"hey momma." Miranda said answering her cell phone.

"Hey Miranda how are you" Elena asked, missing her more each day.

"I'm doing good, sorry I haven't been calling. I just go so busy with school work. So what's up ma tell me everything that's been going on."

"Well Ben came by two weeks ago. He wanted to talk to you. Miranda you were wrong to leave and not tell him like that."

"We broke up." Miranda said as her heart clenched.

"Of course I know that but he looked so defeated. I really don't think he meant to hurt you.

"Well he did and momma I don't want to cut this short but Wellesley is partnering with Babson College today and I have to go host a table. Can I call you when I get back after your Bible study.

"Sure thing. I love you Mandy."

"I love you too." Miranda said quickly ending the call before blowing out a huge breath. She ran her hand through her hair. She thought about Benjamin Warren constantly since she left.

She didn't want to think about him anymore and the hurt she felt. She had never had her heart crushed before and deep down when she first started dating him, she had fallen in love so hard and so quickly that she knew that she wouldn't have been okay if he had broken her heart. This separation and break-up was probably best for her. She couldn't loose her self in a guy and the way she loved Benjamin Warren was scary, he had the power to hurt and damage her and he didn't even know it.

"Miranda you ready." Kim asked and Miranda shook her head walking with her roommate. Shaking Ben from her thought.

Miranda sat at her welcome booth greeting the other students from the other college hoping this college math and science conference was a blast.

Miranda looked up as she saw a shadow appear over her table, blocking the sun.

"Hi, how may I help you." Miranda said looking up.

"Hi my name is Tucker Jones and I really wanted to know who you are."

"Miranda….. Miranda Bailey." Miranda said blushing at the tall boy.

A whole school year passed and Ben was back home from his freshman year of college. It was July. Ben had decided to stay an extra month on campus. He really enjoyed the campus life. Now that he was home all he wanted to do was see one person and that was none other than Miranda Bailey. Even his friends at college knew all about her and how he loves her. Many of them told him to just let her be and maybe they weren't meant to be but he wasn't convinced, she was his whole heart and nobody could tell him other wise.

Ben got into his car and drove to Miranda's house. He walked to the front door and knocked twice waiting for someone to answer.

"Ben what a surprise. Come in." Elena said opening the door.

"Hello Mrs. Bailey." Ben spoke walking inside. He walked into the living room and stood.

"How was your first year of college, do you like it." Elena asked.

"College is great I maintained a 4.0 gpa and I lo-" Ben stopped mid sentence as he saw the photo on the mantle. He picked it up and swiped his eyes over the picture. His heart felt like someone just stabbed a knife into it.

"When-when did." Ben tried to get the words out but his whole body was shaking. The picture fell out of his hand hitting the floor. Shattering.

"I am so sorry Mrs. Bailey. I can give you money to pay for this." Ben said looking up at her. She saw the hurt is his eyes, they were glossy and she knew he was on the verge of breaking down.

"No that's okay. I know it was an accident. I'm sorry you had to find out like this."

"Wh-When." Ben asked stumbling over the words looking at the most hurtful things he had ever laid eyes on.

"May, she got married when she came home." Elena said softly.

Ben looked at the photo of Miranda in a white wedding dress. Holding this guy's hand and even though he is looking at the picture and her mother just told him, he still didn't want to believe it to be true. This was just a nightmare that he wanted to wake up from but sadly you can't from a reality.

Ben shook his head absorbing the information. "It was nice seeing you Mrs. Bailey. I'll see you around." Ben spoke softly walking to the door.

"Keep up the good work In school." Elena said as she opened the door for him.

"Yes ma'am." Ben replied before leaving out of the house.

It was official. Miranda Bailey had broken his heart and nothing he could have done prepared him for this. He tried wiping his eyes to get the image out of his head but he knew for sure that this was going to plague his mind.

Ben went home and sat in his room by himself. Thinking. He thought of the very first day they met, their first kiss, when they established they were a couple, the very first time they had sex and told each other they loved each other.

How could someone move on so fast. Fast enough to get married. She was starting a new life with some else and left his in shambles. Could you really stop loving someone after a year, enough to love another and marry that individual. How did she know that she wanted forever with that person. He thought she wanted forever with him. It just didn't add up. It wasn't making any sense.

What he didn't understand the most was even though his heart was burning and he felt like he wanted to snatch it out. He still wanted to see her.

"Ben." His mother called out.

"Yes." Ben yelled down from the stairs.

"You have a visitor from a college scout. Come down here."

Ben walked down stairs to see a man in a track suit with a ball cap.

"Hello." Ben said walking into the room.

"Benjamin Warren. I am coach Pullman. I was reading about your football career in high school and I feel like you would be an excellent asset to our team. I am here to offered you a full scholarship to the University of Washington. I know we are a year late but we could put you in the transfer program."

"Washington like Seattle. Across the country." Ben asked.

"Yes sir. We will offer you a full Ride for the rest of the 3 years on a football scholarship and throw in the travel expenses."

Ben thought about it. His mother looked at him. "Here take my card and let me know before the end of this month."

"Okay thank you sir." Ben said shaking his hand.

"Alright I look forward to hearing from you and making you apart of our team."

Ben's mother said goodbye and then shut the door.

"Ben I think this will be a good opportunity for you. That way you won't be in so much debt when school is over." Ben thought about it. His mom was right, he wanted to go to medical school and that was a lot of debt, so if he could cut down some of it. He should."

"Alright, I'm going." Ben smiled hugging his mom.

Miranda picked up her phone off of the nightstand it was 9 o'clock at night. "Hi momma." Miranda said knowing it was her.

"Hey Miranda how are you."

"I'm doing great I was just reading in bed. How about you?"

"Everything is great, your dad said hello and Miranda." Elena said like it was something she wanted to say.

"Tell him I said hello and ma what is it that you want to say." Miranda questioned.

"Ben came bye.-"

"He did." Miranda said sitting up.

"What did- does he-.

"He wanted to see you and yeah he does know, he saw the picture and accidentally dropped it out of shock. Breaking my frame."

Miranda felt so bad. She ran her hand through her hair. "Momma I can't think about that and him. Can I call you tomorrow."

"Sure. I love you. Why don't you come and stop bye."

"Okay I will." Miranda said hanging up.

"Dammit Ben." Miranda said out loud closing her book and putting both her phone and book on the night stand.

"Benjamin Warren." Miranda mumbled once again.

"Who's Ben." Tucker as scooting close to her in the bed. Laying in her neck.

"Uh, he is no one honey."
