"Now Raon, have you ever fought before?" I asked, surely this pup must've at least wrestled with his siblings, if he had any, "I haven't fought before in my life," well, now I'd have to teach him the very basics of a fight. Sound and his Pokemon were having a lunch break, so it was perfect time to start teaching Raon how to defend himself, "do you at least understand the basics of fighting?" Raon shook his head, "well, I'll teach you the basics for now."

"First, fighting is all about two things; how physically strong you are, for moves such as Bite or Tackle, and how strong you are with your special abilities. Moves such as Fire Blast, Psychic, and Hydro Pump often fit under this category as you don't need to be physically strong to send a strong Fire Blast." I explained, "now, since you're a Houndour, and you'll likely become a Houndoom at some point, I won't go too far in detail as to defence. Given that your species is rather bad at taking a hit, you'll be more likely to dodge attacks, or even use Protect instead of tanking hits."

Raon seemed to have all of his focus on what I had just said, "so, since I can't take a hit, avoid being hit?" I chuckled, "well, you wouldn't want to get hit even if you could take a hit, getting hit with attacks constantly can end up with you getting knocked out… or worst depending on who you are fighting." the Houndour nodded, "some Pokemon can tank hits better than others, but I know your species cannot tank more than a few weak moves, and you're likely to be knocked out by Water, Rock, and Ground type moves."

Raon's POV=

"So does that mean stuff like Grass Types would be weak to Fire, Poison, and Ice?" Scarlet nodded, "yes, each Pokemon has a typing to them as you might know. This typing determines what moves they are weak to, while also determining which moves gets a small boost when they use it." so it was sorta like the games, "just use common sense to know the weaknesses, for instance a Rock Type, tell me what they would be weak to." Scarlet said, "Grass, Water, Fighting?" Scarlet nodded, "good, now tell me what Rock Type moves would be strong against."

"Fire, Flying, Ice, and Bug?" Scarlet nodded, "that is correct, so you do know a thing or two," she added. That was good, so far it seemed like the type advantages and disadvantages were similar to what I knew from playing Pokemon games since I was eight. "Now, physical moves such as the ones I said earlier are based on your physical strength because you're actually attacking somebody. Moves such as Crunch, Fire Fang, and Ice Fang are slightly different, requiring to use a bit of special energy of their respective typings to fuel them, along with sheer jaw strength."

Scarlet extended a paw forward, "you know how you used Ember?" I nodded, "do it again, but this time bite my paw before you shoot it." how the hell would I do that?" Well, what could go wrong? Scarlet would just tell me what I'm doing wrong if I mess up, so I did as was told, as soon as I felt the fire reach my throat, I bit on her paw. "Good, you just used Fire Fang, it wasn't perfect, but that's a good sign." the Ninetales said, "you're a quick learner, so teaching you moves won't be too hard."

My ears flattened and I gave Scarlet a "sorry" look, "you're afraid if you hurt me, aren't you?" she asked, "yeah…" the Ninetales just laughed, "don't worry, it did sting, but you know about type advantages and weaknesses right?" I nodded, "well, you know the saying fight fire with fire?" I nodded, "whoever came up with that saying is an idiot," Scarlet said, "usually one Pokemon of a certain type will struggle to knock out a Pokemon…"

"If they're both the same typing using their types moves?" Scarlet nodded, "precisely,"

"So don't worry if you hurt me when I tell you to use Fire Type moves on me, it'll sting a bit, but it won't do anything fatal to me." she licked my forehead, "but I do thank you for your concerns, but I assure you, I am fine." Scarlet then laid down, "now let us take a break, I think Sound is done preparing our food."

Scarlet's POV=

Raon definitely knew a lot more than I thought, with him being spot on with type advantages and disadvantages when I told him to list a few of the Rock Type, and even likely knew more. Was he hiding something about him? His backstory seems a bit weird, woke up in the middle of the field, no memories of where he came from, but knew Pokemon Typings almost immediately? He was definitely hiding something.

Perhaps it was a past he wasn't happy with, maybe it hurts him to be reminded of it. Whatever it might be, I'll get him to tell me. If he isn't comfortable with saying it when Sound's Pokemon are out, I can take him into the forest and have him tell me.

Sound placed some regular old Pokemon food in front of both of us, and we both thanked him by licking his hands.

As we ate I eyed Raon the entire time, he was certainly interesting, despite his age, he didn't act too much like a pup. His mannerisms were that of somebody much older, and the few times where he acted like a pup was while playing. "So Raon, mind telling me where you actually came from?" the Houndour's eyes snapped on me, "wha?"

Raon's POV=

"Wha?" Scarlet had just asked me that question, she knew my original story was likely a load of bullshit. Well, most of it was, the part where I woke up in a field was true. I just acted like I didn't hear her, "Raon, please tell me where you came from?" her eyes were like that of a puppy trying to get you to give it the chicken leg if you had one.

Could I really tell her? Should I tell her? Would she actually believe me if I told her? If she believed me, would she see me any differently? I hoped not, because looking at her face, I wasn't gonna say no. Plus I've known her for quite a bit now, so maybe I can just tell her. What Scarlet would think of me became an afterthought.

"I'll tell you Scarlet, but promise me you'll keep it secret?" Scarlet nodded, "you won't believe me either, but here goes nothing right?"

"I'm not actually from this world," Scarlet's eyes were fixed on me, "as in not from this planet?" I shook my head, "I'm not from this universe I should say, I don't know how or why, but I just sorta ended up here as a Houndour pup."

"What were you in this other world?"

"I was a human, not a trainer like Sound is though. Where I came from, Pokemon don't exist, instead of having… a pet Ninetales, we had dogs, which are kinda similar. They don't breathe fire or have nine tails." I giggled at my bad joke, "Pokemon where I came from was nothing more than a video game in my world." That's when Scarlet's eyes widened.

Scarlet's POV=

Taking all of this in was a lot for me, a world without Pokemon? I couldn't imagine it, but Pokemon was nothing more than a small game humans in his world used to pass the time? Well, that would explain Raon's knowledge on typings. "Can you tell me what these games were like?" Raon nodded, "well, you play as this kid in a landmass called a Region. You then go to somebody called a professor, get a Pokemon, then you go on to beat eight gyms, maybe take down a criminal organization, and become the strongest trainer in the region."

Raon sighed, "I was gonna get the latest games with my friend in that world, then I ended up here."

"How did you come here then?" he shrugged, "I felt something hit me while crossing the street. I think a car hit me or something, but I don't know how I ended up here and not dead."

Raon more than likely got killed by that car, I've seen how hard those can hit somebody while moving fast, and ended up here…

The Houndour let out a deep breath, "well, that's where I actually came from. Just woke up in a field after that car hit as… well, this."

Raon's POV=

"I believe you."

She what? Scarlet actually believes my story? Well, it was the truth, but I'm surprised she believed it. "It would explain why you don't act too much like a pup, and it also explains how you somehow knew what certain moves were despite claiming you've never learnt how to fight."

Only now, does the truth change Scarlet's views on me?

"Though, I still see you as a pup that I came across, and that I started taking care of." she said, "you may be mature, but given how young you are in that body you shouldn't be on your own." Scarlet wrapped me in her tails, "and as such, I will take care of you for as long as you need." I got more comfortable in her fur, "thank you Scarlet."
