing light. She was capable to share her happiness with everyone she spoke with.
"You look...absolutely magnificent tonight!"I said, looking at her from the bottom up."You are simply breathtaking."
"Thank you, Cal." Arizona replied, obviously moved by my compliment. "Do you want to take a shower or do you want to go straight to the restaurant?"
"To be scrupulously honest," I replied, taking off my shoes, "I've been in the OR all day long, so all I dream about is a good hot shower."
"That sounds like a perfect plan for me!"
"Don't worry Arizona," I said hurriedly so as not to keep Arizona waiting too for a long time, "I'll try to make it quick. I'll be there in five minutes."
"You don't need to hurry." Arizona said to me in her very soft voice that could only soothe me and make me forget all my anxieties. "While you shower, I'm going to drop Sofia off at her friend Laura's, so you have all the time you need!"
This woman was unquestionably the perfect woman beyond doubt. She even knew how to predict what I wanted and needed.
Half an hour later, as I came out of the bathroom after getting ready for our evening, she was already there. She was waiting for me in the hallway with an undeniably beautiful bouquet in her hand.
"I remembered you were a pretty romantic woman," I said to her tenderly, "but at that point, it's pretty impressive."
"When you do something, it is better to do it thoroughly, otherwise it isn't worth much. It would almost be a waste, a waste of time and a waste of energy."
"I never said it bothered me in any way."
"In any case, even if it bothered you, you don't really have much of a choice as I have already planned it all. All you have to do is let yourself go while I do the rest."
"Sounds like a brilliant idea. But next time we'll reverse the roles."
"Because you think there will be a next time?" Arizona said with a laugh. "No kidding, it's fine with me if we reverse the roles next time."
"Then it is perfect." I said before grabbing my jacket. "Now, let's get going."
"Let's go."
We both put on our jackets before heading to one of the most beautiful evenings of our lives.
