House of Rats:

Alfie stared angry at Jerome and couldn't believe that one of his best friends would do such a thing.

"You dirty rat. Eavesdropping on me, while I was asleep! My best friend?" Said Alfie.

"Best friend? Best friends don't keep secret secrets from each other, said Jerome.

"Fabian was right, you really are a sneak. Just wait till they hear about this," said Alfie.

"Alfie you're not going to tell them, said Jerome.

"Oh no and why not? Asked Alfie.

"Well I don't think your new friends like to hear that you're a traitor, said Jerome.

'Hey I was asleep, said Alfie

"Well I wasn't sleeping. And I know plenty, Alfie, But I need to know more. I have got someone paying me big bucks for this information, said Jerome.

Alfie didn't know what to do and both boys went back to their own beds and nothing was said anymore.

The next morning, all the Anubis residents were sitting at the table having breakfast.

"So Election Day is after this weekend. Now, Alfie, of course, is a definite for Amber, so is Nina, so is her dear twin, so are Fabian and Caitlin and so am I," said Jerome.

"I thought you were on Team Mara?" Asked Otis.

"I was, Otis, but now I'm Team Amber and that just leaves Mick, Fiona, Otis and Patricia for you then, Mara, said Jerome Are you getting nervous? Asked Jerome in a taunting voice.

"Oh, back off, Clarke," said Mick.

It was another uncomfortable breakfast at Anubis house. After breakfast, the club went to Nina and Amber's room. The club noticed that Victor was hanging a large padlock on the attic door.

"Did you see how big that lock was? We will never get in the attic ever again," said Amber.

"Nina do you think you can pick that lock? Asked Aaron.

"Maybe, but then I would have to pick two locks and by the time I get to the second lock, Victor has probably already caught us, trying to get into the attic," said Nina.

"So now we really can't get to the Ankh pieces anymore," said Patricia.

"So it's over," said Amber.

"It's not over. It can't be over," said Nina.

"But Nina ...," said Patricia.

"No, we cannot give up. I promised Sarah that I would solve the mystery. Sarah needs to find peace and she will only find it if the treasure doesn't fall into Victor's hands," said Nina

"Nina is right. We must not give up and we are not going to give up. Sibuna," said Fabian, while he did the Sibuna gesture.

"Sibuna," said Nina, while she did the Sibuna gesture.

"Sibuna," said the rest of the club, while they did the Sibuna gesture.

"And what are we going to do about that lock?" Asked Patricia.

'We'll think of something, we always think something," said Fabian.

"For now let's focus on the riddle," said Nina.

"The problem with the riddle is we don't know what a Demisphere is," said Aaron.

"I've searched through all the books I that I've about Egypt but I can find. And nothing on the internet either," said Fabian.

Suddenly, Nina heard voices saying Unleash the power and light the way. Unleash the power and light the way.

"What did you say?" Asked Nina.

"I didn't say anything," said Patricia.

"I thought I heard something," said Nina.

"Oh no is the house talking to you again? I never like it when the house talks," said Amber.

"No, it wasn't the house. It sounded different," said Nina.

"Spooky," said Alfie.

"You're right Alfie, spooky. Spooky indeed," said Nina.

The club left the room and went into the living room. When the club arrived in the living room, Jerome called Alfie to come to the kitchen.

"What have you got for me?" asked Jerome.

"Nothing, said Alfie.

"Alfie, do I have to tell your new friends that you betrayed them because you talk in your sleep, said Jerome.

"But I really don't have anything for you. The new riddle is super hard to figure out and we can't get to the attic anymore, said Alfie

"Attic? What's up in the attic Alfie?" Asked Jerome

Alfie really didn't want to tell Jerome about the Ankh pieces, but he had no choice. Nina saw how Jerome and Alfie were whispering and thought it was suspicious.

"Do you really think we can trust Alfie?" Asked Nina

"I think we can trust him," said Fabian. "Why do you ask?" He asked.

"Because I see him whispering with Jerome right after our club meeting," said Nina,

"They're probably just planning a prank or something like that," said Fabian.

"I don't know, I don't trust It," said Nina.

Nina and Fabian decided to go to Fabian's room to study the riddle together. When Nina and Fabian walked into the hallway, Nina looked that chandelier and heard the voices that she heard earlier again.

"What is so very fascinating up there?" Asked Fabian.

"Huh," said Nina, who got of her trance.

"You're staring at the chandelier. Is there something that got your eye? Asked Fabian

"No nothing," nothing, said Nina.

Nina and Fabian headed to Fabian's room. Victor had seen everything and found it suspicious. Victor walked to his office and called Mr. Sweet to arrange a meeting for tonight.

The hours flew by and it was dinner time. The residents were sitting at the table when suddenly the doorbell rang. Moments later, Trudy entered the living room with three large pizza boxes.

"Anyone here ordered pizza?" Asked Trudy.

"Yes, that was me, said Jerome

"And are you going to eat those three large pizzas all by yourself? Asked Trudy.

"Of course not, I also ordered for Otis and Alfie. So are you two coming? Asked Jerome.

"Where are we going? Asked Otis.

"Me and Alfie's room, it's not really fair that we eat that pizza in front of everyone's noses here right now," said Jerome.

"But I already have something to eat, said Alfie

"You were talking in your sleep the other day and you could only talk about pizza, said Jerome.

Alfie knew why Jerome said that. Alfie went to his room with Jerome and Otis. Mick picked up Alfie and Otis's plate and put their food on his own plate. Nina and Fabian thought it was suspicious.

"This is not right," said Fabian

"I told you so," said Nina

"I also want pizza," complained Amber.

While the residents were home. Victor had gone to the school to meet up with Mr. Sweet. Victor and Mr. Sweet were in Mr. Sweet's office.

"Why did you want to talk to me, Victor?" Asked Mr. Sweet

"Because I've discovered something Eric and I need your help,"" said Victor

"What do you need Victor?" Asked Mr. Sweet.

"Nina Martin and her group of friends have something to hide. I think it has to do with the Ankh pieces," said Victor.

"But I thought you told me, that Rufus Zeno stole those from your safe," said Mr. Sweet.

"I'm starting to doubt that, I think those kids got something to do with it," said Victor.

"Tell me what I can do for you Victor," said Mr. Sweet

"I need the house all for myself for a day. I need space and time. To search the place thoroughly from top to bottom. So I want you to keep all the residents at school all day," said Victor

"How am I going to do that?" Asked Mr. Sweet.

"What function does the school fulfill if a major calamity occurs in one of their homes?" Asked Victor.

"Then the school can serve as an emergency shelter," said Mr. Sweet.

Mr. Sweet started to understand Victor's plan and he looked at Victor, Victor nodded his head that Mr. Sweet was right.

Back at the house. Jerome, Otis and Alfie, were in the room of Jerome and Alfie enjoying their pizzas. Jerome showed of his new velvet red silk robe.

"What do you think?" Asked Jerome.

"Ah looks chic, that robe of yours," said Alfie

"This isn't just a simple plain robe, it's 100 percent silk," said Jerome.

"Isn't that very expensive?" Asked Otis.

"Yeah, but you gotta give something if like get finer things in life," said Jerome.

"How do you actually get all that money? You're not going to tell me that one of make money fast schemes has finally worked," said Otis.

"No, I got the money from a rich great aunt who passed away not that long ago," said Jerome.

After dinner, the club, minus headed to Nina and Amber's room.

"Jerome is up to something," said Nina

"Jerome is always up to something, said Patricia.

"Nina thinks we can't trust Alfie anymore," said Fabian.

"Nina how can you think that?" Asked Amber.

"Yeah the poor guy went to the cellar to get the elixir even though he's terrified of that place," said Aaron.

"I know that, but my gut says something's up with Alfie," said Nina.

"Listen Nina, the four of us trust Alfie, and you trust us right?" Asked Amber.

"Yes of course I do," said Nina.

"Good because I'm sure Alfie would never betray the club," said Amber.

Although Nina thought Alfie could not be trusted, she trusted her friends. But Nina decided to keep an extra eye on Alfie from now on.

Later that night. All residents slept peacefully. Victor came home late with a cage of white mice.

"Welcome to Anubis house, my furry little friends. Please make yourself at home," said Victor.

Victor released mice all over the house.

The next morning, Nina and Amber were up early. Nina and Amber were chatting about the election.

"When I win I'm going to organize an end-of-school year prom," said Amber.

"How fun! See? I've Americanized you. Next thing you know, you'll by saying the pledge of allegiance," said Nina.

"Huh?" Said Amber.

"Never mind," said Nina.

"And just like a real American, we will of course be dressed in beautiful dresses and the men in suits. But the boys gotta ask the girls to the prom," said Amber.

"And of course you want Mick to ask you," said Nina.

"No. I don't want to go with Mick," said Amber.

"Who do you want to ask you?" Asked Nina.

"Jason," said Amber

"Jason, as in Mr. Winkler or drama/history teacher?" Asked Nina.

"Yes," said Amber.

"Amber, you can't go to prom with your teacher," said Nina.

"Why not?" Asked Amber.

"Because he's your teacher," said Nina.

"And what about you?" Asked Amber.

"What do you mean?" Asked Nina.

"Of course you want Fabian to ask you to the prom," said Amber

Nina's cheeks started to blush.

"I've no idea what you're talking about," said Nina.

"Yes, you do. Why are you two always acting so difficult?" Asked Amber,

"We are not difficult at all. We just like each other as friends, that's all," said Nina

"That is a lie. I just know exactly what you're thinking when you look at Fabian," said Amber.

At the same time Fabian entered the room.

"Hey," said Fabian

"Hey Fabian. That's a funny coincidence," said Amber, in a teasing voice.

"Is it a bad timing?" Asked Fabian.

"No not at all..," said Amber.

Nina felt her cheeks getting warmer and warmer when she saw Fabian. Nina also didn't liked that Amber kept teasing her. Nina gently pushed Amber off the bed to stop her from teasing.

At the same time, in Jerome and Alfie's room. Alfie was still asleep when Jerome tried to wake him up.

"Alfie wake up," said Jerome

"It's 7:11 and it's Sunday, let me sleep," said Alfie, as he looked at his alarm clock.

"No, because you have to find out if your club has already solved that riddle," said Jerome

"I'm sure they're all still sleeping, so they probably won't be busy with that," said Alfie.

"No, I just saw Fabian sneaking upstairs, he will probably go to Nina and Amber's room. So go there and find out what they're up to," said Jerome.

"Listen Jerome, I've thought it through and I don't want to be a spy for you anymore. I don't want to betray my friends," said Alfie

"Alfie I am your friend. They're just using you," said Jerome.

"That is not true," said Alfie

"Oh no? Then why did you have to go to the cellar. Why not Patricia with her big mouth, or the ever so brave Aaron or why not Mr. Smarty-pants Rutter himself?" Asked Jerome

"Because I wanted to prove myself, cause I messed up once before," said Alfie.

"If you don't want me to go to Fabian and tell him everything, the go to Nina and Amber's room now and get me some answers," ordered Jerome.

Alfie reluctantly went to Nina and Amber's room to spy for Jerome. Moments later, Alfie entered Nina and Amber's room.

"Hey Alfie. Bye Alfie," said Amber, as she left her room to go the bathroom.

"Hey what are you guys doing?" Asked Alfie.

"Fabian is still busy working on the riddle," said Nina.

"And have you already made any progress?" Asked Alfie.

"No not yet," said Fabian.

"Really you've nothing? Can't you try to solve it faster?" Asked Alfie.

Nina notices that Alfie was pushing Fabian to solve the riddle faster and she found this suspicious. Suddenly, the Sunday morning was interrupted by Amber's screams. What's going on that made Amber scream like that?
